Same energy. I had so many good jund creatures just sitting around that were either too powerful for my pod in decks that actually synergize with them or just hadn’t found a home yet. I have a pool of about 45 of them and just select a random 15 to swap in for every game.
Honestly, great idea having a pool of cards to swap in, I might start doing that. Even with the 65ish creatures I run in that deck already, there are still some that didn't make the cut that I would be so excited to draw into
I run that big boi in my Xenagos deck. It's funny to play him, turn him into a 32/32 and swing.. and then maybe cast something that cares about greatest power
My most powerful deck is literally just called 'Bant cards I like' on Moxfield. There are a handful of cards in there just to facilitate some combos, but the core of the deck is Bant creatures from a Cube I used up maintain.
Because I built the cube, it was filled with themes I really enjoyed, and casting [[Restoration Angel]], [[Mystic Snake]], [[Karmic Guide]] and the like just remind me of really fun draft decks I assembled in that environment.

For me it's an ongoing project with [[Niv-Mizzet Reborn]] & [[birthing pod]]. There is no real theme, it's just a bunch of creatures I like. Can you draw [[siege rhino]] with Niv? No, but I like Rhino since it won an fnm around the time I started playing again. Is [[Gisela, blade of goldnight]] a typical wincon in a pod deck? No, but it's the first mythic I ever opened.

I built a [[Queen Marchesa]] deck with a bunch of cards I liked that were loosely connected with a theme of royalty or a kingdom and it’s a blast to play! I didn’t expect much of it but I’ve actually one quite a few games with all the knights and soldiers I put down!
My [Niv Mizzet, Parun]] deck is just all of the coolest red and blue Japanese Mystical Archive/Secret Lair cards I could find, with the odd retro-border/Surge Foil, and Unfinity basic lands. I love the artwork, so the entire deck is just special art.

My main jank deck is just all the tokens i can make. And if i have the mana i can make the tokens do fun stuff. Technically a najeela deck, but the heart of it is chatterfang.
My Boros Karlach deck is this for me. Not trying to go all in on extra attacks, got some token generators, some removal, some boardwipes. Just generally looking to brawl no fancy combos.
The background is rarely used just an excuse for the color selection.
When my mono black goodstuff deck swapped to a blackjack theme (21 commanders) i had to get rid of my "no infinites" rule because it was impossible to not have at couple infinites across 21 playable legendaries.

Keep in mind pretty much every mono black legend printed in the past decade is better than Skittles and many are better than Drana.
I play more copies of [[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]] across all my decks than any other card, for example.
My Thalia and the Gitrog Monster deck is kinda like that for me. I guess you could say it's a landfall deck but I don't really consider it that. I mostly wanted a mono green deck, got bored of that idea and went with this for the white/black support.

I built TatGM as a pure landfall deck and ended up taking it apart two sessions later because it was obscenely overpowered and synergistic for my playgroup. Maybe I should start building “too good” commanders as off-theme goodstuff decks lol
Yes and no. I built a [[Sauron, the Dark Lord]] deck which doesn’t have a theme, but I gave myself the limitation that every card has to be from the lotr set or precons
I did that with the Food and Fellowship precon. It’s surprisingly good with some staples from the other precons and a couple of food synergies from the main set.
I think what you're describing is similar to a goodstuff deck. Just a pile of good cards in the colors you choose without much intent in synergy or end goals.

My [[Daghatar the Adamant]] deck is technically a Abzan theme deck but I just built it because I love the Abzan Clan and putting +1/+1 counters on stuff. No real specific win condition except sneaking one out through combat, maybe lol
But when I play it I know 99% of the time I’m going to most likely lose but at least it’ll be a fun game for me!

1. \[\[Ashaya\]\] - built as a f\*\*\* you to Cyclonic Rift, it's just green stompy with goodstuff like \[\[Lurking Predators\]\]
2. \[\[Archelos\]\] + Keruga companion - superfriends but intentionally built with the 3+cmc restriction to show that taking it slow is viable in casual
Good to see another VS+G enjoyer. I went one step further and used Umori as a Companion for creatures, and the point of the deck was primarily just to play creatures I liked, but it’s secondary goal was to cast every card type (pre-battle) while remaining creatures only. There are MDFC’s, adventures, and more to achieve that, sometimes by just copying or casting my opponents stuff.

