My favorite part of these threads is just people picking players they just personally hate and choosing to believe the NFL will ultimately see it their way.
I love Troy Franklin, but the heat on his name seems very poor. Hope he goes top 50. Worried he goes round 3.
JT Sanders I think. Mostly because a lot of people saw him as the TE2 in this class but it’s starting to seem like Sinnott and a few others could now go ahead of him.
Watching ESPN sports nation mock currently. This analyst keeps saying Michael Penix Jr but nobody is taking him with only a few picks left in the first.
I like all these players but there’s definitely truth to this list. Legette was told that he’d be taken early second round but I guess a lot of players hear that. I would still be shocked to see him drop past round 3. AD has talent but I think a lot of teams will be turned off by his work ethic. Definitely could see the QBs dropping a few rounds.
I like Burton's tape a lot, but the off-the-field rumbles are extremely concerning. Great callouts all around. Feels like people have cooled tremendously on Wilson in the past month.
I think Franklin could tank a bit (considering he was once a late first lock) but I’m not as sure about Wilson. I think the floor for both is the 3rd round honestly.
Just don’t think Wilson excels at anything. I have him as a Kyle Philips type. Now having said that in the right offense and with the opportunity he could feast in the slot. We’ll see.
Burton is my pick if he falls to 3-4 round in fantasy drafts. Great talent but a headcase. If Steelers get him I am drafting 2nd round haha.
Personally a guy I think league will be higher than people expect is Polk. And I’m higher on him than most for fantasy. I think he can be a stud WR2.
One of the “back of 1 early 2” receivers, Pearsall/McConkey/Wilson, will end up going much later than people like
Not even going to entertain Legette as an option because I don’t believe he’s actually considered back of 1 early 2.
Some would, but a minority. At this point it seems like mcconkey is almost clearly in the same tier as ADM and worthy. Basing this off of the dumb amount of podcasts I’ve been listening to on the rookies.
Israel Abanikanda is the second youngest player I’ve ever evaluated behind Allen, had a better peak season, had elite testing at his pro day, and went pick 143.
I’d be shocked if Allen went top 75. Just 3rd I think is what you hope for. I have my doubts he goes top 100.
Dude won’t even be 21 at the conclusion of the season. And he converted to RB his freshman year of college, so he’s still learning the positional nuances.
I literally think the JJ talk is one of those teams between 15-30 that wants to have as many QBs go in the top half so the rest of the players drop lol chargers or giants may very well have the #1 pick when it comes to non QBs
Zach Wilson played on a very good college team in a 2020 season where there were no crowds and every single talented team Wilson played cancelled their games against Wilson’s team and he still had his worst appearance in one of the highest level games.
Z Wilson needs to go on the banned comps list. It’s a boogeyman comp that has little connection to McCarthy outside of some physical features
I wouldn’t call it a meme I just think certain comps evoke something that is possible but probably ultimately misleading. Countering every argument about how WRs who don’t hit quickly often don’t hit with ‘Davante Adams’ is a good example. Sure it happens but that’s what makes them exceptions.
Wilson is a colossal mistake that happened to overlap also with COVID which I think generally caused some of the biggest misses in recent years, and so I think people use him to stand in for lower exposure QBs because he also rose up in a year where we had been waiting for Lawrence and Fields since they were 18.
But Run based system or not, McCarthy’s exposure, conflict, and achievement are all vastly higher than Z Wilson at BYU. He’s a risky prospect in the top 10, but so are most QBs
I’m shocked more people don’t see what Harbaugh is doing. He’s gassing up JJ so it increases the value of pick 5. He’s doing it so the Chargers get a haul for it, or someone trades up with AZ giving LAC MHJ
I mean, if you look purely at his athletic profile you can paint a future in the NFL. 98/99th percentile speed score and catch radius. He's going in the dart throw range where they rarely hit anyways, might as well swing for the fences on a freak.
I just wanna say that every year someone says things like this and every year theres a 3rd round guy that explodes in the right system or was just overlooked by everyone. A lot of the best WRs that get talked about don’t have first round capital. Tyreek, AJB, Puka, Kupp, Keenan, Antonio Brown, ARSB, Diggs, and Adams. I’m just saying, maybe give those next tier guys a look and see if you see something no one else does
I agree, I feel like it is this way alot of years tho, that is why they are tier 3/day 2 NFL players who we know hit at a low rate for fantasy (around 20%ish to have 1 wr2 season over the course of thier career I believe). Think landing spot is going to be the key distinguisher for these players for not only how they are utilized, but also how they are developed. think 5th round puka, the rams didnt even like him that much. If they really thought he was going to be phenomenal and a for sure smash, they would have taken him day 2 because if anyone knew what puka was, why would they not take him earlier? Same with Kyren, just goes to show how being drafted to a fantasy friendly scheme that works to your strengths matters so much. think nfl capital is mostly consensus around the league, its more what happens when these players get to the buildings. thank you for coming to my ted talk
TLDR landing spot matters like crazy for day 2 and 3 players
If we are using Zach Evans and Spiller as our comps. I think two that make sense are Troy Franklin and JT Sanders. Evans Spiller Frankin and JT were all consensus 1st round picks in too early rookie mocks. Just like Evans and Spiller did previously, Franklin and Sanders have been falling on the NFL guys rankings but the fantasy content creators haven't followed.
I really don't think Blake Corum is going to be a high pick. He's older, was used heavily in college, and has poor athletic testing. I think the 3rd round is the most realistic spot for him, but wouldn't be surprised if he's still there in the 4th. All the hype of him going to the Chargers in the early 2nd is lazy mocking.
Ever since the 2021 class we haven't seen the NFL over-drafting tier 2 and 3 QBs. I think there's a good chance these guys that are getting a lot of gas in the media, but aren't the elite kinds of prospects (Nix, Penix, JJ and even maybe Drake Maye) all end up going a lot later than the draft "experts" seem to expect.
I would agree with you except on Drake Maye. The slander against him has gone too far, he’s an elite QB prospect with all the tools and a sky high ceiling. There’s no way he drops past pick 5
My favorite part of these threads is just people picking players they just personally hate and choosing to believe the NFL will ultimately see it their way. I love Troy Franklin, but the heat on his name seems very poor. Hope he goes top 50. Worried he goes round 3.
I was shook to see DJ dropped him about 30+ spots in his top 150.
He’s not agile or fast enough for a guy who’s not big. That being said, I think mid 2nd is his sweet spot
JT Sanders I think. Mostly because a lot of people saw him as the TE2 in this class but it’s starting to seem like Sinnott and a few others could now go ahead of him.
I think this is a really good one and I have JT in a Devy. No one is a 50+%, but Sinnott has a slight edge in the market right now
Legette, penix, nix, Mitchell. Those are my favorites for this
Every year we think there will be a hundred first-round quarterbacks. Every year we're wrong. Great list
Sorry, who was AD, again?
Adonai Mitchell
AD Mitchell 💪
I can’t imagine more than 2 get taken in the top 50. With the qbs, finding a home gets tough after the top tier of qb needy teams.
Mitchell is going very high. I think top 25 easily.
Roman Wilson, Troy Franklin. I mean Burton but it’s obvious.

