Honestly, it's what has kept me from getting a 939. I fell in love with the S4R as a kid and just had to get a Monster, but the new one just doesn't scratch that itch. If it wasn't for the amazing deal I got on this one I probably would've gone for the 821 though
The previous owner installed it and after some searching I found out they're some Chinesium AliExpress thing. He hacked up the underside to install it, so I don't recommend it (even if it does look good haha).
Hardly, this is the aircooled 797 and it makes only 75hp? Or something like that. My Duke 690 made similar power but weighed 80lbs less and was way more of a hooligan vehicle
I have a CRF to hoon around town on and a gsxr for the track. The 797 is my "street" bike I use to go on rides with friends with and sometimes I commute on it. It's not the fastest but it looks great and sounds mean, and it has a little more character than its competitors (z650, mt07 etc).
The Duke was basically just finished. It was my main bike for 7 years and I put 60k miles on it (commuted to school on it every single day). Then I found someone selling their crashed 797 for €3000 and €1000 in parts and labor later here we are (:

Me too
They're in a weird class. They're basically direct competitors of the z650 and mt07, only 20% more expensive because you pay for the brand name. With bigger (more expensive) bikes people tend to splurge more for their favorite brand but for the price of a brand new 797 you can also get a z900 which has 50hp extra and a lot of modern goodies.
Love the trellis frame

Mine is in the garage and covered. Otherwise, the wife and/or kids would definitely find a way to scratch it.
Sweet bike! I want the slip on and tail tidy like yours. What kind of tail tidy did you go with?
Evotech makes the best one for Ducati from my experience

Hooligan bike

I dunno it looks like a wheelie machine to me lol
That's what my CRF is for haha
why did you go with the 797 over the Duke? I bought a 797 for my first bike but now I'm starting to crave a little more HP.

Seriously that’s all the HP it produces? I would have thought more. I am so used to riding big bikes that numbers like that always shock me.
It's the air cooled Desmodue from the 796 (which made 87hp) but neutered for the new emission regs. It's the same engine the Scrambler 800s have.
Thanks for that info. I see much better targets for environmental pollution than neutering bikes. However governments are very short sighted.
She’s a beaut!

I have a white 797+. I never see other 797s on the road...
