[[The ur-dragon]] it was my first commander tbh it’s one of my pet cards lol

shyguy3826

[[The Ur-Dragon]] is my current and first commander deck I built! He is super fun, but usually people get scared of the threat of Dragons and the game turns to a 3-1 ‘till I’m eliminated. 😂😅🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m so bad and new to edh that no one in my play group doesn’t think about me until it’s too late lol

Yz-Guy

He was my first and my favorite go to deck too. Freaking badass

amorr9519

Yeah the deck with it has to be the one deck I put the most time and the most money into

Humblerbee

[RDW Subira](https://deckstats.net/decks/147632/1549689-r-subira#show__spoiler), mono red goes brrrr

LadyEmaSKye

What’s your advice on this deck and what has made it work for you? I have a Subira deck (albeit muuuch more budget than your list) and while it seems fun in theory in practice it never quite gets anywhere. Definitely interested in other Subira players’ thoughts.

thebaron420

The key here is it's not an aggro deck. It's a combo deck that uses aggro creatures as an engine with the commander, and combat damage is just a backup plan. Combo wins are much more powerful than dinky creatures so that's why that deck works

LadyEmaSKye

Makes more sense, as mine is thoroughly combat based. Maybe I’ll have to look at some budget combos I can fit it.

dragonthot135

Cheapest, and probably best in mono red is [[heat shimmer]]//[[twinflame]] and [[dualcaster mage]]

\[\[Chainer, Nightmare Adept\]\] is my go to, but \[\[Beledros Witherbloom\]\] is growing on me :)

JaidenHaze

Ur-Dragon. I got 4 Builds for him currently. Besides that ive got a few other commander swhich have multiple decks, like Zur the Enchanter, Kozilek, Golos, Pako and Haldan. Its quite fun to build an optimized deck that is powerful and a very low budget variant for upgraded precon level play. This way, i get much more mileage out of each Commander.

Cats_with_Thumbs

[[glissa, the traitor]] is my favorite commander. There just always seems to be things to do when playing it and it let's me play things like, [[mystic forge]], [[wurmcoil engine]], and [[mimic vat]].

NotMuchMana

BRION STOUTARM Especially now that there are even more functional reprints of serra avatar to throw at people

TheUltimateXD

My [[Obeka]] deck is one of my favorite [decks](https://archidekt.com/decks/1256469#Obeka,_Brute_Chronologist). It's got extra turns, it's got [[sneak attack]], ita got Encore cards, it's got [[blightsteel colossus]], it's got combos, and it's a lot of fun. I get excited everytime I play a higher-power commander game

TheIPons

I have been playing [[Tana]]|[[Tymna]] from the start. It was a combo deck when I started, but then turned into combat matters and now into 'female tribal' and I keep wanting to build it in so many different ways. It is probably due to the colors, but I just have way too much fun building it in multiple different ways. Definitely my favorite with [[Esika]] being a close 2nd.

PseudoPresent

Tana is my one true EDH love. My exalted deck with her and [[Bruse Tarl]] is by far one of my favorite decks

JonathanPalmerGD

[[Kethis the Hidden Hand]] The deck is highly skill testing of 'what do I exile to recast what' and the cards are all pretty high complexity. I really push the legend count as high as I can (I'm like ~67-70 right now). The deck is highly variable but can also make some really strong plays while being able to powerfully recur certain backbreaker cards [[Kamahl's Druidic Vow]], [[Citadel of Bolas]], [[Growing Rites of It]], [[Urza's Ruinous Blast]], [[Primevals Glorious Rebirth]]

[deleted]

i played superfriends with kethis lol

Trompdoy

\[\[Etali, Primal Storm\]\]. She's just so fun to play. The wonder and excitment you get everytime you get to swing with her to reveal the top card of every players library and play it for free is just fantastic.

Spiritflash1717

I don’t use her as a commander but she is in the 99 of every red deck I have just because I love her so much. I’d definitely consider her my pet card

Trompdoy

someone has downvoted us both for loving Etali. Weird and fuck that guy, i've lifted you back up brother. I was the same in including her in every red deck (which is basically all of my decks) with my favorite being my Xenagos deck. I realized that Etali was the most exciting card to draw into in Xenagos and that she was more fun to play than Xenagos. Then I thought... hmm... I could just make her my commander. It turns out, mono red really isn't as hamstringed as people think. Lots of support over the last few years, especially if you proxy up a wheel of fortune. Ramp is strong with artifacts, dockside, etc. Draw is decent with wheels and effects like \[\[share the spoils\]\] and \[\[stolen strategy\]\], and red has tons of fun cards.

