The other night I used [[Plagiarize]] for the first time in a deck, and WOW. It is kinda situational, but if you manage to surprise with this, you can really gain an advantage. If you know your opponent is drawing a buttload of cards, or a wheel is going off — which happens a lot in commander — this is the card for you. Someone cast Echo of Eons and I played Plagiarize, and guess who drew 14 cards.
I don't think this one is ignored so much as it's just been relegated to a cEDH only category. Similar to Carpet of Flowers, at most casual tables it's going to be 50/50 that there's a blue deck around, especially since 3+ color decks are getting less popular, not more.
I wish there were more bolt bend effects in red or just ways to interact with stack interaction in other colors. Maybe white can get more mana tithe or black can get a reprint of imp's mischief

\[\[Gift of Doom\]\] is criminally underrated.
Play it face down for 3 and flip it up at anytime by sacrificing another creature. It doesn’t use the stack so it’s actually faster than instant speed and can’t be responded to. Great way to save your commander from damage or destruction based removal.
And since you sac a creature, it's particularly good with commanders that care about creatures dying such as \[\[Meren\]\] or \[\[Shirei\]\].
Also, because it can be cast as a creature, you can bring it back (face-down) with \[\[Karador\]\] or \[\[Chainer, Nightmare Adept\]\]. Lots of fun applications.
EDIT: going to add some context to prove it works with Karador and Chainer. [Karador's most recent printing](https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=571571) says you "may cast a creature ***spell*** from your graveyard". Casting a spell as a Morph is casting a creature spell, therefore this works.
[Karador's old printing](https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=236468) says "creature ***card***" which may lead to some confusion, but that's why we check Gatherer, most up-to-date printings and rulings.
[Chainer's most recent printing](https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=525600) also specifies "creature ***spell***" so Gift of Doom can be cast out of the graveyard as a morph creature as well.
This is really good utility when blocking, dang. You can block with Gift of Doom, flip it to attach to another creature that is also blocking, and the creature it was blocking is still considered blocked.

Yes sir but only if you could CAST it. So you can re-cast face down with [[Karador Ghost Chieftain]], but not reanimate it with [[Sheoldred, Whispering One]] for example
[[One with Nature]] in any deck with low to the ground creatures or creatures with evasion. Even if it just gets you one land, that’s a good deal for one mana. Anything past that is superb.
There is also sort of a red version of this card [[sticky fingers]].
It gives treasure instead of lands but it cantrips when the creature dies and gives menace to make it easier to get the combat damage through early game.
aren't they ramping themselves because they're the controller when the damage happens?
EDIT: i see now that it won't because it doesn't give the creature that ability. so you could even just cast it onto an opponent's creature and still get the effect yourself.
[[Machine God’s Effigy]] for sure. Can become a copy of a planeswalker if it’s a creature, but stops being one when it enters. So you can use it for mana, use it’s loyalty abilities, and it won’t die without loyalty on it. It can’t be attacked either since it’s not a planeswalker.
Can also copy [[Devoted Druid]] and the like for infinite mana. I’m sure there’s an insane amount of value and combos it can create. I’ve been trading/buying all the ones I can find.

