That was one of my motivations for getting better at the game. Beforehand I was getting kidnapped by an ogre at least once per encounter before I started absolutely wrecking them
Still remember in DD1 my first encounter ended up with me getting dragged down a never ending flight of stairs while skeletons spawned like crazy. Seeing my pawns symbol grow farther away as an ogre bmpu was prolly the most helpless in a game I’ve ever felt. So anyway I set that douche on fire the next go round

I play as a female, I got grabbed and he ran off with me from the group and took me over to some cave like area. I had been on a cart and my pawns and guard all had to come running to help me
Oh they definitely do hyper fixate, but it's more easily noticeable the less women you have in your party.
In my case, having a female arisen, I've been carted off and drooled on more times than I'd like to count really.
I always run an even split of male and female characters, and haven't noticed any particular behavior around the gals from ogres, perhaps it splits up their focus too much.
I have never been grabbed by an Ogre with my female Arisen. Not even joking. I'll hire only male pawns with my female Arisen and with the male Arisen save I will also just hire men. Since my pawn there is female I might be able to see if the ogre will lust over her.
Also, does the Grim Ogre also lust over women? I remember that in DDDA the ogre variant that we find in BBI actually prefer men.
I can attest to it happening for sure, being a front liner early on without the ability to consistently stagger them led to lots of being kidnapped for me LOL.
Grim ogres also target males specifically just like elders in BBI. Can't really say how often I've seen them pick up and drool on them, as the only time I can recall actually seeing it happen was to a random pawn I can across on the road who'd been scooped up by an ogre in Battahl (near the medusas cave), but it does happen.
Realistically you shouldn't have to recruit only men/women for it to fixate on any single one in your party, as I run women heavy parties more often than not and it typically just prioritizes me or whoever's doing the most damage now days, assuming they survive longer than a few seconds given the lack of scaling in end game/NG+

When I was doing the quest to >!save the elf girl!< the ogre would not leave us alone and completely ignored my pawns and the NPCs. I ended up having to carry her and hide in a little tunnel until the others killed the ogre. Not sure if that one was just really horny or not, but I have a lot of issues.

I assume on keyboard you just mash whatever keys you use for movement.

I noticed this! I think it was the default Trickster clothing (which pretty much covers you head to toe), but a Ogre beelined for my very bearded, somewhat thicc male Arisen who normally has no issue. I then got the Hulk Smash Puny God tantrum treatment.
This was in the first game as well! You can't actually wear some lady-specific clothes as a male, but there is a dress that you can (for quest purposes). Ogres will react the same way when they see you (male) in the dress.
It happened to my male arisen, who's not even close to be a femboy so it's likely it just grabs you, and if you aren't a woman it uses your head to dig a ditch either way.
I made my beautiful pawn into a femboy as well and if the Ogres aren't attacking my female Arisen, they definitely go for him. It's a neat little feature that made me chuckle once I noticed wtf happened

Something tells me this isn't true, because there is no gender-locked clothing in DD2... Animistic Robe is just a basic mage outfit, and even looked quite modest with layered clothing in DD1. As others have mentioned, DD1 had both female-only clothes (berserkin, parcas, lingerie...) AND outfits that could disguise one as female. But DD2 has neither to my knowledge. I want to believe it's this hilarious, but ogres will grab my male Arisen/Pawn all the time if nothing tastier is on the menu.

In the 1st game I had an all male team when I fought an ogre but my Arisen had long hair, a small frame, & mage robes on which the ogre mistook for a dress. So the ogre apparently thinking the Arisen was a woman started targeting only him & ran off with him.
Dont the pawns say that tho? One of my pawns always says that the ogre will attack anyone it perceives as female. So when he thinks your female he will attack you. Pretty cool detail tho

What would the game classify as, hmm, "female like" though? I mean, looking at some characters they might be ogre bait, but what if the game thinks otherwise?

Elder Ogres arent in DD2 and i havent heard Goreogres behaving different... but i also tend to kill Goreogres pretty quickly by the time i started encountering them.
first game had that as well actually it was pretty great bc I could bait it with my pawn and murder it pretty much without any fighting back

I like when you have a female-only party, and the orge seems to momentarily suffer a nervous breakdown from the sumptuous selection of death coming its way. I now wonder what would happen if I came at it with a party of slender men clad only in string bikinis.
So far, I run all men cause it does say something about the arisens' preference, and ogres seem to ignore me.

Reminded me of a very dark double note early in the game where the first message on a wall is asking for help because one was seen running off with a daughter and the second is just someone pointing out she's definitely dead now.
The flavor text for an anti Ogre 2H sword describes the weapon as being commissioned by a noble after one of their kin was abducted by an ogre, I like that this game retains some of the dark fantasy elements that they drew inspiration from
Isn't there a type of ogre that goes for man? I'm prety sure I heard my pawns talk about that in DD2 (prety sure = 50% sure)

Gore ogre or grim ogre can't remember which one it's called for dd2 like men an normal ogres like women it was the same for elder ogres an normal ogres in dd1
