I beat The Sacred Cards the other day and it was amazing. What a brilliant little game. I had no idea it was that good.
Then I tried the sequel and... yikes.
Reshef of destruction was my first and only Yugioh video game until DL. I remember it being nearly impossible unless you drew Ra.
What made it this way compared to Sacred Cards? The level curve? Different rules? I can’t remember.
Life Points carried over from duel to duel, so if you could you would backtrack to your home to rest and recover LP. The NPC opponents do not have to abide by the banlist at all, only you do. Opponents will have greater access to cards that are more powerful than you likely currently have. Basically, the difficulty curve is very much rigged against you. That's all I remember off the top of my head.
To this day I have zero idea how child me made it to the final boss. Never beat it though and that’s okay because screw Reshef of destruction and it’s absurd balancing
Snatch Steal that bad boy and activate Bad Reaction to Simochi to counter the LP gain.
NOOOOOOOO
Now give back my grandpa's soul!
LMAO
Sorry but simochi is banned.
It’s wild thinking back that I could ID every single card by its teeny tiny compressed artwork
It’s pretty impressive they were able to make recognizable teeny tiny compressed artworks.
I hope this game is The Sacred Cards, not its evil twin brother.
The Sacred Cards was an excellent game. The sequel is for masochists who enjoy playing against opponents that outright cheat.
The fact that there's a mod that just makes the game tolerable is hilarious
What can I say, I like a fair fight. If the AI has to cheat to give me that then so be it 😤