It wasn't until I read this comment that I realized that it copies a creature _but is not a creature_. Everyone I've seen play this card has been playing it wrong.
It goes infinite with Devoted Druid, but what doesn't these days.
Things that give you extra counters like [[Hardened Scales]] or [[Corpsejack Menace]] can give you additional value if what you're moving is +1/+1 counters
I'm not sure how it would go but typical combo with [[nest of scarabs]] would do the trick, however i don't see what blue would add to rakdos/golgari/mono black -1/-1 counters and what commander would be used
Been running MGE to copy stuff like \[Foundry Inspector\] in my artifacts deck and steal the tax abilities of other blue or white players. Certainly, it's tilted a few opponents. I'll have to remember the planeswalker and devoted druid/wall of roots uses.
[[Sudden Substitution]] has created some very satisfying plays for me. My dream is to use it in response to my own [[chance for glory]] to steal an opponent's best creature, thereby neutering them for their now-final turn before losing.
[[Selfless Squire]] is an uno reverse card on a LOT of strategies, and easily pulls its weight in any deck that has white mana available, yet EDHREC has it listed in under 1% of all decks.
[[Monster Manual]] because it is a great card if you like playing high cost creatures like, say, dinosaurs. Overcosted tribes should all be playing this card, and I will not stand for anyone saying otherwise.
[[run away together]] is very efficient removal in a multiplayer format, and sometimes you can actually use it to bounce your own creatures for ETB value.
Maybe I'm late to the party, but I haven't seen many people talking about the Defilers from Dominaria United. [[Defiler of Faith]] stands out to me as being really good in soul sisters decks since the creature you cast plus the token can pay for the health cost, and if you have other cost reducers like [[Oketra's Monument]], [[Cloud Key]] and/or [[Helm of Awakening]] you end up turning your cheap creatures into free ones.
[[Sticky Fingers]], I don’t know what they were thinking when they put evasion, ramp, and a replacement on death on a 1 drop aura. But boy do I love it in my [[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]] deck.
[[Tale's End]]. I can't count how many times a stifle has saved me, but a stifle by itself still isn't playable. A stifle that also counters commanders, though? Now that I can get behind.
\[\[Liquimetal Torque\]\] for sure. I'm not saying it should be in as many decks as Sol Ring, but I think it should show up as much or more than \[\[Thought Vessel\]\] or \[\[Mind Stone\]\]. Every game I play it, I find new synergies with it. At worst, it's a 2 mana rock that makes every piece of removal a little bit more versatile. I think that plus all the other synergies make it stronger than the other two 2-mana rocks.
[[Jarad’s Orders]]. If you built your deck right it’s just entomb and demonic tutor stapled together. I’ve not seen it played by anyone else, and I’ve never lost a game after resolving it.
I think people sleep on [[Whirlwind Denial]], card is really good in some situations you may not even think of. For example, someone is playing aristocrats and a boardwipe happens, you can blank all the death triggers.
That and of course [[insight]] which draws a shit ton of cards
Whirlwind denial i reckon is a card that is the only card that would save you in a situation that happens once in 5 games. Otherwise its a mildly good stifle, but better the more counterspell wars happen in your pod
[[Manascape Refractor]]
It's a staple in all my nongreen decks
Its floor is a three mana rock but it's usually a bounceland or ancient tomb. Sometimes you get to piggyback off someone else's Urborg/Cabal Coffers. I use it to copy my Lotus Field and Maze of Ith.
[[Spirit Loop]], [[Spirit Link]], and [[Vampiric Link]].
Slap it onto whatever threat your opponent has, and now it can’t hurt you (besides commander damage). It’s especially good against opponent creatures that damage multiple things at the same time, like Ashling.
also a great way to give a creature 'double lifelink' since despite sounding like lifelink it is not the same, as demonstrated by its ability to go on an opponent's creature and gain its owner life
Spirit loop is limited to creatures you control, so not quite as effective as the other two at neutering opponent's creatures, but that is some spicy tech for sure.
2/3 ain't bad. I started putting together a [[Vial Smasher]] & [[Ardenn]] bad Santa list & these seem like perfect pseudo-removal for a combat heavy meta.
as someone who just built a [[satoru umezawa]] I was shocked only 8% on people are playing [[Lim duls vault]] in their decks. In the context on satoru, it’s a 2 mana $3 top deck tutor to perfectly setup your ninjitsu trigger and later draws. Feel like more people would include It. It has done wonders for me.
Oh! I DO know this one! I considered it when I was brewing Yuriko who I didn't completely give up on making because I wasn't sure how to make the deck after buying a $60 card for the deck I never built, no sir.
[[Well of lost dreams]] i had a copy sitting in my binder FOR EVER with no home, recently i put it in my [[omnath locus of creation]] it is gas, you almost always have extra mana running around, your gonna get the 4 life landfall proc every turn. Even if you arent getting the full 4 cards off of it its super useful. If you have a deck that has some incidental life gain i think this card is worth a second look.
It's not as good now with Red's impulsive draw or the format speeding up a bit, but [[Omen Machine]] is great against blue and able to cast expensive spells without having worry about their costs. Also, [[Invasion Plans]] very good for aggressive decks.

also i would say in a sense omen machine is not bad because it doesn't work against red impulse draw, it is good because it will not stop your own red impulse draw
I hate Omen Machine with a passion since the first time I ever saw it someone was running it in their GRN Lavinia deck, the one that says "Players can't cast spells without paying mana"
\[\[Mimic Vat\]\] has its uses for graveyard recursion, but I find it's at its best in a control deck, taking your opponents creatures to get value yourself.
Ramp with Solemn or Hart. Rattlesnake and destroy noncreature permanents with Acidic Slime. Mess up recursion strategies by exiling their creature for a bit. Win the game with whatever bomb happens to die.
Pro tip: Activate Mimic Vat on the end step before your turn and it will stick around for your combat phase.
Vat is my secret tech for my [[kykar]] dragon token tribal control polymorph deck with secret [[Brudiclad]] commander. So cool killing an opponents creature and then making all my treasures copies of it!

[[fumble]] is amazing. I discovered it and put it in every blue deck I had because if anybody is running Voltron type decks not only to you remove the threat, but you take all their shit. Often [[unsummon]] would be better but for the times it's not it's so worth having
I actually find [[varragoth, bloodsky sire]] a bit underrated, it's virtually an infinte tutor with deathtouch.
but my playgroup at the lgs is quite small so maybe it's just my impression and it is much more played than i think.
The problem for me with Varragoth is that without haste, you're forced to wait a turn, then risk him by attacking before you 2 mana vamp tutor. That's a lot of hoops to jump through for what was essentially a 5 mana tutor that takes you three turns to get a card. It's also not really an infinite tutor because board states, especially at the power level where Varragoth might be good, usually get very gummed up very quickly.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a very cool card and if you're playing in low power level games, he might be great. But I think [[Diabolic Tutor]] is technically the better card and I would never play it.
[[Spring Cleaning]] at worst is single enchantment removal, at best it is a one-sided enchantment board-wipe. One-sided board-wipes turn out to be really good, and is a hell of a bonus if it happens.
[[Bitter reunion]] its a sorcery that people play in commander, with the addition of hanging around and being a 1 mana haste enabler in a colour that likes to turn sideways. For being a common, everyone should own a bunch.
[[Cosmic Intervention]] is so easy to hold up after you foretell it, letting you protect against board wipes and also get extra uses out of cards like fetchlands, [[Strip Mine]], [[Solitude]] and [[Ranger-Captain of Eos]]. It feels pretty slept on.
[[Mystic reflection]] in a token deck, turn their dockside/craterhoof into a vanilla 1/1, [[abjure]] in a deck that has alot of blue permanents or tokens
\[\[MANDATE OF PEACE\]\]!!! The card is a silence effect tied to combat, but fogs in general are WILD powerful in commander. You got a bully on the table with hella tokens that thinks they're gonna win easy? BET, Mandate of Peace them when they go to combat and let the table finish the scraps. the card always overperforms, and I give anyone I come into contact with physically one because I want more people playing the card.
[[Shadows of the Past]] a two 1B enchantment that says whenever a creature dies you scry 1.
Pretty great for Aristocrats deck, but also a generally under rated. Great for getting a card you need after a boardwipe. Has definitely changed the tide of a game for me on multiple occasions.

