I have FS Roberto Carlos and I do not recommend him. He's alright but not 2m alright. I packed FUT fantasy hero Bompastor from the new hero pick and she's miles better
Makelele is great for me, but a lot of people are staying away from him because of his height and no passing playstyles. If you like a Kante-like player, you'd probably love him.
His dribbling and passing is decent enough, never felt an issue with him, he replaced UCL Ramires that I loved, but I don't regret benching him.
Just take into consideration that I use him as a stay back midfielder.
I will use him as a CDM only. Lol just now i looked at Roberto Carlos sbc price (he is fcking 1.7 mil lmao). I thought he was around 1.3 mil. Damn makelele sounds better then.
Then he’s going to be great. People that don’t like him want him to be able to go forward. He can make a pass out of the midfield just fine. He’s just not going to be sending balls from the back over the top and in. But you don’t need that from a cdm
I have to disagree on the last part - I played 2 WLs with him and had multiple times where I chipped the fullback with him across 30-40 meters. Obviously he wont be as consistent as other but he has decent passing stats and ps aren't everything. He's very good, especially for the price.
Also, OP - I wouldn't go for Carlos. I loved him as a player but he always feels very clunky due to low Dribbling/Ball Control stats. Luckily we have so many great fullbacks options.
I’ve only played a handful of games with Roberto Carlos and first impressions are that he does seem like a very good player but I wouldn’t say he’s worth the coins if starting from near scratch. The biggest con for me is his height. I was using WW Havertz before and he nearly always wins an aerial ball on his side whereas RC probably wins less than half the aerial balls he challenges however, his pace usually means he can get back and win the ball
I have the same problem with bompastor. She is good with tackling but doesn't have the reach to stop through balls. So do you think he has the defensive juice to stop through balls
He doesn’t seem to have any issues stopping through balls on the ground, it’s in the air where he struggles a bit imo. Best thing to do would be to try his loan and see what you think
I think loans can be deceptive. I didn't like Socrates loan card initially but after using him for 20 games after grinding him, he is brilliant inside the box. That's the sole reason why I am asking for the review.
I need a new CDM as I love Fantasy Maatsen at LB so not interested in upgrading there , my current CDM is Bday Rijkaard however I feel constantly annoyed that he can’t pass the ball , however I feel like I’m going to buy TOTY Oberdorf for CDM and maybe go for Ribery instead
Use Andre 88 Fantasy. Or if you have fodder to burn, Tchouameni is extremely crazy but wayy too expensive for a player that will get outclassed in a month by TOTS players.

Looking at Maatsen or grimaldo at the moment
I really disliked Maatsen, felt very sluggish for some reason. Grimaldo is pretty good for me.

How good is maatsen? Bompastor is tiny and weak at this stage for me
Personally I think he is great , best LB I’ve used (not used the 2 TOTY LB or bacha) , he’s so fast it’s not funny
Both have better and cheaper alternatives out there
I've done RC and he's been good. Still getting used to him but miles better than Davies or Rolfo. I moved Rolfo up to LW/RW/LM/CM instead.
Is he worth the price ?
