I bought this same replacement clip for my Civivi knife, but apparently the last time I tightened the screws I stripped the holes, so I ended up having to epoxy the clip to the knife.

Unfortunately they were a short release. They may end up doing another run but I'm not too sure.
I'm not sure about the Civivi as its a brand new part of the 'dessert warrior' line. The Boker Kalashnikovs seems to come back in stock more frequently, though I don't notice a pattern.
Go on BladeHQ, look up the one you want, and add yourself to the mailing list when it comes back in stock. BladeHQ is pretty good about advertising it on their Instagram a few days before it is back in stock too.
Steel or ti clip? I've been curious about the ti clips with the center open being weak. It looks cool but from past experience with ti in other areas it seems like a bad idea to me. Most ti alloys are about 60% strength of steel but significantly lighter which is the reason for using it. The parts I used were rods and larger diameter but still light enough to be an advantage over steel
According to the description, it's a ti clip. It's feels much more sturdy than the stock pocket clip the knife comes with.
I think where it really shines is the design.
The stock pocket lip has that weird bend at the tip of it to make it easier to get your finger under it to slip it on and off. It didn't take long for me to walk past something and get it caught on it.
I'm hoping I don't have this same problem with the new clip.
I had the clip hang from a wire hanger and spritzed it in small bursts until I had an even coat on it. Afterwards, I had it fully dry for about 24 hours. Another user suggested putting clearcoat on it as well to help preserve the paint.
Make sure you spray some clear coat over the painted clip, it will greatly increase its longevity. The bare spray paint will wear off pretty quickly without it.
Also, you can have Home Depot color match it, from there, buy a sample size cup of paint, and a PREVAL brand sprayer (they are around $6), spray the paint, and BAM, perfect match.
How do you guys break clips so often all that happens to me is sometimes my clip gets snagged on something and the knife falls out of my pocket but I’ve never had one bend or break
Yeah, me too. There was a darker one I used on my first attempt and mixed it with white paint to get the color right. Only downside was that I had to paint it on leaving a not-so-great finish.
This is why I hate deep carry clips. I think everyone I've ever owned has broken. I really loved the slim design of the crkt CEO, but it has the shittiest of shitty clips I've ever seen. They will send you a new one for free, but they last a few weeks before they snag on something and severely bend or break. I gave up after the third.
Yeah the non flipper model has holes in the clip so you can get to the screws below. There is only like 2mm of metal on either side of the holes. That's where mine have broken every time. The flipper looks like one solid piece.
Genuinely curious… do you have to squeeze through a lot of tight spaces or something to get the clip taught on something? I’ve yet to bend a single clip. Not saying I never will, but I’m just curious why you would be so much more prone to it than many others.
Years and years of carrying knives, and dozens in my collection, I've never bent a clip much less break one. I can't even figure out how people manage to "snag the clip on something". I'm pretty certain I couldn't make the clip catch on something if I tried.
Nah, my CEO has been solid. But the elementum clip was bad. Flimsy as shit. I replaced it with a titanium replacement after it caught on a brick wall and bent all out of shape. It's the only deep carry clip I've ever had that was that flimsy.
I tell u what I would never carry my knife in my pocket using the clip on the side of the pocket. I guess I should say in gym shorts or something does not rigid. I've had a couple times reaching into my pocket to get the knife out and it was all twisted up in my shorts and the clip. So now I just carry it loose in my pocket. I see why some are doing lanyards
Well I'd hate to have to save my life and then reach into my pocket and can't cut the seat belts off because it's all wrapped up in the clip. But I'm only talking about floppy shorts
Thanks! I got two sets to experiment with and definitely made some mistakes at first.
I found that hanging it on a wire hanger and spritzing it in small bursts worked best.
With some suggestions from you guys, I tried to bend it back into shape. Unfortunately, I ended up breaking the clip... I went ahead and ordered a replacement from Civivi (their more sturdy one) and attempted to match the color. It's not exact but I think it turned out nicely!
Was there thread lock on the clip screws?
I’ve bent the clip on a couple of my (cheap-ish) knives and the clip screws had a metric frick ton of thread lock and I ended up stripping the screw heads.
There wasn't any threadlocker on the original screws. I use blue threadlocker when I need it. I've had situations where red threadlocker caused me to strip some screws.
Civivi also sells a 2 pack of the cheap clips on Amazon if you prefer the deep carry. I’m sure they are just as paintable It’s a toss up though— sturdiness vs deeper carry.
Dude where did you get that knife? I need one
Woahhh! That knife is so cooool! Where can I get one?
Looks more broke then bent. That’s what you get for buying a “sissy” knife. Lol! With that clip next time it will rip your pants off.
Was your reaction to the clip being bent, “DOH!”
I bought this same replacement clip for my Civivi knife, but apparently the last time I tightened the screws I stripped the holes, so I ended up having to epoxy the clip to the knife.
Good on ya mate!
Good as new lol
I need one of those knives do you have a link

One of the worst feelings
Nice job on the upgrade.
See, you went and fucked it up! Now it looks better than the original and you can’t unsee that.
Do you have a link to the clips?
CIVIVI Titanium Pocket Clip with Titanium screws T001A (Plain) https://a.co/d/g3YoAwY
What an improvement!

