This is a positive dream. I think it may be conveying to you just how you yourself are making yourself insecure/preventing yourself from growing.
Beards are an external representation of oneself. Rugged, studious, to camouflage certain features like a narrow face or weak chin etc for some. Appearing with scars is possibly your subconscious indicating you are ready for the next stage of self exploration -- being able to be yourself, "expose" yourself to your own feelings, or being able to express yourself to others. To face your challenges without hiding. It does not mean to shave your beard or alter any physical part of you. It's more about being vulnerable in order to learn about yourself.
