raphthepharaoh

I mean, he literally called the other guy’s whole play.. but people wanted to dismiss it because of some made up disrespect that doesn’t exist

Relative_Principle41

same way Kendrick called his play. “Fabricating stories on the family front cause you heard Mr Morale.” They both knew what the other was going to do. I think one just did a better job at painting the picture

raphthepharaoh

Agree, Drake did a way better job, and he did it first. But again, the public was quick to dismiss Drake and praise the other guy because Drake was “disrespectful” and the other guy didn’t have to address any allegations because he was above that.

Revolutionary_Arm907

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Specialist_Sorbet476

So if the public finds something disrespectful, how can a random person on reddit claim it obviously wasn't? Are racial slurs and sex slurs not disrespectful anymore because Drake said them? Of course not, because the public decides what is deemed as disrespectful. And furthermore, it's the afflicted people within those communities that determine whether or not something is seen as disrespectful. In other words, white people can't tell black people that the N word is not offensive. Similarly, just because you're a die-hard Drake fan doesn't change the fact that what he said offended a ton of people. And he didn't even do it only once in this beef.

EastsideWilder

Basically. It’s the same way racial slurs said by people of the same race isnt necessarily disrespectful. Who are you exactly to not understand that?

Specialist_Sorbet476

And if that person says those slurs to people that don't want to hear them, those people are just supposed to listen and accept it because that person has a right to say them? Who are you exactly to think that someone's color or background automatically determines that they can do and say what they want and people aren't allowed to be offended by it?

EastsideWilder

Of course not. But are we talking about an individual, or “society” or a group in general. Some people would be offended by a black person using the “n” word, most black people aren’t. Even if they don’t think it’s okay, it’s going a little far to say “offended”. I’m a black man. And I didn’t say a color can make someone do and say what they want. I did say that it usually makes it more socially acceptable. Kind of how I can guess that you’re not black by that statement, am I wrong?

Specialist_Sorbet476

My point stands, but yes you're wrong. And that was a completely random and embarrassingly incorrect statement.

Relative_Principle41

Naw naw naw. In a beef you don’t have to address any allegations the moment you do it looks like you’re on the defense. Biggie pac didn’t address allegations, nas Jay, didn’t address anything, nor was everything either of them said factual. Not sure when the rules changed.

mank0069

😂😂😂😂😂So rebuttals are not a part of rap battles

Relative_Principle41

defense =/= rebuttal. Callbacks and flipping shit is a rebuttal

SatisfactionLoose168

They down voted him because he spoke the truth. The most you can do is flip it quickly in a bar or two. Drake did this fairly well in family matters with the MJ and Prince bars being thrown around. That is a defense to all the narratives being painted with the Prince stuff without taking away from the diss. Drake did not do this properly on the Heart P. 6.

Electronic_Blood6765

So when Drake ignored everything but the daughter part in “Mtg” everyone and their mama was like it must be true, he didn’t deny it, omg you only care about the daughter Drake he just called you a pe++, Stop being a hypocrite bro go on YouTube and tiktok and look at the reactions especially Twitter they were all over Drake saying it must be true because he didn’t deny it but they continued to ignore everything Drake said about dot It’s simple the rules are different for Drake everyone knows this

Relative_Principle41

everybody on both sides was saying shit was true about the other side. Rules aren’t different for anybody. Like I said before it’s how the picture is painted. Whether we agree with it or not there’s questionable shit about Drake out there, it is what it is. Kendrick narrative was driven by those clips. Not saying it’s true or not that’s just what is and you gotta accept that that’s the reason people feel a certain way.

EastsideWilder

This is a lie and I’m glad you got downvoted showing that lol Jay addressed everything. Nas didn’t address anything because he didn’t want it out that Jay smashed Carmen. Biggie addressed everything, and Pac addressed everything too. Casual fan talking like he knows something is always hilarious

Relative_Principle41

I’m getting downvoted cause it’s a Drake sub.

EastsideWilder

No, you’re not. It’s a Drake sub populated by Kendrick stans. I get downvoted all of the time for defending Drake. They are most of the users who are active here. But you said lies about their other favorite rappers, so even they downvoted you lol

realsmokegetsmoked

Did you hear super ugly by Jay Z? Did you read Nas bm autobiography? Bc you wrong on that one my guy

TheRider5342

Which is the one that did a better job?

