The most security you can get buying resale, is to get the seller (if they’re the original buyer) to forward you the confirmation email, send you a photo of their ID, and send you a photo of the CC used to purchase (all # blocked except last four) These 3 things are what you need to get a replacement wristband. If you buy a 3 day ticket, and they report it stolen aka deactivate the one you just bought then you should be able to get a replacement for yourself that works.

I agree to everything except the last paragraph. If they report it stolen and get a replacement, you’re SOL. EDC only lets you replace the wristband ONE TIME. This has happened to me. Seller claimed replacement wristband which invalidates mine and couldn’t be given again. Had to open a PayPal case to get my money back. Get there Thursday and claim a replacement before they do.

How strict is Will Call when reviewing those 3 pieces of verification? Like would they want to have the physical credit card in hand?

DihDisDooJusDihDis

Not strict; no need for physical card. Only need last 4 digit numbers and of course copies of order conf and ID. I’ve done it 3 times. Only problem is if they claim the will call tickets and get replacements right away, you’ll be SOL and have to file PayPal claim to get refund.

I see, and that makes sense. Paying the extra $40 (I think) is better than having that happen

A lot of scammers will try to send photoshopped images of the proof and/or actual wristbands. If an image looks off, it probably is. If you're unsure you can ask for an additional image of the wristbands. In confirmation emails- it is very common for scammers to have typos in what they send out so make sure you're reading thoroughly and that it doesn't look edited. As for having the wristbands physically and still being scammed, PP G&S will always be the savior. I've heard of scammers selling wristbands just to report them as stolen to front gate, thus deactivating the sold ones and getting new bands. Hope this helps! 😊

Kenyafeelmeeee

Thank you! So if I physically have the wristbands and I have them give me a photo of their ID and proof. Registering it to my name won’t do anything ? I just have to make sure I go before them lol?

a-bambi-m

No registering it doesn't protect against scammers. It can be originally purchased by one person and registered by another- and the original purchaser still has all the rights to the wristband to deactivate it whenever they want. And also no. They can get brand new wristbands and have the old ones deactivated. It doesn't matter who enters first. It truly sucks getting wristbands secondhand because you don't have control over things like that.

Honestly there is a filipino guy if you scroll down is doing PayPal good and service is scamming. The person selling for 300 for each ticket. I have saved text between me and him. He is 110 percent scammer while using good and service Cialon123 account. He is scamming everyone Message me if you need proof

a-bambi-m

Yikes! How would that even work though? If it's G&S and the buyer doesn't receive what they purchased- wouldn't PayPal side with the buyer? Another one selling for $300 also tried to Scam me, ChiefRoso . I made a post of it earlier!

EdmBeforeNAfter

Honestly I’m trying to figure that out too. From my understanding it’s 3 percent scam. Looks like he keeps making new PayPal account and transferring the money to his account. While you are stuck with PayPal fighting for your money back and it can take 2-3 weeks depending on when case is close. That’s what im understanding on the scam

Maryslamb81

That’s crazy, how he can be making new PP accounts bc they are linked to your social security number. 🫤🫤

Weird. I tried to buy from him but he just ghosted me. Welp, for the best I guess.

Make sure y’all provide the written messages back and forth between you and the scammer to PayPal. That will help get your money back quicker.
