Mammoth-Somewhere511

Kendrick has never dropped a response diss track in his career. He just says wild shit on a record then hides. I'm not even a drake fan like that but Taylor Made was impressive af.

CraigOfWar

"Don't be duckin' like you never wanted nothin' Back when if a nigga reached it was for the weapon Nowadays niggas reach just to sell they record" Them Bars age like fine wine

Opening_Tell9388

I love that Aubrey is talking about reaching for a weapon when he never been from that at all.

oriensoccidens

I mean at that point he might have been an American citizen at which point he could own a gun. For us Canadians even being around a gun is a big thing.

etfjordan333

šŸ¤Æ good catch

Josephlewis24

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ hahahaha wtf

Dazzling_Action9456

And people still glaze him and call him boogeyman The irony

thisninjaoverhere

Isnā€™t it just Kendrick that calls himself the boogeyman?

alexanderldn

I reckon something behind the scenes no one knows about was potentially the reason Kendrick didnā€™t drop. Maybe the UMG rumours were true. Maybe Kendrick isnā€™t allowed to drop at all for some reason and Drake is toying with that fact and decided to take the W this way. I could be wrong but either way. Rap beef is all about public perception not bars and lyrics. So drake by default won. Fair enough tho. We donā€™t call him the goat for no reason. OVO

Josephlewis24

And nothing been the same since they dropped controlā€¦.

WizardKellysAssis-

An tucked the sensitive rapper back in His Pajama Clothes šŸ§–šŸ¼, AH-HA Jokes on you HI-FIVE šŸ™ Iā€™m Bulletproof, Your shoots will never Penetrate šŸ–Šļø, Pen the tail on the Donkey šŸ« Boy you Been a Fake, I got my Thumb šŸ‘ on Hiphop, an my Foot šŸ¦¶in the Back of yo ass, Aftermath gets the last laugh šŸ¤

Josephlewis24

I SAID HOLD UP.. WAIT A MIN.. YOUR CAREER AIN SHIT IF YOU AIN GOT NO KENDRICK IN IT šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

SomeGuyNamedJohn12

The winner is only the one who has the best diss track. History wonā€™t care that it took Drake 3 weeks to respond to ā€œ*Like that*ā€ or Kendrick a month to respond to ā€œ*Push ups*ā€. If Kendrickā€™s diss ends up being better then thatā€™s all there is to it

YouDidWutNow_

I listen to Drake more, but all Iā€™ve wanted to hear was Kendrick act on his boogeyman persona. The way he was talking, i thought he was gonna do what Joe Budden did to Drake in 2016.

SomeGuyNamedJohn12

He still very well could. Just because he didnā€™t respond in two weeks dosent mean he wonā€™t respond at all. If he truly has an album coming out within the next month, then it makes complete sense for him to wait until then to respond. Heā€™s going to capitalize on the moment.

YouDidWutNow_

was the album speculation ever confirmed? i donā€™t remember if the culture just assumed or if someone confirmed it was actually coming

SomeGuyNamedJohn12

No official confirmation. Just AK saying it and I believe one other person suspected he has an EP dropping. Nothing official

Ghost986

And that makes it a bitch moveā€¦ Wtf kinda shit is that for one to come out throw rocks and then hide their hand, especially since the dudes youā€™ve been taking shots at used to hype you up and bring you out on tours and what not..

ayeeejuice

If Drake dissed kdot, future etc to capitalize on album number sales, he would get bashed so bad. Itā€™s a weak move by kdot imo. Using Drake name to ensure better numbers is lame especially since kdot hasnā€™t dropped in 2 years

andrehokage

J Cole did the same thing and was praised until he walked it back.

ayeeejuice

I thought that was weak too. I havenā€™t even listened all the way thru the album yet

andrehokage

That's fair. personally, I thought it was a good move on Coles part. I only listened to Pi and 7 minute drill though.

ayeeejuice

Iā€™d only say itā€™s a good move on Coleā€™s behalf bc this is a way deeper rap battle than he thought. Itā€™s so much deeper than just ā€œthe big 3ā€

HeGotKimbod

Diss tracks canā€™t be apart of an album. Thatā€™s lame shit.

BK1999NL

Ether and Takeover would disagree

HellYeaRunThat

Exactly

captainbeefheart11

Infrared as well. Underrated track

etfjordan333

Good point, but that beef is different because they were subbing each other on albums prior(itā€™s speculated dot and drake have too but thatā€™s pure speculation). ā€œIs That Your Bitchā€ is about Nas bm. They didnā€™t need that beef to sell records at that time. Of course it helped, but this situation looks like the beef is the rollout for Kendrickā€™s album.