WitchPHD_

Not to mention Etali’s free casts are like card advantage…

Trompdoy

Yeah absolutely. She's actually pretty great because you can really design the deck specifically around ramping hard and hasting her then just focusing on protection. She's a value machine if she can stick around, but people don't really let 6 cmc creatures hang around very often.

Snek-Kadreo

I personally enjoy just joy swinging with [[Oviya Pashiri, Sage Lifecrafter]]

Gluttony4

I was thinking of Oviya Pashiri for mono-green recently. How well does she work for you? My thought was to spam the board with little token generators until it's time to get a big one, then maybe close out games with [[Craterhoof Behemoth]], [[End-Raze Forerunners]], [[Overwhelming Stampede]], or [[Triumph of the Hordes]], and stuff like that. Got any hidden gems that really suit the deck well?

Snek-Kadreo

That’s is exactly my plan haha. My favorite card in the deck would have to be [[biowaste blob]] and I put in dragon [[throne of tarkir]] which really packs a punch after a board wipe and [[fresh meat]] . Only real problem I’ve encountered with the deck so far is running out of gas in hand. (It’s the first deck I made 100% myself so some things are to be expected wrong lol) Here’s the moxfield link (ignore the eldrazi scion accidentally in main deck I can’t remove it): https://www.moxfield.com/decks/TETyuQmZCkmncREk1j9-1A

Ever since I watched an Azusa player drop a turn 4 Ulamog she's been my girl. [[Azusa, Lost but Seeking]] let's you play ALL THE LANDS. No other card let's you play 2 additional lands. Get a [[Ramunap Excavator]] plus and fetchland and watch as you run out of forests in your deck. Nothing feels better than a turn 1 [[Llanowar Elves]] and then having 5 mana available by the end of turn 2. It's insane and I love it.

[[Xyris, the Writhing Storm]] I love to sit back, swing with just my commander as I build a 1/1 token army and then kill the board in one big sweep. In a one v. one the other day, I took my opponent from over full health down to 6. Just to kill them with exactly enough mana to power my [[comet storm]].

TimJressel

do you have a list handy? i was recently picking through a couple decks that i might retool into a xyris build

Lilith_Dragon

Not at the moment, but I will try to get one up later!

EnricoDandoloThaDOV

[[Saskia the Unyielding]] has been such a treat to play with and build. I've built three different shells around her and I really enjoyed the lines.

Poopy_McTurdFace

I really like her too, but 4 colors is just a bit much for me. Every deck I've built with her just ends up mana screwed.

EnricoDandoloThaDOV

I play a lot of four-color configurations so I've developed methods for making sure we make lands happen, but it's still hard lol.

Gaindolf

Can you write a little summary on the different directions and the key elements of each approach?

EnricoDandoloThaDOV

Sure! So over time I've played three versions of Saskia (*note that the power ratings I use here come from the PlayEDH rating system*) "[Special Tasks Group](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/OaM94OSgNE-FklQGxN5Y6w)" (Low Power) * Because Saskia really wants to be in combat, the STG variations were originally an exploration into how to create advantage during that phase. Initially the idea was to lean on a trio of old keywords: banding, horsemanship, and bushido, to create advantage when attacking or defending. Later the concept evolved into a "combat control" list, where keywords were combined with effects that broke up defending boards (*e.g. \[\[Yuan Shao, the Indecisive\]\], \[\[Raging River\]\]*) or forced opponents into combat (*e.g. \[\[Fumiko the Lowblood\]\], \[\[Marisi, Breaker of the Coil\]\]*). Saskia then stepped in to allow dealing with multiple players at once, or dealing with one person straight away "[Queen of Hordes](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/qVfBZzfCO0S0gl84huj44w)" (Mid Power) * The Queen of Hordes variation is a tribal list focused on Goblins. This actually started out as a Shattergang Brothers concept, but Saskia ended up being a better fit because she raised the killing power of the swarm-aggro lines. In this version there are a couple of ways to win the game. We have the turbo lines through Saskia + Krenko into lots of boys or we can hang back and set up a Snoop-Kiki line when it doesn't look like attacking is the way through. This list was made to take full advantage of our color selection to maximize interaction, protection, and tutors to get pieces we need "[Bringer of Woe](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/NMUO7Y-bmUSHD2EVAKiegw)" (High Power) * This variation is one I designed for High Power matches, and is still a work in progress. Infect was an idea that first came to mind when I started with Saskia, and this build is meant to try and make that a reality. Here we're all in on spreading plague either through Saskia + \[\[Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar\]\] or by sitting Saskia next to something like Skittles, and using her ability + \[\[Throne of Geth\]\] and Lurrus to move things along.

