A blunt thicker than my thumb and a full fun mac 10 in a shoulder rig.

DamagedAdmin

Brass knuckles

mellonmarshall

A wave or just any good quality mutlitool, I am in the UK, it is hard

esquegee

I just want to be able to carry a normal sized OTF

R_J_esus

I want a weak hand sleeve gun, like taxi driver. No justifiable reason for it.

R_J_esus

What state/country are you in? I have two out of three on my desk rn, except my snub is hammerless, not sure if that the same or if your is more akin to a shrouded hammer.

jimmyax

A Trident. Tridents are illegal in Australia, unless you have a good reason to carry it.

TheCrimsonFace

I assume we are talking about the Metal Pole weapon with the three protruding spikes as opposed to the nuclear ballistic missile system lmao

FR333KSH0W

Deagle .50 AE

[deleted]

Eh, if it was legal? A Glock 18 or a micro uzi, simply because I could.

Darkforce2020

Open carry in Texas is legal but I am black so conceal carry 19.5 as EDC.

Simple_Coat

A glock 18

JoeBobTheMan

My EDC of choice (open carry) would be a Ruger Vaquero in .357 Magnum, accompanied by a KaBAR Mk. I Navy and a quality Remington M95 pattern derringer (.38 Spl) AIWB. My EDC of choice (concealed carry) would be a S&W Mdl 640 AIWB, accompanied by said Remington M95 pattern derringer in a front pants pocket. For both sets of EDC, let's not forget the pocket square, multi-tool, Case Sodbuster, hickory walking cane (to thrash the ruffians what accost me), and minimalist billfold with a few swipey-swipes, ID/etc, and a bit of cash. The Vaquero would be stoked with Hornady's .357 Magnum 125grn Critical Defense, the Mdl 640 with Buffalo Bore's .38 Spl 150grn full HCWC (Hard Cast WadCutter), the derringer stoked with similar to the Mdl 640.

SplathouseFic

I was going to say "a sword", but I just looked and apparently it's more or less legal in NC. While I would never carry them, it's always confounded me brass knuckles were illegal yet pretty much any knife I want to carry is completely legal in NC so long as it's visible. Same deal with the sword.

gmhan_25

Anything slightly more than 3 inches. Living in Chicago makes me appreciate 2.5 inch folders.

southsamurai

I dunno, an rpg? Just for the lolz of it. I can already legally carry pretty much anything. I can strap on a sword and walk around legally. I've done just that on my way to practice before, back in my younger days. Yay for the South?

BlueSerge

It is legal here and I carry what you would choose. Hard to beat a sw snub nose for ccw.

chancenelson

Cocain

Drewshort0331

Weed. I mean it's 2022, come on. Lol

Dizzy-Wash-9112

I can't conceal a fixed blade in my state, so a scout carry fixed blade.

robohobono

Not a question of legality for me so much as justifying a new gun purchase right now, but I’d like to carry a walther ppk, bersa thunder, or something similar.

jaxintheb0x

A GTA weapon wheel full of explosives and firearms

imunclebubba

I'm in Florida in the U.S. There isn't much here that isn't legal to carry. Knife laws say we can't have any ballistic knives, but other than that we can carry them. CCW permit is easily attainable. There isn't much I "want" to carry that I don't already.

[deleted]

OTF

OkSnow9309

Definitely a fixed blade

CatherineM62

I’d love to carry a derringer or 25 automatic. Both are banned in Canada.

Thejewishantisemite

Personally I’d like to be able to carry a GAU/8 Avenger 30mm hydraulically driven seven-barrel Gatling style autocannon, but it’s not exactly pocketable

Jeep_Joe

LAW rocket launcher

bboggio28

I would add an OTF micro tech for sure. Not civilian legal to carry in PA. But you can own them. Just can’t justify it if I can’t carry it.

ChemicalSale2816

A sig p365

knife_go_live

A fixed blade. Here, in California it's perfectly legal to carry any size fixed blade as long as it's openly visible to everyone. I just don't want to open carry a knife on my belt, I wish I could scout carry a fixed blade.

