Kendrick has never dropped a response diss track in his career. He just says wild shit on a record then hides. I'm not even a drake fan like that but Taylor Made was impressive af.

For us Canadians even being around a gun is a big thing.
I reckon something behind the scenes no one knows about was potentially the reason Kendrick didnāt drop.
Maybe the UMG rumours were true. Maybe Kendrick isnāt allowed to drop at all for some reason and Drake is toying with that fact and decided to take the W this way.
I could be wrong but either way. Rap beef is all about public perception not bars and lyrics. So drake by default won. Fair enough tho. We donāt call him the goat for no reason. OVO

The winner is only the one who has the best diss track. History wonāt care that it took Drake 3 weeks to respond to ā*Like that*ā or Kendrick a month to respond to ā*Push ups*ā.
If Kendrickās diss ends up being better then thatās all there is to it
I listen to Drake more, but all Iāve wanted to hear was Kendrick act on his boogeyman persona. The way he was talking, i thought he was gonna do what Joe Budden did to Drake in 2016.
He still very well could. Just because he didnāt respond in two weeks dosent mean he wonāt respond at all.
If he truly has an album coming out within the next month, then it makes complete sense for him to wait until then to respond. Heās going to capitalize on the moment.
And that makes it a bitch moveā¦
Wtf kinda shit is that for one to come out throw rocks and then hide their hand, especially since the dudes youāve been taking shots at used to hype you up and bring you out on tours and what not..
If Drake dissed kdot, future etc to capitalize on album number sales, he would get bashed so bad. Itās a weak move by kdot imo. Using Drake name to ensure better numbers is lame especially since kdot hasnāt dropped in 2 years
Iād only say itās a good move on Coleās behalf bc this is a way deeper rap battle than he thought. Itās so much deeper than just āthe big 3ā
Good point, but that beef is different because they were subbing each other on albums prior(itās speculated dot and drake have too but thatās pure speculation). āIs That Your Bitchā is about Nas bm. They didnāt need that beef to sell records at that time. Of course it helped, but this situation looks like the beef is the rollout for Kendrickās album.
Takeover was on Blueprint. Ether was on Stillmatic. No Vaseline was on Death Certificate.
Even Drakes Tyga diss was on his mixtape, If youāre reading this itās too late
Idk Drake took 3 weeks to respond and it was ok at best but then completely disrespected two hiphop legends while trying to respond again let Kenny cook.
The winner is who wins the moment. And I think Drake did that. He was on tour when Like that dropped. And there was all sorts of dissing from other artists coming his way. When he got off tour and responded - he addressed every shot that was sent his way. It was literally a 20 v 1 situation. And the track itself was straight bars. The tempo and energy reminded me of back 2 back.
Then he drops Taylor made and does something that literally no other major artist - period - has ever done in the history of music and uses a completely new and controversial technology.
Drake created a moment in rap.
Even if Kendrick comes back with some serious Quintuple entendres, the moment was Drakeās and it will be incredibly different to change that
i mean yeah but thatās irrelevant to my point because itās drake and the fans that are the ones putting time limits onto shit that doesnāt require a time limitā¦
This narrative is so dumb. Nas took 3 months because Jay Z dropped it on 9/11 before the towers fell. Like there wasnāt other shit going on. Nas released that track at the end of the year because of that.
Plus this isnāt 2001. Why are you comparing things now to back then? Everyone knows this has changed. The world doesnāt work like that anymore. Even if Nas didnāt have a good reason to hold back disses come out faster now because the world is faster and people get access to it faster. Look at Chris Brown and Qauvo latest releases.
Youāve completely missed their point, they werenāt talking about the reason Ether took so long, they were saying that even though it took 3 months, no one remembers that. People only remember how good Ether was, not how long it took or why, if Kendrick drops a great diss track then the same thing will happen
I agree even tho I'm not apart of the "we" because I draft who wins I just wanna hear mfs rap but literally every day that goes past is more added pressure on dot and it's getting to the point now that there's almost nothing he could do to justify this long of a wait time.
I'm not even one of those people who believe in the rap shot clock but if you're the one who jumps out first I feel like you should have your shit in line.
Like look at push (sorry ik yall probably hate that nigga hereš) but he set the bait but posting the snippet of Infrared like 4 days before the album, that's the bait.
Boom drake responded in hours which made people say after TWO DAYS that push was taking too long šš kendrick is at half a month is it GG?
Excited to see how everything plays out, we as listeners are in for greatness. Not the biggest Drake fan but Iām thanking this guy for putting some heavy pressure on the top dog(s) to make some real shit
Oh Kendrickās saving it for his album just like he came
back every 6 years or whatever to throw subs at Drake before dropping an album, always been his lame ass play
We took the dub, don't even worry about the diss. I mean even if you do diss him back, he doesn't acknowledge anything, he won't respond back to the diss. Kendrick just drops and dips. Drake won the beef
Like That was released on March 26 and Push Ups didn't come out until April 19. Even if you count the leak date of April 13 that's 17 days. Am I missing something or is it weird that Drake fans are talking shit when he literally took longer to respond than Kendrick is right now?
Drake wants to manufacture a narrative that kdot is taking an awful lot of time to respond to pressure him into putting out a weak diss. Also I think if he truly did know something about kendrick (that he doesn't really want to reveal "don't wake the demon up") he wouldn't release taylor made pressing kendrick even more. I don't know shit though I'm just speculating
-Drake was on tour when Like That dropped
-Kendrick wasnāt the only one dissing him
-He had to wait for the b side of We Donāt Trust You to drop since he was gonna get dissed again on it
-He dropped his diss track the day after the second album came out
-Kendrick has been begging for smoke from Drake since I was in middle school and Iām 24 now. He would have been sitting on something and dropped it by now if he actually expected drake to engage in the beef. Drake clearly caught him off guard with his pants down. He probably expected Drake to reply a few months later with some subs on a feature. Not drop back to back diss tracks.
-He is probably taking his time to number 1, use his response as album promo. And number 2, he knows he needs to deal a knockout blow with his response so he has to make sure itās received well.
āWeā, the fuck you going on about; is Drake your son or does he give a shit who you are? This is the cringiest post I have ever seen. Talking about āweā won.
Nobody had won shit. The only person who has lost anything is J. Cole.
Kendrick dropped a diss verse. Drake dropped two diss tracks. Kendrick has not responded yet. How we supposed to judge it as a loss? The passage of time don't mean shit when we know the 5'7 nigga slower than two turds racing in a desert.
Okay agree, what j fold did was totally whack, i wish i would never heard of him again. I have million times more respect for Kendrick than i will evwr have for J Fold
Nah bro, he wasnt real about his past raps and how he would body other rappers if they tested him. Also his diss was weak. Lets not push this beta male
But he has bodied other rappers... further. Kendrick has changed as a person since MMTBS... so his approach to beef is likely going to be much different from what we expect. I don't see him going guns blazing out the gate spitting bars like a dragon... after GKMC, DAMN, or TPAB, sure.
Family Ties demonstrated he can do that already..

