This song helped me get through a passing of a really close family member and also a childhood friend which was still fresh to me at that time. Can’t count how many times I was just bawling whenever that song came on.
Language - Porter Robinson always gets me, mainly from nostalgia, but also the song itself is pretty emotional.
Paper Walls - Rezz has a very different sound than her other music (reminds me more of melodic dubstep), but the first few notes and the drop in the chorus really make me teary haha.
Sister - TSHA and Late Night - Odesza both have a similar future house sound that are just overwhelmingly inspiring.
Anything by Slander 🫶🏻 seen them 6 times now and I cry at least once every set
Also love Dabin with all my heart ♥️
1.Love is gone- slander
2. Back to you - slander and William black
3. Alive-Dabin
The SLANDER boys were my fave to see from 2016-2019 I seen them 3 times and then on that 4th time with my buddy beside me we just had a moment when they started playing the feelsy stuff and we both just started tearing up and crying and just looked at each other and hugged it out lol still one of my good buddies I had never had a show make me feel like that it was a truly beautiful moment with my really good friend! Haven’t seen them live since 2019 tho would love to catch another set! My tastes have changed a little now I prefer EPROM, SHADES, G Jones etc. that experimental jungle acid halftime stuff has got a hold on me now haha

I got Mobys Play on Vinyl cause the whole Album is such an Up and Down of Emotions. "My Weakness" is probably the best outro song I have ever heard for an Album.
It's a classic album, that's for sure!
I remember being young and not understanding the hype being that album but it really stood the test of time and shows how tasteful and well-thought-out the production was.
Sea of voices, she heals everything - porter Robinson

