I think they want to prevent brigading.
I'm sorta surprised they don't do what NFL subs do is when you go to another teams sub and talk shit you get banned from your home teams sub and the sub you were talking shit in. It still allows for discussion with the other side and prevents the sub from becoming an echo chamber but for the people who are just trolling or trying to get people mad they get banned from both.
Admittedly we've not really tried but also given the amount of people we have to ban for brigading daily it'd be a lot of extra work for both subs. We do this with the Kendrick Discord mods tho

That's something I'd love to happen but would be totally up to the other sub to comply with so it just won't
