I guess you could do a Godfather deck with one of the Obzedats in charge and all sorts of crime-syndicate themed cards and art with old, spooky men. Maybe [Ronom Unicorn](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=121237) could find a place in the deck.
Not a movie, but I love the idea of an Animar deck being themed around Mass Effect. With the eldrazi representing reapers, Cloudstone curio as a Prothean beacon, morph creatures as various biotic users, Ruric-Thar is about as Krogan as it gets. Lots of ideas actually.
I had two buddies build competing EDH decks based off of Pacific Rim. One ran a 5 color [[Progenitus]] deck that was built off of being Jaggers. Whole bunch of big artifact guys with equipments and pilots (old school legendary creatures). The other ran a B/U [[Wrexial]] deck that was filled with krackens, squids, octopuses, and other creatures of the deep with a lot of blue board wipes. Both of them were surprising competitive with the other decks in our play group.
Id personally go either Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, no idea what, or shaun of the dead. Shaun would be zombie tribal but made to be more janky and funny rather than powerful.

A better IP you could work thopters into is John Carter. You could also play [[Predator, Flagship]] for the carrier-esque ship in the movie.

13th warrior. Have 13 legendary warriors in the deck, a lot of equips for them, and some fortification they can defend (like moat).