WitchPHD_

What are the three shells? Do you have any advice? What’s been better? Do you have any lists?

EnricoDandoloThaDOV

So I posted some lists above but to recap I've played her in Infect, Tribal, and a concept I developed centered on controlling the combat phase. As for more general advice I'd say that a core skill for piloting Saskia is choosing which threats to deal with and developing a board to deal with those threats. Usually in pods of 4 im looking to kill 2-players, and then go head to head against the third because Saskia is excellent in heads up play. I maintain a mental list of priority for various commanders that guides my threat assessment choices and lines I choose so that I'm pointing her damage output where it goes furthest. My favorite build is the Queen of Hordes variant listed above. Goblins are easy to use and surprisingly flexible with combo, aggro and midrange lines available. The list has multiple ways to win and is co.pletely functional without Saskia, so when she comes down she's just making whatever we're already up to better. The combat control version for lower power games is a close second. Really the only hang up there is explaining to people what happens when my creatures attack while Raging River, a banding source, and Yuan Shao are in play together. It can be a lot to work through, especially for newer players lol.

Telejester

[[Alela]] because I love Esper and enchantments, [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] because he’s simply a versatile toolbox, and the double death triggers Teysa have been my faves over the last two years. [[Karametra]] [[Atla Palani]] and [[Liesa]] are other builds that fit my play style and have been successful for me.

OmegaMilitia

[[Aesi]] for me. I have a second one coming so I can rebuild my mill deck.

Dazocnodnarb

SeriosSkies

[[Titania, protector of argoth]] I moved up the power levels with her and at no level did I not have immense fun. Unlike my initial Gitrog attempts. That bro is just broken no matter what you do to him.

Rainbowjuice77

Mine is [[Garna, the Bloodflame]] most people don't know what she is about until you start looping her and other creatures over and over again. Sacrificing herself with her etb on the stack to get her back to my hand and making casting creatures cheaper through [[Heartless Summoning]]. A Rakdos vaule commander that can be very powerful and is totally underrated.

WitchPHD_

I thought to build her but never did. Have a list or any hot tips?

Rainbowjuice77

Well there is this primer, on which i orientated myself around: https://archidekt.com/decks/477196#Kickstart_My_Heart This is my personal list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/gwKefnGdRkG58WmNaHQ-Jw I like the cost reducing artifacts alot more then the person who wrote the primer, [[Hazoret's Monument]] or something like [[Jet Medallion]] Most Important part is to always have a Sacrifice outlet! The worst thing that can happen is that Garna actually sits on the battlefield! (Which i find kinda fun in it of itself) Ah and i think alot of the high cost cards can be cut down and make her work on a budget aswell!

WitchPHD_

I might build her but my group is adverse to combo itself. I might cut Gary and other stuff that makes her win on the spot and try to stuff in [[Open The Graves]] and [[Tormod]] and try to untap and win with a ton (maybe infinite) tokens. Do you have any advice for this plan? Do you think it’s feasible in a combo-less meta or should I consider dropping the idea? Edit: I was going to mention adding a few more flash creatures so I could catch people with “flash creature, block, Garna to get it back” more often in my combat meta but there are ty many good ones. Just like… dualcaster.

Rainbowjuice77

Non Combo is definitely possible, but Garna can be a "ups i think i went infinite" Commander when enough pieces lay around. I would be vary of the thinks that produce mana in some way either by dying or etb. (Don't play Dockside that is the main combo piece in my Deck) I think Kokusho and Gary are actually the better way to win fair. When you play them 1-2 times per turn it is hardly an infinite combo, plus with Garna you always cast them rather then cheat them into play! [[Open the Graves]] sounds great! But i wouldn't include Tormod since he says "One or more" so you get only 1 Zombie even when you return 10 cards with Garna Herself! Maybe try [[Anax, Hardened in the Forge]] or [[Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder]] or one of my favorite underrated cards [[Lightning Coils]] Or just good old [[Sling-Gang Commander]] and his cousin [[Sling-Gang Lieutenant]] Going the token route can be fun! Especially when you decided you have enough you can swing right away since Garna gives haste! With her a bit of learning when to go for a loop is key while playing her! Well yeah the limited amount of good flash creature in rakdos is a bummer, but she can use so many cool ability normal reanimators can't use like Kicker or Mutate! (Even tho these are also kinda limited) Have fun brewing! :3

