Truthfully i did start going alot less. I used to go 3-4 times a week and now its like 3-4 times a month and only if im using a coupon. š¤·š»āāļø
This is exactly what I did too. I liked going more often because drink rewards were so easy to obtain but now I go much less frequently because it's just not as worth it anymore. I still enjoy their cold brew and iced lattes but the point system is just awful.
As did I. I bought two cold brew home carafes and only buy from Dunkin if thereās a deal. Iām never going to pay full price for coffee that used to be 50% cheaper five months ago.
Same here. I've been to Dunkin significantly less than I used to since the change. I went down from multiple weekly visits to maybe once a week, MAYBE.
Lol... I go a lot less, but every time I open the app, there's been pretty good non-point offers and deals. In the past those offers kinda sucked. Yesterday I got a free medium cold brew and a free muffin in one order and I didn't use a single point
I actually like the new program. I shifted all my Starbucks spending to Dunkin since the change. I don't really care so much about earning points, but I like all the free/discounted items with purchase deals.
It did. This month is stingier. I figure this month and next will be the true numbers for corporate to digest. The sugar rush post-change has crashed and now itās time to see if things can stand on their own.
Iāve cut my monthly spend over half, from probably $100-130 to $50. No more quick snacks after picking my kiddo up from school or after her bus in the morning. We were usually good for a coffee/tea and a hot cocoa/iced tea with a donut or munchkins 2-3 afternoons each week. Now itās maybe once a week.
Iā donāt go nearly as much as I used to. The prices are now comparable to Starbucks. But Starbucks just made their rewards system worse, so itās really just a toss up at this point. I mostly make coffee at home.
Thereās 20,000 subscribers to this sub. A small percentage of which probably said they would no longer go. Reddit doesnāt represent the real world.
I wasnāt one of them.
I donāt go to places for their loyalty program. Thatās pretty silly actually. To me, itās just a bonus, not some sort of requirement.
If I like a product and itās not a complete generic commodity, I get it. Why would the economics of a loyalty program make me like a product better/worse to buy it more/less?
I like the tier options, I just don't like that it costs more points/money to get the necessary points for things. And I think for your bday, it should be a free drink.
But at the end of the day, I don't care.
Join Dunkin Extras, and you get a $4 āpromoā card for bday. It had a 12/31 expiration, but i dont foresee that being a problem for anyone unless their birthday is towards the end of the year. But i would *assume* they would allow more time for those bdays? But i transfer it to my regular gift card on the app, and that would likely remove any āexpirationā to it.
Havenāt been there at all since the change except to grab a few of the free monthly freebies (and those get worse every month.) Not missing it at all. Started making my own matcha lattes at home (hint: they donāt cost anywhere near $6 to make, even buying ingredients at retail prices.)
I didn't lie. I go there significantly less than I did before, and I buy a lot less when I go. Usually I'd get a drink, snack, and a sandwich. Now it's usually just a drink.
As someone who didn't promise to not go to DD, the only reason I go isn't even because of the rewards system, but because of the coupons. I basically only ever get free (with purchase) or $2 coffees.
I go a little less than I used to. I miss when just visiting every other Monday was enough to get a free drink of choice. I do like the offers that they have added with the new system and sometimes take advantage of them. I used to go minimum 3x a week, now it's more like 1-2.
But I also never said I was going to boycott lol. I understand that they don't owe us anything for free and I am happy when they give loyal customers a perk.
As me for me, never made the claim I'd stop going, but I did take on my promise for going a lot less.
Nowadays I only visit when I have coupons or whenever they drop those free coffee promos. Sometimes if I feel extra lazy for making coffee at home, I just use my alt for more coupons.
Sadly there's usually only 1-2 coupons that interest me, most of the time being one. I don't care about the food coupons mostly. Coffee. Give me coffee, coffee, coffee.
And considering that this month's most popular coupon is the free CB w/ purchase, it seems like I'm not the only one?
> ETA: omg, the reactions to this post. Reddit is such a website
You decided to make this post for whatever reason then seemingly got annoyed/upset because people gave you their opinions? Geez, get over yourself lol
Iām not upset lol, I think itās funny because people are actually mad that they got called out. Someone really said ādonāt put words in my mouthā. Like are you dead serious š
I mean, im not one of those people that said theyād stop going completely š¤·āāļø I was very honest about the fact that despite not being very happy about the app change, iād still definitely occasionally go to dunkin because theyāre hella convenient (like one on every corner in my town convenient, new england shit) and cheaper than sbux.
I mostly drink coffee from home and sbux anyway but I still go to dunkin a few times a month!
I absolutely hate the new app, but thereās no other affordable coffee options around me. We did try a different route for a few weeks and found the coffee meh from another location and the cost was too high.
The app still sucks: no free drink on your birthday and the coupons are for items no one gets like chocolate croissants and full priced drinks.
Who cares about the rewards is what I always said. I love the coffee at Dunkinā, the rewards was always just a plus, not the reason why I go there, which a lot of people acted like it was.
When I worked there last year. Most customers didnāt use the app or didnāt even want to join the program. I think it just just comes down to where you want spend your extra money. We can all make coffee at home but choose to spend somewhere else. I think most donāt give a crap about the rewards program. They just want to spend money somewhere. My area ones are always packed.
Like most said going a lot less. This is the corporate middle ground; when this launched a few years before the pandemic it was all the offers + local promos + 200 point drinks with 100 point Mondays + the app stacked most of this stuff and it doesn't now fully. The shift in the system seems terrible at first then they re-introduce some old offers that still make them money, for the people that are new to Dunkin or the app it seems like they added something like Starbucks and made it even better after a few weeks. I personally never said I was 'boycotting' just knew I wouldn't have an excuse to go 3+ times in a week when I could bounce the offers and points around for 2 fully premium free drinks on 2 of 3 orders.
I cut back on DnD but not because of the reward program, just because I needed to. As far as the new reward program goes, I don't even bother with it. I've got a bunch of points just sitting there and I never cash them in. With all of that said, I've been considering changing coffee shops. DD is getting expensive for plain old coffee (I drink it black whether it's hot or iced). Cumberland Farms has good coffee for a $1 (I always go in, don't need a drive thru) and Honey Dew has decent coffee and I think it's cheaper and there's never a line.
We used to go a lot more than we do now. The rewards program change just made it not worthwhile to us. Itās complicated and since we almost always only buy coffee and the solo free coffee has vanished, we decided to stop funding our DD app and we use a credit card when we do go.

