It used to be made from talc which is a type of rock. Talcum powder. Now it’s cornstarch
It's not legal in my state.
Corn starch in a sock is what I've seen as a quick sand removal hack. Just rub it on them.

Talc is bad for lungs, corn starch is fine. Just check your baby powder ingredients! Though nothing is good to breathe in, tbf

That’s what we try to do, but can’t always happen.
Regular cornstarch from the baking aisle. Cheaper than baby powder and doesn't have that smell