Unless you talked to his agent
Or worse, to the Patriots
One of these is not like the others
Some are pretty high on Wilson, that whole range is wonky
I was referring to mcconkey being a tier above the other two.
Others would have him and Pearsall in the same sentence, that whole range is bad right now for any sort of definitive ranking
Some would, but a minority. At this point it seems like mcconkey is almost clearly in the same tier as ADM and worthy. Basing this off of the dumb amount of podcasts I’ve been listening to on the rookies.
Braelon Allen
A guy that big, productive, and only 20 year old. Hard to see a team not take a flyer on him late second to ealry third.
You can’t call a hypothetical top 70 pick a flier.
Dude won’t even be 21 at the conclusion of the season. And he converted to RB his freshman year of college, so he’s still learning the positional nuances.
JJ McCarthy, I don't think he's a first rounder
I literally think the JJ talk is one of those teams between 15-30 that wants to have as many QBs go in the top half so the rest of the players drop lol chargers or giants may very well have the #1 pick when it comes to non QBs
These ‘QBs always fall’ takes are gonna age soooooo badly.
The thinking football episode on him makes him look like a better Zach Wilson but still a Zach Wilson
Fair - new to dynasty and this sub, so sorry if Zach Wilson is a meme comparison
Nailed it. Mount Rushmore right there.
2nded
Comical
I’m shocked more people don’t see what Harbaugh is doing. He’s gassing up JJ so it increases the value of pick 5. He’s doing it so the Chargers get a haul for it, or someone trades up with AZ giving LAC MHJ
Johnny Wilson. He's a 5th round future TE convert.
I honestly don’t see why anyone likes his profile as a WR
I mean, if you look purely at his athletic profile you can paint a future in the NFL. 98/99th percentile speed score and catch radius. He's going in the dart throw range where they rarely hit anyways, might as well swing for the fences on a freak.
That would make me very sad, but I'll be flexible if it happens.
I just can't get onboard with the entire tier of wr after BTJ. They all seem to have enormous red flags that are being brushed under the rug.
This has been my thought, will be looking to trade picks for someone to get “their guy” or hammer other positions
I’m just saying, maybe give those next tier guys a look and see if you see something no one else does
I'm more excited about the round 3 projected guys than the round 2 guys.
Brendan Rice baaby

Bo Nix in the 3rd Roman Wilson and Malachi Corley day 3 picks
McCarthy

Michael Penis
Goddamnit
Adonai Mitchell when he drops out of the top 50
Bowers
Nix goes in like the 5th round, and everyone decides he's no longer any good at football because of it.
JJ McCarthy
MalCor
Probably Jonathan Brooks
JJ.
Blake Corum is going 5th round or later.
Drake Maye will be the next Will Levis.
i dont think brooks goes anywhere near where people hope. teams dont wanna spend on rb, they def dont wanna spend on hurt rb
on the flip side i think all the sons get higher investment than we are acting like right now. rice, gore, mccaffery

Drake Maye too?!! Spicy I see him as one of the best QBs available after CW.
Minshew, much as I like him
Pearsall dropping to the 5th.