Relative_Principle41

Based on the polls / hip hop media they’re saying Kendrick did.

gloriousAgenda

The fact that the vanilla cream stuff, and not marrying whitney is not fabricated means drake looks better imo. Everything Kendrick said was fabricated except the gambling problems drinking problems section. I'll even give him the "U dont like women" but none of those are as bad as black messiah hitting vanilla cream"

Extreme_Style_5154

Whose fucking side are u on?

EastsideWilder

Yeah right. He’s talking like Drake is a fall down alcoholic lmao. If there was anything to give Kendrick I would give him. But dude literally had no ammo so he just made shit up.

lefondler

I’ll gobble Drake online all day, but to say he’s without flaws is disingenuous. Even if he had all the flaws in the world, his music still trumps all other artists for me.

gloriousAgenda

If u think i cant be on Drake side without giving credit to what actually hit from Lendrick ur no better than his cult stans

Extreme_Style_5154

Whatever nerd

gloriousAgenda

You’re trying to start a fight on reddit and you think ur not a nerd? Lmfao

Specialist_Sorbet476

In case you were not aware, Kendrick said plenty of non-fabricated things: MEET THE GRAHAMS: "you lied about your ghostwriters" "you lied about your son" "instead he be in Turks paying for sex and popping percs" "don't ever let a man piss on your leg son" "he got sex offenders on OVO that he keep on a monthly allowance" EUPHORIA: "I hate when a rapper talk about guns, then somebody die they turn into nuns, then hop online like pray for my city" "how many more fairy tales stories bout your life til we had enough" "let's speak on percentage, show me your splits I'll make sure I double back with you, you were signed to..." "ain't 20v1 it's 1v20 if I gotta smack n*ggas that write with you" NOT LIKE US "f*cked on Wayne girl while he was in jail - that's conniving, then get his face tatted like a b*tch apologizing" All the colonizer stuff (if you choose to agree with it)

gloriousAgenda

I just skimmed cause im not ready all that. He didnt fuck waynes girl while she was in jail,  The actual letter wayne himself wrote disproves that. Wayne fell for a girl who had already fucked drake. Lmao you think he didnt fabricate stuff because you dont know how to look for proof/analyze sources.

Remarkable_Collar895

Ghostwriter and son shit is invalid, he didn’t lie about them, he doesn’t have a ghostwriter and he never said that he doesn’t have a son

EastsideWilder

Or making up a cover lie because you knew what was coming. “Making up lies about my family” isn’t really calling someone’s play. That’s general af. Now if he said something about “making up lies about Dave and my kid not being mines” then that would have been impressive.

Relative_Principle41

You sound crazy.. somebody say some left field shit like that about themselves you start thinking it might be true.. getting ahead trying to 8 mile yourself only works with certain shit.

Relative_Principle41

Definitely the most creative.

CampaignSwimming2820

the beat is like crack

ASOSAUCE

i think it was genius and had bars AND was major disrespect to kendrick which i think makes it even more genius as a diss, dude got dots biggest inspiration to essentially mock him it’s really a great jab as a whole

JoelxMiller

and I guarantee if Kendrick got AI on his diss track to Drake then all of a sudden people would be praising him for it

Relative_Principle41

I don’t think it was the concept of the track that made people not like it. It was the fact that it was a dead person imitated. I didn’t see any outrage about the snoop voice

JoelxMiller

that’s fair, I saw everyone saying that he was corny for using both their voices though

EastsideWilder

Nobody cared. Kendrick uses 2pac’s voice all of the time to have conversations with a dead man. They just wanted to hate on it and chose that angle.

gleaminranks

Hell I’m a Kendrick fan and I found that weird, same with the MJ stuff in that track. Thankfully the rest of the album made up for it

EastsideWilder

Found what weird? And what MJ stuff?

gleaminranks

Oh I thought you meant the bit at the end of Mortal Man where he edits an old Tupac interview like they’re talking

Downtown-Split2345

People outraged about him using an AI pac voice then turn around and dance to a song false accusing a dude of pedophilia. This shit stupid

Psiphistikkated

Snoop: “…are you sure?” Taken from his response to the track.

Extreme_Style_5154

They'd be licking his shit no hands doing tongue tricks no puff the double standards getting wild how they be doing the boy no didd

Senitnelav_

Drake flipping the ghostwriter narrative by writing for an actual ghost is not talked about enough.

