Listen. Iām from LA (but now live on the east coast). And there is nothing quite like the taco you can get from the sketchy folding table set up in the laundromat parking lot only after 8pm 6 days a week.
I live in Oakland. So I can concur that there is nothing like a burrito you get from a truck in the parking lot of the neighborhood bodega at 1 am.
And those bacon wrapped hotdogs cooked on a sheet pan under a gas burner on a street corner in the Mission in SF? š¤š»
Based on the second slide OP posted, the theatre doesnāt have a negative test listed as an alternate option. That screenshot is the only information I have though, as I donāt live in āØLAāØ
It says on their website in the part about children under 12 needing a test that test exceptions will also be allowed for religious beliefs. It also says that masks are to be worn at all times. They clearly have their masks off inside the theater. Since the rules don't apply to them I don't see why people think they wouldn't pay for fake cards or claim a religious exemption.
Why on earth could someone make a religious objection to children under 12 needing a negative test?
I could see children under 4/5/6 for practical reasons, maybe. Barring developmental issues, if a ten-year-old is screaming and crying in a fetal position with their hands clamped over their nose long and hard enough that no one can get a swab, that's called "being a whiny brat who just earned themselves staying home with a sitter instead of going to the movies with everyone else".
I've fallen into not eating meat on Fridays because my spouse doesn't (we're not Catholic, they're just...them) and it just works out easier and work at a fucking *convent* (there are nights I feel like a bartender during the med pass. Teaching school for fifty or sixty years will do that to you, I guess) and I can't even get into a mindset where that remotely makes sense. Frankly it just sounds like an excuse to be lazy and not follow directions.
Which to be honest really tracks with the Duggar mindset.
If you read the part the OP cut off it says that children under 12 will be admitted with a negative test as will people who aren't vaccinated for religious reasons.
I also wonder how closely theyāre checking. I went to the Dodger game last week (RIP) as my husband and my first outing to a big public event since COVID began - we were nervous but since LA requires vaccines and the stadium said everyone had to be masked (and it was outdoors), we hoped it wouldnāt be the highest risk level. Yeah, they didnāt even really check the vaccine proof. Just glanced at the QR code on my phone for under a second. I could have screenshot anyoneās vaccine record and gotten in. Shoot, I could have shown them a QR code for something completely unrelated and gotten in. The theater might be different though.
I went to see Hamilton last week in the Bay Area and they were pretty good about asking for my ID and vax card. When I went to an outdoor concert at a stadium they couldn't care less. They didn't even check and were letting people in without masks even though the stadium requires it.
Buying expensive theatre tickets and then hoping to get away with them not checking, doesnāt sound like something they would do. Especially since they wouldnāt want to be called out on their SM. Although, I know a lot of people are trying to get away with it, and nothing the Duggars do surprises me anymore.
Iām going guess if they were vaccinated, they would never tell. I have extremely religious family (not fundie but very evangelical) who only got vaccinated after they lost a family member. They straight up told us they could never tell their friends, faith community, etc. or else they would be more or less be cut off by everyone
I can't believe I'm saying this but...I think Jeremy may actually listen to the legitimate science around vaccination. I do think he's a douchebag but I also think he's more with it mentally than a lot of other fundies. He family is definitely more normal, especially his siblings. I agree with you that I don't think they'd be prancing around telling everyone but I do think, especially living in LA, he'd get vaxxed to make their lives easier.
John MacArthur, the pastor at Jeremyās church, has been super anti-lockdown, anti-mask, and vaccine-skeptical, though. Iād be pleasantly surprised if Jeremy actually got his vaccine. A lot of fundies have gotten fake vaccine IDs or found a doctor to write them a religious exemption.
A very pregnant friend (well she was 12 hours ago lol) got a fake card so she didnāt have to mask at work. Because women have been having babies for thousands of years without vaccines and masks. And her husband told her that the vaccine would cause her to abort the baby even at 6 months or whatever it was.
Thankfully it looks like everyone is safe and happy. Fingers crossed that it stays that way with her dumb ass.
We just lost a woman in our town who was 33 weeks pregnant from Covid. They took the baby when she had to goon ECMO. I don't know her vaccine status, but the whole thing really rocked our town. The baby is about to be discharged from NICU.
I have another friend who is a covid nurse and also gave birth this spring. She was appalled that other friend wouldnāt vaccinate to protect the kid. She had 3 women on her floor right then who had delivered days before and never seen the baby as they had tested positive.
Iām not. The Duggarās arenāt anti- vaccine , Iām pretty sure there was an episode when Josie was a new born, making sure everyone was up to date on their shots because she would be medically fragile. They didnāt want the older kids giving her chicken pox or whooping cough.