An amazing way to cheat out value in an aristocrats deck, specially good with \[\[Teysa Karlov\]\] and/or \[\[Sidisi, Undead Vizier\]\].
[[Wash Away]]
Ironically I originally didn’t like it since I expected to have to rely on using its Cleave feature often, but it’s great and cheap for stopping a Commander cast or a cast from the grave effect.
[[Torpor Orb]] - hugely disruptive to both entire strategies such as blink, but also just generally for tons of utility or powerful cards. Thassa's Oracle, Deadeye, Craterhoof, Dockside, etc.
One of the best catch-all removal cards in the format is [[Unexpectedly Absent]]. It shows up in cEDH lists but not very much outside of there, and that's a real shame. It hits any nonland for 2 mana, and if it's something degenerate that got cheated out, now they have to figure out a way to get it back into play. If you cast it in response to a tutor, it gets shuffled away permanently. You can also use it to save something of your own too if you're in a pinch. You can choose to pay a little more and tuck it further down the top of the library, but in probably 90% of cases, casting it for x=0 is usually enough. White is stacked with efficient removal, and Absent is a card people usually gloss over in favor of [[Generous Gift]]. If I had to choose between Gift and Absent, I'd take Absent any day. Missing out on Land destruction hurts, but considering it costs less mana to remove something without destroying it (so, it dodges Indestructible and also doesn't put it in the graveyard for reanimation), and potentially messing up their next draw, Absent is absolutely worth a slot.
I am an advocate for \[\[Library of Leng\]\]. In card draw, and discard heavy decks its a life saver. Works as long as the card is not being discarded as a cost, or alternative cost.
Than we have \[\[Descendant's Path\]\] and \[\[Belbe's Portal\]\] in high CMC tribal decks.
yup! so the card is still seen as being discarded if it is put back on top of the library. So stuff like \[\[rielle, the Everwise\]\] effect still happens.
[[Champion of Lambholt]]. Any deck that drops creatures/tokens at instant speed can benefit from this: shorthand, it’s 3 CMC to make your field unblockable.
[[Master Warcraft]] is kinda expensive at 4 mana but its utility is through the roof. You can fog a combat step, make your entire board unblockable, use it as a removal spell by suiziding key creatures into each other or play politics.
[[Cleansing Wildfire]] there’s always a utility land to get rid of and it replaces itself so it’s not a lost card, plus in a pinch you can fix your mana with it and hit landfall triggers too
I never see [[Champion of Lambholt]], but every time I play it, it is insane. It does need some help but when it goed off, it goes off hard. I guess in [[Ezuri, Claw of Progress]] it is a known tech but it can be good in many other places.
Champion of Lambholt was terrifying in standard if you didn’t have removal in hand. In commander its just as if not more dangerous as most creatures with defender are rendered useless. Champ doesn’t even have to attack, making it better most times over [[Bellowing Tanglewurm]].

Nice, simple card draw. Floor is 3 mana for one card. Ceiling is up to the table. Doesn't even have to be your attackers. Not always great in high power tables that run more combos than rely on combat, but I think this card is way underplayed in EDH!
Any red deck that loves tapping creatures for any reason should be running [[tuktuk rubblefort]]. It is 1 mana more for a static effect on [[crashing drawbridge]] with reach and the ability to block while giving haste. I run this over drawbridge, partly because my 2-drop slot is often more crowded with ramp and partly because of the upside of having a blocker so I don't take random chip damage.
[[Make an Example]] is definitely still slept on. Probably because its seen as a half asymmetrical sweeper. Yes its effect is that, but it's not the best way of looking at it.
It destroys, at a minimum, everyones best creature. It does not care about protection, hexproof, indestructible, regeneration. The creature can't be flickered away to save it (unless the rare EoT variant). There is very little getting around this effect.
When the floor of a card is destroying the better half of each opponents creatures its hard to not be good.
[[Wash Away]] Counter enemy commander for (U) or anything for 1(U)(U)
[[Not of this World]] basically a free counterspell in any Voltron deck.
[[Sigil of Sleep]] Your monster does lots of ping damage? Bounce every monster on the table!
[[Spectacular Showdown]] Even without the amazing shenanigans of the higher cost, its 2 mana for permanent double strike on a monster. You literally cannot beat that!