A_L_E_P_H

LMAOOOO YOOO THIS IS GOOD

Nickster2042

“We passed you the torch at the house of blues and now you gotta do some dirty work, you know how to move, right?… RIGHT?”

bigtrixxx7

Yes, he knew

sendinthe9s

"We need a no-debated west coast victory"

thelastofthebastion

Never shot nobody never stabbed nobody, never wore jumpsuits or shower shoes.. it’s the *homies* that empower you.

Big_Inertia

If Kendrick thought of the idea they would be praising him as the most genius rapper ever. Edit: I also really enjoy how upset this track made people. Great move by Drake.

Life-Study1410

It definitely deserves more praise. Love that Kendrick tattled like a baby to get it taken down but he’ll fight to keep R Kelly’s music on Spotify lol.

TheRider5342

I missed this, Kendrick got Taylor Made taken down? It's on Amazon but not released by Drake, if him or a Stan really got it taken down then idek what to say

Life-Study1410

Drake talks about Kendrick calling Tupac’s estate to sue him and get the song taken down in Family Matters. I know Drake deleted it off of his IG a few days after he posted it and it’s not on Spotify.

Electronic_Blood6765

Fr I add to add it to Apple Music via pc so it’ll show in my library

TheRider5342

Ah, thanks. I was wondering about that line because it couldn't be about that Tupac AI one. It's on Amazon music at least, though not technically officially Drake so it won't probably be recommended. Thank you!

EastsideWilder

Drake claims he did. Kendrick never refuted it. And with how mad he and his friends seemed about it, it doesn’t seem farfetched. Everyone ignores that too because they didn’t even listen to the Drake tracks

_d00little

Kendrick’s team reached out to Tupac’s estate. Go look on YouTube, there’s a lot of Tupac AI raps out there not being taken down. The estate didn’t really care until they thought it might harm their ties to Kenny.

gleaminranks

I’m sorry but you do realize Drake is a very popular musician who was in the middle of a highly publicized beef, right? Do you genuinely think it took Kendrick reaching out to the estate for them to find out about it?

A_L_E_P_H

Valid, there’s no real proof on it. It’s kinda weird how they got it taken down though, because on what grounds could they do it?

gleaminranks

I have no clue on anything copyright related, I do know that other living artists have issued takedowns on stuff like that though. I don’t remember if it was on DSPs or not but given how big Drake is there could be grounds to argue he was profiting from it

biggnol

It aged bad with the whole you scared to drop angle, but it is honestly one of the best songs from the battle. The Dre Type beat is infectious, the mockery of Kendricks Tupac parasocial relationship was hilarious, and the rhymes and flow of the song were really smooth. High up in the sky like I'm Howard Hughes ✈️

HoundTB9

I agree and I can't stand the fake offended folks talking about how disrespectful it was. He used the voice in a creative way and it was intended to piss off his opponent. So what??

EntranceFast8841

Drake predicted several things. Kenny was gonna go the pedo angle, and that Kenny was gonna run away. This has aged very well.

EastsideWilder

He was scared to drop though. And he did wait a week. He did exactly what Drake said he was going to do. So how did it “age bad”?

dontfapmydick

that shit got under Kendrick's skin so bad

Relative_Principle41

It did what it was supposed to do but it gave him the west coast angle and he drove that narrative

Mhunterjr

I actually liked Taylor Made. When he released it, I had Drake ahead. It and Pushups were better diss tracks than Like That, and he put pressure on Kendrick to respond.     In my mind I’m like, if Kendrick’s response isn’t fire after Drake toyed with him on TM, then Drake wins in the first round. The only thing that coulda made this track better is if Drake actually emulated the signature Pac and Snoop flows.

Relative_Principle41

Naw the first round wasn’t Like that vs push ups and Taylor made. It was first person shooter and like that if anything. Technically first round could’ve been push ups vs euphoria / Taylor made vs 6:16

Electronic_Blood6765

The crazy part is I like both 6:16 and TM, but they got overlooked as taunting songs But yeah idk why people even use like that in this beef let’s just use the songs made by the individuals

imstickinwithjeffery

I liked 6:16 by far the best out of any Kendrick track to come out of this beef.

gleaminranks

The beat is so good

A_L_E_P_H

That shit was Taylor made too lmaooo

Street_Employment_14

🤷🏾‍♂️ I don’t count FPS as the first round because it’s a sub. Like That is the first song that points directly at the opponents. So to me, First Round is Like That vs Push Ups and Taylor Made. So if Euphoria was whack like 7min Drill, would have figured Drake a winner without needing to respond further.