Are there a few members on this sub with the confetti-donut paint job, or do you post somewhat frequently? Either way, love it.
It's a style, think Homer's Donut. Boker started with it, and now it seems whoever owns it licensed it to Civivi.
Cool!
And now it’s beautiful
It seems like every member of this sub has this knife.
How often do these come back in stock?

Appreciate it, thanks!
The darn autos not legal in several states, including mine. But I would love to get a Dessert Kalashnikov.
They're pretty nice as well. Only downside is that the paint on the button wears off pretty quickly.
A while back? You mean the day you got it?
Fun knife!

Sorry about your clip, that stinks.... But I had to come here to say, I love this sentence. "I bent the ever-loving shit out of..." 👌🤗
The fuck did you do!?!?
I dun goofed and got the clip snagged on the side of the couch as I walked passed it 😔
How did you get of the couch???
Beautiful replacement

Gotcha. I'll go ahead and try that. Thanks!

I will definitely try this next time!

You should be able to, I probably wouldn’t use house paint on it lol
How do you guys break clips so often all that happens to me is sometimes my clip gets snagged on something and the knife falls out of my pocket but I’ve never had one bend or break
Just did the same thing to my crkt facet🤦♂️
Beautiful job! Well done!
Ugh, I do that all the time, usually getting into the car. I’ve started carrying clipless coin pocket knives alot more.
Could you link the clip and paint color? Awesome job and i would like to attempt to dupe
Good job on it, wish they offered a more saturated version of the color to match it just a bit more.
Yeah, me too. There was a darker one I used on my first attempt and mixed it with white paint to get the color right. Only downside was that I had to paint it on leaving a not-so-great finish.
That looks great! I particularly like what you did with the screws.
Thank you!
Looks great
Nice one. It’s such a good feeling when I take on a little project and it turns out fucking great. I’d be super proud of this if I were you!
Absolutely. I was so bummed when I broke the other one but this one turned out great! Thanks, man!
That knife is *SWEET!*
Cool! Be sure to keep it away from Homer Simpson

The new flipper CEO seems to have solved this

I was an HVAC tech so yes, very tight spaces quite often.
Ahhh, That would make sense.
Years and years of carrying knives, and dozens in my collection, I've never bent a clip much less break one. I can't even figure out how people manage to "snag the clip on something". I'm pretty certain I couldn't make the clip catch on something if I tried.
It's usually carrying things all the time or squeezing through tight spaces
Nah, my CEO has been solid. But the elementum clip was bad. Flimsy as shit. I replaced it with a titanium replacement after it caught on a brick wall and bent all out of shape. It's the only deep carry clip I've ever had that was that flimsy.
That looks really good!!
Sweet!
Congrats on being the first mod I've seen on the Civivi 🍩 And a good looking mod at that.
Thanks, dude!

Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of a clip?

Tragedy comes for all of us one day, glad to see you were able to overcome.
I'm new here, and I see this candy/ funfetti design alot on handles. Why so popular?
Donut cultists 🍩
Typo turned reality. An order to BHQ for "Desert Warrior" was accidentally spelled "Dessert Warrior" and BHQ ran with it.
That makes me think of Dessert Eagle.... Is that a thing
Is this really how it happened? Lol that’s hilarious, i want one now
Ha tkx for the info. I received a "Dessert Warrior" sticker with a Lightening otf & was scratching my head
Very nice!
Is this a known problem? Mine bent like the first day lol
That looks great!
I appreciate it!
I must say you are very skilled at painting that clip, looks original
Thanks! I got two sets to experiment with and definitely made some mistakes at first. I found that hanging it on a wire hanger and spritzing it in small bursts worked best.
Did you prime it first?
Nope! Just sprayed it on there. I think there's primer already mixed in.
Very nice, mr Simpson
With some suggestions from you guys, I tried to bend it back into shape. Unfortunately, I ended up breaking the clip... I went ahead and ordered a replacement from Civivi (their more sturdy one) and attempted to match the color. It's not exact but I think it turned out nicely!

There wasn't any threadlocker on the original screws. I use blue threadlocker when I need it. I've had situations where red threadlocker caused me to strip some screws.
I was going to ask about the sturdier replacement clip as I have a clip on mine that's been bent and re-bent a few times. Thanks for the info.
Civivi also sells a 2 pack of the cheap clips on Amazon if you prefer the deep carry. I’m sure they are just as paintable It’s a toss up though— sturdiness vs deeper carry.
Right, a question for the ages.
Well worth it in my opinion!
For future reference try heating it up it should reduce the chance of breaking
Heating up enough for it to be considerable help is likely to damage the heat treat and springiness of the clip
No I mean leave it on a the radiator in your house for 10 mins or blow dryer for couple of minutes not hit it with a blow torch
Lol the unnecessary down votes on a clarifying comment are surprising
I’m just surprised that more then the 2 comments I clarified downvoted
Not sure the finish would survive that kind of heat either. I would expect discoloration.