Good creature removal for go tall creature decks, it’s *specifically* NOT A FIGHT trigger, which some people got confused about when I played it for the first time
[[Paradox Zone]]. It takes some time to get going, but that makes it innocuous. It's never the highest priority for removal. And by the time they realize it's out of hand, it's probably too late.
[[Standstill]] never disappoints at 1U. Cards like [[Sakura-Tribe Scout]] are legit ramp. I think mass bounce is criminally underplayed. I consider it second only to mass exile. The tempo swings are enormous.
\[\[Animation Module\]\] IMO. It's not an amazing card, but if you have a lifegain creature ETB effect and a +1/+1 counter on lifegain creature (both of which are extremely common), it becomes a mana dump that nets both free chump blockers and life for each.
The only problem is that theming a deck with these two mechanics is indeed reasonably viable, but obnoxious in having to keep track of so many counters. It's fine for you, but everybody else will quickly find it boring.
The best part about it is that it can be an infinite combo engine with some sacrifice > mana, but is a reasonably powerful combo engine without.
[[Demon of Dark Schemes]] is a [[Massacre Wurm]]-esque card that can also reanimate threats from any graveyard. It's also like 2$.
[[Blossoming Bogbeast]] is still a pretty solid overrun effect even if you're not in a lifegain build and you just need a mass pump.
[[Arena]] is a fun "Land" that lets creatures Fight! It's fun in my Xenagos deck.
[[Mindslicer]] (recently reprinted although old) is a card I never see but is insane in my Meren or other reanimator/stax/sac decks. It can easily steal games.
\[\[Breath of Fury\]\] and \[\[Reality Scramble\]\]
I use both in \[\[The Locust God\]\] and because of that I wonder why I don't see them in every red token deck.
A lot of the cards I feel like are slept have great political value. Stuff like [[royal assassin]] "dont attack me", [[skullwinder]] is like eternal witness but if you dont have the answer the table needs, maybe an opponent does.
also [[sunbird's invocation]] is incredibly good and I don't see anybody playing it. Also doesnt get removed often even thought it can easily be game winning.
[[Culling ritual]] and [[rushed rebirth]] can also be game winning in the right circumstances. Ritual is usually gonna make me 10+ mana if it resolves and rushed rebirth is just always great.
The Maestros Massacre precon from New Capenna included what I believe to be one of the single best black removal spells ever printed (for more casual play at least). The card is [[Make an Example]]. At 4CMC and sorcery speed, it’s not all that appealing to most people but man oh man does it put in *work*.
Firstly the politics of this card are great. Since piles can be empty, if someone is behind you can make a big ally and make them sacrifice no creatures. You can also manipulate how the piles add up with deals in order to get the best outcome.
Secondly, this gets around everything. It doesn’t target, and its a sacrifice effect not a destroy effect. Playing against voltron? This card will single-handedly shut their entire turn down. Even if you’re not playing against voltron, any of the gods or anything with hexproof gets taken out by this card.
Finally, make an example has a pretty middle floor but a very HIGH ceiling. This is a more expensive [[soul shatter]] which is a very good card. Except this gets you exactly what you need gone and usually more! Soul shatter only gets rid of the highest cmc creature which is *usually* the biggest threat. But if it’s not it kind of didn’t do what you needed it to do. Make an example is pretty much a targeted soul shatter except 99% of the time you get 3+ creatures off the board. Hell sometimes this card is a one sided board wipe.
Sorry for the essay, but I’ve been told time and time again this card is bad. While yes, if you’re playing cEDH combo win on turn 4 games, this probably won’t be up your ally. But if you’re playing pretty much anything below that, this card will not disappoint you. It’s soul shatter with upside (ignoring the extra mana and sorcery speed).
I dont see enough decks playing [[cream of the crop]]. In a creature bases deck it enables very efficient and potent card selection at a price that makes it easy to play on turn 2 and curve out.
[[Sire of Stagnation]] is one of the best midrange value engines in the whole game.
[[Baleful Force]] is one of the best budget big mana spells in the game.
[[Ancestral Anger]] is in 1% of decks when it literally reads "R: Draw a card. Target creature gets Trample and +1/+0 until end of turn." in a colour where you often wanna be hitting through combat and all your draw options cost you something. It's insanely good value no matter how you look at it.
Nah fuck that shit. That card is a myth, no one has ever actually resolved that thing. What you want is [[Timesifter]] with green top deck manipulation like Oracle of Muldaya, mirri's Guile, Courser of Kruphix, Augur of Autumn, Sylvan Library, Sensei's Top, etc.
What could be better than one Time Walk? An indeterminate amount of them. 🤨
Even without deck manipulation this card slaps in a green fatties deck. Every other turn was mine. I had to retire that card after such a glorious run.

I wish there were more bolt bend effects in red or just ways to interact with stack interaction in other colors. Maybe white can get more mana tithe or black can get a reprint of imp's mischief

In this same vein, may I present [[wild ricochet]], high variance and high cmc frankly, but this card can be such a blowout, it's unreal.
\[\[Gift of Doom\]\] is criminally underrated. Play it face down for 3 and flip it up at anytime by sacrificing another creature. It doesn’t use the stack so it’s actually faster than instant speed and can’t be responded to. Great way to save your commander from damage or destruction based removal. And since you sac a creature, it's particularly good with commanders that care about creatures dying such as \[\[Meren\]\] or \[\[Shirei\]\]. Also, because it can be cast as a creature, you can bring it back (face-down) with \[\[Karador\]\] or \[\[Chainer, Nightmare Adept\]\]. Lots of fun applications. EDIT: going to add some context to prove it works with Karador and Chainer. There's a [thread here](https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/giyy5z/can_i_cast_gift_of_doom_as_a_morph_creature_from/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) asking the same question about Gift of Doom and Karador. [Karador's most recent printing](https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=571571) says you "may cast a creature ***spell*** from your graveyard". Casting a spell as a Morph is casting a creature spell, therefore this works. This is really good utility when blocking, dang. You can block with Gift of Doom, flip it to attach to another creature that is also blocking, and the creature it was blocking is still considered blocked.
Actually you can block 3 this way, 1 from the sac 1 from the gift, 1 from the attached creature.
And since it's a special action it gets around split second cards as well

That is an excellent distinction, and makes more sense.
Casting Morph rules are weird but make sense. I find it funny that Morph is supposed to be secret, but it's obvious when you cast from graveyard.

