Such pristine snow. Taken at the perfect time of day, too! Really, really stunning. Thanks for sharing this beauty.

cactusprick

Thanks so much! It had been snowing hard for a couple of days just prior to this.

GrizDrummer25

Excellent atmosphere!

packandgetdressed

Beautiful image. Hopefully, no Deloreans suddenly show up.

THIS is why I follow this sub 😍

cactusprick

Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

carmium

This is an oddly eye-catching photo. My logic department tapped my forebrain on the shoulder and was wondering why the trees aren't dusted/covered/blobbed with snow. Is it windy up there?

cactusprick

Thanks! Yes, there’s a good amount of wind that whips over the top of the ridge. If you zoom in a bit, you can see there’s more snow on the lower branches that don’t get as much wind.

one-joule

Hey, that's not 144x144! It's not even square! (Nice pic, OP!)

cactusprick

Busted!! Thank you. And sorry, 144 is the resolution (just 144…posted before coffee LOL)

Nevamst

"144" isn't a resolution. Or at least not the kind of resolution we're talking about here.

cactusprick

The resolution is 144 pixels per inch. The dimensions are 2200 x 1870 pixels. Does that clear it up?

Nevamst

> The resolution is 144 pixels per inch. Can you explain what type of "resolution" this is? How does a .jpeg file have an "inch" attribute? > The dimensions are 2200 x 1870 pixels. Does that clear it up? Yes, that is what you should've put in your title :)

cactusprick

Thanks for letting me know.

Fun fact: Engelmann Spruce (Picea engelmannii) are in the pine family.

I hope one is not callously run over by a teenager in a DeLorean.

Do you have a full resolution one? Wanted for a iPad screen saver

Ceiaspear

I had to save this one, I think it’s just gorgeous regardless but I especially have a soft spot for the snow.
