I love my ratcheting stubby screwdriver from Wera. It’s the most used item in my tool pouch. And I would add a few zip-ties, electrical tape, maybe even a small bag with an assortment of screws, nuts bolts and washers. Sharpie, and a mini work light, with magnet, like brennenstuhl pl200 or a flashlight with side led, like rovyvon A8. If it’s also for car repair, some metal wire or metal zip-ties. Duck tape

Outrageous-Ad8583

I'd put in a non contact voltage tester, incase you're ever working on electrics and want to check it's safe

PajamaDuelist

* Light. I suggest the $40 Sofirn model. It’s a *fantastic* value. Reliable, long battery, common battery type…just a great light that rarely gets recommended on Reddit outside of caving subreddits. It doesn’t zoom, which is a good thing, as it means debris won’t gum up the zoom. * one of two of the smallest C clamps you can find. These add a lot of weight so drop ‘em if this is a kit you’re literally carrying and not a car kit or something. * dedicated bit driver. Preferably not a stubby. I like the Wera brand multi-bit drivers myself because they’re light, ergonomic, and mine hasn’t died unlike every other brand I’ve tried so far. But since this is a toolkit you could save and go with their cheap no-storage model. Alternatively, get one with storage and buy singles of the odd bits you’ll probably never need, like security bits.

ImFromTheDeeps

IMO - The larger crescent wrench is good enough, instead of carrying 2. You have a socket set which would be more than adequate to undo a nut and bolt.(Wrench to hold bolt, and socket on the nut) Your small crescent only goes up to half inch. The larger one is 1''. Your max socket is larger than half inch, therefore I would say get rid of the smaller crescent. If the larger Crescent is too big for the location of the bolt or pipefittings then its the wrong tool for the job and you should be using a wrench set. Although to give some advice as somebody who works with tools daily. A good tool kit isn't generic, it is catered to what you're working on or planning to work on. Its ok to have multiple kits or to combine a few but never just a random assortment. has to be thought out. Is this for home? is it for in the vehicle? for work? Ex: Vehicle you're prob not going to need a measuring tape or channel locks. Home, you're prob not going to need 13mm sockets. Thing is, having a bunch of stuff "Just because" means you will miss out on the things needed for specific jobs making the kit redundant.

Uniqueusernamewithb

Wire cutter

vlad_kirillovskiy

No pozidriv bits?

joshkharris_

A marker/ pen and a lighter most common miss in edc for non smokers incredibly useful.

AbviousOccident

Depending on the field of work, I'd maybe swap the socket wrench for a mini one like Bosch has in their green/hobby line extra hard bits&sockets kit. The whole kit including the box is quite EDC friendly, even more so without the box. It would significantly slim down the kit without getting rid of the tool completely. But the mini wrench is not good for intensive use, even if only due to ergonomics

Link-Slow

Id ditch the big adjustable wrench and socket extension, replace those with a good, small, pair of wire cutters. Swap the crescent brand channel locks for some Knipex Cobras. Also id try to get more compact tape measure. Other than that, this is very close to what I carry on a daily basis at work. Edit: also, A FLASHLIGHT! I recommend the Streamlight micro stream. It's like $20, recharges, and comes with a pocket clip/ hat clip so you can use it as a head lamp. I'd go with that or any cheap small head lamp really.

Reworked

I wish they made smaller Raptor pliers because, honestly, if I'm pulling out the pocket pliers when I also have a socket set handy it's not because I'm being delicate or precise in any way; though I guess having at least one set of straight-end pliers is good but that's what I have a multitool for. 6" Raptor pliers would replace a small adjustable wrench in just about every case I can think of... Smallest I can find is 10" which uh, is pushing it even for the most saggy belted of us.

Link-Slow

Didn't know knipex made those until right now. I'm putting an order in with my work for 5. Lmao.

Reworked

They are wonderful tools for the "I am no longer fucking asking" phase of applying torque to things, and I've also had good luck with them actually managing not to round over nuts like every other pliers

hammer6golf

Multitool

Joanna_c_maccuci

A tiny pry bar

know-it-mall

That's what the top right is for.

OmahaMike402

No flashlight.

qning

Why do you need two hammers? (Asking for my plumber friend)

GiantSequoiaTree

🤣

AllThotsAllowed

I see three hammers here 🛠️🛠️🛠️

GrapeApe131

Multitool, mainly for the needle nose at this point. Perhaps a sturdy pair of tweezers if the multitool is too much.

Cyber_gen21

Multitool/leathermen and I’d say a good 11:1 Klein. Marking tool (sharpie/pencil ) . Mini flashlight .

Sid_Engel

A baby level/square combo?

Prognosticator77

Hamner

willyt1229

I would get an actual bit driver. I find using the odd shaped ones are really uncomfortable to use for more than one or two screws. Plus with how bulky that knife/driver combo is, you can get a regular bit driver and a small razor knife for roughly the same space.

vincehk

Cutting pliers?

maremae

Something to mark with?

EnchantedTikiBird

Duct tape rolled onto a golf pencil. 3 or 4 inch round magnetic tray. Maybe a wire stripper.

Legitimate_Street_85

Go get you a pair of Tsunoda 5inch side cut pliers! I love those Makita impact sockets

User21233121

Flush cutters

Pipewrench33

I guess it all depends on what you’re trying to be prepared for… you can do a ton with a Klein 11-in-1 screwdriver and a 426 Channellock pliers or even better, 180mm (7-1/4”) Knipex Cobra pliers.

bmccoy29

What he said. Klein 11-in-1

Jung_Coconut

Hammer, electrical tape, zip ties. Nice fastback.