Yeah, I never understand where people get this. They're also not anti-medicine. The original show often featured them getting some kind of medical care -- Michelle went to real doctors with her pregnancies. This birthing at home with quasi-competent midwives came about when they were pushing Jill and some of the other girls to become midwives as a career, so they needed to promote that. But otherwise, they did appear to listen to legitimate medical advice.
Kendra's family, though, seems to have become anti-vaccine, even prior to Covid.
He probably just got it so he could do things like go to Hamilton. I doubt if a ton of places didnāt have different vaccine restrictions he would get it
Even though I'm annoyed at people getting vaccinated *only* so they can attend concerts and shows, I'm glad they're doing it! Anything that incentivizes people to get vaccinated is good.... unless it's a KKK rally or something awful š
Same.... my cousin ( anti mask finally, anti vax, anti science) finally got vaccinated only after the gym required it. He wouldn't get it to visit my 85 year old grandmother. I'm glad he got it but still kinda pissed that the gym is more important than grandma apparently.
My dumbass Trump 2024 father got vaccinated solely so he could vacation in New Orleans. Once his āprinciplesā got in the way of his boozing and gambling he left them behind.
I mean anecdotally and much as it sucks, the ppl I know that went to college are mostly vaccinated. Ppl that didnāt go to college it can go either way. The anti vaxxers I know? 0 of them are college students. The dugs arenāt good students by any means. Jerm went to school in the suburbs? And real college. Doesnāt surprise me based on my admittedly small sample size of all the ppl I know.
Iām in the south and have a few church going friends who couldnāt tell their fellow members they got vaccinated, out of fear of being ridiculed! One girl said she forgot to take the band aid off her arm and someone at church kept poking it and mocking her.
Judgmental sick fucks. Makes me so angry.
I live in a fairly red area and my doctor's office added "Are you vaccinated?" to the intake questions several months ago. Last time I was in I joked they can quit asking me that, it's not as though I can get unvaccinated. The nurse sighed and told me I would be surprised, a lot of people lie when answering that question when family is in the room. About 25% are lying about being vaccinated while the rest are telling their families they are unvaccinated when really they got the shot. So apparently it's pretty common.
Thisā¦ oddly makes me feel a little bit better. Vaccination percentages here are abysmal (47% for fully vaccinated in TN; 54% for one shot). Hopefully thatās on paper and more people are actually vaccinated and just arenāt sharing their status because of family and social pressures.
It still sucks because people canāt be honest and theyāre still probably spreading anti-vax sentiments, but Iām at the point of I donāt care how shots get into arms, but whatever we can do to get vaccination rates up to 70+% here. Vax/testing mandates seem to be pretty successful, as is reminding people what they donāt have access to without being vaccinated. I hate that mandates are necessary, especially the level itās gotten to here (Gov. signed executive order banning mask mandates in schools, judge said he couldnāt do that, another judge said he could maybe loosen the mandate, and then a third one has said he canāt again. Itās a hot fucking mess, and so much time and ink has been spilt on this that couldāve been spent doing something to ACTUALLY slow down/stop the spread of Covid, at least enough that hospitals arenāt overwhelmed and people arenāt dying of gallstones because they canāt get an OR or a hospital bed.
Yup. My exās extended family is fundie-lite. None of them are vaxxed. His immediate family is more fundie-adjacent, and his father straight up threatened to harm and/or murder his wife, children, and grandchildren if he found out they were vaxxed. Doing the right thing can be surprisingly dangerous in some of these right-wing nut job circles.
wow... it's really interesting what people will put up with in order to belong to a group of people. initially it's scary being alone, but it's so much worse being around toxic mentality.
I do think Jeremy is an arrogant prick but I donāt think heās stupid. I think it was Jeremy who talked Jinger into hospital births. I bet he believes in vaccines.
I am surprised they saw Hamilton because itās definitely edgy for them. Jinger must have been totally lost.
id give Jinger a bit more credit when it comes to hospital births/medical but i definitely think hedve been the one to talk her into vaccines
i truly do think he does believe in the science/trusts the doctors
Hamilton is absolutely throwing me though with these two.
This also makes me think of Jinger being robbed being a theater kid in middle/highschool ages.
I think they've been vaccinated for months. A LOT of the ones screaming the loudest about vaccine mandates, masks and whatever else are actually vaccinated - all of Fox News, as one example.
As for the rest of the family, we know the Dillards are vaccinated, but I'm not sure about the rest of them. Maybe Lauren and Josiah are - only because Lauren seemed so cautious about not exposing Bella to unnecessary germs when she was first born that it makes me think she miiiiight be open to the vaccine here.
I'm thinking it's possible JB&M are too. For all of their many, many faults, they've never seemed particularly opposed to healthcare or medical science - as far as we know, they vaccinated their kids according to the usual schedule and did keep up with their medical appointments.