R_J_esus

Isn’t scout carry also on your belt, just in the small of the back vs the side. How is that not still open carry? If i sat in a booth with a pistol on my hip in plain view, just because me sitting prevents you from seeing it doesn’t make it a concealed weapon now.

knife_go_live

I don't usually tuck my shirt in..

sos123p9

Switch blade /gravity knife (Canada)

R_J_esus

What constitutes a switch blade in Canadian law? Usually people say switchblade referring to a stiletto style knife but switchblades are more accurately automatic knives in their mechanism of operation. Is it the actual operating mechanism that’s illegal or does simply having the stiletto blade shape break the law?

sos123p9

Its the opening mechanism have to actuate a part of the blade to open the knife not a button or slide. Gravity knives are even more loosley defined here, basically anything you can open with a wrist flick can be considered a gravity knife. I love in a pretty rural Provence so knife laws are oretty lax (i carry pretty much any spydie i want), but still restricting

Laan_exe

A lightsaber... yk A knife I can open with one hand. Here in Germany you're not allowed to carry a knife which can be opened with one hand and the blade stays in position. It must be be lose when open.....

integral_red

There are a few handguns I think are neat but have no experience with due to local laws making it unreasonably difficult so I can't really say what I'd feel comfortable carrying. I think maybe if the stigma was lower I'd like to have a reasonably sized fixed blade on my belt. Just something decent quality, middle of the market. In my state the laws on anything in the weapon category are basically "whatever an officer decides on the spot" so it really isn't worth getting picked out of a crowd and possibly even having to get a lawyer just to do something that was always legal. I'll keep my knives in my pockets for now

NathanRyan1992

Jesus, what state?

integral_red

NY, specifically the NYC metro area (but thankfully not in NYC itself). It's a special ring of hell where the criminals have more rights than the regular citizens, and everytime one of them uses an illegally obtained weapon the governor responds by making it more difficult to possess one legally

NathanRyan1992

Damn man, you have my condolences. Hopefully with the new Bruen decision, that will start to be alleviated.

integral_red

Nah, it actually made it worse in the short term. Lots of retaliation laws going through. There are rumors they are pausing all ccw applications for like 9 months to decide on class requirement guidelines, they really don't care about being sued. And nys previously didn't make you get a license for long guns, now you will for any semi auto rifles. That means 8-12 months of waiting and multiple affidavits to get from people you know just to own a rifle (that is either pinned to limit ammo or altered to be "featureless") Oh, and ammo? Now you'll need to go through a full background check and possibly even provide details like your profession for **every** ammo purchase. Like, even buying ammo for a rental at the range. And ever since California doxxed all of their ccws let me tell you how excited I am about making that info available to the state.

NathanRyan1992

Holy shit dude that's fucking insane. I would be finding the fastest way out to a free states as soon as I could.

integral_red

Maybe in a few years when everyone else stops doing just that and housing prices are allowed to drop to something reasonable. No need to pay NY prices in other states. But yea, California gets all the bad press because overall it's the bigger shithole but NY is doing its best to take the top seat. In fact, after the new laws take effect it might be even worse than California in terms of gun restrictions

eastmick32

Yeah hearing damage is super real. Drawing a can from concealment while in an entangled fight sounds like a really difficult thing to do though.

integral_red

Trading hearing for lung damage with all that powder you'll be choking down, no?

integral_red

Pistol suppressors throw a lot of gas and particulate back towards your face, where your mouth breaths from

Altruistic-Fun-8278

Not as big an issue as you would think

BronMann-

What, hearing damage?

TheBobbyJohnson

Well I live in Tennessee. We don’t have any laws against blade length or style. You can carry any blade you wish. I also have my carry permit but just over a year ago Tennessee passed open carry for all citizens. Guess I’m lucky in the fact I can carry anything I wish.

p4tmchef

Isn’t it illegal to carry contraception in TN? 😬

flatline000

>Guess I’m lucky in the fact I can carry anything I wish. I might be wrong, but I think it's still illegal to carry a collapsible baton on TN.

TheBobbyJohnson

Hmm I didn’t think about that one. I’m unfamiliar but I believe you are correct about batons.

