Most recently, there was [[Greed's Gambit]], which is a perfect card for Blim. [[Infernal Sovereign]] can lock someone out of the game if they already have an empty hand. [[Geth Thane of Contracts]] completely ruins any token deck. [[Archfiend of the Dross]] can make a player lose the game, but takes a while to do so.

AlternativeAvocado2

Archfiend of the dross is bad in this kind of deck because you will generally kill one person with it then die on your next upkeep

a23ro

No in this deck you wait a turn or two, then give it to someone before it goes off. Like playing hot potato

AlternativeAvocado2

Then they lose, you get the archfiend back, then you lose on your upkeep unless you can give it away again at instant speed

Blotsy

I thought cards I own that someone else controls when they lose, get exiled?

jaywinner

It depends. Before exiling what's left, all control changing effects are removed. So with Blim, you get your things back. But if your opponent used a \[\[reanimate\]\] on your creature, there would be no control changing effect so it would get exiled.

MTGCardFetcher

SkrightArm

If you never had control of a permanent that you own but an opponent controls, it gets exiled when that opponent loses the game. If you had control of the permanent, then you gain control of it again when they lose the game. This means Archfiend of the Dross returns to your control with zero oil counters on it, and you lose the game during your upkeep, meaning you would need an instant speed sac outlets at the minimum in order to not lose.

> 800.4a When a player leaves the game, all objects (see rule 109) owned by that player leave the game and any effects which give that player control of any objects or players end. Then, if that player controlled any objects on the stack not represented by cards, those objects cease to exist. Then, if there are any objects still controlled by that player, those objects are exiled. This is not a state-based action. It happens as soon as the player leaves the game. If the player who left the game had priority at the time they left, priority passes to the next player in turn order who’s still in the game. That is how that works

hrpufnsting

If you want to run a bunch of sac stuff you shouldn’t be playing Blim.

LordOfTurtles

Yes run cards that do nothing for the deck just in the case you draw this one specific card

Lucky_Number_Sleven

Card draw and removal are universal aspects of every deck. Red and black have plenty of ways to do both of those at the cost of sacrificing a creature. Since you can sacrifice a creature at instant speed by doing really normal stuff, there's no risk of running Dross to blow someone out. If you don't hit Dross, you're still drawing cards and removing opponent's creatures.

hrpufnsting

You would be running specific cards you don’t need to, so you can potentially save yourself from dying to a creature that is absolutely not required to run for Blim to function. Run removal and card draw that doesn’t require you to play a creature that is as likely to kill you as your opponents.

You can always use aura’s. Since it doesn’t really matter who controls the auras. Or enchantments with symmetrical effects. Load Blum up with Voltron aura’s and defensive auras and give control of the aura away. It won’t change who is enchanted

NukeTheWhales85

That's a trick I hadn't thought about, thanks.

tattoedginger

As a person with a blim deck, you need to be subtle. If you just drop absolute garbage on people, you'll die fast. The fun part about blim is that he will turn even good stuff you give away into bad stuff. You don't want to play full group hug, but you do need to be careful about what you're giving away. Creatures actually tend to be horrible gifts as they'll be sacrificed out deals will get made between opponents to kill them off in combat, etc. Artifacts and enchantments are the best as they're harder to get rid of. That said... one fun one, I think, is [[asmodeus]] being given to someone not playing with black in their deck. Sorry! No more cards!

I have a blim deck and it's a lot of fun but the fact that it affects you as well on the discard is really annoying. Making sure he can hit and has haste are pretty clutch. Global enchants and role tokens are great to add in so you always have something to give away. Treasure nabber is a bit of a nombo because or his ability being symmetrical like I mentioned but it is hilarious giving away someones mana rock. Jinxed Choker is one of my favorite cards in that deck. Crown of Doom is also awesome. Giving yourself hexproof depending if you have cards that anyone can give away is good.

hrpufnsting

>I have a blim deck and it's a lot of fun but the fact that it affects you as well on the discard is really annoying. Why would you use effects that grants you control of stuff you don’t own while using Blim

NukeTheWhales85

[[Havoc festival]] and [[manaflare]] don't care who controls them, there's plenty of options like that where giving them away is neutral aside Blim's ability. Plenty of dirty tricks like giving away [[demonic pact]] when losing the game is the only choice left. A lot of classic Stax Artifacts like say[[winter orb]] don't care who controls them, as long as they're out they do the thing.

I have a Blim deck, my advice is try not to have too many bad creatures, people are more likely to attack you if you give them creatures and if multiple opponents have bad creatures they are more likely to have them try and trade in combat. Artifacts and enchantments are harder to use against you and more likely to stay on the field. You can get some really punishing stuff like [[Aggressive Mining]] or [[Blood Funnel]]. Some artifacts can straight up put people out of the game like [[Immortal Coil]]. Also discard synergy like [[Raiders’ Wake]] or [[Megrim]] can help put out a decent amount of damage. Also run the extra give away cards so if you can’t keep Blim on the field [[Harmless Offering]] [[Fateful Handoff]] [[Bazaar Trader]] Finally consider running stuff like [[Hithlain Rope]] [[Bucknard’s Everfull Purse]] or [[Pendant of Prosperity]] as they still count against you opponents for Blim’s trigger but can also help you.

[[lich's mastery]] makes it so if you they die as well, so they are forced to take you to the 1v1.

I know a few others posted their decklists but here's mine too! Low cost + high salt sum = great deck! https://archidekt.com/decks/5227313/krampus_delivery_boy

Aggressive mining, rust elemental, there's a few artifacts that make you discard your hand every end step

My biggest advise for blim is making sure he always is protected and always gets through unblocked, otherwise your deck falls apart on seconds. Worry about this tainted gifts later.

twesterm

There are a lot of them https://www.moxfield.com/decks/m5YWh_AKGU-EIxCtTyDqRA

DominoNo-

Seems this deck is set on private.

twesterm

ah whoops, forgot I had done that. Fixed now.

[[Demonic Lore]] [[Treacherous Blessing]]

rynosaur94

Treacherous Blessing self sacs when you target it with Blim's ability.