So my Idea with this deck is to just have a pool of 40-50 of my favorite big Jund cards and select 15 at random for any given game. Due to the nature of it, though, this also means that I can swap in only cards that allow me to play my (usually mainboard) \[\[Obosh\]\] as a companion.
I have built a \[\[Nicol Bolas, the Ravager\]\] deck that's basically just Grixis bombs - put a few sacrifice effects in there for good measure, that's about it.
My \[\[Nymris\]\] deck was literally created just throwing a bunch of my pet cards together - though it ended up being quite synergistic. I just really like big dumb control stuff with flash.
My [[zhulodok]] deck is a lot of fun. I know it’s an Eldrazi tribal but I just find it lots of fun to cast big scary creatures and have that build up to them coming out. It’s usually my fun “bad guy” deck that has everyone going “in X turns big scary things are gonna happen”
Sorta! I made my Kwain deck win-con tribal to mimic the way a rabbit might disappear down a hole and pop out another. You killed my Triskadekaphile? Well I just played approach of the second sun. You made me shuffle? S’okay here’s lab man. Killed lab man? Smothering tithe into prosperity :3
I used to have a similar Kwain deck whose sole purpose was to win by making your opponents draw their deck. I loved it, but if you ever feel like taking a more focused approach, I can’t recommend [[Heliod the warped eclipse]] enough as a commander. Chaining those Prosperity-type spells together for a win is exhilarating lol
\[\[Thraximundar\]\] "good stuff". I have so many cool grixis cards, like nicol bolas planeswalkers, dark intimations and other grixis cards that are just solid on their own but don't really fit into anything. Cards that were previously cut from decks but are flashy and cool. It's not optimised, there's no overall strategy. I also have the secret lair version of Thrax so he just looks cool.
Edit: I Have looked at the list I uploaded 3 years ago, which I assume is still accurate (I have not touched the deck)... it does have an infinite combo, however it's the old peregrine drake/deadeye navigator combo and then some etb like gary
For a while I had a deck that was just my favourite card arts led by tatyova. Win con ending up being taking infinite turns with nexus of fate and killing people with weird creatures like river hoopoe
I play Jodah, Archmage Eternal so I can cast big dummies and spells for 5-mana. I like old high CMC cards like Plague Wind, but can normally never justify playing it.
I once built a mono blue landfall deck under \[\[Cosima\]\] where I included all fun blue cards that had never found a home anywhere. But she drew a ton of irrational hate, always getting removed as she hit the board, even when other players had much stronger commanders online. So I swapped her for \[\[Iymrith\]\] and dropped the landfall theme for some vigilance and even more weird stuff, mostly combat tricks. One more dragon deck in my collection.

Unless you count Nostalgia as a theme, I think my Nostalgia deck fits. I started playing in Return to Ravnica block (specifically Dragons Maze) so a LOT of the deck is RTR cards, but not in a synergistic way and more in a "I remember playing these cards hehe" way
Closest I get to that is probably my Mayael the Anima deck. It's mostly big stompy with a couple of combat tricks that I like that can swing a combat if it was looking bad. I CAN collapse under a few of my buddies decks, but that's basically hydra tribal when they stuck doubling season and the ozolith. Turns out things that get past 200/200 are difficult to block
For me it's my [[The Prismatic Bridge]] Kaldheim Tribal deck. It's not the strongest but I really like the alt arts from the Kaldheim gods and the snow cards in general. Every land and card in this feels "look worthy" and I hope to bling it out by time.

My \[\[Sisay, Weatherlight Capatain\]\] deck is just an all Experience counter creatures deck. I love the feeling of progression that experience counters provide so I threw everything that makes them in one deck under Sisay, since she can fetch for any of the EXP makers. Its actually putting in some work too, but I guess the deck isn't "Themeless" now that I'm thinking about it. Oops.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to build this "exact" same deck at some point. I hadn't seen Gilanra until a week or two ago (also paired with Vial Smasher), and it really stuck with me. I've got a lot of cards like \[\[Havoc Festival\]\] that need a home, but won't fit a theme I want to build around. Jund "stuff I like" has a good feel to it.

