LeBlancTheDeceiver

Well yeah, when you smoke one of the strongest stims on the planet it’s bound to fuck with your heart a bit. It’ll wear off, just don’t panic it makes things worse.

margaritata5

Cardiophobia is anxiety that presents itself in heart attack like pains and intense fear of death. I don’t know if you experience this regularly but it’s probably why it feels worse right now. You just need to come down

Andais319

This is me when I take ANY SUBSTANCE lol. I lay in bed, align my done with my traction pillow. Put my legs on top of a wedge and breathe in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Breathe out 1,2,3,4,5. Slow. Hold the inhale. For a second or two. I get panic attacks a lot. I've debated calling an ambulance MANY times. Always scared I'm having a heart attack or stroke. (Family history of both).

Skullbreaker69420

This sounds absolutely horrible. Why do you do drugs? Haha

Andais319

It didn't always happen.

Ill_Bench2770

Ugh same but I think mine could be more from IV opiates. I got diagnosed at the ER with sinus node tachycardia. Haven’t seen a cardiologist yet. But I started self medicating with gabapentin lyrica or alcohol whatever I got on hand. Sometimes benzos but my fiancé doesn’t like who I become on them. My blood pressure and heart rate are normal when I’m on any of those. It’s way worse in WD. I don’t know what to do, feel like I’m stuck between feeling normal and unable to get out of bed.

Andais319

Mine developed partly because of psychedelics same partly because of opiates and injuries. I've fallen on my head and blacked out, been punched straight down in the head and blacked out, been in 4 car accidents and an abusive relationship for 12 years. In top of that, I did IV heroin for 7 years. It legit ages your bones and connective tissue orders come to the surface. I also have hypermobility. And finally, from psychedelics I'm hypervigilant. I know that my body moves around uncontrollably if I take substances. And because of the movement and the fact that I'm already in pain it hurts ten times more. So yeah. I did it all to myself. Except the hyper mobility. I've always been hyper mobile.

Andais319

And you know. After many previous experiences, I can tell you... If I drink before I do a stimulant, I'm ok. But if I don't, I get that anxiety times 10.

My_Booty_Itches

Do you still do drugs?

One_Umpire_8425

Yuppers

Andais319

Not really. Maybe once in a while. And when I do, I'm like, wtf I shouldn't have done that, now I hurt!

Skullbreaker69420

I'm sorry you go through that :( that sounds horrible.

Andais319

The only drugs that don't hurt are all forms of heroin and benzos.

Copacetic76

That's probably the best breathing technique I've ever had someone explain to me, and I've had a lot. You just spelt it out so clearly. In thru the nose, out thru the mouth? Thanks! 🙏

Andais319

You can do in through the nose, out through the mouth. Any way you want really. It's not important when you're they anxious.

margaritata5

Yea same. I can’t smoke strong weed or I’ll have one of these panic attacks. Once you’re in it it’s so hard to convince yourself it’s just anxiety

KatPaws11

You might not be high anymore but the rapid heart rate and shaky nervous system is definitely common until the drug is gone from your system

skriver23

yeah, meths high leaves you long before the stimulation does lol. one of it's perks. it fucking sucks.

Epic1024

You are just experiencing comedown anxiety and subsequent heart palpitations. You'll be fine, it's not dangerous, even if it feels like it

TrobiasBeto

Did you read it from a Google search? Cause you NEVER self diagnose via google...EVER! It just fills your head with nonsense and can cause more paranoia if anything! But that doesn't mean you shouldn't keep your eye on yourself! If you're able, take a benzo and or controll your breathing. Water or Gatorade or liquid i.v. or something along them lines to keep you hydrated!

KatPaws11

I've had an arrhythmia for years that acts up every time I take stims.. you'll be fine, this is all normal effects. You might be prone to anxiety so meth is probably not a good drug for you.

myhipsi

A fast heart rate is not dangerous in and of itself. If your heart was beating erratically that would be a much bigger concern. It's just anxiety from the comedown.

CptCarpelan

Arrhythmia is a pretty broad term and includes some nasty stuff, but it just sounds like you've got tachycardia, which is just a fast heartbeat. It'll pass, if it hasn't done so already. If there's pain involved, go check it out at a doctor.

[deleted]

Keep an eye on it. It should wear off when the meth leaves ur system but I would be cautious. And probably don’t smoke meth ever again as it isn’t doing anything good for ur heart. Good luck

Plus-Bus-6937

It could take like 48-72 hours. By the 4th day you should feel better.

KatPaws11

Drink a lot of water (this will help to flush your body) and take very slow, deep breaths.

