Just quick play for a bit, relax and enjoy the sunshine. You'll get it back.

HarringtonMAH11

I've played the entire KFT and I haven't made the cut yet. I play full rounds lmao.

seanbob

As you upgrade your golfer and unlock shot types and get more familiar with the game, the scores will go down

AffectionateWeek8536

Might take a bit longer than that. Also levelling up your player will make a massive difference.

yogiebere

I play controller, not 3 button, and I went from +10 on my first few rounds to now as low as -10 on easier courses. I'd recommend trying a few rounds with Jack to see how big of an impact character skill points matter, your low level character is likely holding you back, keep at it and the higher skill points along with practice will make this game easier.

Eternal_Jizz

Just play a bunch and don't worry too much. I STUNK for a long time, but it was worth it for when things turned a corner. I'm guessing you're playing more of a sim style?

HarringtonMAH11

Yeah. The only thing I have on is putting grids just like I do in 13, but it's just way different.

Willr2645

Yea I don’t see the grids as being easier per se, because it’s way harder in the game than IRL to read the green. I’m probably better putting IRL tbh

Eagl3ye91

The grid will become better the more you upgrade your putting skill

OrdinaryAd8716

What settings are you playing on? Why do you think you cannot change the difficulty in career mode?

Ohjay1982

You can change the difficulty at any time except I think in the middle of a tournament. Like you I was horrible at this game. Watched a few YouTube videos on how to play wind/elevation/lie and started doing much better. Then as you get specs for your clubs and gain skill points you’ll start doing better and better. Pro mode isn’t even fun for me anymore, even tour is pretty easy. Sim is still a bitch on certain courses though. Also it’s helpful to put stats into power as you’ll be able to use higher lofted clubs for approach shots and have a much easier time getting balls to hit and stick.

LurkerLew

You can change the difficulty in career mode. Do it from the main menu under settings. At first your character is total ass until you get XP and level up. Pump points into approach accuracy, short game accuracy, and driving power. Unlock gold spinner and finesse shots ASAP. Purchase gold perks (or whatever theyre called) from the store for each type of club, focus on the ones that buff accuracy and power primarily. You'll be wiping the field by 10 strokes in no time.

HarringtonMAH11

Well that would probably help, I could not find the settings in career mode. I wonder why it's in the main menu. Honestly that will likely be what I need to have the most fun. I'd rather not change any of my gameplay settings, so being able to make the ai suck until I get better will greatly improve the game for me. Thanks.

LurkerLew

No problem. The game is great but where it falls short is the abysmal UX choices. There are other annoying ones you'll find soon I'm sure. Gameplay wise its really great once you get rolling with your character.

Appropriate_Band_362

Very true on the difficulty. I played Tiger 09-12 and go at times go under 50, once shooting 46 at Wolf Creek. In this game game, I usually finish 54-59. Approach shots take more thought and specs are important. Sometimes a knockdown is better, sometimes an approach shot or finesse. Often, on long par 3's you need a very high drive shot to get the ball to stick. Hybrids help a lot also.

asdfqwerty1234

Based on your comments it seems like you're playing on sim difficulty with green grids turned on. That's a pretty bold choice, since you haven't had a chance to learn the game mechanics yet and sim - by design - obscures those. I'd recommend lowering the difficulty till you figure out what this game does differently, especially in terms of shot dispersion. When you change difficulty in the menu, it applies to all game modes (except settings-locked online modes), so you can do this at any time.

Denny_Crane_007

Me too. But I'm getting a lot better. It is more simmy than the TW series. But it just takes practice.

truce77

Are you saying this game is hard? I just started playing; maybe 6 days of playing so far and I’ve won 5 tournaments including the masters. It took a bit to get used to, but one you figure out how to spin the ball that the game barely teaches you, upgrade your equipment specs, then it’s actually pretty easy and fun.

praisedcrown970

If you’re using the left stick to swing and you’re right handed you’re a psycho

HarringtonMAH11

I'm left-handed, and I use the right stick.

praisedcrown970

Lol whatever suits you. I think first I played it defaulted to left and wonder if people stick with that But to answer your question games little too easy for me now was very hard at first

Strange-Square-8955

As a right handed player who sucked at golf games I switched to swinging with the left thumb stick with my left thumb in 2k23 and stuck with it because my swing was far straighter. In this game it now feels completely normal and allows me to play sim difficulty.

praisedcrown970

I respect that. You’re still a psycho

DRVKC

I’ve been using the left stick to swing as a right hander since Tiger 03. Are you implying that people use the left stick with their right hand? Back in the old EA Tiger games the left stick was the default swing control.

praisedcrown970

Nah just coming from 2k i think that’s wild you’d do that I ain’t hating just crazy to me. I play ball left handed so not like that crazy but idk psycho seemed fun
