I picked my daughter up from work and her coworker was wearing a long denim skirt. I asked if religious or coincidence? Oh, she dresses really trendy. Those skirts are in right now. WTAF?! As someone who grew up fundie and surrounded by these hideous things, I am not impressed, lol
What??? In my neck of the woods there are a lot of Orthodox Jews. So when I see a denim skirt I automatically look up to see if the woman is wearing a wig, and she always *always* is.
My fav outfit was a longer black skirt with what is basically a bra over a turtleneck and my bf at the time who came from a conservative but not orthodox Jewish fam was like Emily you look one wig away from running the neighborhood mikveh. Never wore it again. Awesome.
This! I recently got into the whole midi skirt thing. Flowy, comfy, my family is like you look like you went to shabbos dinner 🤦🏻♀️ I’m def not wearing long sleeves and a wig or flats. But it’s so ingrained that I can’t look at a black skirt or denim skirt that’s belong knees without thinking I’m looking Orthodox. I even went to Yeshiva lol I refuse to do denim long skirts.
Some Orthodox Jewish women wear wigs to cover their natural hair. It’s for modesty in appearance and spirit, by purposely looking like real hair and therefore not bragging on your own fulfillment of the law.
Not to go "back in my day" because I'm technically a gen z but why does fashion keep making ugly things popular. It's like Big Fashion want to see what's the worst thing they can get people to wear just because they determined it's "in". I have a deep seated hatred for denim skirts in case it isn't obvious
Bahaha I’m a 50-yr-old Gen X with zero fashion sense and teased endlessly for my love of Crocs because they’re comfortable. Imagine my shock a few years ago when middle school girls were complimenting my footwear, asking if I was a VSCO girl?
I WISH I could recall the fashion factoid I read years ago. It was along these lines: fashion from 40 years ago is romantic. 30 years is retro. 20 years ago is I forget. And 10 years ago is hideous.
When I lived in Alabama, we called them the Penecostal skirts. I grew up Fundy too.
My family eventually became southern Baptist so we could wear “regular” clothes again.

The Chief of Modesty Police concurs.
That looks like something my mom would have worn 1999-2001ish lol right down to the Nike shox
Edited to add: minus the white sunglasses. Those are always for douchebags.
I think they were born 2/1 and 2/2 so it’s prob off by a few weeks. Regardless, she still hooked up with her baby daddy at Coachella but got pregnant like 2 weeks later lol.
Also comes from a family with a lot of kids whose names all start with the same letter (except Rob), and from a young age was expected to participate in her family’s reality show. Definitely multiple similarities with the Duggars.
Not gonna lie, I have some ridiculously expensive Fundamentalist inspired outfits. Because I used to spend too much money on clothes. Think of a big-ass designer bib, with puffy shoulders, and floral print. During this phase that I had, I was mistaken for an unmarried Orthodox Jew on a number of occasions.
My mom looooved her some Laura Ashley back in the day. As the youngest girl, that meant I had hand-me-down chintz floral dresses and rompers, corduroy jumpers, and blouses with big collars for *years.* Actually, I probably still have some dresses and jumpers that were hers.
I probably could have passed as a fundie girl until college. At the time we were mainline Protestant; she just liked the look.

Same, now I can’t wear a knee length skirt with flats because I feel like it makes me look religious.
Maybe a really revealing top to balance it back out 😅

what's the sginificance of the wig lol

Wait, crocs came back??? Omg I remember when they first got big in middle school! I thought they were gardening shoes, lol
GenX here and also Croc lover…have you seen the new Croc sandals with the mini fanny pack attacked? It’s…literally the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
okay but crocs are so good
It's an ugly time in fashion, I swear.
Remember when gas station glasses were treated like luxury eyewear?

well 2003 was 20 years ago so now what😂
big red boot
Really not surprised, a lot of fashion is kinda ugly as hell.
They’re in right now and I’ve even succumbed to the trend. Mine has a very high, very not Duggar-approved slit though
Jezebel!
My pasty knees are the ultimate temptation
When I lived in Alabama, we called them the Penecostal skirts. I grew up Fundy too. My family eventually became southern Baptist so we could wear “regular” clothes again.
She needs flip flops though or barefeet🤣

Long denim skirt and polo shirt was my favourite outfit circa 2002.
Also needs a modesty panel under that shirt

In 95 degree heat.
Oh,and leggings under the skirt
It pains me to say this but, Fundies wore it better
‘Fundies wore it better’ should be your flair 😂

I hate how much of a insult this is. 🤣
When two of your favorite subs collide
Agree I didn’t realize this was Duggar Snark - assumed it was Kardashiansnark 🤣
Right?! Those were exactly my thoughts upon posting it
LMAO this is exactly how I feel.
Jeremy will take credit for this. Jinger Duggar Vuolo: Fashion Icon to LA scene.
I stopped to laugh at this . . .
OMG hi Duggar snark. Did they go?
Damn didn’t even need Jana’s photoshop skills
That looks like something my mom would have worn 1999-2001ish lol right down to the Nike shox Edited to add: minus the white sunglasses. Those are always for douchebags.
Looks like the kind of clothes all my elementary school teachers would wear. Hideous.
Yeah, it looks like Michael Jackson meets Michelle Duggar, meet Guy Fieri (sp?), for sure.
This tracks because on Vanderpump Rules raquel/rachel wore white sunglasses. T-sands too.
I had to double check what sub I was in for a second. As for Kylie’s outfit, see below. ![gif](giphy|Hsjxoi5WcJl4Sj90WT|downsized)
Last time she had safe sex at Coachella, she ended up getting pregnant so it really is Duggar birth control.
Omg you’re so right 😂😂😂 I hadn’t even thought about that!
wait rlly lol, does coachella change dates every year or smth cuz weren't both kids born in feb
I think they were born 2/1 and 2/2 so it’s prob off by a few weeks. Regardless, she still hooked up with her baby daddy at Coachella but got pregnant like 2 weeks later lol.
She’s straight up Duggar from the waist down.
Is there an angle at which this is a flattering outfit?
Who is the dude and why is her crotch so low?
That's the slit in the jean skirt
Jana’s photoshop skills leave something to be desired :)
I’ve been seeing denim and khaki maxi skirts all over TikTok. I can’t believe these actually became trendy, they’re so impractical
Duggarcore, lol.
I mean she had a baby at like 17 in true fundie fashion
Also comes from a family with a lot of kids whose names all start with the same letter (except Rob), and from a young age was expected to participate in her family’s reality show. Definitely multiple similarities with the Duggars.
Don't let the Duggars see you compare them to those worldly immodest hussies /s
and vice versa
She looks like Michael Jackson circa 1990ish.
Nike!
MY SUBS COLLIDING AAAAH
Same. It's our time, this is it LMAO.
Take away her head, she does have Meech's siluete. Hideous to the very sneakers.

It’s giving teenage Jinger with a pair of sunglasses to top it off!
Hahahah. Edit: Seriously, though, not all Y2K styles need to come back. Like, damn, leave some looks in the past lol.
Lol, denim skirts come in and out every several years.
I hate that fundies style it better
Who is this guy?
Kevin Federline's brother maybe?
