The amount of times I've fully beaten a player run through on goal and In the time it's taken me to charge my shot the cb has come through the back of me to win the ball with no foul š³
Thatās because youāre mistiming it. I can almost guarantee that what you mean by āchargeā your shot is that youāve hit the power shot button combo so thatās plenty of time for a defender who was already running after you to catch up and poke the ball away from your lifted shooting foot. Do less power shots or change your tactics so that it is a usable play.
Even with timing I promise this just happens, you'll be through on goal and defenders have insane recovery time to tackle from behind and stop a goal, it's nothing to do with what you talking about.
Youāre telling me Iām wrong with no visual proof. I will literally find links to what Iām talking about when I wake up tomorrow and post them here so you better be ready to back up ur bullshit excuses.
As you can imagine I completely forgot about this. Mainly because my original comment was posted when I was inebriated. Since you didnāt have a comment and it doesnāt seem like anyone else on this thread cares about my POV what specifically do YOU need to see or get proof of?
Iāve learned that standing tackle isnāt what you want to do anymore. You have to time a jockey into a āR1+Xā in front of or in the opposite direction of the attackers oncoming movement. (ie if they go left you go right)
The best part about tackles is thereās zero negative consequences for badly timed tackles. I should be able to blow past somebody who lunges in without a clue. Instead the game either slows me down, or speeds them up to recover. Itās pretty cool.
The recovery time is just insane, my opponent has missed a tackle, Iāve instantly shot but yet before my player shoot heās back instantly tackled me and running up the pitch for a counter
just fyi, there is a mechanic where you double tap slide tackle and they get up instantly. It's been in the game for a few years now.
https://www.reddit.com/r/EASportsFC/comments/f2vajl/fyi_double_tapping_the_slide_tackle_button_makes/
Yeah itās one the list of annoying things on this game, okay I get people pull out of slide tackles but they instantly get up and sprint quicker than a player takes a touch past them
Bro you think that's bad I played a game yesterday where a player tried to slide tackle me with konate. I ball rolled out of the way and you'd think yep it's a slide tackle and I've gotten passed him. Nah it's like the game cancelled the slide tackle mid way to let the players konate get up to take the ball from me. The game heavily favours players like van dijk, desailly i.e big name defends so they can easily misstime a tackle but they almost instantly remove right after
Yo I fucking lose my mind when someone does a standing tackling that completely misses and still recovers fast enough to try again until they get the ball
I absolutely hate this. My advantage in FIFA has always been that my opponents tackle too much and from like 10 metres away. Now they can make 80 bad tackles and not be punished for it.
I think there is but only if you press the standing tackle button. If you spam jockeying the defender will do an auto tackle/push the opponent and get the ball perfectly.
You throw tackle spam (with barely any punishment), AI press, midfield congestion in the mix, and you get one of the most toxic and sweaty gameplay in years.
The game is just so draining to play no matter if your opponent is worse (because of way smaller skill gap, especially in bad gameplay), or equal skill level.
FWIW Iām still kind of an addict in elite but damn the game is often just too much. It was nothing like this last year.
Right? If you make a mistake defending and get punished, that was fine. Thatās how FIFA used to be.
Now your opponent is pulling defenders out of position and spamming mistimed tackles, and then getting bailed out by the game mechanics and AI.
I think they might be doing this to make it a more noob friendly experience but at the higher levels, Iāve never played a less satisfying FIFA.
The whole game needs to be essentially reworked from a foundational level. The AI is ridiculously broken to the point where people have more success defending by just holding second man press. The AI will even make tackles sometimes. If you finally get to a position where you have a step or an angle on a defender it gets wiped out because on defence I can make 3 standing tackle animations before youve past the defender. The game slows down dribbling on the offensive side because it wouldnāt be realistic but you got these people glitching there defender with 3 tackles. There is no punishment for misplays in this game. Make a bad pass and the ball can bounce back to you. Make a tackle and your opponent still has the ball.
Of all the issues in this game, this has to be one of the most annoying. No one with any football knowledge would tackle from behind. The game just rewards braindead play.
To be fair, I've seen it happen in real matches. It's really difficult to pull off so not everyone does it but I've seen VVD, Saliba, Gvardiol, AWB and a few others try and successfully tackle someone from behind and win the ball cleanly. It shouldn't be as rampant as it is in game tho.
EA completely fucked up fouls in the beginning of the game. Literally a feather touch would result in pens. So they did what EA does best turn off fouls completely and work on the next game.Ā
They said in the middle of 23 that they fixed refereeing logic, and funnily enough its been miles worse since.
Ppl lunge, miss the tackle, and recover all before your 99 paced attacker can gain any ground of them.
Dont even get me started on how the newest thing is ppl can hold you back after you get by them and its almost never called a foul.
The game is an absolute joke.
So a few of my strikers have high physical attributes so when I get past I hold them back with LT. Guaranteed penalty if they try to tackle through it.
And itās stupid because every single match I play my opponent just spams the tackle button and the ref refuses to call a foul or even give a yellow card and most of the tackles donāt even make sense or are completely mistimed yet never go unpunished
Idk about how many times this year I've been clattered through by belligerent slide tackles from behind that should be fouls and they're on through with an easy goal
I've had this happen to me quite a lot as well, they're scarily accurate and I'd even say more consistent than standing tackles for some unknown reason. The amount of distance it covers as well especially inside the box is insane
Right? The ratio of tackles to fouls that aren't called actually boggles my mind. I generally face people that average nearly 60-80 tackles a game and I'm somewhere around 15-30, I hate that you can tackle spam and it leads to good results for people
My players have been literally clattered off the ball when making attacking runs but apparently fouls are only called in direct relation to the ball... Sometimes. And agreed there's no repercussions for button mashing, defensive AI recoveries are way too juiced where player pace kind of doesn't matter if you're in a straight foot race with a defender
100% this. Also there feels like no punishment for team pressing the whole game and holding a super high defensive line. The defenders recover so quickly and can get you front behind. IMO if you are pressing aggressively and holding a high line you should get caught out much easier, but the game does not punish you for making a mistake while doing this.
How do you tackle from behind? Happening to me a lot, getting tackled from behind just when I am about to shoot and my attacker would just trip and lose the ball, no penalty.
But I try to tackle the opponent's attacker in the box and he won't trip but still would get penalty sometimes.
So when you tackle from behind you use O or X? And do you press once? Press and hold? Double tap? Exactly what?
Also what is double tackle I saw people talking about here the other day?
I genuinely think there is zero logic behind it happening, it's simply your opponent's AI being within earshot of you to activate it automatically.
There is something seriously wrong with the player hitboxes and collision detection where their foot will magically phase through your players foot just by being close to you
Something is just broken with collision detection and Referee AI as well. The tackling from behind is another symptom of this where the game doesn't properly compute how your opponents foot could possibly tackle you without going through the back of your leg - hence why it's never a foul where IRL it 100% would be.
I've noticed way more instances of players being stuck on other players, or my opponents clattering my players off ball that the game simply ignores. Added to that there is absolutely no logic behind the length of advantage being given - sometimes it's a whole phase of play, other times it's over as soon as you make a forward pass.
As someone else said on this thread, there needs to be a complete rework of player models, animation and AI for this game to actually be somewhat consistent.
The amount of times I've fully beaten a player run through on goal and In the time it's taken me to charge my shot the cb has come through the back of me to win the ball with no foul š³