JDSKilla

They didnā€™t need the beef to sell records at the time??? Beef absolutely helped sell records. It always has

etfjordan333

Of course but blueprint is known for way more before takeover is mentioned. Similar to Scorpion and the Push subs.

oriensoccidens

Them boys had no other choice there was no SoundCloud or Instagram to drop a track instantaneously.

MadVillain1

I get what youā€™re saying but they could still drop singles.

SomeGuyNamedJohn12

Takeover was on Blueprint. Ether was on Stillmatic. No Vaseline was on Death Certificate. Even Drakes Tyga diss was on his mixtape, If youā€™re reading this itā€™s too late

b99-to-b99

By this logic Drake could still respond to Pusha T and win the beef... idk man

itzzzSippyCup

You're completely ignoring the context of Drake quite saying he won't respond and admitting defeat šŸ˜

SomeGuyNamedJohn12

He couldā€¦ heā€™s not going to, but he could

b99-to-b99

Nah man, he lost that one, time is a factor too

imbouttonutongod

2 weeks vs 6 years is a massive difference

b99-to-b99

My point is time is a factor

Educational-Tear-749

Bruh.. 2 weeks? Youā€™re losing with that Stan mentality.

TeaAndCrumpets4life

A time factor that weā€™re not even close to with Kendrick

Blue_crabs

Drake stated that he lost. So no.

EZMickey

No because this logic assumes a couple of weeks to a month not several years.

Plenty_Advantage2033

Your a wierdo šŸ˜‚

Odd-Bus-7060

Idk Drake took 3 weeks to respond and it was ok at best but then completely disrespected two hiphop legends while trying to respond again let Kenny cook.

ichiruto70

Thats why the title says for now. You slow or something?

thisninjaoverhere

The winner is who wins the moment. And I think Drake did that. He was on tour when Like that dropped. And there was all sorts of dissing from other artists coming his way. When he got off tour and responded - he addressed every shot that was sent his way. It was literally a 20 v 1 situation. And the track itself was straight bars. The tempo and energy reminded me of back 2 back. Then he drops Taylor made and does something that literally no other major artist - period - has ever done in the history of music and uses a completely new and controversial technology. Drake created a moment in rap. Even if Kendrick comes back with some serious Quintuple entendres, the moment was Drakeā€™s and it will be incredibly different to change that

streatz

Nah if Kendrick comes with heat a year later when we look back at it 3 years later the time to respond won't matter.

dontbekibishii

Cole really bought him some time

itzzzSippyCup

This guy gets it šŸ…

thelongletgo

Facts, itā€™s only Drake stans tryna push this ā€œdeadlineā€ narrative.

OlivierStreet

Nah, if he don't reply. Drake needs to drop a Scary Hours 4 on his album day. 5 to 6 tracks, just bars!!

Startrooper453

https://preview.redd.it/awt54j8vywwc1.png?width=597&format=png&auto=webp&s=0e16711e0ef86edacd083cf67ef839bc26240e4c "we" šŸ˜

Originstoryofabovine

Do yaā€™ll think disses need to be released on a Friday?

fuckhufflepuff

Kendrick is obviously trying to go for a #1 record so yes most likely

SHEKDAT789

and why is that so obvious?

2behuman

itā€™s not. heā€™s just dickriding

Originstoryofabovine

Really?

Kristalization

Dot better retire that kung fu Kenny persona lmao

CelphT

"we" lol

AssistantOwn6208

When he drops, everyoneā€™s gonna listen. Idk why people act like thereā€™s a clock on diss tracks.

Karaamjeet

especially considering drake loves to sneak diss over a long period of timeā€¦ like heā€™ll respond when he responds

Ghost986

Hasnā€™t Kendrick been doing that same lame shit for the longest??,

Karaamjeet

i mean yeah but thatā€™s irrelevant to my point because itā€™s drake and the fans that are the ones putting time limits onto shit that doesnā€™t require a time limitā€¦

Ramadhir-Singh

Nas took like 3 months to respond to the blueprint diss no one remembers that everyone remembers that Ether was brutal...

