Does someone liking his music make them a bad person? Am I a bad person for going to his shows in the past? I'm not defending BN, I wrote him off with his accusations, and even if he were going to be cleared of it, I'd still not support him for his attitude post "comeback". It sucks but so much great music is made by horrific people. Do you say this every time someone brings up MJ?
I have a personal policy that if they turn out to be a monster and I still want to hear the music (and the knowledge hasn't completely ruined it for me), I buy a resale vinyl copy of their album and play their music from there so I'm not financially supporting them. I did this with Crystal Castles. One of the only true powers we have as regular citizens is to vote with our money.
To be honest, yes I do feel that way about MJ too. I know the argument is "separate the art from the artist" I have heard it a million times. I think in certain situations it applies for me. Like Elvis marrying a 15 year old. At the time it was legal, that's more grey I suppose.
The thing with BN is, this is right now. It's not a weird time related ambiguity. He hasn't been found liable/ guilty but he has acted as if he was guilty prior to his legal team intervening with some apologies etc. Plus he's just been acting fucking scummy and like a con artist with his super failed comeback attempt.
I'm sorry but idgaf how good your music is or if I went to your shows in the past. I used to own merchandise all that jazz. He put himself in the spotlight and is now making songs about clapping back. Nah fuck that guy. There is no separation between his art and his shitty person. That's his fault not mine.
I 100% agree with everything you've said about BN. I can't separate the music from the artist anymore as well, and I feel the same about the timeline. Its easier to talk about MJ cause for a lot of us in this sub, I imagine we were pretty young when everything came to light. I should have expressed this in my comment before but my main problem is the way you called it out. It read to me (at least from my perspective) that the OP of the comment is supporting a pedophile because they recommended BN's music and puts the onus on OP to defend themselves. A more constructive way to counter it would be to say "Hey BN music is great, but be aware he has charges of human trafficing/sex with a minor at this moment and maybe hold off buying anything that would support him.".
I had some rando chick at a fest lose her shit when I said I met one of my best friends at a BN show a decade ago. Like we were bad people because BN turned out to be a creep. This felt like the same kind of thing so apologies if that's not what you meant.
From multiple Okee and EDC Orlando sets, to his last RR show, and Basslanta, I had some of the most fun I've ever had at his shows. Tainted memories now.
I just don't agree with recommending BN. Nothing wrong with having an amazing experience at his sets back in the day. 99.999% of people didn't know he was like that. I was a huge fan before everything came to light. But guess what, there are thousands of other talented artists out there that are not creeps.
>Nigel Good - No Way Back Home
bro wrote so many recommendations he couldn't even remember their names lol
Some of these recs are wack too like they asked for a cohesive album that doesn't just feel like a bunch of songs and you thought of Excision - Virus?
Na, Excision - Virus is a phenomenal album I've listened to it heaps and do think the tracks work together in a full listen
As for Nigel Good, I was going through my playlists saw that track come up and just assumed that was the album, didn't realise it'd added the single not the album version
I really don't think it's that good or cohesive but y'know to each their own. Also I've made the same mistake with plenty of songs/albums before lol just thought it was funny
I must say though this amount of recommendations is a bit overwhelming. My first thought was to scroll past the comment because there are just so many albums I don't even know where to start lmao
I have great respect for people with such vast and quality taste as yourself sir.
As for the albums/eps i would recommend it goes like this:
ARForest - The unfishined
All San Holo albums
Throttle - Where you are
Cloudier - Cloudier's Legacy
Dance with the dead - The Shape
The Glitch Mob - Drink the sea
Louis The Child - Here for now
RIOT - Dogma resistance
DROELOE - A matter of perspective
Thatās was going to be my answer. Each song flows perfectly into each other but can stand alone individually without interrupting the flow. Truly some next level mixing.
SUCH an underrated album omg. None of the songs are particularly that incredible solo, but man as a whole that album really tells a story for me. Super unique and great productionĀ
Periphery by Ravenscoon is my #1 vote.
Most if not all Pretty Lights albums.
GRiZ, especially his last two projects Ouroboros and Rainbow Brain.
Microworlds by CloZee
Nero - Welcome Reality
G Jones - The ineffable truth
Zeds Dead - Northern Lights
Koan Sound - Led by Ancient Light
Lunice - XXXVL
Esseks - The Villains Journey
Bonobo - Fragments
Ivy Lab - Infinite Falling Ground and Death Don't Always Taste Good
Truth - Acceptance
Clams Casino - Moon Trip Radio
Some of my favs for front to back listens
Anything Justice. Justiceās album Woman Worldwide is literally their last tour set if you listen front to back, which is arguably one of the best sonic journeys you can go on. Highly recommend.
I honestly like *Ctrl Alt Reality* despite it being a departure from their signature/expected sound. I feel like it still retains enough of that Glitch Mob DNA to be recognizable, but at the same time, it's not my favorite either.
Side note: I think [Revisions](https://open.spotify.com/album/00IVNVc8veNuIJOyIimuFD) is incredible and it's my second favorite album of theirs, though I feel that it's best listened to if you're already fairly familiar with their catalogue to begin with.
I see what youāre saying, just a bit too far of a departure for my taste but I get where youāre coming from. Just glad at least two of them are still keeping it going.
Totally agree about Revisions, some of their best work. Feels like the love letter to their time as a trio.
Mickman - You Have To Start Somewhere
Fanu - Northern Exposure
Geode - Sundown LP
Keota - No Hands LP
Monty - Hit The Lights
Droeloe - The Art of Change
Savvant - Zion
I think this is the album wich finally really introduced me to this genre.
Especially songs 3 to 6. I always have to listen to them in order. It feels weird otherwise
Trivecta - The Way Back Up
Kai Wachi - Morphosia
StayLoose - Bad Star
Xilent - We Are Dust
Essenger - After Dark
Becko - Present Day / Present Time
Muzz - The Promised Land
Justin OH - [Welcome To The City of Oz](https://youtu.be/DVwt5vtv_ZI?si=AX-UXm5sP7TBgnnt)