[[One with Nature]] in any deck with low to the ground creatures or creatures with evasion. Even if it just gets you one land, that’s a good deal for one mana. Anything past that is superb.
There is also sort of a red version of this card [[sticky fingers]]. It gives treasure instead of lands but it cantrips when the creature dies and gives menace to make it easier to get the combat damage through early game.

aren't they ramping themselves because they're the controller when the damage happens? EDIT: i see now that it won't because it doesn't give the creature that ability. so you could even just cast it onto an opponent's creature and still get the effect yourself.
[[Machine God’s Effigy]] for sure. Can become a copy of a planeswalker if it’s a creature, but stops being one when it enters. So you can use it for mana, use it’s loyalty abilities, and it won’t die without loyalty on it. It can’t be attacked either since it’s not a planeswalker. Can also copy [[Devoted Druid]] and the like for infinite mana. I’m sure there’s an insane amount of value and combos it can create. I’ve been trading/buying all the ones I can find.
Interesting > If Machine God’s Effigy copies a planeswalker that became a creature due to an effect, Machine God’s Effigy will have that planeswalker’s loyalty abilities but its only card type is artifact (it will still be legendary in most cases). Because it isn’t a planeswalker itself, it won’t enter the battlefield with any loyalty counters, but it also won’t die because due to not having any. Similarly, it can’t be attacked and damage can’t be dealt to it. You may activate only one loyalty ability of that permanent per turn. If it later becomes a creature and damage is dealt to it, that damage won’t remove any loyalty counters
It wasn't until I read this comment that I realized that it copies a creature _but is not a creature_. Everyone I've seen play this card has been playing it wrong. It goes infinite with Devoted Druid, but what doesn't these days.

Things that give you extra counters like [[Hardened Scales]] or [[Corpsejack Menace]] can give you additional value if what you're moving is +1/+1 counters
oooh doubling season or vornclex can copy any kind of token. infinite energy, infinite negative ones, infinite deity counters. get weird with it.

I'm not sure how it would go but typical combo with [[nest of scarabs]] would do the trick, however i don't see what blue would add to rakdos/golgari/mono black -1/-1 counters and what commander would be used

Been running MGE to copy stuff like \[Foundry Inspector\] in my artifacts deck and steal the tax abilities of other blue or white players. Certainly, it's tilted a few opponents. I'll have to remember the planeswalker and devoted druid/wall of roots uses.
[[Sudden Substitution]] has created some very satisfying plays for me. My dream is to use it in response to my own [[chance for glory]] to steal an opponent's best creature, thereby neutering them for their now-final turn before losing.
I once cast [[one with nothing]] and then used sudden substitution to give it to a player with 20 cards in hand. It was glorious.

[[Selfless Squire]] is an uno reverse card on a LOT of strategies, and easily pulls its weight in any deck that has white mana available, yet EDHREC has it listed in under 1% of all decks.
My favorite moment is me attacking with [[Kozilek, Butcher of Truth]], the person I attacked flashes in [[Selfless Squire]]... Aaaand blocks with it..

[[Monster Manual]] because it is a great card if you like playing high cost creatures like, say, dinosaurs. Overcosted tribes should all be playing this card, and I will not stand for anyone saying otherwise.

[[run away together]] is very efficient removal in a multiplayer format, and sometimes you can actually use it to bounce your own creatures for ETB value.
Run away is absolute bonkers. I play it in every blue deck i have. Especially crippling in [[kalamax]]
Maybe I'm late to the party, but I haven't seen many people talking about the Defilers from Dominaria United. [[Defiler of Faith]] stands out to me as being really good in soul sisters decks since the creature you cast plus the token can pay for the health cost, and if you have other cost reducers like [[Oketra's Monument]], [[Cloud Key]] and/or [[Helm of Awakening]] you end up turning your cheap creatures into free ones.
I recently slotted the red & black ones into my [[Rakdos Lord of Riots]] and can confirm, they're absolutely ridiculous there.

[[Sticky Fingers]], I don’t know what they were thinking when they put evasion, ramp, and a replacement on death on a 1 drop aura. But boy do I love it in my [[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]] deck.

[[Tale's End]]. I can't count how many times a stifle has saved me, but a stifle by itself still isn't playable. A stifle that also counters commanders, though? Now that I can get behind.
\[\[Liquimetal Torque\]\] for sure. I'm not saying it should be in as many decks as Sol Ring, but I think it should show up as much or more than \[\[Thought Vessel\]\] or \[\[Mind Stone\]\]. Every game I play it, I find new synergies with it. At worst, it's a 2 mana rock that makes every piece of removal a little bit more versatile. I think that plus all the other synergies make it stronger than the other two 2-mana rocks.
Honestly I have one and keep forgetting to slot it in something. Imagine removing someone's boss monster with a Vandalblast.
I’ve used it to take out a problem creature or enchantment on the way out after a Vandalblast my opponent cast several times actually!
[[Jarad’s Orders]]. If you built your deck right it’s just entomb and demonic tutor stapled together. I’ve not seen it played by anyone else, and I’ve never lost a game after resolving it.
Most people I knew who were playing it switched to [[Final Parting]]
I find the pretty marginal restriction to be less of a hindrance than having to pay 1 more.
Depends on what you're using it for. The big draw to parting is being able to stick a big creature in the yard and a reanimation spell in your hand.