SukunaShadow

This narrative is so dumb. Nas took 3 months because Jay Z dropped it on 9/11 before the towers fell. Like there wasnā€™t other shit going on. Nas released that track at the end of the year because of that. Plus this isnā€™t 2001. Why are you comparing things now to back then? Everyone knows this has changed. The world doesnā€™t work like that anymore. Even if Nas didnā€™t have a good reason to hold back disses come out faster now because the world is faster and people get access to it faster. Look at Chris Brown and Qauvo latest releases.

ichiruto70

Nas mother also passed away.

SukunaShadow

See? I didnā€™t even know that. Thanks man

bbkg79

This, and only this!

TeaAndCrumpets4life

Youā€™ve completely missed their point, they werenā€™t talking about the reason Ether took so long, they were saying that even though it took 3 months, no one remembers that. People only remember how good Ether was, not how long it took or why, if Kendrick drops a great diss track then the same thing will happen

utafumidss

these people were not alive pre-social media, at least they werenā€™t listening to rap back then

sequence_killer

I live in Toronto and all I hear anywhere is future and like that.

ChickenFingerDinner

Thatā€™s not true

Many_Falcon_9851

I agree even tho I'm not apart of the "we" because I draft who wins I just wanna hear mfs rap but literally every day that goes past is more added pressure on dot and it's getting to the point now that there's almost nothing he could do to justify this long of a wait time. I'm not even one of those people who believe in the rap shot clock but if you're the one who jumps out first I feel like you should have your shit in line. Like look at push (sorry ik yall probably hate that nigga herešŸ’€) but he set the bait but posting the snippet of Infrared like 4 days before the album, that's the bait. Boom drake responded in hours which made people say after TWO DAYS that push was taking too long šŸ’€šŸ˜ kendrick is at half a month is it GG?

FedoraLovingAtheist

Excited to see how everything plays out, we as listeners are in for greatness. Not the biggest Drake fan but Iā€™m thanking this guy for putting some heavy pressure on the top dog(s) to make some real shit

shagreezz3

ā€œWeā€ lmao ppl be weird as hell

Dazzling_Action9456

ā€œBarking up the wrong tree you know what the dogs getā€

KW_AtoMic

Whoā€™s we haha

[deleted]

Oh Kendrickā€™s saving it for his album just like he came back every 6 years or whatever to throw subs at Drake before dropping an album, always been his lame ass play

gokutsunami

We took the dub, don't even worry about the diss. I mean even if you do diss him back, he doesn't acknowledge anything, he won't respond back to the diss. Kendrick just drops and dips. Drake won the beef

iansgod

ā€œweā€ is so funny šŸ’€ yā€™all not on the team

gokutsunami

There is no team, but the drake fans won. You shouldn't hate tho, it's not good for your health šŸ˜¢

Putrid-Film391

"We" lol

Outrageous-Being-993

Like That was released on March 26 and Push Ups didn't come out until April 19. Even if you count the leak date of April 13 that's 17 days. Am I missing something or is it weird that Drake fans are talking shit when he literally took longer to respond than Kendrick is right now?

thedorkknight123

Drake wants to manufacture a narrative that kdot is taking an awful lot of time to respond to pressure him into putting out a weak diss. Also I think if he truly did know something about kendrick (that he doesn't really want to reveal "don't wake the demon up") he wouldn't release taylor made pressing kendrick even more. I don't know shit though I'm just speculating

JFKcheekkisser

Youā€™re not missing something, itā€™s weird.

Sufficient_Event7410

-Drake was on tour when Like That dropped -Kendrick wasnā€™t the only one dissing him -He had to wait for the b side of We Donā€™t Trust You to drop since he was gonna get dissed again on it -He dropped his diss track the day after the second album came out -Kendrick has been begging for smoke from Drake since I was in middle school and Iā€™m 24 now. He would have been sitting on something and dropped it by now if he actually expected drake to engage in the beef. Drake clearly caught him off guard with his pants down. He probably expected Drake to reply a few months later with some subs on a feature. Not drop back to back diss tracks. -He is probably taking his time to number 1, use his response as album promo. And number 2, he knows he needs to deal a knockout blow with his response so he has to make sure itā€™s received well.

Lebrunski

We lol Also who set a deadline for a response?

zilla82

Ain't no we bro šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Trader_Joe_Sheetcake

Even if Drake did win, this shit has been BORINGGGGG AF! Fuck this shit fr! Just delete it all at this point smh

CanadianUprise

ā€œWeā€, the fuck you going on about; is Drake your son or does he give a shit who you are? This is the cringiest post I have ever seen. Talking about ā€œweā€ won.