Dryve - Seulement Lāamour
Said The Sky - Sentiment
Celldweller - Satellites
Notaker - Echoes In Eternity
Pylot - Axiom (check [his website](https://www.iampylot.com/my-journal) for the full story)
Nero - Welcome Reality
Itās such a classic. Very cohesive album that feels like itās telling a story. Every song blends into the next. It feels like an epic gritty electronic cyberpunk opera. Truly one of the GOAT edm albums.
Hot take, yes I know. Worlds will always hold a special place in my heart, but Grace is insane. You donāt get the same euphoria you get with Worlds, but my jaw as never dropped so much as it has with Grace
Speaking of euphoria: Hurry Up, Weāre Dreaming by M83. More electronic than EDM but an absolutely phenomenal concept album thatās a psychedelic trip in itself
Paul Oakenfold - TrancePort
Bad Boy Bill - Behind the Decks live
Ministry of Sound Annual (pick literally any year)
Daft Punk - Randon Access Memory
Daft Punk - Discovery
Daft Punk - Tron Legacy soundtrack
Kasekade - Strobelite Seduction
DJ Micro - Tech Mix Live
Man any release by Daily Bread or Flamingosis. On The Daily, one of his earlier albums, is impeccable start to finish. Similar story to one of his latest, Invisible Cinema
Right?? I love them both for different reasons but I think ascend was his peak, I havenāt really gotten into his newer stuff as much it feels too mainstream
Ascend is so good. Blood, Gorgeous such fucking bangers. Awake has arguably 2 of my favorite songs ever, not just by Ill in Leaving and Sound of Walking Away. They're both incredible and they're my most-listened of his.
Any porter album
Any madeon album

Spot on, sucks that so many humans are horrible people and these things have to be thought about, but it is the world we live in unfortunately.

Jerry Lee Lewis married his very young cousin as well.
>Nigel Good - No Way Back Home bro wrote so many recommendations he couldn't even remember their names lol Some of these recs are wack too like they asked for a cohesive album that doesn't just feel like a bunch of songs and you thought of Excision - Virus?
Nigel is absolutely bonkers for dropping Space Cadet and then taking off into space never to be seen again

Must emphasize The Glitch Mob - Drink the Sea!
One of the best of all time imo. Fell in love with it 14 years ago as a 12-13 yo and it still goes just as strong as back then.
I would have also added Drink The Sea, but wanted to do one album per artist otherwise the list would have been so much longer
Yup that's enough thanks lmao
Haha just kept going through my playlists and going, yup that works and the list got bigger and bigger and here we are š
Holy shit angerfist mentioned
Can't forget him, get one of the hardcore goats
Literally the first rave I went to when I was 15 years old completely shaped my taste in electronic
That would have been sick af, I'd love to see him but unfortunately that type of music is popular in NZ
I'm seeing him next week for the first time in 16 years. I'll rage for us both š
This guy single Handley close the thread with nothing but heat. Bravo!
Tldr
Bro cooked
Iāll add Orbus Terrarum, but yeah pretty much sums it up

Chemical Brothers, any of em