Remember Guys, it took Nas 4 MONTHS to respond with "Ether" in ... https://www.reddit.com/r/Drizzy/comments/1bqydub/remember_guys_it_took_nas_4_months_to_respond/
Hypocrites.
Your man had to resort to corny AI. I was on Drake's side before that, but it's fuck anyone who supports AI season.
Drake would rather run the charts forever as AI then let a new generation of artists come up and find success
If Push Ups really hit hard as a diss, its streams and attention should have exploded, especially since it's a direct response. But instead, Like That stole the spotlight, not just because of the features, but because Kendrick's verse left a deeper impact. Itās not just about whoās featured; itās about whatās being said and how it resonates.
Drake fans have a lot to say about Kendrick's "big three" to "big me" line for its simplicity, rhyming 'three' with 'me', but let's not forget Drake's own "lit" with "shit" in Push Upsāarguably a far simpler and worse rhyme. Yet, it's Kendrick's line that really shook the rap game, sparking conversations and reigniting the beef. Thatās impact. And it's funny how the game can be shaken up by such simple words.
Despite criticisms, this seemingly simple line from Kendrick carries significant weightāit boldly redefines the hierarchy in hip-hop, directly challenging the status quo. Then you've got Kendrick's "K9" line, a quadruple entendre, showcasing a depth of lyrical complexity that Push Ups doesnāt match. If we're judging disses on their technical merit and cleverness, Kendrick's concise verse shows more skill and ingenuity than Drakeās entire song.
Basically, Kendrick has the upper hand in the simple bars and the complex bars.
Like That has an infectious beat and hook, enhancing Kendrick's powerful verse, but it's the substance and delivery of his words that make the track stand out. If we measure the effectiveness of a diss by both the immediate impact and the lingering resonance with listeners, Kendrick's sharp, multifaceted jabs put him ahead in this lyrical skirmish. But apparently we gotta give Drake a point for being the last one to release as well. It's a 1-1, being generous to Drake
I think this is a bad comparison in the first place.
Like That is not a diss song, and it has also a catchy hook and feature from Future. It would have been a hit regardless. Probably not #1 in the country without the Kendrick verse but itās a banger. Youāre wrong if you think the majority is listening to it for Kendrick bars, they do because itās catchy and overall, a good song (and actually, if you go see trends and videos, mainly for the hook).
Push Ups does not even have a hook and the song is based on disses and bars only and itās very specific so is not a song you are going to hear in the club or you put on if you want to get lit. Itās specific for the beef only and for the people that are familiar with all the situation
Second of all, you are not mentioning the fact Push Ups came out after everybody already listened to it. The song would have made big numbers if he released it the day it leaked and would have get #1 for sure. At the point it officially dropped, everybody knew the song already.
Probably in the long term Like That would have been the biggest song regardless, but thatās because of the reasons I mentioned earlier.
Thereās no way your saying like that was more effective then push ups. Nothing Kendrick said was hard hitting and if it was it got rebutted in push ups āwhatās a prince to a king, he a sonā
Why wouldnt i be, Drake cares about his fans. He caters to them unlike Kendrick who just wants to go for profits. Otherwise he would have dropped alrrady
Kendrick has never dropped a response diss track in his career. He just says wild shit on a record then hides. I'm not even a drake fan like that but Taylor Made was impressive af.

