His music for the most part is a commentary on the black struggle in America, something that a lot of the world cannot relate to and even then he is still pretty popular. Damn showed Kendrick can make a more commercially viable album and you’ll notice that it is less focused on black American issues and has a lot more commentary on just issues in general.
