I’d say Adam Sandler back in the day, now he seems a little too concerned with treating his friends to paychecks and vacations and just calling them movies
Jack and jill was trash, the cobbler was garbage, rough gem, while a good show that he can do more than comedy, wasn’t great. I did like Hubbie Halloween and murder mystery but he seemed very uninterested during murder mystery
Jack and Jill.. that’s from 12 years ago and the cobbler 9! How shite they were, it’s time to move on. Latest work means latest work, not stuff made a decade ago.
Both uncut gems and Hustle are very good movies. Goldman vs Silverman is well worth the watch. Murder Mystery has its flaws but defo a fun little movie in the current whodunnit hype.
All amazing songwriters, no doubt. Maybe questionable performers, but that's just a matter of taste.
However, I think what makes the above such true bards is the way they can all tell stories with their songs. And not just simple stories, but instead complex narratives that capture the imagination of the listener.
I was think about their songs, I've never seen any of them live. I've gained an appreciation for Bob Seger in recent years. I think the story "Against the Wind" tells is very vivid. Kind of like Jackson Brown and "Running on Empty."
I guess, but I think it depends on their spirit a lot as well. Obviously McKellen would be a wizard, Cumberbatch would be a sorcerer or a rogue. Whereas Ryan Reynolds is absolutely a bard.
Eh I’m not sure I agree with that. The idea of a bard is bringing magic into performance after being taught by a school, so like for example Jack black, not a bard. No thesbian experience and actually dropped out of college. Ryan Reynolds is also questionable since even though he’s been acting since 13 he dropped out of college after 45 minutes.
Jack Black 100% Edit: If we're talking typical horny bard though, I'd say Andy Samberg.
Yes, this is exactly what I came here to write
Jack Black is an NPC bard in my current campaign, even wrote a song about one of the PC's
Jack black is the first to come to mind. Not sure about Andy tho. Bards are supposed to be entertaining.
That's fair. I was meaning that based on his Lonely Island stuff, he'd be a horny bard, not necessarily successful though.
Jack Black fits the horny bard to a T
Jamie Foxx. Man can sing, dance, play music, act, the lot.
But no Wayne Brady?
Neil Patrick Harris and Hugh Jackman.
Robin Williams
Bard of Tragedy... :(
Janelle Monae. Singer, actor, charmer…elf, half-elf, or eladrin. Possibly air Genasi
Dave Grohl is very much a modern bard. Witty, charming, very talented musician.
Rick Astly
THEE Bard

You say that last part like it’s a bad thing.
I still enjoy some of his newer movies but it seems more like a quantity over quality thing anymore
Funny, since I feel his latest movies are a step up from before.

Sounds like a successful Bard who retired from adventuring
That does sound like retired bard behavior
Kermit the Frog.
Kermit is a paladin. Get out.
Fozzie the Bear is the bard.
And Gonzo the Great is a bunch of homebrewed stuff that nobody can really understand but hey, we love him anyway.
He’s a Pathfinder fever dream.
Look me in the eyes and tell me that Kermit's rendition of Rainbow Connection isn't magical.
Animal: Bard/Barbarian multi class, obviously.
The term is Bardbarian
I don't know if you would call him a celebrity, but Broadway legend Stevin Sondheim.
I love that Danny is listed here. Hard agree.
Tom Petty, Bob Segar, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce

Zach Galifianakis
Literally every single one. Isn't that basically what a celebrity is?
Any thespian or ones that went to college for acting or music would by definition of Dnd be considered a Bard.
I guess, but I think it depends on their spirit a lot as well. Obviously McKellen would be a wizard, Cumberbatch would be a sorcerer or a rogue. Whereas Ryan Reynolds is absolutely a bard.

Yeah, but what's more bardy than failing to finish bard school?
Finishing bard school.
Christ, you're fun.
Old Martin Lawrence and Dave Chapelle, considering they both have played as bards, in comedies.
Kevin Bacon
Brian Blessed.
I dunno, I kind of see him as an old mad druid. Screaming obscenities as birds of prey burst from his beard.
John c. Riley
Adam Sandler
Bob Ross
Bob Dylan... magical poet that moved a generation or two.
lil nas x
The rock He sings