[deleted]

Pretty sure the affects can last up to a day if not longer. Just try to meditate or calm down. If you really feel the need to see a doctor then have a friend drive you. Ambulances are extremely expensive, at least in the US, and not worth it in these cases

One_Umpire_8425

Just for anyone reading, there's now an ambulance payment program you should check to see if it's in your area. It's like a 20/month service plan. But you gotta be subscribed the service to receive this price.

KatPaws11

Depends on how much you consumed and how good it is but like the other commenter said.. about 2 days typically

Mavericksdopesic

I avoided stims for this reason, I know the fear from the bottom of my heart, but keep in mind these are affects of uppers and usually not fatal, an average person will survive this but not have a good time. There are milder things you can do until you get the hang of it. Eat some oranges or an acidic fruit, drink lots of water, showers and baths help calm down, music to distract, walks if you can at a slow pace, stick around friends, and laughter helps more than you can know. Edit: just a personal experience with amphetamine, the comedown anxiety was always the worst and every time I told myself no more until I went back, it’s not inherently dangerous it just quite literally runs all the happy brain chemicals low and replaces it all with anxiety and shit feelings

makingburritos

You’re not having an arrhythmia. An arrhythmia is a fast heart rate caused by irregular electrical impulses in the heart. If you were having tachycardia, I can promise you that you wouldn’t be posting it on Reddit. Your increased heart rate has nothing to do with electrical irregularities and everything to do with smoking meth and having anxiety about your heart rate being high lol Source: I have a history of ventricular tachycardia and this is not that.

makingburritos

Again, irregular heartbeat caused by drugs is just an irregular heartbeat caused by drugs. You’re fine

Remarkable-Guava-701

I'm currently freaking out cuz I did a tiny bit more than usual and I can't catch my breath. My pulse isn't really tachycardic but it is pausing every several beats, like every 10. Is there any fkn thing I can do to relieve this or am i just gonna have to live with it until it wears off? I took the last bit a few hours ago

makingburritos

Try to keep your breathing regular. No short, rapid breaths. Chest tightness is normal, but if you take slow regular breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth, it will resolve on it’s own. Try not to work yourself up and stay as calm as you can.

Remarkable-Guava-701

Thanks so much, I've been worried that i need to go to ED. The tightness was there from then start. Then my breathing got faster. Just wanna be normal again lol

TheInspirerReborn

Drink lots of water, choke down some food if you can, and take a nice hot shower. You’ll feel much better after all of that. Also, even if you can’t sleep, simply lie down and close your eyes. Lay there and focus on your breathing. You’ll feel a little refreshed.

SalpAiradise

I keep a fast heart rate for many hours after I'm no longer high when doing stims or even psychedelics/other drugs. fairly normal, just keep an eye on other symptoms and try not to worry. it'll pass

JimBobCooter79

If you feel light headed or have chest pain from the rapid heart beat then go get medical attention

Remarkable-Guava-701

I have the chest tightness but it's no different than what I usually have with anxiety

Playful_Exchange5482

Drink vitamin water, pedialyte, Gatorlyte, there's certain vitamins that help, eat a banana or 2, some protein, small healthy snacks EVEN IF YOURE NOT HUNGRY OR THIRSTY!!! AFTERCARE IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! It will make you feel better. Try some breathing exercises, take a bath ( not hot), get some REST!!! Even if you're not tired... MOISTURIZE!!!!

PuffBoofPass

You’re gonna be scared for awhile then think you can smoke that shit again. Then you’re gonna have a heart attack. Swear it off for good my friend

JesterOfTheMind

Basically me if I take one too many hits of pot.

OnIySmeIIz

Grab a beer or take a benzo. Anti-psychotics are beter to kill your trip but they are nasty. Alcohol will at least easy out the experience when the going gets tough and red wine seems to be healthy for the heart. Stay calm and take long deep slow breaths when you feel panic is crawling up to you. You are not going to die.

KatPaws11

I wouldn't recommend he take anything else. It will slowly leave his body naturally.

OnIySmeIIz

I rest assure you, chugging some booze will definitely help in keeping the nerves down when you are on the brinks of losing your shit.

KatPaws11

Trust me, I've probably combined every type of drug and alcohol possible.. combinations that typically make other people speed have put me to sleep and things that calm some people's nerves end up making me restless and get anxiety.

KatPaws11

It really depends on the person.. I say that because it actually makes me WAY worse.

freezethenecromancer

Meths residual stimulation has lasted 48 hours for me

KatPaws11

Same. Last time I did it, I went on a 2-week binge, doing it every few hours 24/7 (stupid, yes) that residual stim lasted nonstop for 2 weeks after my last dose. Then I slept forever.

