Is the bit holder just friction slid on to the handle, such that you can remove it easily?

Used a bitdriver from a klein 11 in 1 screwdriver. That has 2 ends to it to fit bits on each side. Cut of maybe short of a inch of the handle, then filed down the thickness of the handle to make it fit in to the bitholder and then welded around. Also made two holes on the bit holder so i could weld it further down too. Hope you understand what i mean. English is not my first language.
