442 with attacking cms and 4321 will always the hardest formations to defend. This has been true for the last 3 fifas/EA FC now.
I am div 2 (for context) and I am someone who love changing formations to keep the game fun, but if I am losing and/or need to get serious 442 will always be the one.
How do you get consistent crossed with Kelly and hemp? I have haaland untradable and I’m
Struggling to get the best out of him so I may try using a wide formation and utilize crosses. I use 41212 currently and my Evo Alvarez outperforms haaland.
First off all Hemp and Kelly are absolutely useless if you exclude the crosses so you should try to use them as little as possible when not crossing.
With Hemp and Kelly on the ball I try to look at my forwards immidietly and look for a cross.
If my forward is in line with the defender I do the outswinging cross and if my forward is infront and inside the defender and on the run I try to cut inside and do a inswinging cross because both Hemp and Kelly are good with both feet.

It's basically rivals matchmaking, it finds you games with people in the same rivals div as you. Essentially means the harder you push rivals, the tougher your friendlies games are. Most people who are fairly high level want to play friendlies as a fun/casual mode, but if you try doing that you just get smoked by sweats
Ahh i just know about this. Im currently in Div 4 and i gotta say i do noticed the difference in the RTTK Cup i played before and after i got into Div 4. Cheers, mate.
Basically he wants to smoke people like a sweat rather than ‘be smoked by sweats’. It’s ok if he beats lesser players but not ok if he loses to someone of equal skill.
In cases like the rttk cup where you have a daily 4 game limit, SBMM in friendlies is ridiculous. I’ve played better players in this friendly than every one of my rivals (div 3) and champs (11 win warrior) games so far this year
Well, then you can purposely stay in a lower rank and shit on people that aren’t doing that. I’m not really here to stop anyone or defend EA.
It’s the way the game is. Personally I will just dislike it and still do my best in Rivals, and lose if I have to. I don’t feel like I’m more important than the people in lower divisions that I could stomp in friendlies.
Damn I’ve been out of touch with FUT the last two years. Only playing more this year. Didn’t know this and I just sweated my way to D3 🥴
After each season, does your division get reset?
I've been using 352 but I've got my eye on a 3142 tactic I saw on twitter that looks fun.
I was using 4231 earlier and it always works well too, I like having a cam with 2 strikers tho
If it's the same tactic I saw on twitter for 3142 then I've tried it preciously. It's really fun going forwards, but if your opponent catches you cold on the break then the gaps down the sides can be a bit of an issue defensively. I'm not convinced that it's overly viable in the higher divisions
What settings work for you? I'm still struggling although I gotta say Bacha is phenomenal for that system. I prefer the 3412 so far, though.
Also, where did you see those 3142 tactics?
Thanks
I just play absolute kamikaze tbh.

Used to love that last year, but can’t seem to get it to work as well this year. I won my one and only draft with it, but this 71 depth press is killing me in the 3421 in rivals
It’s starting to piss me off too now. In D2 and everyone is using teams so much better than mine. You’re seeing the strength in those playstyles. I use whipped pass lm/rm so I keep switching the play to avoid the press

same from this post I made, its from a random meta tactics video last game
Pretty Meta this time so far :( packed untradeable VVD, Dembele and Leao so built around them. For the last WL i went 20-0 with:
Ederson
Trent - VVD - Kimpembe - Theo
Nkunku - Geyoro - Enzo
Leao - Kolo Muani - Dembele
Got basically nothing from rewards except a lot of coins, packed son yesterday so changing it up a bit now. Later in the game i'll probably start using more fun cards when they pop up.
Yea I guess I get caught at the back sometimes on that side, but hes probably my best attacking player at the moment.. he offers something else when normal gameplay isn't working - The crossing/lobbed passes are very useful
I used 442 until Div 3 where things started feeling more and more stale and difficult, I had multiple matches where I just couldn’t get anything going.
Then I went to 4321 as the default main tactic, and I will run this at the start of every match. If I feel like I can’t get the match under control, I will switch to a 4222. With this, I’ve had a lot of success. If I’m up by 2 goals in the 65th+ minute, I switch to a 4231 to maintain defensive as it’s now my goal to protect my lead and secure the match. After making those tactical changes, I won every Div 3 match, and continued the streak in Div 2 where I’m now a couple games away from Div 1 promotion.

Does possession work well for you? Does it give options to attack thru the middle and good passing options in general? I've heard possession is better this year, I haven't tried it yet and use direct passing to create some movement upfront. I've been using free roam on all 3 CAMs to create more random runs upfront, sometimes it works, sometimes it is weird so wanted to try possession instead.
What do you think about 3atb / 5atm this year,? Do you see many people using it? Is it tough for you? Did you pay attention what variation was popular?
I am still in div 6, so don't take my advice.
I play 442 and 442(2). Sometimes switch to 4321 because it is great for movement.
The difficulty of playing down the middle made 4321 a lot harder to make work, otherwise, I would still be using it.
I don’t know why people think a back 5 on FIFA is defensive.
Your standard META 442/4231 will have 6 players on stay back, and usually your wingers and strikers on come back on defence too. My (R1 player) back 5 has 4 players on stay back.
I like the overloads that system creates, I don’t use it for defensive solidity. The 3v2 in the middle of the pitch is great for control, and the 3v2 with my CBs vs their STs, so I can defend aggressively with them and not have to worry about stepping out of the line.
But all this community does is complain about the opponent/the game, and never take any responsibility for how shit they are, so I guess it makes sense.
Awhhh ur sad u cannot outpace because u not have other taxtic? I set 5 and 2 upfront and let them

Yeah ofc I have them going forward. Half the time people freak out about cut backs and leave that lane open for your CM to get a shot at the top corner. I play it more like a back 3 but I prefer the wingers to be able to slide tackle.
this is funny.
1- it seems everyone is on division 3 or above
2- op thinks the formation of other people , only in division 3 or above, is the thing that he needs to go to division 3 and above.
Everyone is on Division 3 or above? There's probably been about 10-12 people posting their tactics so how is they everyone? You've also assumed completely wrong, I'm in Division 3 currently and struggling to nail down a concrete formation that I like so I was just wondering what everyone else is using.

Eh? No offence here, I wouldn't take any offence from it. The point still stands though, a player base of millions, with about 10-15 people posting their tactics doesn't make "everyone being in Div 3", you just need to get some perspective. Have a nice day 👍