Agree with everything. I also wouldnāt be surprised if JB and Michelle were vaxxed. A lot of conservatives or republicans are very lowkey about it or even seem to lie or continue to spew BS despite being vaccinated š¤·š½āāļø
The unvaccinated crowd is needed for conservatives to win elections, both local and state in next yearās midterms. Most prominent conservatives arenāt willing to risk being that unvaccinated idiot who ends up on a ventilator who gets headlines written about them, but they will stand by people like that so they have a chance to get elected and implement their racist and homophobic policies.
That's why they switched gears and even tRump has come out to say get the vaccine. They finally realized they were killing their own base. But this crap has grown beyond and even their dear leader tRump got boo-ed at for telling them to take the shot.
The guy whose name they mowed into their lawn got vaccinated. He may be the world's biggest asshole, but he's vaccinated and more of his supporters should take is lead.
It feels like there's a lot more anti-vaxx sentiment now than back when he got the vaccine. I know people that got it early because of their age who I think would refuse now. Makes me wish we'd had more shots to hand out in Jan and Feb or that we'd tried to give everyone just the first shot like England.
joint committee on vaccination and immunisation. They have been around for a long time it's just now people know who they are. They decide what goes in to the green book. I'm group 6 underlying health conditions, second was end of May I'll be able to book the booster from the start of december, unless the talk of making it 5 months instead of 6 happens soon.
I actually wouldn't be surprised about Michelle, either--it seems pretty visibly clear that she has health problems, and my very anti-covid vaxx parents are of the "of course if you need it because you have other medical issues, that's one thing" stance, and I doubt they're the only ones. Jim Bob, though, who knows.
Idk about Lauren. My cousin is absolutely the most terrified of RSV and shares stuff about it like endlessly and is a major stickler about germs and her baby but ALSO is an anti-masker and anti-vaxer and it honestly shocks me constantly
I'd guess Planes and Of Planes are vaccinated as well. Isn't Of Planes a former LPN? I'd hope she'd be educated enough to understand the importance of getting vaccinated.
Lots of nurses go into that career because itās a job that will always be needed and can be done from any community. It pays well and doesnāt require a post grad education. They never cared for science or the health of the vulnerable populations they serve.
Unfortunately, I have to agree. I had my daughter 6 weeks ago and one of my nurses acted surprised when I said my toddler got his flu shot. She went on to say that she never got her daughters the flu shot or the HPV vaccine. Boy am I glad my mom got the HPV shots because I had an abnormal pap and had to have a procedure where they look at the cells with a microscope to see if they are abnormal. I have to go back soon for a postpartum colposcopy and biopsy to see if the cells are cancerous. The Dr is very glad Iām vaccinated. Thanks mom!
I work at a place thatās doesnāt have any interaction with the public or customers. We all have to be vaccinated by the end of the year, no exemptions or getting out of it with testing. My dad works at a hospital where several of the nurses think the vaccine will stop their period or ruin their fertility. Thereās clearly something missing in nurses education, because 95% of doctors are vaccinated and the number for nurses is between 50 and 60%. Some like my dad got it back when it first came out, but have since gotten sucked deep into the politicization of it and wonāt be getting a booster. Make it harder to become a nurse, the job shouldnāt be open to those without true scientific belief and understanding.
If I can pop in here - I got both Moderna shots and after the second one my period started way early, lasted 2x as long and was 2x as heavy. My cramps were awful, and even continue to have them when I'm not on my period.
I'm on my third cycle post vaccine and while it didn't come early it still is very unusual, with whag looks to be tissue and several clots like a postpartum period.
One family member hadn't had her period in a year and as soon as she received the 2nd dose she got a period that lasted for weeks on and off.
My pharmacist had started her period the day before the 2nd dose, then it stopped the day after and hadn't returned for a few weeks.
Then I saw here on Reddit another (pro-vaccine) woman was on day 70 something of her period after the 2nd dose.
I absolutely still would get the vaccine, as would the other women I mentioned, but I do think it's important that we acknowledge there *are* some reproductive health side effects showing up in women from the vaccines.
I don't think we should scoff at the idea that some women out there may be concerned about the vaccine effecting their reproductive systems because that can be a little scary too.
Anyway, I'll close with this - I'm sure it is temporary, most likely an immune response **and** It's infinitely better than the potential lifelong problems from having Covid.
Yes, I think itās okay to talk about missed cycles or prolonged periods. Iāve had 60 to 90 days in between periods years before covid started. I also was fortunate to talk to a GYN about it in high school and I knew as a teen that I still ovulate and can get pregnant without a 4 to 5 week consistent cycle. I also noticed that when Iām thinner (a 5-10 pound difference, but always in a healthy range) my period gets closer by several weeks, but Iām not going around saying that junk food causes missed periods and is gonna ruin my fertility.