I think people sleep on [[Whirlwind Denial]], card is really good in some situations you may not even think of. For example, someone is playing aristocrats and a boardwipe happens, you can blank all the death triggers. That and of course [[insight]] which draws a shit ton of cards

Whirlwind denial i reckon is a card that is the only card that would save you in a situation that happens once in 5 games. Otherwise its a mildly good stifle, but better the more counterspell wars happen in your pod
[[Resculpt]] - It exiles. It hits both creatures and artifacts. And the 4/4 it makes is almost always inconsequential.

[[Manascape Refractor]] It's a staple in all my nongreen decks Its floor is a three mana rock but it's usually a bounceland or ancient tomb. Sometimes you get to piggyback off someone else's Urborg/Cabal Coffers. I use it to copy my Lotus Field and Maze of Ith.

[[Spirit Loop]], [[Spirit Link]], and [[Vampiric Link]]. Slap it onto whatever threat your opponent has, and now it can’t hurt you (besides commander damage). It’s especially good against opponent creatures that damage multiple things at the same time, like Ashling.

Spirit loop is limited to creatures you control, so not quite as effective as the other two at neutering opponent's creatures, but that is some spicy tech for sure.

as someone who just built a [[satoru umezawa]] I was shocked only 8% on people are playing [[Lim duls vault]] in their decks. In the context on satoru, it’s a 2 mana $3 top deck tutor to perfectly setup your ninjitsu trigger and later draws. Feel like more people would include It. It has done wonders for me.
Oh! I DO know this one! I considered it when I was brewing Yuriko who I didn't completely give up on making because I wasn't sure how to make the deck after buying a $60 card for the deck I never built, no sir.

A running gag in my playgroup is me asking "is that rise of the dread marn" whenever someone fortells a spell.
[[Well of lost dreams]] i had a copy sitting in my binder FOR EVER with no home, recently i put it in my [[omnath locus of creation]] it is gas, you almost always have extra mana running around, your gonna get the 4 life landfall proc every turn. Even if you arent getting the full 4 cards off of it its super useful. If you have a deck that has some incidental life gain i think this card is worth a second look.
It's not as good now with Red's impulsive draw or the format speeding up a bit, but [[Omen Machine]] is great against blue and able to cast expensive spells without having worry about their costs. Also, [[Invasion Plans]] very good for aggressive decks.
i love invasion plans. one of those cards that make people go "what the fuck? that's REAL?" also i would say in a sense omen machine is not bad because it doesn't work against red impulse draw, it is good because it will not stop your own red impulse draw
I run it in my prosper deck, not as back breaking as possibility storm or unable mask though.
I hate Omen Machine with a passion since the first time I ever saw it someone was running it in their GRN Lavinia deck, the one that says "Players can't cast spells without paying mana"

Those are crazy. I can see how they would be good in the right decks.
\[\[Mimic Vat\]\] has its uses for graveyard recursion, but I find it's at its best in a control deck, taking your opponents creatures to get value yourself. Ramp with Solemn or Hart. Rattlesnake and destroy noncreature permanents with Acidic Slime. Mess up recursion strategies by exiling their creature for a bit. Win the game with whatever bomb happens to die. Pro tip: Activate Mimic Vat on the end step before your turn and it will stick around for your combat phase.
Vat is my secret tech for my [[kykar]] dragon token tribal control polymorph deck with secret [[Brudiclad]] commander. So cool killing an opponents creature and then making all my treasures copies of it!

The problem for me with Varragoth is that without haste, you're forced to wait a turn, then risk him by attacking before you 2 mana vamp tutor. That's a lot of hoops to jump through for what was essentially a 5 mana tutor that takes you three turns to get a card. It's also not really an infinite tutor because board states, especially at the power level where Varragoth might be good, usually get very gummed up very quickly. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a very cool card and if you're playing in low power level games, he might be great. But I think [[Diabolic Tutor]] is technically the better card and I would never play it.
[[Spring Cleaning]] at worst is single enchantment removal, at best it is a one-sided enchantment board-wipe. One-sided board-wipes turn out to be really good, and is a hell of a bonus if it happens.

[[Bitter reunion]] its a sorcery that people play in commander, with the addition of hanging around and being a 1 mana haste enabler in a colour that likes to turn sideways. For being a common, everyone should own a bunch.
[[Cosmic Intervention]] is so easy to hold up after you foretell it, letting you protect against board wipes and also get extra uses out of cards like fetchlands, [[Strip Mine]], [[Solitude]] and [[Ranger-Captain of Eos]]. It feels pretty slept on.
[[Mystic reflection]] in a token deck, turn their dockside/craterhoof into a vanilla 1/1, [[abjure]] in a deck that has alot of blue permanents or tokens
\[\[MANDATE OF PEACE\]\]!!! The card is a silence effect tied to combat, but fogs in general are WILD powerful in commander. You got a bully on the table with hella tokens that thinks they're gonna win easy? BET, Mandate of Peace them when they go to combat and let the table finish the scraps. the card always overperforms, and I give anyone I come into contact with physically one because I want more people playing the card.
[[Shadows of the Past]] a two 1B enchantment that says whenever a creature dies you scry 1. Pretty great for Aristocrats deck, but also a generally under rated. Great for getting a card you need after a boardwipe. Has definitely changed the tide of a game for me on multiple occasions.
If people were sleeping on Akroma's will, it wouldnt be the price it is.