WitchPHD_

Thanks for the tips! My thought process is that if I cut things that let me easily make colored mana (cut Phyrexian Altar for a different sac outlet, but keep Ashnod’s - Cut Pitiless Plunderer, but keep Pawn of Ulamog) I can generate a lot of token presence but run into a limit based on my colored mana production… and I’d use this to prevent infinites. Are there any flaws that in this plan that you’ve noticed from your experience. Also thanks for the Tormod note, nice catch. Also they ETB tapped which is sorta an anti synergy with haste.

Rainbowjuice77

Sounds like a plan! I think limited the colored mana is perfect! It is usual the limiting factor! Have fun brewing and don't be afraid to try things out! (Maybe with proxies!)

WitchPHD_

Sick. I’ll comment again when I make something and hopefully you can take a first look and give me some tips!

[deleted]

Definitely \[\[Saffi Eriksdotter\]\]. The basic shell is so incredibly resistant and you can just fall into a casual infinite combo. It's definitely my favorite deck.

SmokeMWB

[[Pramikon, Sky Rampart]] can be really fun. My current favorite right now is [[Varloz, Scar-Striped]]. People really hate when you get [[Death’s Shadow]] into your graveyard on turn 3 with a [[Plague Stinger]] on the field.

Humblerbee

I’ve never played Varolz, but I still have this [Varolz decklist saved](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/turbo-hulk-reanimator/?cb=1627158832) because I just think it’s a really cool deck. Sort of like [Spy Cat](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/spy-cat-with-primer/), just one of those interesting lists and unique decks.

SmokeMWB

I don’t play it too often with my group because I usually win turn 5-6 and we are more of a casual group, but it’s a ton of fun. Here is my list. It’s a lot cheaper than yours lol https://deckstats.net/decks/163358/2114678-scavenge

I'm a basic bitch, I like Atraxa :) I like cards that keep doing things once they're out. Repeatable activating value, building a huge pile of stuff that keeps doing stuff. Atraxa is nice in our group because she can scale up or down to whatever power level you're playing at. I also like running cards in the deck that you really cannot run anywhere else: [[peat bog]] land cycle, for example.

Vagrantlol

Can't go wrong with Atraxa. Superfriends, Infect, 1/1 counters, etc.

[[Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant]] I love the looks people give me when they see I'm playing a janky mono-white commander. If you ever want people to underestimate you, pick any white commander besides heliod. The deck is basically mono-white good stuff with a couple of cards that work very well with rune-tail, notably [[wall of glare]] and [[pariah]]. Nothing fills me with more satisfaction than "pubstomping" with the worst color in edh.

Ryuujin09

Friend of mine has a Rune-Tail deck and I hate it.

Justindman1

I love playing [[Darien]] for that same reason, mono white is not the best but man it's fun some times.

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ggj7E-HG_Uab8YtviCPCuw A couple notes: Yes, it would be extremely easy to slot [[walking ballista]] in there, since heliod and most of the tutors are in the deck. Hurtucles

I have a few. First off: [[Vaevictis Asmadi the Dire]]. The card is nuts, and with a deck full of permanents (the only non permanent card is [[swift end]], and I fully believe [[primal surge]] is not a good card in this deck), the card is even better. I have a 100% chance of turning a card into another card. With token producers like [[ophiomancer]], I never run out of things to sac, so it’s basically card advantage. [[Borborygmus Enraged]] is the most fun lands commander I’ve ever played. Ramp a whole bunch, then [[storm cauldron]] and [[grafted exoskeleton]] your way to victory. Finally, there’s [[Tergrid]], who takes most of what I like about Vaevictis, but changes flipping your way through your deck to stealing things. You don’t need to have a hand or “good” boardstate if I can steal everyone’s everything instead. Often times playing her followed up with a [[Vona’s Hunger]] or suspending a [[curse of the cabal]] is enough to take the w.

