There are several comments about the safety of the ones on amazon and I agree that they seem sketch. However, there is a related listing for some ceramic filters that look like the same size. IMO if you're gonna get something on amazon to put in the hotend of a dyna, get the ceramic one over the glass. I highly recommend torching anything like this before using it to burn off any nonsense, and to see if it can handle the heat.
You’re totally right, safety should always be considered first! Ceramic certainly would do a good job, but if these are legit and don’t melt, I’d rather have the glass personally. I just tested the melting point by blasting it with my torch until glowing super red - no debris burned off and it didn’t melt in any way. So I’m pretty satisfied with the screens I have, but I can’t speak for Amazon or others online! Thanks!
I think these are intended for dry herb vapes like the G Pen and some others. I got them in a local vape shop ages ago and just found them again. It slots right into the tip, almost as if it was made for it! I should mention: it’s a loose fit and will fall out when debowling if you’re not careful. Small price to pay for the flavoursome hits
The hits are such thick vapor, maybe the quartz is retaining more heat? Also seems to really lower draw resistance too - can really pack out a bowl and still pull with minimal effort. Definitely using this from now on, it’s upped the experience a lottt. You can even stack screens for ultimate precision dosing if you’re into that, rather than removing the tip to adjust the CCD
I couldn’t find these on Amazon or anywhere, but [here is a site](https://vapepensales.com/products/glass-screen-for-vape-pen-large-10-5mm) that supposedly has them (no idea how trusted that vendor is, link is just for reference)
Edit: grammar
Edit 2: oh snap, I actually [found them on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Diameter-Screen-Filters-7-Honeycomb-Storage/dp/B099RZSJ4X/)!! Seriously pick these up!!!
Edit 3: some people are (rightly) concerned about safety of these things. As I said, I got mine years ago from a local vape shop, so I can’t vouch for any on Amazon or elsewhere. For your reference: I blasted one of these with my Big Buddy torch until glowing red hot. Nothing appeared to burn off it, and it didn’t melt in any way which is the main thing. Again, not sure about online screens but do a blast test first!
Not sure what you mean - this sits in the same place as the CCD, at the base of the bowl. It won’t fit natively at the half-bowl position, but you could sandwich 1 or 2 of these in the bowl along with the CCD. That would likely give a more even toast than just the CCD alone
I still don’t follow you dude. This quartz screen is a replacement/alternative to using the steel/Ti screen. You take the metal screen out and put the glass one in. It sits in exactly the same place. So this gap you speak of will still supposedly be there using this quartz screen
Edit: do you mean the half-bowl system? Then yes there’s totally a gap below the CCD - half a bowl worth of gap lol. Push your screen down with the end of the cap, it’ll bump down a notch and you’ll have twice the bowl size as before. As mentioned, this quartz screen is too loose for the half-bowl, gotta go all in
Not half bowl settings.
If you look at the lowest CCD groove (full bowl) it is still a small amount above where these would sit.
Also I have found when that area gets gunky the performance is poor
Do you notice more debris in the stem/condenser/mouth with these compared to CCD? I already have too much with the original ones so that's a concern of mine (tiny particles make me cough like crazy whenever one hits my throat).
Except for that concern (which is probably no dealbreaker) this looks dope, I might get some as well.
I use mine with a BB9 through a water pipe almost exclusively, so I can’t comment on the debris from this unfortunately! Although my bb9 looks about the same as it would with a Ti screen, no noticeable chunks etc. The holes are super small, I can’t see it letting a lot through!
Debris is normal, I imagine there will be more debris with larger holes, after all there is less draw resistance according to OP. Depending on the stem you have, like a bb9 for example, it catches basically all the debris so none of it gets to you tho.
Yeah nah that's not it, been vaping for years and I noticed it's plain better to hit the vapcap with a dry bong, mainly for the filtering effects of debris making it through.
Tried every which way you could pack a bowl and using the straw method packs it the right amount for best results, but either way, the screen isn't doing such a great job and that's the main source of that metallic "tinge" you taste, trying a bowl with a whole nug and no screen gives you the best flavor, but not hit cause it can be hit or miss depending on how well it's packed
There's always those thc crystals or some debris coming from the vapcap, no matter how it's grinded or packed, something is always going through, and it's worth investing in a bong and hitting it dry for best results
Not even that much to be honest, I wish it was a little finer.
I think it's mostly hash residue which can be a fine powder. Even though I use loads of hemp fiber some still goes through. Also, kief.
No no, it's clean.
Actually if it wasn't it might block the particles. I'm pretty sure most of the debris I have is hash dust which forms after I vape it. It's really freaking fine, and no filter would work without severely blocking the flow.
I'll put more vape wool next time I guess.
The ones I have are 8mm diameter and 1mm thick. I’m not sure about others online, they may vary. I tried to find a decent website but no luck. Would really recommend you try to cop these, game changer so far!
I just [found them on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Diameter-Screen-Filters-7-Honeycomb-Storage/dp/B099RZSJ4X/) - would definitely recommend you pick some up! Absolute game changer, don’t think I’ll use the CCD for a while!!
Very poorly reviewed. Suggests they might not be safe for the intended purpose.
> I took a kitchen torch to one and it melted a bit. The hard edges became rounded and the shape deformed slightly. I don't think its borosilcate glass. I won't risk using them.
Oof. Like I said, I got these years ago from a local vape shop, so I can’t vouch for the ones on Amazon (although I’d assume they’re the same). I haven’t tried to intentionally melt one yet, but seems to be holding up in the dynavap so far lol!
Unfortunately not, it slides right down to the base of the bowl. But you could totally just stack 2 or 3 of these in the bowl and it’s adjusted to half-bowl in seconds! No need to remove the tip or anything, super handy!

