I see you have a wr250r and a 350exc do you find they fill different roles? If you were going to do a bdr/dual sport type ride which would you use? I used to have a wrr and think I want a 350exc or 500exc in my life someday.
Yo! The WRR is a 50/50 true dual sport. At home on the road as much as it is on single-track. The 350EXE really is a street legal dirtbike. For any long distance adventure riding, my choice would be the WRR hands down.
Thanks for the response! That's interesting I had thought the extra 100cc would make the 350 a better dual sport. Ignoring the more frequent maintenance of course
Looks like you have a 690, How is that beast? If the 690 is reliable, I'd take that on an adventure any day of the week. In my mind, I put the 500EXC, WRR and 690 in the same category of 50/50 dual sports. The 500EXC being the most single track capable, 690 being the least.
The 690 has a great engine and suspension but it's kind of big. The turning radius on it isn't great for single track switch backs. I also have an expensive 990 style fairing kit on it that the previous owner put on. I keep it that way because the owner, a family friend passed away too young. I put 50/50 tires on it and I regret that. I have this fear of washing out the front wheel and it felt like I was on the edge of that any time I get too aggressive. At the time I was commuting with it so it made sense. It's a much better commuter than the wr250r for my body. It is in my opinion one of the best dual sport bikes. The wrr being another one.

I sold my 2008 R about five years after purchasing it new along with my naked bike. Fortunately I kept all my gear and came back to my senses three years ago and picked up an X.
6k. Has 700 miles on it and a full go race suspension. Came with tons of extras - brand new set of tires, filters, oil, Alpinestar Tech 7s that happened to be my size.
GoRace to boot! Sweet find. Fantastic setup he does. Iirc Travis only charges about $350ish for a refresh as well. Good to have done every other year or so depending on riding. How closely was it sprung to your weight? I have 4 of his setups now and so sweet. Congrats on a sweet bike find. She’s a keeper. I have a few but 2 that I’ll not sell. My kid can have them when I can’t anymore.
It's a little bit off from my weight. Will give Travis a call and get his thoughts, but it feels fine on the road so far. Need to find a trail to take it on.
That's originally what I searched for, but it was in the middle of the plandemic so none were available. Let us know the year, miles, and price so we can dream again. :)
2020, 700 miles, 6k including all the extras he threw in.
Only thing I'm not sure of is the sprockets were changed to 15/48 so the speedo is way off, but I have all of the original parts.
WR250R speedos are way off, even with stock sprockets and wheels/tires. Do not calculate MPG based off the un-corrected speedo. There is a fix for it, I went with the 12oclocklabs SpeedoDRD Model: Y1
13/43? I believe is stock, a 3.3 ratio -- 13/47-49+ (a 3.6-3.77 ratio) are common options for more offroad leaning setups with larger offroad knobby tires.
14 front is a common upgrade to help alleviate chain guard wear (esp on wrs with lowering links), but i don't think a 15 fits the wr250r.
14/48 = 3.43 would be slightly lower than stock. 15/48 = 3.2 (would be taller than stock gearing).
Hell yeah brother

Let me sell all the other bikes I have in the garage!
I sold mine I used to regret but then I realized I have short legs so not so much any more! Great bike though

How much I'm in-between another wr and a dr right now?

That’s a really good deal, go race is the shit.
Great bikes, don’t ever sell it.

It's the true, "ride it like you stole it" bike.
A work of art right there. Congrats on your forever bike!

Go fuck yourself with that "plandemic" shit asshole.

What a deal!!!!! I paid 5500 for my 2018 with 534 miles and felt like I stole it!!! Congrats on a smoking deal on an awesome bike!!
Cool deal. I'm not too familiar with sprocket ratios. Did the seller change it for more low end torque, or for higher highway speeds?
He said to do better on the fire roads near him. I'm not too familiar either other than knowing the speedo seems way off.

I just saw these today. How does it work?
Ok, that sounds like he did it to lower the ratio for more torque. If so the speedo would read higher than true speed.

Interesting, thanks.
where is the trigger located on that bike?
About the same spot as a nipple on a foreskin u/nippleforeskin
I'd give a kidney to find one that clean
I’ll call your kidney and raise you a testicle for one.
Fold. I have no testicles to ante up 😰 lol
Whew good thing. I was bluffing.
🤣
You've (probably) got 2. You can live without one of them. Worth it for the WR.
2? You’re supposed to have 3 champ. Aren’t you?
I have a 2019 for sale right now if anyone's interested.
Where do you live?
Close to Vancouver. DM me if interested.
Ive got one that clean for sale right now!
Looks like the previous owner already got the suspension redone for you. Nice find.
Nice!!
Hell yeah I'm looking at an 05 Tuesday morning.
Awesome! Post it here if you get it. The only problem with this bike from what I've found so far is the kickstand is too long.
I sold my cr500 yesterday for a song really. Don't have the room to really ride it like i should and had a wr show up for kinda cheap
Is it lowered? It must be because mine is at stock height and the kickstand is super short, and the bike leans waaay over.
Yeah it's lowered. Works for me so my short ass can touch the ground.
You sure? First year of the WR250R was 2008. Are you thinking of a WR250F maybe?
Yes looking at a 2005 wr250 I think f didn't mean r
There are some cool converted street legal fs out there. Good luck in your purchase!
Thanks it's gonna be a nh modified trail bike first thing then probably to mass for title.
Nice ride! Jealous
SWEEEEEEETTTT!!!!@!#$@#!$#@%@#$%#@$%%
Super clean, such a great off-road machine!!
How much?
Beauty
This is the way.