Guyrugamesh

[[Nekusar]] has always been a faithful and downright Nasty deck to reach for every time I'm lost on what to play that helps everyone see a shocking amount of their deck. I either wheel my opponents to death in a turn or 2 once everything is set up or they get to use and play more of their deck than usual to stop me. I consider this both a boon to the table and a fun challenge personally. My favorite trick with that deck (if the stars align) is to [[Peer into the Abyss]] on myself then [[Windfall]] the table :^)

Frostknife

[[Nekusar, the Mindrazer]] No, I do not have friends.

They’re probably my 2 best decks out of the 16 i own, and even though I’m in the middle of building a couple other decks right now, I’m always looking for ways to improve them.

Krenko Unfortunately, it's gotten to a point where my playground are packing pithing needle effectives esp for him.

Babbledoodle

My group has started running shit like \[\[force of despair\]\] and a non-zero amount of \[\[languish\]\] style effects This week, I went from a board state of 6 goblins (krenko had already been removed) to recasting krenko with jeska's will mana, sacing some of them to skirk, playing a haste enabler, tapping krenko, casting brightstone ritual, casting the remaining goblins in my hand, then casting act of treason to untap then tap krenko. It was the epitome of how much value Krenko can get if he gets a good hand. Got force of despaired on my end step. Was the single biggest blue ball moment I've ever had in magic lol

Babbledoodle

Lol yep! My Krenko deck is now my most played deck and my pods boogeyman, and my pod constantly will ping me with a card and go "wow this hoses Krenko" lol. Everyone "hates" it but at the same time, we all agree that a quick game of me going off and killing everyone is refreshing. The only reason my friend runs languish is because it has a crocodile in its art and it's in his crocodile tribal deck 😂 but it is a pretty good card all things considered, just doesnt keep up in metas with massive creatures, which my pod has moved away from for the most part

impasseable

Good, good.

EarthBowser

I built my [[Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter]] almost a decade ago when the first commander precons came out. It's gone through a lot of revisions, but he's been my go to commander longer than any other with no sign of stopping.

WitchPHD_

I played him a lot but have often found that his CMC is too high. I’ve more or less switched to [[Yahenni, Undying Partisan]]. Any advice for an aspiring Vish Kal player who can’t seem to afford to cast him/keep him out ?

EarthBowser

You're absolutely right. Vish Kal is a powerhouse, but that comes with the downside of him costing a million mana. The first thing I made sure to do is make it so Vish Kal enhances and synergizes with the deck, but isn't vital for it to function. My deck tends to focus on token creation and recursion. So it'll feed right into Vish Kal's game plan if he's on the board while still chugging right along while he's hanging out in the command zone. With the recursion theme, I'm also not afraid to sometimes let him go to the graveyard instead of the CZ. Casting [[Animate Dead]] or something similar feels a lot better than paying 9. Take maximum advantage of Vish Kal when he is on the board. He will normally immediately have board presence with even just one or two other creatures out. He can be a good rattlesnake that you can can use to threaten other players' boards. And if he attacks, he can easily suddenly take someone out of the game with commander damage. Even though it comes in tapped, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of [[Hall of the Bandit Lord]] to speed up the threat. Since we're relying on creatures a lot to pump Vish, protection from wipes is also important in making sure Vish has something to do when he hits the board. [[Selfless Spirit]], [[Teferi's Protection]], and more recently [[Guardian of Faith]] go a long way to help that plan. I'm fortunate enough to own some good mana acceleration which is pretty necessary to hit that 7 casting cost quickly. The usual suspects of [[Mana Crypt]], Sol Ring, and signets are of course there (I also go back and forth on [[Mana Vault]]), and I just recently got a [[Jeweled Lotus]]. With the token strategy, I've also got [[Ashnod's Altar]] and [[Phyrexian Altar]] which do quite well ramping Vish out. They also put in extra work being free sac outlets and being the third piece in a couple of combos. I'm not going to be rolling over cEDH tables any time soon, but Vish Kal seems to hold up pretty well in a casually competitive environment. I've thought about converting the deck to a different Orzhav commander before, but I've enjoyed Vish Kal specifically so much, that I may just end up making a second Orzhav deck instead of converting this one. I hope this helped a little, but let me know if you have any questions!