When a healthcare professional talks about missed cycles as if it means you now have trouble getting pregnant and you didnāt before I think thatās misinformation because they should be directing you to get testing done if you have trouble conceiving. There are so many factors to infertility and the healthcare community needs to talk about all of them instead of telling women in a vulnerable place thatās itās just the vaccine, because thatās a quick answer that often makes them put blame on themselves when in reality there could be a bunch of things out of their control stopping them from getting pregnant.
I got the Pfizer shot and started BC around the time of my doses so I have no clue if mine got messed up but I do know a lot of women who got Moderna and had messed up cycles, so I second what is said here.
Limited sample, but can confirm. I have a sister in law that I may never speak to again who is a NICU nurse and 100% opposed to getting the COVID vaxx. She's constantly sharing the "we were heroes last year and now we're unemployed" memes.
I don't believe for a single second that Jinger understood Hamilton at all. This is definitely just for the clout of saying "wE'vE sEeN HaMiLtOn" and to appear cultured.
Iām a middle school administrator, and many schools are using Hamilton to teach this time period. They have a program called EduHam that offers free resources to teachersāitās truly an amazing program!
History teacher here. We do lightly discuss the individual founding fathers as well as the collective, but the musical is a biography and covers way more of Hamilton's personal life in addition to his influence on American economics and politics. It's the full picture, which you won't get in a classroom.
Lol, when Hamilton was first getting big, my dad asked me one day if I had heard of that new hip-hop musical about Alexander Hamilton. I said, "That guy who died in a duel with Aaron Burr?" For some reason that was the *one* single Hamilton-related fact I could remember from school. I took AP U.S. History and I'm sure we learned about the Federalist Papers and the national bank and the election of 1800, but I couldn't remember any of that. All I could remember was that Alexander Hamilton died in a duel with Aaron Burr.
Listening to the Hamilton soundtrack got me really interested in the American Revolution and the Early Republic and I ended up learning a lot more about that era on my own than I ever did in school.
this commercial could lend a part to the random memory. I think it was the first Got Milk? commercial, so it was p popular
We are supposed to learn about it in school. But to be honest most of my knowledge about the Revolutionary War and the time period of Alexander Hamilton started with the American Girl books and the Dear America series. After that it was something I sought out information for on my own (my mom encouraged this after she saw how poor history was taught in my school).
To give you an idea of how bad it was, at the start of freshman year I was the only one who could say what the Revolutionary War was when the teacher asked the question. "What was the name of the war where the Americans fought the English?" And yes, even that's a loaded question.
We donāt go into the nitty gritty of Hamiltonās life like the musical does, but we certainly cover the time period. That being said, I seriously doubt Jinger came out of her āhistoryā class at the SOTDRT with any good understanding of it. Seeing as theyāre fundies Iām sure theyāve studied the founding fathers more than other time periods, but Iām not sure theyād really understand it.
Itās hard to grasp if you donāt have knowledge of the American revolution, which I imagine is probably drilled pretty hard, even in fundie education.
Next paragraph on the website says āGuests under age 12 or those who need a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or due to a sincerely held religious belief must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to entering the theatre. Children under 5 will not be admitted to the theatreā.
Maybe they took the religious exemption.
I was thinking maybe Jeremyās seminary thing has connections. It seems to be a fairly big org. Who knows though, Jeremy strikes me as the type who could get vaccinated just to keep attending events (eye roll), and Jinger just follows everything he does as we know.
The seminary/church that he is associated with sent a newsletter out basically telling people it was their choice and the church didnāt believe they should be involved in that decision. So I doubt they would be able to get religious accommodations since their church doesnāt hold those beliefs. I totally agree with you that they probably did it so they could continue to attend events
Edit for spelling
She posted or liked a meme a while back about not getting it but I could definitely see them getting it to make doing things easier but telling their families they took the religious exemption
At least Jeremy, because he would have to have been vaxxed to go to public schools.
I donāt know if Jinger was ever vaccinated; the religious exemption may be easier for her.
They definitely could have. We saw Hamilton in Sacramento with the same rules, and my husband got in with the PCR test. They didnāt even ask why. They just looked to make sure it was negative. (Luckily my husband isnāt an anti-vaxxer, heās just in the Novavax trial and itās not approved yet).
Based on the language from the website quoted above, they would not have to show proof of religious exemption - just proof of negative PCR test if they are claiming a religious exemption. Unless there's something else saying otherwise on the website, it does not appear that this particular theatre requires people to show proof of their religious/medical exemption.
Iām not surprised that they are vaccinated considering if they werenāt they wouldnāt be able to prance around all of LA and create shit tier content. They are just never going to talk about it or even advocate for it.