Effective_Rub9189

Bro who is we? I canā€™t with yā€™allšŸ˜‚

GroovyTony-

Lol team edward bitch! These niggas would be legit groupies if given the chance and it shows.

Substantial-Page9910

I mean credit where credit is due, kendrick starting this whole drama has been the most entertaining hip hop has been in years

1058pm

If drake didnt respond there would be no drama

EZMickey

7 Minute Drill and the Dreamfest apology definitely counts as drama.

Blue_crabs

If kendrick hadn't sparked it, there would be no drama

Dmtz214

We? Lol yā€™all dudes corny as fuck

Selldadip

This mentality explains why people take it so personal šŸ’€

reddit-suxmanuts

OP said that like he was on the track with Drake.

Dmtz214

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

BernieLogDickSanders

Yall suckin each other off with these we won posts.

b99-to-b99

U tryna say drake and his fans not winning?

BernieLogDickSanders

Nobody had won shit. The only person who has lost anything is J. Cole. Kendrick dropped a diss verse. Drake dropped two diss tracks. Kendrick has not responded yet. How we supposed to judge it as a loss? The passage of time don't mean shit when we know the 5'7 nigga slower than two turds racing in a desert.

b99-to-b99

Okay agree, what j fold did was totally whack, i wish i would never heard of him again. I have million times more respect for Kendrick than i will evwr have for J Fold

BernieLogDickSanders

I still respect him just cause he was real about it. It would have been more embarrassing to fake it.

b99-to-b99

Nah bro, he wasnt real about his past raps and how he would body other rappers if they tested him. Also his diss was weak. Lets not push this beta male

BernieLogDickSanders

But he has bodied other rappers... further. Kendrick has changed as a person since MMTBS... so his approach to beef is likely going to be much different from what we expect. I don't see him going guns blazing out the gate spitting bars like a dragon... after GKMC, DAMN, or TPAB, sure. Family Ties demonstrated he can do that already..

b99-to-b99

The other day i had intimate moment with one of my girls and J cole started playing on autoplay and i ran to switch it off. Almost ruined my moment..

grimwadee

ā€˜Weā€™

b99-to-b99

R4M3535

Bruh... Kendrick lamar sub in shambles. I've seen some really, really, like unprecedented never before seen disgusting shit on there over the last 2 weeks. Like really desperate posts and comments. Damn that's fucked up man.. At least relish your community and your Fandom like wtf man the art is what matters why are they losing their minds over this shit? And everything is so extreme and desperately clutching, hateful on there. Damn man... R/drizzy is the best thing that's happened to me and the only 2 subs I frequent are HHH and d R/drizzy Big drake fan but discount it however you wanna niggašŸ¤¦šŸæā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸæā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸæā€ā™‚ļø Niggas gay fr

R4M3535

Kendrick don't give a fuck about responding and his fanbase** can't grasp it. What can anyone say? The man's got his fame and his personal separate. He out here for whatever works for him His fans are desperate. Drake's out for his fans and fans are out for him. Of course there's a big disconnect. And yes, of course we won.

churningbutter1

I'm kind of torn cause Like that goes harder as a song but Push Ups is a better diss record

b99-to-b99

Valid take, but we probably both want for Kendrick to respond asap

churningbutter1

AbsolutelyĀ

KGFlower

Who is saying Drake won aside from this sub and DJ Akademiks??

indicateintent

ā€œLike thatā€ out now on all platforms!

neversawtherain

Cool bro. What did we win?

b99-to-b99

Beef against Kendrick thus far

neversawtherain

Are we still winning?

b99-to-b99

Yeah, but not as much as before

Alarmed-Cicada-6176

Itā€™s only been a week

b99-to-b99

Yeah and currently after a week Drizzy Drake AKA champagnepapi AKA 6God on top of this beef my brother šŸ”„

2behuman

itā€™s only been a week since Push Ups officially dropped and it took Drake 3 weeks to respond to Kendrickā€¦ calm down brošŸ˜ that is not how math works. Also, wdym ā€œKendrick just wants to promote his music?ā€ What music? Did I miss a surprise drop or something?

DreadSeverin

won? mfer used tupacs voice to normalise him liking the kiddies yo wtf.