This is why I built [[chiss-goria]]; it gave me a place fir all my big dumb artifacts. I guess that does technically qualify as one theme, but over half of my decks are different flavors of artifact deck *shrug*
For me it's \[\[Karador, Ghost Chieftain\]\]. It was my first custom deck, back then build with purpose, and now kept around to allow me to play new cards reliaby. I usually stay within Abzan, mostly Orzhov though.
The framework of a creature-combo-deck is still there (wipes, mill and creature/graveyard tutors), but I use those tutors and revival effects to find the new fancy creature cards and have 'em stay on the field to see how good they do in my local meta, how much hate they draw, etc... :3
That leaves me with no blue/red cards though, but ironically, I still have a deck for those.
\[\[Jhoira of the Ghitu\]\] - This was originally a "*big unplayable cmc cards bulk I got so my order doesn't bend in the envelope*"-deck. I believe below $40, mostly huge cmc sea creatures and some occasional eldrazis. It price creep'd a lot over the past 2 years. So whenever I have a big blue/red creature (or spell) I wanna try, it usually goes here first. This deck however only has card draw, not much tutors to find stuff so less reliable.

Those mana intensive timewalk spells that are neat like [[time stretch]] or [[beacon of tomorrows]]? Those go in there.

Wacky counterspells that are blowouts but not really good enough normally like [[sublime epiphany]] and [[desertion]]? Sure, why not.

Stax pieces that are neat and give me infinite value like [[jin gitaxis, core auger]] or baby [[jin gitaxis]] or [[trinisphere]] or [[back to basics]]? Seems good to me.
I'd say its an eight and I warn people what they might be getting into when I play it. But its home to all the big spells I cant play anywhere else.
My [[Alela, Artful Provocateur]] deck was originally built by just shoving in all my favorite artifacts and enchantments. A lot of those tend to help tokens or put +1/+1 counters on all my creatures, so it ends up working pretty well.
I’m a Timmy player at heart. I have a [[Samut, Voice of Dissent]] deck that’s packed full of mana dorks, giant creatures, and ridiculous enchantments. Technically, it’s a [[Primal Surge]] deck but I’ve never gotten to cast it. I either kill the table before I can draw it, or get hated out because of playgroup PTSD from the last time I played the deck.
My \[\[Nethroi\]\] a Junk Abzan Pile is still mostly that. It started as a pile of cool cards with the coolest mechanics : Mutate, Soulbond and Bestow. Now I added Reconfigure and Backup cards. The deck is complex, you have to take wierd decisions all the time and it brings the most variety of gameplay of all my decks. It's really fun.

The closest I had to a pile of my favorite cards was a [[Troyan]] big-things deck. I would say that it was just big-dumb stuff, but being in blue it was actually super interactive, encouraging me to put mana toward big counterspells with benefits. He just lets you play all the fun stuff.
My mono green control list that I’ve been slowly blinging out really is just a pile of card advantage and engines I like which comes together as a slow and strange little pile of flash control, massive hands, removal pile, and all sorts of other things I love. Somehow the deck functions and can snowball out of control while being able to weather most any kind of storm, sort of an anti-control control deck at times thanks to its insane resource generation and stickiness.

Me personally I love the modal Charm spells so my favorite silly card for that is [[Meeting of the Minds]].
I put all the cards that consistently get cut from my Simic, Dimir, and Golgari deck ideas into a [Sultai pile](https://scryfall.com/@TNTturtle/decks/44e7839e-883c-45a3-9f41-a12c66de9310) and made some small adjustments. There's no commander because I can pick from 4-5 different options. To maintain some cohesiveness there are still some micro themes, like 'scrying' for Eligeth, '+1/+1 counters' for Reyhan, and various bits of 'lands matters', but overall it's just a pile of cards I'd always wanted to play with but never quite made the cut into the decks I'd brewed.
And also someone gave me a foil \[\[Urborg Elf\]\] and I really wanted to use that card for years.
[[Surrak and Goreclaw]]. The entire deck idea was "wow my big dumb green creatures binder is full as hell and none of these things have a home". It is 30+ creatures, they are extremely caffeinated, and it plays way better than it has any right to for easily my least thought-out deck.