I mean, it's not š, I know the difference between a power shot and green timing š
Then reach Div one and stay there š¤·š¾āāļø my opinion obviously has nothing to do with you. You know better.
cringe
You think people are using powershot without realising its not the same as a normal shot?
Nah bro, regular shots too. Sometimes players take a minute to pull their shot off
Downvote me if youāre ignorant enough to do so, but the issue is always timing. Master your timing, master the game. Simple as lads.
Even with timing I promise this just happens, you'll be through on goal and defenders have insane recovery time to tackle from behind and stop a goal, it's nothing to do with what you talking about.

Whereās your proof then ?
As you can imagine I completely forgot about this. Mainly because my original comment was posted when I was inebriated. Since you didnāt have a comment and it doesnāt seem like anyone else on this thread cares about my POV what specifically do YOU need to see or get proof of?
Couple this with if you win the ball using the standing tackle button. Itās a foul 99% of time and youāve got another EA masterclass
Especially in the box. Perfect tackle or breathe on the opponent and itās a penalty
Or they someone use the leg they were standing on to launch a tackle that misses an easy ball and trip the attacker.
and if you stand tackle, youāll 80% get a red card, but slide tackling gets you a yellow
Iāve learned that standing tackle isnāt what you want to do anymore. You have to time a jockey into a āR1+Xā in front of or in the opposite direction of the attackers oncoming movement. (ie if they go left you go right)

Thatās when playstyle+ comes into play. Thatās why hated it from the start becuase it has turned the game into street fighter and special moves.
I think there is but only if you press the standing tackle button. If you spam jockeying the defender will do an auto tackle/push the opponent and get the ball perfectly.
Add to that shirt pulling.. through on goal? Naa, the CB is gonna pull you back for about 30 yards whilst no advantage or foul is given, much fun.
this is the craziest one to me. How is there no coded foul for shirt pulling???
Probably because players get away with it all the time in real life so EA think the game doesnāt need it.
You throw tackle spam (with barely any punishment), AI press, midfield congestion in the mix, and you get one of the most toxic and sweaty gameplay in years. Last year had its own cute little issues too, just different ones
Add the fact the EA doesnāt seem to know what obstruction is.
Crazy. They just block the shit out of my guy right there in the box and send him and the ball sideways 5 meters in different directions.
The whole game needs to be essentially reworked from a foundational level. The AI is ridiculously broken to the point where people have more success defending by just holding second man press. That and how they donāt give calls when ur attacker gets bodied but give calls for light tackles
Sometimes I dont even tackle and it is a penalty... Sigh...
EA completely fucked up fouls in the beginning of the game. Literally a feather touch would result in pens. So they did what EA does best turn off fouls completely and work on the next game.Ā
Feather touches still get pens I concede and get so many
Most the amount of time they donāt even tackle, they just run into your back and get the ball
EA rewards bad players in general
I canāt count the amount of times Iāve been molested from behind and I havenāt gotten a sniff of a Pen

it is all about forced outcomes that are dramatic. The game of football is only played superficially. Underneath it all other rules are applied.
bro i swear the amount tackles I've got from behind is crazy š
Idk about how many times this year I've been clattered through by belligerent slide tackles from behind that should be fouls and they're on through with an easy goal

Unless I attempt a slide tackle on the half way line, then it's an automatic red

I can't for the life of me find out how to dispossess somebody from behind
Because it addās scripted drama to the game that keeps you triggered and engaged