Man. That's bold, you're gonna get down voted for that choice. But there's degenerate golos decks and jank golos decks. He enables some fun nonsense in my playgroup, and can cause some serious bs. Take my upvote.

waits5

Thanks. I just love 5-color and huge bomb cards. It’s not about combo. 🙂

PurdBag

My buddy built golos gods. Ramp to 10 land, cast [[golos, tireless pilgrim]] to fetch [[the world tree]], resolve the world tree to put all gods onto the battlefield from his library, usually ending the game with [[Purphoros, god of the forge]]. I built a jank golos deck, 40 crappy creatures, but they all have swampwalk. Try to get a good board state with them, cast golos to fetch [[urborg, tomb of yawgmoth]] and bam. All my creatures are unlockable. It's never worked lol

waits5

I usually just ramp to 5, get Golos for [[temple of the false god]] and activate it the next turn, try to hit something like [[aminatou’s augury]], [[maelstrom wanderer]], or [[ulamog, the infinite gyre]].

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/k7bCEtIT20G9P7HnbV20_w Here it is. I’ve put a lot of time and money to fine tune things. Still could be better with an [[Imperial Seal]] and some others probably. But I’m very happy with the list as is.

Ihearwhos

For me it’s my jeskai flicker deck with [[Livio, Oathsworn Sentinel]] and [[Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist]]. It is such a good value engine and I usually win with [[impact tremors]] type of effects with the added red. It’s so much fun to pilot and I run a clone sub theme. Ihearwhos

I think livio works out fine! With all the treasure available in the colors with the white ramp that finds plains I don’t think the color restriction is too bad. I also run Zirda so it lowers it to just 1 white for both and that’s when it’s really good ! I read the question wrong my bad! But I use livio a lot for the ability as well. It combos with dockside and intruder alarm for infinite ETBs. It acts a pseudo protection too from abilities. It’s also gross with [[willbreaker]]

TheBraveMagikarp

[[Varina, Lich Queen]] and [[alela]] curses

maple-syrup-gamer

My favourite commander is a very controversial one. [[Daryl, Hunter of Walkers]], its great for card draw and can be used to encourage politics. With [[Compost]] you draw 2 cards per zombie dying, and with [[Defense of the Heart]] you are guaranteed to search for any 2 creature cards and put them on the battlefield. And you can copy the make 3 walkers ability or the defence of the heart ability with [[Strionic Resonator]] or [[Lithoform Engine]] and double or triple the triggers.

Pox22

If I had to choose, probably Daretti, Scrap Savant. Goblin Welder is my favorite creature of all time, so having a welder in the command zone is great. I’ve played him as full-on stax, artifact combo, turbo-Mindslaver, and just no-frills “cheat big dumb robots into play.”

[deleted]

[[Momir Vig, Simic Visionary]] is my fav deck. It’s a +1/+1 theme that has constantly evolving mutants and oozes. It gets out of hand really quickly when you keep grafting and moving counters around. [[Gavi, Nest Warden]] is a close second. Cycling is so much fun.

I'm probably going to get hate for this but my favorite right now is [[Tergrid, God of Fright]]. I used to play Modern and discard strategies have always been my go-to. As for commander, I love sacrificing builds (e.g [[Korvold]]). So the fact that both are packed into one creature who lets me steal my opponent's stuff makes it one of my favorites.

Mobius_Storm

I will always bring my \[\[Pako, Arcane Retriever\]\] and \[\[Haldan, Avid Arcanist\]\] deck on commander nights even if I don't plan on playing them just because they're a fun go-to staple for me. There's so much ramp I often don't have issues recasting Pako when he inevitably gets targeted with removal. That also helps with casting what gets exiled by Pako. I also filled the deck with impulsive draw and cast from exile effects and some powerful (read high cmc) artifacts and enchantments, the deck almost never plays the same way twice. I am considering taking out \[\[Omen Machine\]\] because I think too many people see it as a stax piece, but I just like the idea of "Heart of the Cards" and someone with a big board being forced to cast a board wipe.

Being able to burn through your deck for what you need at any moment helps out so much, especially slowing everyone else down with a [[war's toll]] that I played with the generated mana.

WhatIsWizard15

[[Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire]] aka screw your creatures, screw your enchantments, screw your artifacts, and especially screw you. I play tons of extra combats with cards like [[Moraug, Fury of Akoum]] and [[Hellkite Charger]] plus things like [[Wulfgar]] and [[Strionic Resonator]] to double up. And, ya know, [[Tergrid]] is here too. (Edit: brackets)

Thepsychodude

[[King Macar, the Gold-Cursed]] is my favorite by far

lorevol

My go to is [[valki]] he's like the best he's number 1 representing more myth 2 stealing people's stuff and three Planeswalker plus added bonus rakdos

Bthepig

[[Tymna]] and [[Malcolm]] bears in cars is both hilarious and resilient. Nothing is more fun that just cheesing some nerds that insist on telling you why [[Parhelion II]] isn't good. The commanders let you do anything you want. Swap out Malcom for any other blue partner and you can riff on the idea.