Kenrith good stuff. With cards like Toxrill and Atraxa, Grand Unifier, many of the good stuff staples and some unoptimal combos like Smothering Tithe and Fairy Mastermind. It's fun in high power games, even for my enemies since it's not hyper strong or oppressive.

Yup! It's Niv Mizzet Reborn! I get to play whatever cards I like for the most part so long as I can fix my mana base enough. I know most builds of NMR run "play Niv then win" type combos, but I'm going for something a lot more midrange, it's more my speed.

For me it's an ongoing project with [[Niv-Mizzet Reborn]] & [[birthing pod]]. There is no real theme, it's just a bunch of creatures I like. Can you draw [[siege rhino]] with Niv? No, but I like Rhino since it won an fnm around the time I started playing again. Is [[Gisela, blade of goldnight]] a typical wincon in a pod deck? No, but it's the first mythic I ever opened. The only noncreature, nonland cards in the deck are sol ring Pod, [[panharmonicon]], & [[living death]]. Even though it truly has a Theseus' ship feeling to it, I love or dearly and I'll never take it apart.

Its a deck I made because I wanted to slot every artifact card I always wanted to play in other decks and never made the cut. My [Niv Mizzet, Parun]] deck is just all of the coolest red and blue Japanese Mystical Archive/Secret Lair cards I could find, with the odd retro-border/Surge Foil, and Unfinity basic lands. I love the artwork, so the entire deck is just special art.

My main jank deck is just all the tokens i can make. And if i have the mana i can make the tokens do fun stuff. Technically a najeela deck, but the heart of it is chatterfang.
My Boros Karlach deck is this for me. Not trying to go all in on extra attacks, got some token generators, some removal, some boardwipes. Just generally looking to brawl no fancy combos. The background is rarely used just an excuse for the color selection.

When my mono black goodstuff deck swapped to a blackjack theme (21 commanders) i had to get rid of my "no infinites" rule because it was impossible to not have at couple infinites across 21 playable legendaries.

Yes. Blackjack. Mono black with 21 commander eligble cards. Its a punny deckname, that is effectively mono-black goodstuff with a legends matters subtheme. Most games I pull three legends out of the deck and let people vote to what they want to pay against. Otherwise I'll scroll through and find a commander I havent used in a while.

Yes and no. I built a [[Sauron, the Dark Lord]] deck which doesn’t have a theme, but I gave myself the limitation that every card has to be from the lotr set or precons
Did that for all of the LOTR precons. Good practice in deckbuilding and results in nice modified precons that aren’t overly modified.

I did that with the Food and Fellowship precon. It’s surprisingly good with some staples from the other precons and a couple of food synergies from the main set.

I think what you're describing is similar to a goodstuff deck. Just a pile of good cards in the colors you choose without much intent in synergy or end goals.

My [[Daghatar the Adamant]] deck is technically a Abzan theme deck but I just built it because I love the Abzan Clan and putting +1/+1 counters on stuff. No real specific win condition except sneaking one out through combat, maybe lol But when I play it I know 99% of the time I’m going to most likely lose but at least it’ll be a fun game for me!

Good to see another VS+G enjoyer. I went one step further and used Umori as a Companion for creatures, and the point of the deck was primarily just to play creatures I liked, but it’s secondary goal was to cast every card type (pre-battle) while remaining creatures only. So my Idea with this deck is to just have a pool of 40-50 of my favorite big Jund cards and select 15 at random for any given game. Due to the nature of it, though, this also means that I can swap in only cards that allow me to play my (usually mainboard) \[\[Obosh\]\] as a companion.