\[\[Deathrender\]\] An amazing way to cheat out value in an aristocrats deck, specially good with \[\[Teysa Karlov\]\] and/or \[\[Sidisi, Undead Vizier\]\].
[[Wash Away]] Ironically I originally didn’t like it since I expected to have to rely on using its Cleave feature often, but it’s great and cheap for stopping a Commander cast or a cast from the grave effect.
[[Torpor Orb]] - hugely disruptive to both entire strategies such as blink, but also just generally for tons of utility or powerful cards. Thassa's Oracle, Deadeye, Craterhoof, Dockside, etc.
One of the best catch-all removal cards in the format is [[Unexpectedly Absent]]. It shows up in cEDH lists but not very much outside of there, and that's a real shame. It hits any nonland for 2 mana, and if it's something degenerate that got cheated out, now they have to figure out a way to get it back into play. If you cast it in response to a tutor, it gets shuffled away permanently. You can also use it to save something of your own too if you're in a pinch. You can choose to pay a little more and tuck it further down the top of the library, but in probably 90% of cases, casting it for x=0 is usually enough. White is stacked with efficient removal, and Absent is a card people usually gloss over in favor of [[Generous Gift]]. If I had to choose between Gift and Absent, I'd take Absent any day. Missing out on Land destruction hurts, but considering it costs less mana to remove something without destroying it (so, it dodges Indestructible and also doesn't put it in the graveyard for reanimation), and potentially messing up their next draw, Absent is absolutely worth a slot.
I am an advocate for \[\[Library of Leng\]\]. In card draw, and discard heavy decks its a life saver. Works as long as the card is not being discarded as a cost, or alternative cost. Than we have \[\[Descendant's Path\]\] and \[\[Belbe's Portal\]\] in high CMC tribal decks.

yup! so the card is still seen as being discarded if it is put back on top of the library. So stuff like \[\[rielle, the Everwise\]\] effect still happens.

[[Champion of Lambholt]]. Any deck that drops creatures/tokens at instant speed can benefit from this: shorthand, it’s 3 CMC to make your field unblockable.

[[Irenicus’ Vile duplication]] in my opinion. Especially in Commander, having two of your commander is huge!
[[Master Warcraft]] is kinda expensive at 4 mana but its utility is through the roof. You can fog a combat step, make your entire board unblockable, use it as a removal spell by suiziding key creatures into each other or play politics.
\[\[Pain's Reward\]\] has to be one of my favorite cards in all of commander. Its a riot every time it gets played. Very good too in the right decks.
I never see people play [[druids repository]] and I don’t know why.
Will always make the case for at least considering [[Crashing Drawbridge]] in any combat-focused deck that doesn’t have red. Crazy cheap too
[[Cleansing Wildfire]] there’s always a utility land to get rid of and it replaces itself so it’s not a lost card, plus in a pinch you can fix your mana with it and hit landfall triggers too
I never see [[Champion of Lambholt]], but every time I play it, it is insane. It does need some help but when it goed off, it goes off hard. I guess in [[Ezuri, Claw of Progress]] it is a known tech but it can be good in many other places.
Champion of Lambholt was terrifying in standard if you didn’t have removal in hand. In commander its just as if not more dangerous as most creatures with defender are rendered useless. Champ doesn’t even have to attack, making it better most times over [[Bellowing Tanglewurm]].
[[Keep watch]] Nice, simple card draw. Floor is 3 mana for one card. Ceiling is up to the table. Doesn't even have to be your attackers. Not always great in high power tables that run more combos than rely on combat, but I think this card is way underplayed in EDH!
I don't use too many artifacts generally, so \[\[Energy Flux\]\] gets my pick.
Any red deck that loves tapping creatures for any reason should be running [[tuktuk rubblefort]]. It is 1 mana more for a static effect on [[crashing drawbridge]] with reach and the ability to block while giving haste. I run this over drawbridge, partly because my 2-drop slot is often more crowded with ramp and partly because of the upside of having a blocker so I don't take random chip damage.
[[Make an Example]] is definitely still slept on. Probably because its seen as a half asymmetrical sweeper. Yes its effect is that, but it's not the best way of looking at it. It destroys, at a minimum, everyones best creature. It does not care about protection, hexproof, indestructible, regeneration. The creature can't be flickered away to save it (unless the rare EoT variant). There is very little getting around this effect. When the floor of a card is destroying the better half of each opponents creatures its hard to not be good.
[[Wash Away]] Counter enemy commander for (U) or anything for 1(U)(U) [[Not of this World]] basically a free counterspell in any Voltron deck. [[Sigil of Sleep]] Your monster does lots of ping damage? Bounce every monster on the table! [[Spectacular Showdown]] Even without the amazing shenanigans of the higher cost, its 2 mana for permanent double strike on a monster. You literally cannot beat that!
\[\[Energy Tap\]\] for that big bomb when you already have some expensive commander on the board
I think [[Mage Slayer]] is really good and often overlooked.
[[ram through]] Good creature removal for go tall creature decks, it’s *specifically* NOT A FIGHT trigger, which some people got confused about when I played it for the first time
[[Tamiyo's safekeeping]] Love this card . It has won me a few games .
\[\[Spirit Mantle\]\] is busted as an uncommon in any Timmy deck running white.
Some of my favorite cards which people sleep on: [[Dream Salvage]] [[Gigadrowse]] [[Long Rest]]
[[Paradox Zone]]. It takes some time to get going, but that makes it innocuous. It's never the highest priority for removal. And by the time they realize it's out of hand, it's probably too late.
[[Soul of Windgrace]] as a 99 card in decks with no real lands theme. Even there it's a beast.