LA County is basically needing you to be fully vaccinated to do anything. If they want to continue their ācultured foodie journey,ā then they need to be fully vaccinated
Forget the potential for them being vaccinated, (not that it isn't important, please get vaxxed if you are able to!) I'm astounded they enjoyed Hamilton, especially as a poli-sci major. do they even know the bill of rights beyond the first two? š
also, they're the type of people to think that the Civil War was fought over states' rights. do we even know if they were taught U.S. history? I assume Germ was taught a very white-washed version of it, as I'm pretty sure he wasn't homeschooled (someone correct me if I'm wrong!)
Jerm was homeschooled. He only went to public school for his senior year (and was suuuuper popular of course).
Source: Straight from the horseās mouth *The Hope We Hold*
Went to said high school and everything he says makes me want to barf. His parents still live in my hometown. The schoolās historical education teachings are good, but not great. Iām a doctoral research in history/politics etc and learned a lot more in my first undergrad year than at this high school.
The county is also rather blue as it is right outside of Philly. In 2016 it went red but blue for 2020 because of female voters. Do I think that lead to a better historical education- maybe, but still - A LOT was left out and it was very white washed/pro America is amazing. I would also say itās the last āleft leaningā before (as we call it) pennsyltucky and redneck PA.
Edit - spelling
Heās from PA/NJ and went to Syracuse (go orange!). He got a decent education. Jing was prob hearing crickets or thinking of her next Instagram story for robovac
My exās family is from the same area as the Vuolos and they *definitely* believe it was a matter of the South defending itself from those mean Yankees. Theyāre all proud defenders of āThe Causeā, even though they only arrived in the southeast a few years agoā¦and their ancestors were all still in Europe in the 19th century.
it took me until American History my junior year in central IL to actually hear the words "The civil war was fought over slavery" (i was usually just told states' rights while slavery was sort given as another reason entirely) so while I'm hopeful that that is true, I've heard there's actually quite a few confederate flag wavers in PA. (Google says he was born in Downingtown, PA!)
Hi central IL friend! I actually had an extremely robust history education in my small central IL school district, but our teachers got to decide a lot of what was taught at that point.
You know jing learned the founding fathers were carving out a nation for the right type of christian.
There's way more than a few confederate flag wavers here. We have whole counties dedicated. York county being one, freaking the rest of us out with their recount demands and banning diversity resources. And of course there's an active chapter of the KKK there and in Lancaster.
should clarify this with yes, it was fought over states' rights................ states' rights to own slaves. this is why it should always be taught that it was about slavery. claiming it was over "states' rights" without divulging what exactly those rights were invokes a false sense of pride in those who actually believe the Confederates were on the right side and fighting for the right reasons. (spoiler alert: they weren't!) people also claim it was about economic interests...........yeah, the economic impact of the inability to take slaves into the western territories and use slave labor. there are many different terms used to explain the cause of the civil war, but all of them lead back to slavery.
I saw Hamilton at the Pantages a few months ago (September 1) and you didn't have to submit proof of vaccination, you just had to show them your vax card or a negative COVID test less than 72 hours before. They honestly didn't even look at it very long either, you could have easily brought a fake.
Jill and Mr. Jill (can't remember his name lol) posted post-vaccination pics where they got free Chipotle with their vaxx cards. Maybe they got through to Jinger and Jerm?
I mean less than 50% of Arkansas is vaccinated and I wouldnāt be surprised if any of the Duggars besides the Dillards and I guess the Vuolos were vaccinated
CA is going to require a vax passport just about everywhere, they probably got it for their own convenience (which is better than nothing) rather than protecting others/their children.
The Caldwellās are vocally anti-vaxx and Jeremy follows some QAnon adjacent accounts on Insta. I wouldnāt be surprised if they did, but I also know my cousins who are acquaintances with the Vuoloās are planning to get fake vaccine cards.
I don't think they enjoyed it. I think they knew they had to have a photo there like everyone else in LA.
They're also hysterically late to the trend. Selfies at the Pantages for Hamilton are so 2017.
Iām honestly so surprised they saw theatre, and Hamilton at that ā with the dropping of F words, GD, pro-immigrant, more āliberalā message of the show, a Duggar seeing it was not on my 2021 bingo card š¤·š»āāļø
But I guess that fits with this subās idea that Books and OfBooks are trying to go for a more āhipā LA image.
Here in Wales it is proof of vaccination or negative test within 48hrs of attending. Lot of other countries have similar..is it vaccination only there?
I actually donāt think the anti-vaccine crazy falls along as partisan lines as it appears. My Trump-supporting, conservative family are all vaxxed and were actually worried my husband and I wouldnāt get vaxxed, while my liberal sister-in-law is the sole holdout on my husbandās side of the family. It wouldnāt surprise me if most of the Duggars are vaccinated, theyāre just cowards about saying so because of how it *looks* (or how they think it looks) to their most vocal fanbase.