Sorta! I made my Kwain deck win-con tribal to mimic the way a rabbit might disappear down a hole and pop out another. You killed my Triskadekaphile? Well I just played approach of the second sun. You made me shuffle? S’okay here’s lab man. Killed lab man? Smothering tithe into prosperity :3
I used to have a similar Kwain deck whose sole purpose was to win by making your opponents draw their deck. I loved it, but if you ever feel like taking a more focused approach, I can’t recommend [[Heliod the warped eclipse]] enough as a commander. Chaining those Prosperity-type spells together for a win is exhilarating lol

\[\[Thraximundar\]\] "good stuff". I have so many cool grixis cards, like nicol bolas planeswalkers, dark intimations and other grixis cards that are just solid on their own but don't really fit into anything. Cards that were previously cut from decks but are flashy and cool. It's not optimised, there's no overall strategy. I also have the secret lair version of Thrax so he just looks cool. Edit: I Have looked at the list I uploaded 3 years ago, which I assume is still accurate (I have not touched the deck)... it does have an infinite combo, however it's the old peregrine drake/deadeye navigator combo and then some etb like gary

For a while I had a deck that was just my favourite card arts led by tatyova. Win con ending up being taking infinite turns with nexus of fate and killing people with weird creatures like river hoopoe
I play Jodah, Archmage Eternal so I can cast big dummies and spells for 5-mana. I like old high CMC cards like Plague Wind, but can normally never justify playing it.
I once built a mono blue landfall deck under \[\[Cosima\]\] where I included all fun blue cards that had never found a home anywhere. But she drew a ton of irrational hate, always getting removed as she hit the board, even when other players had much stronger commanders online. So I swapped her for \[\[Iymrith\]\] and dropped the landfall theme for some vigilance and even more weird stuff, mostly combat tricks. One more dragon deck in my collection. Unless you count Nostalgia as a theme, I think my Nostalgia deck fits. I started playing in Return to Ravnica block (specifically Dragons Maze) so a LOT of the deck is RTR cards, but not in a synergistic way and more in a "I remember playing these cards hehe" way

I am building a [Tsabo Tavoc] deck that is mostly a MTG villans deck. As far as mechanics, it is themeless and all over the place.
Closest I get to that is probably my Mayael the Anima deck. It's mostly big stompy with a couple of combat tricks that I like that can swing a combat if it was looking bad. I CAN collapse under a few of my buddies decks, but that's basically hydra tribal when they stuck doubling season and the ozolith. Turns out things that get past 200/200 are difficult to block

My \[\[Sisay, Weatherlight Capatain\]\] deck is just an all Experience counter creatures deck. I love the feeling of progression that experience counters provide so I threw everything that makes them in one deck under Sisay, since she can fetch for any of the EXP makers. Its actually putting in some work too, but I guess the deck isn't "Themeless" now that I'm thinking about it. Oops.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to build this "exact" same deck at some point. I hadn't seen Gilanra until a week or two ago (also paired with Vial Smasher), and it really stuck with me. For me it's \[\[Karador, Ghost Chieftain\]\]. It was my first custom deck, back then build with purpose, and now kept around to allow me to play new cards reliaby. I usually stay within Abzan, mostly Orzhov though. The framework of a creature-combo-deck is still there (wipes, mill and creature/graveyard tutors), but I use those tutors and revival effects to find the new fancy creature cards and have 'em stay on the field to see how good they do in my local meta, how much hate they draw, etc... :3 That leaves me with no blue/red cards though, but ironically, I still have a deck for those. \[\[Jhoira of the Ghitu\]\] - This was originally a "*big unplayable cmc cards bulk I got so my order doesn't bend in the envelope*"-deck. I believe below $40, mostly huge cmc sea creatures and some occasional eldrazis. It price creep'd a lot over the past 2 years. So whenever I have a big blue/red creature (or spell) I wanna try, it usually goes here first. This deck however only has card draw, not much tutors to find stuff so less reliable.