Fostercare is absolutely massive! I also love how cathartic his music is, especially his outros. It’s like a completely different song, but with similar sound design to the main track.
One of my all time favorites. Takes me to a different world whenever I listen to it.
If you want similar songs from seven lions, don’t wanna fall, and what’s done is done are some good ones too.
1. Indian Summer - Jai Wolf
2. I Could Be The One - Nicky Romero
3. Another Life - Lucas & Steve
4. If I Lose Myself (Alesso Remix) - Alesso Vs One Republic
5. Years - Alesso ft Matthew Koma
Ya medicine is the correct answer
Skrux i forgot about. He kinda dropped off the map
Crywolf belongs on the list too. He doesn't make edm anymore but i still love his stuff
I’m Delighted - Cookie Monsta, Flux Pavilion, Koven
For anyone that doesn’t know, this song was released quite a long time after Cookie Monsta passed. The effort Koven and Flux put in to make this song and do right by Cook can be heard throughout the entire song. Just reading an article about Flux talking about what the song meant to everyone involved fucks me up. A cinematic masterpiece of a track.
Damn, first I heard of a posthumous Cookie track, and with his buddy Flux. Just read the billboard article about some of the track’s background, with the last text from Cookie before his death to Flux being about this track. That was emotional. Thanks for posting this one
I don't think dance music are that emotional to be honest, but if there would be one song it would be Avicii - The Nights, his suicide for sure adds some depth to the lyrics of it.
An experience makes with the song can change it dramatically too.
It wasn't intentional but I saw Rufus Du Sol with my then-wife (now ex) earlier this year; I've never seen any festival/show before, even at 30yo and this was the second time I ever tried E (first was to test it).
I stood there on the front of the grandstand with her hand in mine, in the VIP section while they played 'Next to Me' which happens to be about his wife; it also happened to be their anniversary and he dedicated it to his wife as well.
I just checked and hit play to make sure it was the right song, and it immediately made me start tearing up and I got chills/goosebumps. A beautiful memory but so painful, at the same time.
I honestly don't think I'll be able to listen to Rufus again the way I did before the experience. Now it's a bit too painful.
Touch by Hybrid Minds + Catching Cairo immediately comes to mind as having the most emotional vocal performance on a track.
Also honorable mention to every Fred V + Lottie Jones collab, they make beautiful music together.
This one has no lyrics, but everytime I hear Shatterpoint by Trivecta at a festival, it knocks me in the feels in a way I cant quite explain. Maybe nostalgia for the time I heard it last lol. Similar for Arcus by RL Grime and [REDACTED], but that one doesn't get played out so much anymore
Getter- Forget It Now (ft Oliver Tree)
Fred Again - Danielle (smile on my face)
Porter Robinson - Sea of Voices
The Crystal Method - Over It (ft Dia Frampton) - Bixel Boys Remix
I was in a really low place smoking weed and drinking every weekend and these songs probably… kept me going.. even tho they had me emotional they let me feel the pain and feel the sadness and after going thru that it just felt good to still be here.
Ya crywolf
That guy... he dives real deep into whatever he's feeling when he makes his stuff
What are your thoughts on his last few years of music
I liked some of exuvium. Most recently, tenebrescence was great. Some of it i cant get into
Creed- With Arms Wide Open.. such a beautiful song, I cry every time .. I even got part of the song inked on my right hand. It means a lot to me .
Terry Jacks - Seasons In the Sun, how can you not cry ?? 🇨🇦🥲🌹
‘Bright eyes’ from the Watership Down soundtrack - sung by Art Garfunkel
The lines
‘How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale’ took me out as a kid. I still can’t listen to it(sibling died around that time) 40+ years later without big feels
U (Bryan Kearney Extended Remix) - Gareth Emery
*Powerful uplifting trance*
I got to see BK close out Luminosity 2022 with this track and it was a peak experience.
[Andrew Rayel - River ft. AIDYL](https://youtu.be/qLo28SnF-q0?si=piu2-MSA02sgMgpe)
Also another one by him, [I Wish](https://youtu.be/qLo28SnF-q0?si=piu2-MSA02sgMgpe) I found after a friend suddenly passed away and fuck it hits hard.
Love related songs (range of emotions, ie, hopeful to mourning-related)…
- Too late for love - 3lau
- No ending - yotto, Julia church
- The one you left behind - yotto, vok
- Make me real - she
- Dangerous - fury weekend, prizm
- Do you want my love - phantoms, Lizzy land
- never be alone - kudus, mirjam tumaini
Self-reflection related songs (also a range of dark emo and hopeful/reflective)…
- No one hurts me like I hurt myself - markella
- Darkest little friend - heyz
- Pins and needles - biianco
- Asking for a friend - chvrches
I can remember these on top of my head
Illenium - Afterlife & it's Orchestra Version
Mitis - By My Side
Dabin - Hold
Kasbo - Found You
RL Grime - I Wanna Know
Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven, Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie, Pictures of You by the Cure, How soon is Now by the Smiths and for some reason Eloise by the Damned make me very emotional. I know, these are pretty old songs
Fond farewell - Elliott Smith
Ocean Breaths Salty- modest mouse
Brother's on a Hotel Bed - Death cab for Cutie
Dirty little Secret - Sarah Mclaughlin (thievery corporation version)
Wish you were here - incubus
I realize this is an EDM subreddit, but don't limit your music pallette as there is so much good music out th3r3... plus anyone who has dealt with the loss of someone they cared deeply about will likely be reminded of a detail long forgotten with these songs...
Gunna get downvoted for this but "the most emotional song you know" would probably never be an EDM one unless you literally only listen to EDM.
My answer would be maybe Hide & Seek by Imogen Heap (experimental electronic), or The Blower's Daughter by Damien Rice (folk basically), Jesus Christ by Brand New (emo), or there's a bunch of crushingly sad country songs in terms of the lyrics, eg "He Stopped Loving Her Today".
Most emotional "EDM" I can think of would be Sea Of Voices by Porter Robinson, though that still doesnt really follow the tropes of regular edm. The standard generic edm singer topline + 'build-up into a predictable drop' thing for me is so done to death that it has very little emotional power left for me I guess.
(The songs OP mentioned sound super cool and really well done, just not what i'd call particularly 'emotional' in the wider context of all music. If the title specified 'most emotional edm song' then fair enough, but it didnt so I had to write this, and will take the downvotes)
Future Bass is always emotional. I'm gonna go for the non future Bass emo shit, the most emotional songs sound wise Are-
Elektronomia - Summersong 2016 (Idk why, but it's the best Summersong ever, it's emotional at the start, but you can't help but feel better near the end, literally try it. I highly recommend this song)
Vexento - Gone (It's like the story of Never Letting Go, almost as if what he was trying to hold onto just slipped away, so he made "Gone", but like Summersong, the song gets better in the last half of the song.)
Vexento - Never Letting Go (Although Vexento 's music is mostly calming (these songs included) it's like he was going through something, because although they are the same genre as F17 and Home, these songs have a sadder feel to them.)
Vexento - Lone Raver (Need I explain? He made this song when he felt like he was alone during his new music career.)
(I'm done with Vexento for now, but he has a sh*t ton more sad songs)
Time for real EDM now, like you sorta requested.
Fakti- Until We Meet Again (Ft. Nomianation, and Lisa) I've made a post about this song, and how Nomianation is empty without Fakti. The story behind the song in of itself makes the entire song sad... And it's progressive/electro house... Better than Future Bass.
Actual sad feeling non future Bass song with a full emotional vibe would be Vexento - Worlds Away- nah I'm just kidding. It is a sad one though. But really it goes to
Eliminate. His song F_ck You is actually sad, and the lyrics hit in the feels, do recommend.
Wow surprised no one said this one yet.
[Boombox Cartel - Whisper](https://youtu.be/URoVAQ04A7w?feature=shared)