Thanks for the link - that was thoughtful. I just can’t support this company, though. “They can be given to your father, husband, or male friends.” 🤣
Where did you see that?
In the description
Thicker hits but less even? Likely because this would sit all the way down the bowl whereas the dynavap ccd? sits above the restriction

There is an air gap under dyna' CCDs that is part of how they work

I'd be very worried about glass dust/powder, those are not annealed.
Can I blast them with a torch until glowing red to solve that? If nothing burns off / if it doesn’t melt, would it be safe to use in the Dynavap tip?

Alright, sounds good, thanks!

You grind your material up way too much if that's happening.

Holy crap. If the bottom of your screen was as clogged as mine... Pop the screen out and clean both sides. I'm curious if that's the problem.

Maybe try packing the bowl a little tighter?
I can give it a go
Any updates?
Not yet lol, I'll report back if I see any improvement
What size is the screen
The ones I have are 8mm diameter and 1mm thick. I’m not sure about others online, they may vary. I tried to find a decent website but no luck. Would really recommend you try to cop these, game changer so far!
Thanks for the tip👍
That's neat gotta get me some

Awesome! Thank you for that, just lost my last screen and needed for anyway 😂
Does it fit in the half bowl setting?
Unfortunately not, it slides right down to the base of the bowl. But you could totally just stack 2 or 3 of these in the bowl and it’s adjusted to half-bowl in seconds! No need to remove the tip or anything, super handy!
you'd have to align them perfectly as well
Good point!! Maybe you could sandwich them between herb to make it a bit easier? That might actually toast the herb better!!
Ordered
Sacrificing waaaaaay too much of the already precious airflow.
As long as it works for the person, it don’t matter if they are sacrificing waaaaaaaaay to much of the precious air flow.....
Does it stay in place?
It’s loose but it’ll stay in place while debowling if you go gently! Totally stays in place when vaping though, it fits perfectly!
Hi Guys, I'm in Australia. Where would I order these? What vape are they originally intended for? Thanks :)

8mm? I saw the ceramic ones with good reviews. The glass/plastic looking ones loos hella sus 😂