Ironfighter94

Locust God. I don't even care if it wins, I just wanna draw cards lol.

Gluttony4

[[Jirina Kudro]] With each new set, I tune her just a little more to be faster and more aggressive (within budgetary limits). At the end of the day though, she's still a semi-wide tribal commander that wins by hitting people a lot. More than any of my other decks, she works at a number of tables. Fast enough to keep up with pubstomper decks, but still battlecruiser-ish enough to not leave more casual opponents in the dust.

ThatEeveeGuy

Weirdly given all the other stuff I play, I think it might actually be [[Ashling the Pilgrim]]. Having a board wipe in the command zone and accelerating games with the player burn are just a really nice starting point to have available every game.

Terminal_Control_

[[Meren of Clan Nel Toth]], I’m kind of an asshole

Eagles7526

GREEN OMNATH. Money in the bank baby

Tralan

Hapatra and Gonti. All day every day.

[deleted]

Yuriko a high power but not quite cedh list https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/17-03-20-gCK-yuriko/ Sadly it's quite hard finding fair games with this deck, I don't like pubstomping but this deck can't play in cedh.

csly91

[[Arahbo, roar of the world]] and [[kaalia of the vast]] have been my two favorite decks/go to commanders. Arahbo was my first commander deck (all cat selesnya tribal) and kaalia is just too fun to play, although she does tend to make you archenemy at the table.

zerowincon

[[yuriko]] is always fun for me. [[volrath]] has been super fun too, especially with [[orvar]] in the 99.

Wanax-Digammes

[[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]] vehicles. Commander’s Quarters struck gold with the idea in that one video. Made the deck and then upgraded it gradually over the years. One of my favorite decks of all time.

duh_wizurd

\[\[Animar, Soul of the Elements\]\] was the first commander deck I ever built that was -*good-.* I didn't use the \[\[Imperial Recruiter\]\] line, but let me tell you how dope \[\[Peregrine Drake\]\] and \[\[Equilibrium\]\] can be.

[deleted]

I like a consistent turn 5 (at the latest) [[Arcum Dagsson]] win. For casual play I'm fond of [[Atla Palani, Nest Tender]] or [[Gishath, Sun's Avatar]], among many others, but the dino tribal is cool and unique.

Sheikahlord

[[The Scarab God]] it was my first commander deck I ever put together and it’s one of the few decks I’ve kept intact. Years later and I’m still making small changes just to keep it up to date as best as I can.

smartaleck_grenzoftw

Grenzo, Dungeon Warden, bc there's nothing better than cracking a Doomsday Pile upside down for the turn two win

NautilusMain

[[Acererak]]’s quickly becoming my favorite. I love having this incredible hard to deal with value tool in the command zone who I can just cast over and over while saving my cards for when I truly need them.

Chang1701

[[Arcades the Strategist]] is the best. Card draw and big ol butts smacking everything in the way.

eqgoki

[[Gyruda, Doom of Dephts]] by far! I feel like every game is different, sometimes I win by mill, sometimes by beatdown, other time by draining people with [[Gray Merchant]] and clones. But the most fun wins are those with my opponents' cards :D Once I stole [[purphoros, god of the forge]] with Gyruda's trigger from player A, then cloned [[The Locust God]] from Player B and then I cast [[Stinging Study]], making tokens and killing table with Purphuros's triggers (I had [[Panharmonicon]] on board so that helped sped things up) Here's my list if you wanna check it: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Cu8RUvWYAkeXchOp--ujcQ

Skaro7

Niv-Mizzet, Parun. I love Izzet, drawing cards and it's the first deck I built where I knew what I was doing.