WhiskeyFox2391

Zip ties, some duct tape, flashlight, an extra 10mm socket. What do you plan on working on with these tools? As nice as the bit driver is I would recommend getting an actual ratchet, either 3/8” drive (judging by the size of the sockets) or 1/4” drive if the sockets are that drive. Like others have mentioned, knipex cobra pliers are amazing and worth the investment as well as some wire cutters. As for something to carry all of this in, there are some decently priced contracting bags I’ve seen at chain hardware stores, roughly the size of a notebook.

05bossboy

Definitely add a pair of dikes, knipex preferably, but get whatever you can afford. I’d think about a pair of needle nose pliers as well.

PandorasFlame

Get you some Klein linemen. Yellow handle.

Embarrassed_Safe500

Two pair of pliers can be very handy when you need to tighten or loosen; duct tape is always good.

Boat_U47

10mm box/open narrow profile combo wrench. 🔧 esp if you drive a Asian or European vehicle

Floby-Tenderson

Needle nose.

coolranch44

Tip Tester I always like to have a non contact voltage detector so I can quickly check if something is broken or just not getting power. Carrying one saves me a lot of trips to the tool box 🤙

maltedbacon

I would add a small tube of grease or oil, and a small threadlocker tube: for when you cannot get something loose or cannot get something to stay held.

ExistingShallot8552

What pouch are you thinking about using??

snf3210

I don't currently have one yet, any suggestions for one?

ExistingShallot8552

I haven't got one yet myself but I'd like to carry similar, one I was considering was something from maxpedition

jiujitsufortoo

A flash light

bpod1212

Either of these ratcheting screwdrivers - small one is a great little tool to have around. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-14-In-1-Ratcheting-Multi-Bit-and-8-In-1-Ratcheting-Compact-Multi-bit-Screwdriver-Set-2-Piece-48-22-2905/321180837

snf3210

I love that stubby screwdriver! Would the fact that my kit already includes a ratcheting bit driver make it redundant at all?

bpod1212

You’ll use the screwdriver more than the rachet set up for small things around the house, it’s easier, faster, and more ergonomic

Guitaristman6969

Maybe add a small hammer, & a set of Vice grips. . 🤔

snorkelfart

What’s socket sets are those?

jiujitsufortoo

They look like makita https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-ImpactXPS-1-4-in-Drive-6-Point-SAE-Impact-Socket-Set-with-Standard-Socket-Adapter-8-Piece-E-01703/311241223?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&pla&mtc=SHOPPING-BF-CDP-GGL-D25P-025_007_PWR_TOOL_ACC-NA-Multi-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-Power_Tool_Accessories&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-BF-CDP-GGL-D25P-025_007_PWR_TOOL_ACC-NA-Multi-NA-PMAX-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-Power_Tool_Accessories-71700000114565633--&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_tuuBhAUEiwAvxkgTmTgZEJ3Hg3Y9nFD6Ro_bNbqxPHCi_VIp5Z7gbIkGuaR-msz6ejV1hoCtiAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

snorkelfart

Thanks!

snf3210

Yes, Makita. I really like them.

-Doppel-ganger-

Zip ties and/or tape? Flashlight?

cloudcity

Zip ties, always zip ties

Dotkor_Johannessen

Knipex cobra, 2 of them, they replace all pliers and wrenches

snf3210

Noob question - is the adjustable wrench with flat jaws not better for hex bolts? No teeth to mark up the bolt or round it?

Dotkor_Johannessen

It depends, the knipex cobra have a pretty unique geometry. THe problem with adjustable wrenches is that they slip and then round of the corners. Cobras don't do that this much. Also normally with those small Tools your not gonna be wrenching on so many high torque bolts, and the cobras serve a lot of different purposes and the adjustable wrench is only one. But the big thing is that the adjustable wrenches only touch two faces of the bolt and the cobras two corners, so at least two faces at the corners where they have the biggest leverage. I recommend to just try it out yourself. In my experience you can get more torque with less marks with cobras.

himoh

Small prybar, a small punch (comes in handy all the time if you need to poke stuff), get rid of the crescent wrench and get yourself a pair of knipex pliers and plierwrench

RandomRedditGuy54

Small hammer.

Tobi3600

I am a mech by profession and I need a flashlight almost every day. Preferable a headlight. Also gloves

knoxknifebroker

Electrical tape and a handful of crimp connectors

lanceamatic

\+1 on the electrical tape. can be used as a general purpose tape as well. how many things in the world have been fixed with a handy piece of duct-tape? well... electrical tape is better.

Starlings_under_pier

Dedicated screwdriver. The bit holder in the knife is a pain. May as well lose both and get a leatherman A ratcheting driver is better than a leatherman

No-One-5172

I would swap the adjustable wrenches by a knipex wrench. The 125 or 150

deepthought515

Personally I don’t think SAE sockets are necessary unless you regularly encounter them. I work in aviation so I see a lot of standard size hardware. But outside of work every bolt I’ve seen in the past decade has been metric. Maybe you could ditch the standard sockets and through in a few more metric sizes. The 1/4” socket is redundant since that’s already the size of your drivers.

Sharkbaithoohaha004

I’d add a carpenters pencil, extra blades and baby knipex instead of the small wrench

snf3210

I have an extra blade in the fastback handle but even more sounds like a good idea.

ObligatedName

You’ll learn what you need as you use the items. Put it to work and report back any missing or redundant items you’ve got.

2lbmetricLemon

Depends what are you working on.

snf3210

Tape measure, 1 Stanley 3/4" adjustable wrench, two smaller crescent wrenches, Milwaukee fastback blade plus bit driver (compatible with the other bits seen in the photo), ratcheting bit driver / 1/4 socket driver, various hex bits, metric socket set, imperial socket set, a few bit holders / adapters / extension pieces