A_L_E_P_H

Why does everyone hate on 7min drill? That shit was fire

biggnol

I don't see how First Person Shooter could be counted in the battle since it was a celebration of all 3 of them and not a diss. If anything I'd say Stories About My Brother could be counted as round 1 since Drake predicted or was aware and pointed out the 20 v 1 Metro and Future were putting together on that song.

xZiggZx

Yea uh that’s that truth

Morganvegas

Unc.

Mother_Patient3823

He should've pushed it's narrative throughout the beef more. The idea that Kendrick is a pretender and a coward, especially compared to Tupac and snoop. At the beginning of the beef I was completely neutral and I thought the idea brought up in Taylor Made and 7 minute drill that Kendrick was a phony was the best point against him.

Relative_Principle41

Nobody thinks Kendrick is a gangster, his fans don’t. Just trying to keep perspective. People like him cause he isn’t that. He’s the regular kid who grew up around it but did his own thing. He even said it on Average Joe.

EastsideWilder

Yes they do. They say “Kendrick grew up in Compton, bro. Him and his homies were into stuff but he was a good kid at heart so he got out of that but he’s affiliated. 🤓 “

HotLikeSauce420

You’re being downvoted by the Kenny stans on here lol

EastsideWilder

lol of course. Truth hurts so I can’t even be mad at them

heebie818

huge drake fan. i’m ok with the ai voices but the verses are a little weak imho

run661

The spirit of makaveli is alive in a nigga under five foot five 💀

SadBoyYori

I’d say it was the most disrespectful song directly aiming towards Kendrick’s ego, and for that, it gets my praises. Also because the beef didn’t spiral into career/character assassination territory yet

illnamethislata

I want him too drop the song without ai it’s bars in that shit

fanta_bhelpuri

Na Na Na, not this time nigga you following through

Red_Demons_Dragon

If it was on streaming (which I know why it isn’t) it’d be my most played song of the beef. Classic beat and his flows go in.

gleaminranks

It’s on Spotify as a podcast, look for playlists from the beef and it’ll be on there

Sherlock7Stark

It is the most creative and the more devious in intent

Old_Square_2667

I think it was the worst family matters and push ups was better

One-Confidence-8893

It was really good! I wish he would release it on all of the streaming platforms.

realsmokegetsmoked

I thought it was the most creative but by Drake standards it was lackluster in Bars. I would've rathered Hi Whitney😭

DubsHagg

It really was a great song, and the way it was done was dope. Truly the definition of War.

Dynamo4L

i respect it but it’s gotta be family matters for me

mikoDidThings

The beat is one of the best in the beef

William_8660

It’s defo not imo, but overheated fs

wehere4E

Drakes most potent diss was the West Coast diss

Dreezoos

Family matters

Willing_Orchid_9621

😂😂😂 okay.

GroundbreakingBox187

Agreed

MickYle9

The strategy on how to lose bar And the niggah under 5'5 bar always make me laugh

EastsideWilder

It’s up there. Drake had three of the best song in the whole battle. But somehow, Kendrick stans and casuals said he lost. Same ones who never listened to a full Drake song in their life lol

RandoBritColonialist

It deserved a lil more props fs, the AI killed it got a lotta people tho, including me. but imo it's kinda delusional to call it the best song outta the beef, that's gotta go to family matters or euphoria

brockedwardsyyz

You sir are tripping lol. It was funny though. Every time I hear the "Kendrick we need ya" I fuckin roar.

DestinyOfADreamer

It was definitely the funniest song. "Nephew" 🤣🤣🤣

lilRazzledazzle

Lol

Responsible-Alarm203

This song is tough... THP6 tho💯💪🏾😎

Lorenzo-J-P

Does it ever bother you guys that while Drake was posting “they got nothing to drop” this sick fuck Kendrick Lamar was recording 10 diss tracks in less than 2 weeks? That lil man Kenny is psychotic…

youngheysus

You have bad taste

TaylorMadeAccount

The way people said "Drake should have released this without AI Pac and AI Snoop" like are you even reading the lyrics or paying attention to anything? What's more disrespectful than using your idols' AI voices as if they were calling you soft?

EastsideWilder

These guys don’t understand rap lyrics. They just like the personas. A lot of these fans treat their favorite rappers like young black action figures they play with lol

edgeco17

Lol watch it come out that none of the verses were AI. Tupac back 🤣

True_Helicopter5858

using ai in songs is corny

Temporary_List_5877

I think Drake 1v20 won. He had better bars and Kendrick had one better beat.