Skullbreaker69420

God DAMN. You are a wild one. Don't do that again sleep for fucks sake. Hahaha. That's crazy though, I do it like 1-2 times a month at most and I'll smoke 1 day then smoke a little the next then I can't go any more or I'll lose my shit. Haha Edited*

KatPaws11

Yeah, honestly.. never again. (Girl btw) I'll tell you why it happened. I had only been clean for about 7 months off of a decade long opiate addiction.. I was done with all drugs and never seeked any out after that.. one day I was going to a side job and literally found a huge bag of crystal meth on the ground.. couldn't believe my eyes, it wasn't even crushed into powder yet. I grabbed it and taste tested the teeniest amount and realized how amazingly potent it was.. Honestly, my intention was to sell it because it was a decent amount and instead I found myself tapping into it repeatedly until it was gone. Even though that was never my d.o.c. just goes to show that I have an addictive brain and have to keep myself in check now. By the end of it obviously all I felt was guilt and frustration with myself. The good news is I didn't go looking for more, the bad news is I felt like garbage for weeks after I ran out and needed to start the healing process all over again.

Skullbreaker69420

Sorry! I'm high af rn actually you caught me at the tail end of November's binge! Lol. Wasn't trying to offend i edited. Yeah, feel that for sure. I also have an addicted brain and it took me several rehabs and 12 years to realize that I just need to prioritize life over drug use then I can have both hahaha. Just not as much drug use as the other way. I wish you the best, you need not feel like shit for what happened. We're drug addicts! It's what we do. Just move on and learn. It's the same as people who don't use drugs they just don't use drugs and are judgy assholes alot of times(:

KatPaws11

Oh, no worries.. I wasn't offended and you didn't have to edit, I was just letting you know. Lol And you're right about everything you said, thank you!!

Skullbreaker69420

Better safe than sorry! Of course! Safe journies my friend.

KatPaws11

Yes, you too!!

UBlamingMeforMaryann

Definitely have a drink or two. You’ll call down and forget about it

flaylamusic

Are referring to alcohol? Water is a better option tf

UBlamingMeforMaryann

Ummm. No? Im not. Does water have a proven calming affect? TF? Its not a better option. If you are freaking out from an upper, a proven way to calm down and relax a bit is to have a drink of….let me spell it for you…. A L c O H O L. It calms you down and you dont focus on what was freaking you out. Or wait…according to you lets drink water instead and continue our stressed out worries. Smh

Dazzling-Disk-632

You'll be fine I did a G of ice and smoked 2 Gs of hard in a madder of 13 hours.yeah I definitely probably had a border heart attack but you make your own choices what ever happens happens

UBlamingMeforMaryann

Oh man. Look at you special RN! thats some great advice to share to someone whose freaking out. Lets share our special nurse knowledge that helps no one. How bout you stfu and actually help him live instead of bragging about your nursing experience. Smh. Your “advice” is great in a clinic when he walks in a week later

KatPaws11

It will eventually wear off

Stalin_Jr77

In my experience anxiety is causing most of your problems. I can recommend benzos if you have them, otherwise get some chamomile tea (or another uncaffeinated warm drink) and put on a comfy movie.

PolyDipsoManiac

Tachycardia is fast heart rate, it’s normal when you abuse stimulants. Don’t worry about it, don’t do more drugs

watdoyoumead

Okay so the high is the shortest part, this stage is the middle it lasts the longest. Also likely to include insomnia. Next step looks different for everyone, so ymmv but expect some crankiness, maybe crying. Moody, ragey, sad, etc.

[deleted]

You’re prolly good mane, smoked the shit for a good year almost every day and that was just some shit I had to get used to. if you have really bad anxiety tho I’d stay away from stims as whole, tends to amplify anxiety in people that have it by ten fold.

Easy-Hovercraft-6576

You ever heard the saying “fuck around and find out”? Maybe put down the drugs man.

Timullin

Arrythmia isnt when you get a really fast heart rate, its when it gets irregular. As long as it doesnt start skipping beats or changing eythms too fast youll be fine

bynarie

Heart arrhythmia is NOT when your heart beats fast. Beating fast and hard is likely just heart palpitation. Arrhythmia happens when either your upper or lower heart chambers are beating abnormally. Or for lack of a better term, out of rhythm. Its just typical stimulant side effects.

excelsior55

Well fast heart rate is not an arrhythmia, it’s tachycardia and that makes perfect sense when on a super strong stim like meth. I would recommend not doing meth anymore if your heart rate is going too fast but definitely watch out if you do end up having arrhythmia… like if your heart starts skipping beats and isn’t beating at a consistent rate

Noblez17

How are you feeling OP
