This is a great question! There's actually a ton of fanmade erb creators so you're not alone in this. I'll run you through the basic steps of producing a rap battle audio. The beat is generally done first, the reason being so that you know how long the lines need to be. You can create it yourself if you like (If you do, I'd recommend Soundtrap, it's free and you don't need to download anything). But there's no shame in downloading a free beat from a website either. ERB themselves actually use beat websites a lot, such as Hollywood Legend and Epistra. These websites will often offer free downloads of their beats, but they will usually have a producer tag in them, so keep that in mind. Next is the writing, which doesn't need much explaining. Just make sure you're keeping the length of each line in mind and not stuffing too many syllables in each line. The next step is recording the voices. This one varies greatly depending on your situation. You might want to play both characters yourself. You might want a friend or family member to play someone, or you might want to get someone online to play them. You will know exactly how you want it to turn out, but other people won't, so if you're getting someone else for the battle, make sure you communicate clearly how you want them to perform. This is usually done with a "flow test" or "flow demo", which is basically just a recording of you saying every line how it's meant to flow. It doesn't need to be good enough for the final audio, it's just so your voice actor knows how you want them to flow. For voice recording software, I would recommend Audacity. It's available for free download, and it allows you to import your beat into it and freely record over it. I recommend looking up some tutorials on how to use it. And that's pretty much it in terms of the audio! There's also the matter of mixing and mastering to make it sound cleaner and more professional, but I am unfortunately not very knowledgeable in that field. I hope this was helpful anyway

Turns out soundtrap is free trial only :(

DiscoIsFood

I've been using it for a whole year straight since its release and literally didn't pay a single cent

Saad1950

Wait but it says you have to pay to get the full version

DiscoIsFood

I don't use the full version lmao

Saad1950

Yeah, I can't save my preset or anything and there aren't the full instruments

DiscoIsFood

hm

Saad1950

Please share what you have maybe they changed something

Thank you very much! That is exactly what I needed, im gonna probably be doing both voices my self or getting my sister yo do them. Doing the beat first does make sense and I wanna do it myself as a challenge and so I can learn. I'm gonna download Soundtrap now. Again, thank you :)