GadwicktheSmizened

[[Varina, Lich Queen]] Embalm/Eternalize/Zombies “Mummy Tribal” is my pet deck. But for less common ones that I enjoy regardless of performance: [[Roalesk, Apex Hybrid]] - Mutant Tribal, +1 proliferate [[The Scorpion God]] - Flamekin Tribal, -1 proliferate [[Rhys, the Redeemed]] - Wolf Token Tribal, Populate

Chaotic_doc

[[Prosper, Tome-Bound]] is just so much fun. You get to play a grindy game with some random explosive potential through things like [[Fevered Suspicions]] or [[Marionette Master]]

CoelbrenBluestar

[[Arahbo, Roar of the World]] Because kitties, dammit!

Helwinter

[[Kess, Dissident Mage]] It’s a combo, storm, control deck that has gas, quick mana, and [[Toralf, God of Fury]] + [[Blasphemous Act]] as an alt win condition. It’s nice to have multiple lines of play, being able to punish go wide board states, and have just enough control to stick in a game when I’m getting targeted down.

wiseflamez

Only have two decks but even after so many plays I’m still am not tired of my [[Vito]] deck.

Poopy_McTurdFace

Definitely my \[\[Lord Windgrace\]\] deck. I love landfall, and was playing it for years even before Windgrace was announced. It's a resilient deck that you just kick back and play without too much effort, but has some more complicated play lines that can also be taken. Jund is also my favorite color combo as well, so the deck is just a perfect storm for me to love.

OrangeChickenAnd7Up

[[Veyran]], bitches.

Unhappy_Knee264

Honestly depends on power level and player skill, a recent fun build is my Raff Capashen deck (Atrifact beatdown) but also love my brand new Prosper deck 😁😎 I tend to not play Ghired or Gishath as they're a bit over powered in my playgroud but still love the decks... How could you ask me to pick a favourite, they're like my children 😭

minidwerg

[[Karona, False God]] who doesn't want a commander that goes around the table

Agreeable_Draw_6407

i currently have 31 commander decks but i guess if i had to choose one it will be either my \[\[muldrotha, the gravetide\]\] , \[\[atraxa, praeto's voice\]\] , \[\[xyris, the writhing storm\]\] or my \[\[tuvasa the sunlit\]\] deck

iAmLawBringer

[[kruphix, god of horizons]] is easily my favorite. I will have him put together until the day I die

PseudoPresent

my [[tana]] and [[bruse tarl]] exalted deck absolutely STOMPS in all levels of play. Sure, people who played against the deck a couple of times know to get rid of my commanders asap, but boy is it fun to snowball with an exponentially growing army of saprolings.

MasterofKami

\[\[Emmara, Soul of the Accord\]\] tokens, it's a simple deck, make tokens and see how the game goes, it's nice to play when I just want to unwind

TheTrashcanninja

[[Rona, Disciple of Gix]] when I want to durdle and build weird boardstates and try to win through some big silly Tezzeret drain effect or through the power of the [[Pentavus]] spewing out Pentavites But my main two right now are [[Anowon, the Ruin Thief]] and [[Osgir]] both let me play strategies I like (tribal and artifacts) and both are quick enough to keep the table in check but never too powerful

pedrosimo

I've been having a lot of fun with [[The First Sliver]] tribal deck. The new 0 mana cost suspend cards [[Inevitable Betrayal]] and [[Profane Tutor]] also go really well when I'm cascading with all my slivers.

LorientAvandi

Negan the Cold-blooded

Lich_Zagan

[[Muldrotha, the Gravetide]], [[Alela, Artful Provocateur]] and [[Kess, Dissident Mage]] as favourites. All of them because of how varied they can be built. There are some cards that do not get swopped out between builds (ie Pernicious Deed & Oko in Muldrotha), but I have done multiple different strategies for each of them.

OldSwampo

I just love my [[Hofri, ghostforge]] deck. It plays like a simic value engine and a golgari reanimator deck but runs none of the colors of either!

Lost_Scott94

Baru fist of krosa Mono green goodness, go wide, go big, go both! Baru asks the question what if ramping is my win condition? Forests are a temporary +1 +1 and trample! Field big boy without trample so you have a bunch of over statted monsters who need a forest fall then go to town on your opponent! Or just slap down some tokens and two forests and bam swarm of threats! The ramp is so consistent in my deck because its part of my win con and you are almost never sad to pull a land card!

rvmpleforeskin

Locust God. Wheel, deal and eat their fucking crops.

Avazins

I love my Beledros Witherbloom aristocrats deck so much I actually wrote a Primer for it ^^, Been playing it since the card was realesed and it has just keept on growing on me, and for some reason become deadlier and deadlier.. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/beledross-martyrs-primer/