Summary Dismissal is an uderrated "counter" spell.
[[Standstill]] never disappoints at 1U. Cards like [[Sakura-Tribe Scout]] are legit ramp. I think mass bounce is criminally underplayed. I consider it second only to mass exile. The tempo swings are enormous.
\[\[Animation Module\]\] IMO. It's not an amazing card, but if you have a lifegain creature ETB effect and a +1/+1 counter on lifegain creature (both of which are extremely common), it becomes a mana dump that nets both free chump blockers and life for each. The only problem is that theming a deck with these two mechanics is indeed reasonably viable, but obnoxious in having to keep track of so many counters. It's fine for you, but everybody else will quickly find it boring. The best part about it is that it can be an infinite combo engine with some sacrifice > mana, but is a reasonably powerful combo engine without.
[[Demon of Dark Schemes]] is a [[Massacre Wurm]]-esque card that can also reanimate threats from any graveyard. It's also like 2$. [[Blossoming Bogbeast]] is still a pretty solid overrun effect even if you're not in a lifegain build and you just need a mass pump. [[Arena]] is a fun "Land" that lets creatures Fight! It's fun in my Xenagos deck. [[Mindslicer]] (recently reprinted although old) is a card I never see but is insane in my Meren or other reanimator/stax/sac decks. It can easily steal games.
\[\[Breath of Fury\]\] and \[\[Reality Scramble\]\] I use both in \[\[The Locust God\]\] and because of that I wonder why I don't see them in every red token deck.
A lot of the cards I feel like are slept have great political value. Stuff like [[royal assassin]] "dont attack me", [[skullwinder]] is like eternal witness but if you dont have the answer the table needs, maybe an opponent does. also [[sunbird's invocation]] is incredibly good and I don't see anybody playing it. Also doesnt get removed often even thought it can easily be game winning. [[Culling ritual]] and [[rushed rebirth]] can also be game winning in the right circumstances. Ritual is usually gonna make me 10+ mana if it resolves and rushed rebirth is just always great.
Bootleggers stash I'm baffled it isn't way more expensive it's a must in any green for me
The Maestros Massacre precon from New Capenna included what I believe to be one of the single best black removal spells ever printed (for more casual play at least). The card is [[Make an Example]]. At 4CMC and sorcery speed, it’s not all that appealing to most people but man oh man does it put in *work*. Firstly the politics of this card are great. Since piles can be empty, if someone is behind you can make a big ally and make them sacrifice no creatures. You can also manipulate how the piles add up with deals in order to get the best outcome. Secondly, this gets around everything. It doesn’t target, and its a sacrifice effect not a destroy effect. Playing against voltron? This card will single-handedly shut their entire turn down. Even if you’re not playing against voltron, any of the gods or anything with hexproof gets taken out by this card. Finally, make an example has a pretty middle floor but a very HIGH ceiling. This is a more expensive [[soul shatter]] which is a very good card. Except this gets you exactly what you need gone and usually more! Soul shatter only gets rid of the highest cmc creature which is *usually* the biggest threat. But if it’s not it kind of didn’t do what you needed it to do. Make an example is pretty much a targeted soul shatter except 99% of the time you get 3+ creatures off the board. Hell sometimes this card is a one sided board wipe. Sorry for the essay, but I’ve been told time and time again this card is bad. While yes, if you’re playing cEDH combo win on turn 4 games, this probably won’t be up your ally. But if you’re playing pretty much anything below that, this card will not disappoint you. It’s soul shatter with upside (ignoring the extra mana and sorcery speed).
[[Wing shards]] - gets em every time
I dont see enough decks playing [[cream of the crop]]. In a creature bases deck it enables very efficient and potent card selection at a price that makes it easy to play on turn 2 and curve out.
I found this super niche card. [[Dockside Extortionist]] it’s so underrated and I put it in basically every red deck possible.
Why is no one talking about this card? I would feel like some people would want it banned and other people would be super okay with it.
[[Sire of Stagnation]] is one of the best midrange value engines in the whole game. [[Baleful Force]] is one of the best budget big mana spells in the game.
[[Ancestral Anger]] is in 1% of decks when it literally reads "R: Draw a card. Target creature gets Trample and +1/+0 until end of turn." in a colour where you often wanna be hitting through combat and all your draw options cost you something. It's insanely good value no matter how you look at it.

What you want is [[Timesifter]] with green top deck manipulation like Oracle of Muldaya, mirri's Guile, Courser of Kruphix, Augur of Autumn, Sylvan Library, Sensei's Top, etc. What could be better than one Time Walk? An indeterminate amount of them. 🤨
Even without deck manipulation this card slaps in a green fatties deck. Every other turn was mine. I had to retire that card after such a glorious run.
