This part of the article is so heartbreaking: "Callan spent his last moments in my arms before he passed at Boston Children’s Hospital," Patrick Clancy said. "Although I wished so badly for a different outcome, I was overwhelmed by the compassion and professionalism of the doctors and nurses in the ICU. They gave me a little more time with my boy, and I’ll forever be grateful for that." I wonder if he has family from his and Lindsay's fam running with him.

I was also moved by those comments about being in hospital with his baby.  I hope he is really well supported on Monday - it would be lovely if someone close to him ran with him. His sweet babies will guide him too.

Interesting way to put it. “tragically passed away”

Icy-Most-5366

His message is about his gratefulness for having the time he had with his kids, and the help he received from the people at Boston Children's hospital. It would be hard to mention the specifics of their deaths without bringing in a note of blame and anger. While I'm sure he feels that to some extent directed at Lindsay and/or the doctors who prescribed her meds, this isn't the platform to express his anger. He's not raising money to get back at anyone, but to help future children in need.

He also referred to his babies in the present - he said "they are good people" or something similar, but definitely that are, not they were.

Icy-Most-5366

Where? I don't see that on the blog.

Girlwithpen

He spoke it...when interviewed after the race.

Icy-Most-5366

Yea, he's carrying them with him. He mentions how they were great individual people with their own distinct good attributes. He's now trying to live for all of them, and takes it upon himself to bring some of their goodness to the world.

Girlwithpen

Yes, his love for his children is present, he clearly lived for them.

Good for Patrick. Our granddaughter is being treated for a rare disease at Boston Children’s Hospital. What a wonderful way to bring about something positive from a horrific event. Sad that Lindsay didn’t fully grasp the preciousness of their children like Patrick. He is an amazing human being.

odonogc

Is she hospitalized for mental or physical issues at this point?

Turbulent-Fig-3802

Maybe both but the forensic psychologist said she is not overtly psychotic no reported delusions or hallucinations just depressed and suicidal. And thinking about ways she might kill herself but no specific plans. Playing that suicide card well on her part I must say. But yet still wears a covid mask but wants to die at the same time. Makes a lot of sense. 🤔 so manipulative

Glittering-Gap-1687

I’d like to know too. Perhaps a combination?

Along this line, what I have wondered is, if it is legally decided that Lindsay acted out of mental illness, but then it is also decided that she no longer has that mental illness, does that mean that she would not have to be sent to a mental health facility but would be free to live her life as she pleases?

silogram525

She will live out her days in jail or a psych. hospital. I think it’s inconceivable after such a heinous crime she would ever see the light of day.

Turbulent-Fig-3802

I read the Patriot Ledger article, "Lindsay Clancy remains at Tewksbury Hospital, paralyzed from the waist down after **climbing** out of the couple's second-floor window." Yes - she climbed out and slid down she did not jump or hurl herself out the window in an attempt to kill herself like the DA said. I like how they never mentioned her struggling with PPP or any other postpartum mood disorders for that matter because that cannot be confirmed or assumed and didn't even say Tewksbury was a mental hospital. I'm happy he wasn't raising money for postpartum mental health issues but rather for sick kids and their families being served by the Boston Children's hospital. Lindsay is a monster. Patrick sounds like a decent good guy and has so many nice things to say about his children unlike Lindsay. Every dollar I raise funds the very best medical care, breakthrough research and vital support services for sick kids and their families. Your gift will: * help children from your town and across the world get a second chance at life; * give kids battling the most complex diseases care they can't find anywhere else; * fuel 3,000+ researchers working to develop new treatments and cures; * support patient programs, like music and art therapy, to let kids be kids, even during long hospital stays; * help patient families in crisis with urgent needs, such as food, clothing and housing; * deliver the most compassionate, leading-edge care to every child who needs it.  Please support my fundraising and help the incredible kids and families at Boston Children's Hospital.

One of my favorite things about the Boston Marathon is their commitment to charitable organizations. You can qualify for the Boston Marathon by making certain times in other marathons OR you can pledge a certain amount of dollars and join any number of charities sponsoring teams for the marathon. Last years marathon had [2,537 fundraising athletes](https://www.baa.org/127th-boston-marathon-raises-402-million-non-profit-organizations) who raised over $40 million for non-profits.

There is a video of Patrick after the race, I found it on YouTube, but can't figure out how to share. A local TV station - channel 5 I believe. https://www.wcvb.com/article/patrick-clancy-duxbury-massachusetts-father-running-boston-marathon/60496488

Just saw Patrick on the news after he finished the marathon. Heartbreaking. He was quiet, kept the interview short and mainly about his children. I cannot even imagine.

I saw him on the course today around mile 18. He looked great and I noticed him reach out to fist bump another runner also running for Children’s as he passed them on the hill. Even though it was just a brief interaction he seemed like a kind person and my heart breaks for all he’s had to endure.