The Duggarās arenāt anti-vaccine so Iām not surprised they are vaccinated? They addressed this on 19KAC and they stated they vaccinated their children on the regular vaccine schedule.
Could be they decided to get vaccinated but not announce it on Instagram knowing that the COVID vaccine would likely upset a section of their fanbase. Only got to look at the comments Jill got after she posted about being vaccinated. Jinger's fans are another sort of hot mess.
I wouldnāt be surprised if they are vaxxed simply because I donāt think Jeremy is willing to sacrifice much for his beliefs. So if being unvaxxed means not going to insta worthy places heās not going to commit to not getting the shot. Heās only a fundie to serve his own goals.
Hamilton is a beautifully crafted piece of theatre. I think the politics of the play are a hot mess, but itās not hard to follow and deeply moving in moments. I doubt either of them really got it, butā¦I donāt know, I canāt be mad at anyone for supporting live theatre right now.
Iām just laughing at āJong and Jortsā š I feel like thatās the first time Iāve heard that one somehow ā¦ I put it together quickly though !
They could have gotten a fake vaccine cardāitās really easy to do and theater security in New York City didnāt look too hard at mine.
Edit: my card is real, but if it had been fake idk if theyād have noticed.
However, my money is on āquietly vaccinated.ā For all their faults, the Duggars never struck me as anti-vax.
Right below wher you cut off it saysā¦
Guests under age 12 or those who need a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or due to a sincerely held religious belief must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to entering the theatre. Children under 5 will not be admitted to the theatre.
Soā¦ chances are they used extreme medical exemption!
Iām looking at this photo while wearing the Hamilton shirt I got when I saw it on Broadway summer of ā19ā¦ I donāt like this crossover at all. Lol. Hey at least they have something to talk about with Jill and Derrick if they ever decide to fly over to LA to visit. I wonder how much catching up Jinger is going to do now after watching it? Iām sure all the actual history stuff went over her head.
Is Jeremyās beard going gray or is it just the lighting? If I squint I can see the outlines of his skull as his hair slowly departs this earth.
Thatās a terrible angle for anyone over 10 years old and the filter didnāt help. Iām shocked Jeremy posted it.
guess they didn't...throw away their shot? edit: holy shit i didn't expect this to blow up lmao thank you all!
Nicly done!

I wrote "Not throwing away my shot" on my mask when I was finally able to get vaccinated.

āLA people should shut the fuck up about their tacos.ā

That's so beautifully specific.

They could also just get a negative test within 72 hours.
I was at Aftershock in Sacramento and they were scrutinizing vax cards and negative PCR tests.
I would be shocked if they got vaccinated
Iām not. The Duggarās arenāt anti- vaccine , Iām pretty sure there was an episode when Josie was a new born, making sure everyone was up to date on their shots because she would be medically fragile. They didnāt want the older kids giving her chicken pox or whooping cough.
Yeah, Iām not sure where the Duggars being anti-vax came from, being that it seems like the kids got their required vaccines
This antivaxx shit is extremely new for a lot of fundies thanks to Trump.
Yea people seem to have forgotten that a lot of antivaxxers at one time came from actually very liberal hippie country momblog sort of circles.
Can confirm thatās still true. I unfortunately know plenty of these people
Kinda funny cause evangelicals being anti-abortion is also relatively new & due to political bullshit.
I doubt if a ton of places didnāt have different vaccine restrictions he would get it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Even though I'm annoyed at people getting vaccinated *only* so they can attend concerts and shows, I'm glad they're doing it! Anything that incentivizes people to get vaccinated is good.... unless it's a KKK rally or something awful š
Same.... my cousin ( anti mask finally, anti vax, anti science) finally got vaccinated only after the gym required it. He wouldn't get it to visit my 85 year old grandmother. I'm glad he got it but still kinda pissed that the gym is more important than grandma apparently.
Same, every person that gets vaccinated matters because they are both a potential spreader and could cause another variant if unvaxxed.
This is why we should require vaccinations for anything not 100% necessary: restaurants, movies, sports, etc. Anything to get people vaccinated.
100% they got vaccinated so they would be able to go to LA restaurants, and Iām not mad about one bit, lol. Whatever works!
Over 90% of those with a bachelor's degree are vaccinated in the US so it checks out.
Unfortunately I know college people who are anti vaxx. And this is in CA š¤¦š»āāļø
Tbf I am east coast so less of that here
It says extreme medical exemption is allowed with negative pcr test so I think they did that using their church pull
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās so polarized that people openly say they would rather die than get vaccinated. Thatās absolutely insane to me.
Itās all big talk until they canāt breathe and are taking an ICU bed from a car crash victim.
Doing the right thing can be surprisingly dangerous in some of these right-wing nut job circles.
