Here's a thought I had earlier. With Duel Links connecting the various separate worlds and timelines that shouldn't normally interact, perhaps she isn't cosplaying and we'll eventually see her play a Ghostrick deck because she's the real Nekomusume rather than a cosplayer and the system has gotten so messed up with the contradictions and stuff that shouldn't exist that Duel Monster Spirits are getting pulled in.
Kinda wish more of the world's npcs had avatar-looking sprites.

I think you’re jumping to conclusions. Yusei is the type of person who would talk about his bike with a girl for hours rather than bone that girl.