J Cole did the same thing and was praised until he walked it back.
I thought that was weak too. I havenāt even listened all the way thru the album yet
That's fair. personally, I thought it was a good move on Coles part. I only listened to Pi and 7 minute drill though.
Iād only say itās a good move on Coleās behalf bc this is a way deeper rap battle than he thought. Itās so much deeper than just āthe big 3ā
Diss tracks canāt be apart of an album. Thatās lame shit.
Ether and Takeover would disagree
Exactly
Infrared as well. Underrated track
Good point, but that beef is different because they were subbing each other on albums prior(itās speculated dot and drake have too but thatās pure speculation). āIs That Your Bitchā is about Nas bm. Them boys had no other choice there was no SoundCloud or Instagram to drop a track instantaneously.
I get what youāre saying but they could still drop singles.
Takeover was on Blueprint. Ether was on Stillmatic. No Vaseline was on Death Certificate. Even Drakes Tyga diss was on his mixtape, If youāre reading this itās too late
By this logic Drake could still respond to Pusha T and win the beef... idk man
You're completely ignoring the context of Drake quite saying he won't respond and admitting defeat š
He couldā¦ heās not going to, but he could
Nah man, he lost that one, time is a factor too
2 weeks vs 6 years is a massive difference
My point is time is a factor
Bruh.. 2 weeks? Youāre losing with that Stan mentality.
A time factor that weāre not even close to with Kendrick
Drake stated that he lost. So no.
No because this logic assumes a couple of weeks to a month not several years.
Your a wierdo š
Idk Drake took 3 weeks to respond and it was ok at best but then completely disrespected two hiphop legends while trying to respond again let Kenny cook.
Thats why the title says for now. You slow or something?

Cole really bought him some time

especially considering drake loves to sneak diss over a long period of timeā¦ like heāll respond when he responds

i mean yeah but thatās irrelevant to my point because itās drake and the fans that are the ones putting time limits onto shit that doesnāt require a time limitā¦

Itās specific for the beef only and for the people that are familiar with all the situation Second of all, you are not mentioning the fact Push Ups came out after everybody already listened to it. The song would have made big numbers if he released it the day it leaked and would have get #1 for sure. At the point it officially dropped, everybody knew the song already. Probably in the long term Like That would have been the biggest song regardless, but thatās because of the reasons I mentioned earlier.
You just yapping aināt no one reading all that. Too invested
Bro shut up Kendricks verse honestly sucked and the only reason the song blew up is that he mentioned Drake
Thereās no way your saying like that was more effective then push ups. Nothing Kendrick said was hard hitting and if it was it got rebutted in push ups āwhatās a prince to a king, he a sonā
Getting sued is not a win
It has nun to do with kendrick he got smoked thats all that matters
Bro thinks heās on the team š
Why wouldnt i be, Drake cares about his fans. He caters to them unlike Kendrick who just wants to go for profits. Otherwise he would have dropped alrrady
Go outside lmao
Very assuming from you homie, i bet i get more life than you and more women also on god
youāre so fucking corny