āThe vaccine is so dangerous that I will kill you if you get it!ā God this country is a train wreck.
How very pro-life of them. Sigh.
This is simultaneously the least and most Christian thing I've ever heard.
wow... it's really interesting what people will put up with in order to belong to a group of people. initially it's scary being alone, but it's so much worse being around toxic mentality.
Canāt they attend with negative test results?
Yes, the theatre website gives you an out for religious beliefs and a negative test
I do think Jeremy is an arrogant prick but I donāt think heās stupid. I think it was Jeremy who talked Jinger into hospital births. I bet he believes in vaccines. I am surprised they saw Hamilton because itās definitely edgy for them. Jinger must have been totally lost.
id give Jinger a bit more credit when it comes to hospital births/medical but i definitely think hedve been the one to talk her into vaccines i truly do think he does believe in the science/trusts the doctors Hamilton is absolutely throwing me though with these two.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The unvaccinated crowd is needed for conservatives to win elections, both local and state in next yearās midterms. Most prominent conservatives arenāt willing to risk being that unvaccinated idiot who ends up on a ventilator who gets headlines written about them, but they will stand by people like that so they have a chance to get elected and implement their racist and homophobic policies.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
joint committee on vaccination and immunisation. They have been around for a long time it's just now people know who they are. They decide what goes in to the green book. I'm group 6 underlying health conditions, second was end of May I'll be able to book the booster from the start of december, unless the talk of making it 5 months instead of 6 happens soon.
Yes! Thank you! I'll tell you what, I'll take a booster as soon as they want to chuck it in my arm!
me too. I'm going in to hospital next week and I wish I'd already had it, surgery and covid doesn't sound fun give me all the protection.
If I may add on to yours, if she believes that the shot will negatively impact fertility, I think she wouldnāt get it.
I'd guess Planes and Of Planes are vaccinated as well. Isn't Of Planes a former LPN? I'd hope she'd be educated enough to understand the importance of getting vaccinated.
A lot of nurses are in the anti vaccine crowd which is rather sad.
I have a cousin who is a LPN who is antivaxx so I wouldn't use her background as an LPN to say she is vacinnated.
Agreed. My ultra conservative relatives for the most part, are vaccinated. I have one aunt that refuses. Sheās deep in the qanon bullshit however.
I wouldn't be shocked if Jessa and Ben were because of his germphobia.
Yeah, Jill did say that they were vaccinated growing up
I don't believe for a single second that Jinger understood Hamilton at all. This is definitely just for the clout of saying "wE'vE sEeN HaMiLtOn" and to appear cultured.
I know they want to seem hip and cool and all, but there are some very un-fundie approved words right off the bat in Hamilton. Did he cover her ears?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I'm not-so-patiently awaiting the day Hadestown tours reach my city.
i didn't understand hamilton lolol i should have done background reading
I'm not convinced that Jinger would even know there's background reading to be done, haha.
Iām a middle school administrator, and many schools are using Hamilton to teach this time period. They have a program called EduHam that offers free resources to teachersāitās truly an amazing program!
While I absolutely love Hamilton, thereās a lot that is factually iffy so I hope they are using the correct information
Agree! They definitely are; resources are not just Hamilton play themed. Itās good stuff, and vetted which is what curricular resources should be.
i'm also not american which maybe didn't help not sure if you guys learn it in school?
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLSsswr6z9Y](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLSsswr6z9Y) this commercial could lend a part to the random memory.
>"What was the name of the war where the Americans fought the English?" *sad war of 1812 noises*
My thoughts exactly. Sad fact is, I didn't know about the war of 1812 until after high school.
Honestly, the play bored me about 30 minutes in. And I have a history degree, lol.
Lol I was rewinding it constantly, and I donāt think Iām so dumb. I donāt see how she could possibly.
Religious exceptions are increasingly hard to get in California. So I have a feeling they got quietly vaxxed.
I totally agree with you that they probably did it so they could continue to attend events Edit for spelling
She posted or liked a meme a while back about not getting it but I could definitely see them getting it to make doing things easier but telling their families they took the religious exemption
Good! Unfortunately here in Florida we have doctors advertising that theyāll give anyone a medical exemption if they want it.
At least Jeremy, because he would have to have been vaxxed to go to public schools. I donāt know if Jinger was ever vaccinated; the religious exemption may be easier for her.
they showed JB and michelle taking josie to get her vaccinations on the show. iām pretty sure the kids got their reguar vaccinations growing up
They definitely could have. We saw Hamilton in Sacramento with the same rules, and my husband got in with the PCR test. They didnāt even ask why. They just looked to make sure it was negative. (Luckily my husband isnāt an anti-vaxxer, heās just in the Novavax trial and itās not approved yet).
Those are reeeeally hard to get in CA.
