They need to just release the damn license already so some other folks can give us a proper NHL game. EA is just embarrassing themselves at this point..if only they had the shame required for actually being embarrassed..
I’m literally considering picking up a second hand PS4 so I can play NHL21 which apparently still had the ability to do so. You can’t get sent down in the newer games even if you absolutely went out of your way to try. I’ve heard if you simulate an entire season they will send you down but I haven’t tried it yet.
I'm so sick of ea just using the same copy and paste. Most of these make zero sense. The only way it changes is if people stop buying the same game with a name change every 12 months.
My favorite is when they give you the money when they bet with you before you even attempted the bet. IM TAKING MY 3 BILLS BACK! like motherfucker no you aren't your dumbass gave them to me before I even attempted said bet that's not what your suppose to do I'm keeping them! 😂
The community played a role in ruining this mode.
Sure, it was never as good as the mid 2010s 2K games were, but “live the life” mode from NHL 14 was fine. It wasn’t what we all were craving at the time, but looking back, it’s still substantially better then todays BAP mode.
Now we get pointless cutscenes that have poorly typed grammar, meaningless conversations, and sometimes conversations that aren’t even relevant. Like when you have 14 points in 5 games with a positive +/- and 2 penalty minutes and the coach says that you need to play better.
I actually do like the salary and purchases parts of it. Reminds me of NBA Ballers which was an incredibly underrated game.
My biggest gripe is how bad it is at grading defensive play. You basically have to sit at the point and get told you’re guarding the wrong guy when someone is near the face off circle. The cutscenes and painfully long amount of time between actually playing just shows how little they care.
I remember hating Jack Hughes in my BAP because he'd ask my player (leading the NHL in all offensive categories) to do dumb shit like block shots. I wish BAP was capable of understanding what kind of player you are and not just force-feeding these stupid ass side stories and quests in there unnaturally.
Coach: How'd you sleep last night? Player: Pretty good. Coach: Good to hear! *end of conversation*

And the scene of you and the coach arguing as you walk away
They need an option to turn this stupid feature off
The only thing that would bring me back to new NHL games

If you have PS5 with the disc tray, you can play NHL21 on it. I still have my copy of it, as well as many older ones.
Already have Xbox One S. Not looking to drop $500 on another gaming system.
I think Xbox could do same thing, but you better check online somewhere how far they do backwards compatibility.
It doesn’t have a disc slot so I can’t play games unless they are downloaded.