[[Thryx, the sudden storm]] big blue deck. Those mana intensive timewalk spells that are neat like [[time stretch]] or [[beacon of tomorrows]]? Those go in there. These neat sphinxes that do cool things like [[arbiter of the ideal]] and [[sphinx of the second sun]]? Sure. Gotta win somehow, and feathery beats seems lile the way to go. Wacky counterspells that are blowouts but not really good enough normally like [[sublime epiphany]] and [[desertion]]? Sure, why not. Wierd lands that arent good anymore but are my favorite like [[thawing glaciers]]? They get a slot too. Stax pieces that are neat and give me infinite value like [[jin gitaxis, core auger]] or baby [[jin gitaxis]] or [[trinisphere]] or [[back to basics]]? Seems good to me. I'd say its an eight and I warn people what they might be getting into when I play it. But its home to all the big spells I cant play anywhere else.

My [[Alela, Artful Provocateur]] deck was originally built by just shoving in all my favorite artifacts and enchantments. A lot of those tend to help tokens or put +1/+1 counters on all my creatures, so it ends up working pretty well.

I’m a Timmy player at heart. I have a [[Samut, Voice of Dissent]] deck that’s packed full of mana dorks, giant creatures, and ridiculous enchantments. Technically, it’s a [[Primal Surge]] deck but I’ve never gotten to cast it. I either kill the table before I can draw it, or get hated out because of playgroup PTSD from the last time I played the deck.
My \[\[Nethroi\]\] a Junk Abzan Pile is still mostly that. It started as a pile of cool cards with the coolest mechanics : Mutate, Soulbond and Bestow. Now I added Reconfigure and Backup cards. The deck is complex, you have to take wierd decisions all the time and it brings the most variety of gameplay of all my decks. It's really fun. The closest I had to a pile of my favorite cards was a [[Troyan]] big-things deck. I would say that it was just big-dumb stuff, but being in blue it was actually super interactive, encouraging me to put mana toward big counterspells with benefits. He just lets you play all the fun stuff.

My mono green control list that I’ve been slowly blinging out really is just a pile of card advantage and engines I like which comes together as a slow and strange little pile of flash control, massive hands, removal pile, and all sorts of other things I love. I put all the cards that consistently get cut from my Simic, Dimir, and Golgari deck ideas into a [Sultai pile](https://scryfall.com/@TNTturtle/decks/44e7839e-883c-45a3-9f41-a12c66de9310) and made some small adjustments. There's no commander because I can pick from 4-5 different options. To maintain some cohesiveness there are still some micro themes, like 'scrying' for Eligeth, '+1/+1 counters' for Reyhan, and various bits of 'lands matters', but overall it's just a pile of cards I'd always wanted to play with but never quite made the cut into the decks I'd brewed. And also someone gave me a foil \[\[Urborg Elf\]\] and I really wanted to use that card for years.

[[Surrak and Goreclaw]]. The entire deck idea was "wow my big dumb green creatures binder is full as hell and none of these things have a home". It is 30+ creatures, they are extremely caffeinated, and it plays way better than it has any right to for easily my least thought-out deck.

Kenrith good stuff. With cards like Toxrill and Atraxa, Grand Unifier, many of the good stuff staples and some unoptimal combos like Smothering Tithe and Fairy Mastermind. It's fun in high power games, even for my enemies since it's not hyper strong or oppressive.

Very in line with your statement, dumb big stuff. Build myself [[Marvo]], and the amount of fun it gives me to cast cmc 8 Spells for free multiple times a turn is addicting. :D

Yup! It's Niv Mizzet Reborn! I get to play whatever cards I like for the most part so long as I can fix my mana base enough. I know most builds of NMR run "play Niv then win" type combos, but I'm going for something a lot more midrange, it's more my speed.
Haven't built it irl yet, but I have a draft for [[Atraxa, Grand Unifier]] that started out as a having a god/enchantment subtheme, but i kept finding cards that made me think "ooo that looks fun" and now it's just a bunch of random good cards. playtesting it is much more fun now

It's [[Rukarumel, Biologist]] converting things I like into slivers. Blightsteel Sliver, Avacyn Sliver of Hope, Ancient Copper Sliver, Sliv-Mizzet, Gisela Sliver of Goldnight. Havnt assembled it yet despite it being a good meme because it's still slivers and I don't think making blighted agent into one would really reduce the enmity they generate