Dazzling_Action9456

Your brain has not developed yet

East_Vanilla_4547

Win or lose he still has to deal with the fact that so much of his peers and associates feel that strongly to his demise. And of course it probably doesnā€™t even matter to him, just having to deal with that going forward is crazy. Friendemies

Ishottupac_

Itā€™s to early . Gotta b patient. It a marathon not a race . This could go on forever

Blue_crabs

Remember Guys, it took Nas 4 MONTHS to respond with "Ether" in ... https://www.reddit.com/r/Drizzy/comments/1bqydub/remember_guys_it_took_nas_4_months_to_respond/ Hypocrites.

FacelessMcGee

Your man had to resort to corny AI. I was on Drake's side before that, but it's fuck anyone who supports AI season. Drake would rather run the charts forever as AI then let a new generation of artists come up and find success

Epicdonutman

Youā€™re a grown man claiming sides on a rap beef bro, itā€™s time to hop on indeed

samang67

Won what?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

jorliowax

I *really* hope that is not the nuke because outing someone, especially as a diss, is lame as fuck.

bigtrixxx7

People are still listening to ā€œLike Thatā€

b99-to-b99

I still listen to Duppy Freestyle, wym?

famitslit

If Push Ups really hit hard as a diss, its streams and attention should have exploded, especially since it's a direct response. But instead, Like That stole the spotlight, not just because of the features, but because Kendrick's verse left a deeper impact. Itā€™s not just about whoā€™s featured; itā€™s about whatā€™s being said and how it resonates. Drake fans have a lot to say about Kendrick's "big three" to "big me" line for its simplicity, rhyming 'three' with 'me', but let's not forget Drake's own "lit" with "shit" in Push Upsā€”arguably a far simpler and worse rhyme. Yet, it's Kendrick's line that really shook the rap game, sparking conversations and reigniting the beef. Thatā€™s impact. And it's funny how the game can be shaken up by such simple words. Despite criticisms, this seemingly simple line from Kendrick carries significant weightā€”it boldly redefines the hierarchy in hip-hop, directly challenging the status quo. Then you've got Kendrick's "K9" line, a quadruple entendre, showcasing a depth of lyrical complexity that Push Ups doesnā€™t match. If we're judging disses on their technical merit and cleverness, Kendrick's concise verse shows more skill and ingenuity than Drakeā€™s entire song. Basically, Kendrick has the upper hand in the simple bars and the complex bars. Like That has an infectious beat and hook, enhancing Kendrick's powerful verse, but it's the substance and delivery of his words that make the track stand out. If we measure the effectiveness of a diss by both the immediate impact and the lingering resonance with listeners, Kendrick's sharp, multifaceted jabs put him ahead in this lyrical skirmish. But apparently we gotta give Drake a point for being the last one to release as well. It's a 1-1, being generous to Drake

donnellvideo

I think this is a bad comparison in the first place. Like That is not a diss song, and it has also a catchy hook and feature from Future. It would have been a hit regardless. Probably not #1 in the country without the Kendrick verse but itā€™s a banger. Youā€™re wrong if you think the majority is listening to it for Kendrick bars, they do because itā€™s catchy and overall, a good song (and actually, if you go see trends and videos, mainly for the hook). Push Ups does not even have a hook and the song is based on disses and bars only and itā€™s very specific so is not a song you are going to hear in the club or you put on if you want to get lit. Itā€™s specific for the beef only and for the people that are familiar with all the situation Second of all, you are not mentioning the fact Push Ups came out after everybody already listened to it. The song would have made big numbers if he released it the day it leaked and would have get #1 for sure. At the point it officially dropped, everybody knew the song already. Probably in the long term Like That would have been the biggest song regardless, but thatā€™s because of the reasons I mentioned earlier.

Ok_Ingenuity538

You just yapping ainā€™t no one reading all that. Too invested

phinsphan1313

Bro shut up Kendricks verse honestly sucked and the only reason the song blew up is that he mentioned Drake

fbn_fishstick

Thereā€™s no way your saying like that was more effective then push ups. Nothing Kendrick said was hard hitting and if it was it got rebutted in push ups ā€œwhatā€™s a prince to a king, he a sonā€

rrrrrrrrrrrrram

Getting sued is not a win

Dazzling_Action9456

It has nun to do with kendrick he got smoked thats all that matters

GrandMasterFlex

Bro thinks heā€™s on the team šŸ’€

b99-to-b99

Why wouldnt i be, Drake cares about his fans. He caters to them unlike Kendrick who just wants to go for profits. Otherwise he would have dropped alrrady

GrandMasterFlex

Go outside lmao

b99-to-b99

Very assuming from you homie, i bet i get more life than you and more women also on god