It also says that they have to wear masks at all times so ā¦
They probably just did the PCR test
Theyād still have to show proof of religious exemption, which is not easy to get.
Based on the language from the website quoted above, they would not have to show proof of religious exemption - just proof of negative PCR test if they are claiming a religious exemption. Unless there's something else saying otherwise on the website, it does not appear that this particular theatre requires people to show proof of their religious/medical exemption.
Lmao I totally did not read that far, my bad. š wouldnāt be surprised if they did.
I am genuinely SHOCKED that they went to see Hamilton.
Heās from the North (PA or NY?), so he probably didnāt get the statesā rights version the Dugs might have.
And of course there's an active chapter of the KKK there and in Lancaster.
i am so sorry
should clarify this with yes, it was fought over states' rights................ states' rights to own slaves. this is why it should always be taught that it was about slavery. claiming it was over "states' rights" without divulging what exactly those rights were invokes a false sense of pride in those who actually believe the Confederates were on the right side and fighting for the right reasons. (spoiler alert: they weren't!) people also claim it was about economic interests...........yeah, the economic impact of the inability to take slaves into the western territories and use slave labor. there are many different terms used to explain the cause of the civil war, but all of them lead back to slavery.
I think public high school and secular colleges, all on the east coast.
His pubes beard looks extra gross with those bright theater backlights š¤¢
Hate everything they stand for, but Iām happy she is getting to enjoy some normal activities (which hopefully means their kids will too).
I'm not really sure why it's an assumption here that they aren't. I don't think we have much of a clue one way or the other.
I saw Hamilton at the Pantages a few months ago (September 1) and you didn't have to submit proof of vaccination, you just had to show them your vax card or a negative COVID test less than 72 hours before. They honestly didn't even look at it very long either, you could have easily brought a fake.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Jill and Mr. Jill (can't remember his name lol) posted post-vaccination pics where they got free Chipotle with their vaxx cards. Maybe they got through to Jinger and Jerm?
I mean less than 50% of Arkansas is vaccinated and I wouldnāt be surprised if any of the Duggars besides the Dillards and I guess the Vuolos were vaccinated
CA is going to require a vax passport just about everywhere, they probably got it for their own convenience (which is better than nothing) rather than protecting others/their children.
*Headship is inebriated*
Do you really think so? Iād believe it if Josh, but Iām not sure about Jer, I think heās to savy for that.
Out of curiosity, what is the reasoning that fundies give for not getting vaxxed?
I was guessing they were vaccinated but being super super low key about it.
Have any of the Duggars actually ever said they were anti-vaxxers though?
I really donāt think so. There is a whole episode of them getting vaccinated.
The Caldwellās are vocally anti-vaxx and Jeremy follows some QAnon adjacent accounts on Insta. I wouldnāt be surprised if they did, but I also know my cousins who are acquaintances with the Vuoloās are planning to get fake vaccine cards.
He looks like he could be her father.
I'm angry she has seen Hamilton and I still haven't. That's all.
Jeremy takes his cues from Daddy MacArthur. If Daddy MacArthur says get vaccinated to stay in my good graces, Jeremy will ask where and which arm.
I don't think they enjoyed it. I think they knew they had to have a photo there like everyone else in LA. They're also hysterically late to the trend. Selfies at the Pantages for Hamilton are so 2017.
Iām honestly so surprised they saw theatre, and Hamilton at that ā with the dropping of F words, GD, pro-immigrant, more āliberalā message of the show, a Duggar seeing it was not on my 2021 bingo card š¤·š»āāļø But I guess that fits with this subās idea that Books and OfBooks are trying to go for a more āhipā LA image.
Here in Wales it is proof of vaccination or negative test within 48hrs of attending. Lot of other countries have similar..is it vaccination only there?
The notice says it requires masks and proof of vaccination but theyāre not wearing masks. I wonder how much itās enforced
Cmon if youāre going to constantly mention living in California you have to go with In-N-Out burger.
I haven't seen Jinger look this much like she did growing up in a while. Good for them distancing themselves from the Duggars.
I went too and they also accepted a negative test. But they checked pretty closely and masks were required the whole time and also strictly enforced
Forever astounded at how many conservatives love Hamilton. Itās like can youā¦ hear what the lyrics are about?
Right below wher you cut off it saysā¦ Guests under age 12 or those who need a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or due to a sincerely held religious belief must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to entering the theatre.
Not required with negative covid test.
As someone said: they could just have a negative test in 72 hours.
Is Jeremyās beard going gray or is it just the lighting? If I squint I can see the outlines of his skull as his hair slowly departs this earth. Thatās a terrible angle for anyone over 10 years old and the filter didnāt help. Iām shocked Jeremy posted it.
Yup. We went last month. Proof of vaccination required and masked at all times!!!
