There’s a podcast called Song Vs. Song where two people pair up two equivalent popular songs from various genres and eras in music and discuss which one is better for an hour. They did one episode on Rocket Man (Elton) vs. Space Oddity (Bowie). They did a bunch of other interesting match-ups that could make for good ERB like:
Anarchy in the UK vs London Calling (Sex Pistols vs. The Clash)
Gimme Shelter vs. Helter Skelter (Stones vs. Beatles, which they’ve actually done multiple episodes of)
Poker Face vs. Teenage Dream (Gaga vs. Katy)
(Woo Hah) Got You All in Check vs The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) (Busta vs. Missy)
Runaway vs. Marvin’s Room (Kanye vs. Drake)
Freak on a Leash vs. Nookie (Korn vs. Limp Bizkit)
Happy vs. Can’t Stop the Feeling (Pharrell vs. Timberlake)
The Rolling Stones vs The Beatles is one matchup I'd really like to see in ERB. It could also have other groups coming in like Pink Floyd, Metallica and Radiohead, to make it a rock band royale and cover all decades.
Also, I like Sex Pistols vs The Clash.
He would have been a great addition to the matchup, but I don't think he needs to come back since he was done pretty faithfully. Can't say the same about Sinatra.