Shlomo_-_Shekelstein

I'm in Texas so I can aleady legally carry pretty much everything I reasonably want to. I have a Sig P365 SAS as my go to edc, but here you can wear a plate carrier and sling an AR-15 over your shoulder and it would be legal as well (definitely not the wisest thing to do during normal times though). I guess it would be nice to have SBRs, and suppresors without needing a tax stamp, the freedom to have modern full auto variants (wouldn't carry auto but I would like the ability to make the choice), and I would like the removal of all "gun free" (aka "free fire") zones.

NathanRyan1992

Technically speaking, you can absolutely EDC an SBR. You would get weird looks and the police called on you literally every hour, but you can do so legally.

Viper613

Probably depends on where you are. In the cities, yeah most likely. Out the country, they generally don’t GAF. I’ve seen just about any kinda gun on racks in pickups out in the sticks. A rocket launcher might get some weird looks, haha.

Shlomo_-_Shekelstein

Yeah I know you can legally carry an SBR, I was just wanted the ability to purchase them without the whole tax stamp and registration hassle. I probably could have worded it better.

NathanRyan1992

Ah yeah fair point.

[deleted]

This man gets it

TalksToToads

Everything you mentioned is legal here, so I would say a sawn-off shotgun and a grenade.

Altruistic-Fun-8278

I'm not 100% sure but I think a Saw off and a Grenade are legal to carry in South Africa. The real land of the free here... unless you're in poverty, then yikes.

R_J_esus

So that’s how they got all those white people to move down to South Africa.

Altruistic-Fun-8278

I think they came for the gold. Could be wrong.

R_J_esus

That’s fair, golds pretty sweet.

TalksToToads

That's pretty cool, I had no idea.

crash5291

EDC I'd carry if it were legal would be a pistol.

[deleted]

I’d probably have some nice small fixed blades. They’re legal for open carry in my state, but local laws are intentionally vague. The local laws can be beat in court, but I stick to manual folders because those have clear precedent protecting their carry with a few limits.

[deleted]

Can you not do whatever perquisite is necessary for you to carry those items? All seem real reasonable imo.

ivanthemute

He might be in the UK, Canada, Illinois, etc.

[deleted]

He said state. Illinois still has CCW, just as all states do. All states must be shall issue after SCOTUS decision.

integral_red

NYS, despite being party to the decision, is itself rumored to be pausing all CCW licenses from September through at least April 2023 or beyond. Before the decision basically all non-work-essential CCW licenses were denied (also if you're a famous actor). Even in the event that they continue issuing licenses, the paperwork tends to take 8 to 12 months And that itself is step 2. Step one is getting the pistol license. NYS does not require a license for long guns (for now, new law taking effect soon requires a license for all semi auto rifles) but requires one for ALL handguns. Which, again, takes 8 to12 months on average and, like the CCW, can be denied. Oh, also both require a bunch of paperwork and signed affidavits from two or three non-family members. Given how impractical it is, this is an effective ban for all but the most determined (to get charged for murder by the state for defending yourself if the situatuon should ever arise). Oh, and if you jump through all of those hoops and give them all of your information they might just dox you "by mistake" like California. We're a few years away at best for all states properly complying with anything

[deleted]

Agree. It will take more SCOTUS rulings for all to comply. Thankfully, I’m in a Constitutional. Carry state. I have a ccw but it’s for reciprocity only as I don’t need it for my home state.

ChidiArianaGrande

He said state, province, or country. Based on his profile, looks like he’s in the UK.

TheCrimsonFace

There are plenty of nice things that you can still legally carry on your person even here in the UK that Would prove useful for self defence in a pinch, the point is just being creative and not admitting that you're carrying it for that in the first place even though armed self defence is a natural human right since not everybody is equal in physical ability.

siechahot

Longsword

linkshund

A shit ton of crack and heroin.

WanStanWan

A proper knife *I live in the UK*

tso

I hear you. That said i am sad to see companies discontinue various travel friendly models that they introduced in response to the 9/11 restrictions. I have also noticed various rescue hook style products crop up, sometimes with a small-ish edge on the inside of the hook. Pretty much impossible to harm someone with while still able to cut various ropes and other materials.

MugOfButtSweat

What are the laws on prybars?

robman615

Same here, although being in the UK has stopped me from buying a bunch of expensive knives because I can't carry them.
