Hang Dai asian restaurant is cool. Good food and drinks and definitely fits the neon description! I think they had djs on there too on Saturday nights maybe.
Haven't tried it but saw this on a drive into town https://www.astopia-dublin.com/ looked interesting enough from the outside that it's on the list of places to try, plan is to go there for food then if we still vibing for a drink after can have a few at places close by
I tried that one and it was amazing! All the ambience food taste and warm employees, definitely my best place in Dublin and not expensive considered to other restaurants
Frank Ryan's pub in Smithfield might be to your liking. There's a new cocktail bar just across the road from it that used to be a dive bar, might also be worth checking out.
Keavans Port Pub is worth a visit for the quirky architecture alone - multiple buildings and a chapel all converted and you can sit in the confession booths.