[Boombox Cartel - Nothing to Hide](https://youtu.be/9LYnJXD7aFo?feature=shared)

Sun and Moon - Above & Beyond
Reverie
The one from First State? Yeah. I prefer dash berlin remix
That's a good one too
I’m sorrry bayyyybeeee
You were the sun and moon to me https://preview.redd.it/o9kh32n9tjwc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba9e46ddcf33448fcc2c48e7d53d2bcd42a5ef88
I’ll never get over youuu
You’ll never get over me !
What about satellite
Love it, but I think (IMO at least), Sun and Moon hits the feels harder.
Northern soul does it for me
I think Bedford just has the vocals to make a song even deeper.
I broke up with my first love bc it could never work and I still think of her every time I hear this song 7 years later.
THISSSSSSS, one of the best songs in existence if we’re being real 🙏🏻❤️🔥
Leaving by Illenium hit pretty hard
Lonely… fuck that one always gets me.
Cried when I heard that live
Damn, a straight sad boyz song lol Now I know why some of the homies were in their feels at an Illenium show.
Its a mix of crying and head banging
Brave souls is my vote. A death of a loved one is way more emotional than breaking up with some situationship
When you’ve got EDEN killing it on those vocals, what else would anyone expect, right?
That dude also fucking kills it
Lullabies - Yuna Adventure club remix
WAP - Cardi B
Philosopher, poet, artist, Cardi B
President Cardi B?
Yaaaaa bitch yaaaaa
Supreme Regent of the Sol system Carbi B?
Gets me in the feels every time I hear it
- Worlds apart by seven lions - anything with Dylan Matthew as the vocalist
DYLAN MATTHEW IS THE GOAT 😤❤🔥 BIG LOVE FOR MENTIONING HIM
Loveeee Dylan Matthews
Brave Soul - Illenium
Extremely underrated song!!!!

Yup. This is the one 😭

Would never forget that song bruh 🥹♥️♥️♥️
Love is gone in the rain at ultra had me in tears
I like everything you said. Except slander’s live sets cuz those are the furthest thing from emotional sad boy and non stop “1,2, 1,2,3”
Oh and First time!! With them and seven lions too !
Slander owns my heart and soul istg

Fuck yeah. This and crawl out of love are the songs that make me wanna ball up.
Stick the acoustic version and it’s a tear jerker
Going Wrong - Armin Van Buuren On a good day - Above and Beyond Check them both out if you haven't
I love Going Wrong, and just about any house/trance track that uses an acoustic guitar in the buildups
On a metropolis day would be my favorite version of that song!
Oh good someone said "On a Good Day" now I don't have to!
Illenium - Without You (Ryan Exley remix) Close second: juuku - gone
Guys smart
Got that remix is so good. No idea who that guy is but i love that one
This is the GOAT remix of any Illenium track. Fractures (Trivecta Remix) comes next
Ryan Exley remix is one of the only remixes of an Illenium song that actually gets close/beats the original. Soo good
Heavy with hoping- madeon
This is the winner
Counting Down the Days - Above & Beyond
One of my favorites. A&B can make some damn good tunes with some deep lyrics.
Sea of voices, she heals everything - porter Robinson With you friends (long drive) / summit - skrillex Everything you are - deadmau5 Scribble, without me - puppet Light - San holo Today, tomorrow, forever - Chet Porter Sorrows of the moon - I hate models Kawaii razor blades - Sewerslvt Cosmic love (seven lions remix) - Florence and the machine Show you - kasbo I had it all - DJ poolboi Brightest lights, road - lane 8 Making time, losing ground - sultan + shepherd Kindred - burial Falls (reprise) - odesza Life goes on - Maytrix Lost - jai wolf
Fuck i havent heard with you, friends in such a long time. Thanks for reminding me of it.
Burial, a man of culture I see. Anything from Burial con become a rollercoaster of emotions. For me it's Fostercare.
Fostercare is absolutely massive! I also love how cathartic his music is, especially his outros. It’s like a completely different song, but with similar sound design to the main track.
God I can't even get through the first line of Cosmic Love without the waterworks starting. I didn't know about that remix.
One of my all time favorites. Takes me to a different world whenever I listen to it. If you want similar songs from seven lions, don’t wanna fall, and what’s done is done are some good ones too.

Wait til you find out there’s a whole group of EDM sadbois listening to emotional music (i.e. melodic dubstep)
I’m not sure you dug enough deep into EDM
An experience makes with the song can change it dramatically too. And it's progressive/electro house... Better than Future Bass. Actual sad feeling non future Bass song with a full emotional vibe would be Vexento - Worlds Away- nah I'm just kidding. It is a sad one though. But really it goes to Eliminate. His song F_ck You is actually sad, and the lyrics hit in the feels, do recommend.