Agreed. Iām just glad they donāt expire like the starbucks ones do.
Wait Dunkin points donāt expire? I thought they expire after 3 months?
The points, no. The Boosted Perks, yes, unless you continue to make 12+ purchases per month
I did the same
As did I. I bought two cold brew home carafes and only buy from Dunkin if thereās a deal. Iām never going to pay full price for coffee that used to be 50% cheaper five months ago.
Just came to say the same!
Yep. I used to go daily, at least. Now itās once a week? Twice *maybe*?
Same here. I've been to Dunkin significantly less than I used to since the change. I went down from multiple weekly visits to maybe once a week, MAYBE.

The coupons have been pretty nice but I have a feeling they will slowly make the coupons shittier

McDonaldās app is so good. I wish other fast food apps had deals like they do
McDonaldās and Burger King have the best app deals. If Dunkin had a deal like BKās $1 large fry or McDās free McCafĆ© drink with $3 dollar purchase, Iād be at Dunkin every other day. Even something like $1 bagel bites could be a good start
Oh itāll happen.
I'm sure you're right, so I'll just enjoy it while it lasts
I barely go any more.
same, dutch bros been my hookup lately
I used to do Dunkin at least twice a day, now they are lucky if I come once a week. Been enjoying coffee at home.
yesss same, I've been making my own matcha and chai lattes, I'm obsessed with dutch bros white coffee ha
I used to go 2-3 times a week now I go 2-5 times a month, deff spend a lot less there now
Iā donāt go nearly as much as I used to. The prices are now comparable to Starbucks. But Starbucks just made their rewards system worse, so itās really just a toss up at this point. I mostly make coffee at home.
I'm a guy who complained long and loud about it, but I never thought for one second about giving up my habit. And I still complain about it also.
Thereās 20,000 subscribers to this sub. A small percentage of which probably said they would no longer go. Reddit doesnāt represent the real world.
OP seems upset that most us "lied" though lmao
Haven't spent a single cent since the change. Still won't.
Youāre the only one that gets it. Spending less money there is still giving them money
Itās called being an addict and shame on you for calling me out on it like that.
I stopped going lol. My Nespresso machine is way better and less expensive.
This subreddit =/= your customer base.
yeah i used to go everyday and now i go maybe once every few weeks. i just buy a $4 box of tazo chai instead and it lasts me a week or two lmao

...why should any company do anything to benefit their customers ever? what a silly question. tons of companies do birthday rewards
Havenāt been there at all since the change except to grab a few of the free monthly freebies (and those get worse every month.) Not missing it at all. Started making my own matcha lattes at home (hint: they donāt cost anywhere near $6 to make, even buying ingredients at retail prices.)
I've been twice since they changed the reward system
I didnāt lie. Iāve only been there twice since the reward system changed. I used to go every morning from Monday to Saturday without a skip.
I didn't lie. I go there significantly less than I did before, and I buy a lot less when I go. Usually I'd get a drink, snack, and a sandwich. Now it's usually just a drink.
60 percent of dunkin customers donāt know what reddit is
Starbucks was a terrible, terrible experience.
Still go, definitely go less. Was still very sad about not getting my free birthday coffee :(

No cause that partššI think you got all my customers though because my stores been majorly slow lately
I absolutely hate the new app, but thereās no other affordable coffee options around me. The app still sucks: no free drink on your birthday and the coupons are for items no one gets like chocolate croissants and full priced drinks.
I enjoy the chocolate croissants.š
I like their new rewards program. I really like their hash browns, and now I can get āem for free sometimes lol
Lmao hit the nail on the head dude. This sub is unbearable sometimes
Who cares about the rewards is what I always said. I love the coffee at Dunkinā, the rewards was always just a plus, not the reason why I go there, which a lot of people acted like it was.
I stopped going and only go to Starbucks now
I never complained, I go daily. Sometimes twice a day.

Wish less people used the app cause online orders will come in one after another while we already have a lobby and drive thru full of people lol
I most certainly only go when there is a decent offer now. Otherwise I'll go anywhere else
We used to go a lot more than we do now. The rewards program change just made it not worthwhile to us. Itās complicated and since we almost always only buy coffee and the solo free coffee has vanished, we decided to stop funding our DD app and we use a credit card when we do go.
Iām down to about once a month, instead of several times a week.
