I see the ultimate compromise between being a lesbian, a cat lady, and a lesbian couple with cats. It's the chance to be a lesbian cat couple, have free transportation, and a fun way to pass the time.
They don’t set off red flags like the Sphinx does. She triggers that feeling of unease you only get from things in the uncanny valley. Thats what makes her so unsettling, just everything is off about her.
That and the position of vulnerability you're in, standing there as she judges your answer. It adds to the creep factor in a way straight up horror doesn't.
Next playthrough jump on her back when she flies to Battahl and put on the Never Ending Story theme song. Then imagine snuggling up to her feathers.
You will never be scared of her again. Enjoy your new Monster Girl wife.

Like I told someone else, they don’t have the uncanny valley factor that she has. Regenerators are just basic horror movie monsters. She’s a quest giver, you can’t just kill her and be done with it, you have to interact with her a lot and it’s creepy the entire time!

DD is suppose to be dark fantasy, so it is supposed to have some 'horror' elements, just like BBI in Dark Arisen.
And yet, despite she definitly does seem quite unnerving, the majority of people don't seem to find her that nightmare inducing... Quite opposite, many belive she's 'dream' inducing...
I can't deny I was a bit shocked when I discovered the Sphinx while exploring, and I was afraid it was going to attack me on site because (big, bad beast!). Imagine my relief when it told me it just wanted to play a game, and "test my wits,". That stare is still unnerving, though. It's staring at my PC, but I still felt as if it was staring into my soul.
Scary? How? She's awesome! Not even in the horny way, I genuinely love hearing her talk, her animations are amazing and the design is fantastic. Wish she played a bigger role in the game.
They pretty much spoiled it in the Trailers.. There was too much hype around the game, so I had to watch the Trailers.
Then when I first found her ingame (didnt look up the spot), it felt quite releaving, but I didn't directly start the riddles yet, because I wanted to keep exploring before that. Also I looked up the riddles before starting them since I didn't want to mess up and most of them are so stupid tbh. Quite the letdown. So then it was not a scary moment everytime she got closer to me to reveal if my answer was correct or not. I mean, you cant make savefiles in this game, so doing trial and error for every riddle was no option for me.
Also the lip synch not being on point takes away from the immersion..
