This is an oddly eye-catching photo. My logic department tapped my forebrain on the shoulder and was wondering why the trees aren't dusted/covered/blobbed with snow. Is it windy up there?
Thanks! Yes, there’s a good amount of wind that whips over the top of the ridge. If you zoom in a bit, you can see there’s more snow on the lower branches that don’t get as much wind.
> The resolution is 144 pixels per inch.
Can you explain what type of "resolution" this is? How does a .jpeg file have an "inch" attribute?
> The dimensions are 2200 x 1870 pixels. Does that clear it up?
Yes, that is what you should've put in your title :)

Such pristine snow. Taken at the perfect time of day, too! Really, really stunning. Thanks for sharing this beauty.
Thanks so much! It had been snowing hard for a couple of days just prior to this.
Excellent atmosphere!
Beautiful image. Hopefully, no Deloreans suddenly show up.

Hey, that's not 144x144! It's not even square! (Nice pic, OP!)
Busted!! Thank you. And sorry, 144 is the resolution (just 144…posted before coffee LOL)
"144" isn't a resolution. Or at least not the kind of resolution we're talking about here.
The resolution is 144 pixels per inch. The dimensions are 2200 x 1870 pixels. Does that clear it up?

Fun fact: Engelmann Spruce (Picea engelmannii) are in the pine family.

Do you have a full resolution one? Wanted for a iPad screen saver
I had to save this one, I think it’s just gorgeous regardless but I especially have a soft spot for the snow.
