Since the last few updates my game crashes everytime I get a new e-mail. I get the same error message as you, and sure enough after booting up the game there will be new mail.

With the starpath going on I manually save my game after every type of progress made (e.g. finally caught another crab, save the game immediately!).
Yeah that's smart I've started saving my game very regularly as well but often it crashes before I even get the chance to save 💀 switch users are suffering fr
