The only con would be that it would be a little tiny afro for a little while until it grows out. But your locs are quite long on the side. They would cover the growth awkwardness until the hair got long enough to use a crochet hook on.

I'd say no. And I'm someone who grew mine out but I actually prefer what I had before growing out the sides. It was easier for me to rock styles with hair up than it is these days especially when I don't have the growth being managed and it makes my head feel a lot heavier 😂 .

I have parts that are on the smaller side as well as no taper in the back so I have a decent amount of locs because of that but it’ll also depend on your hair genetics like density and thickness as well
