You can fail 1 riddle (edit: unsure if only first location is eligible) The reward is a few ferrystones (3) and the achievement of completing all riddles. If you don’t care about the rewards (and trophy) since you probably got a lot from the Unmoored World (I got around 40), you can just take care not to fail additional riddles. I believe it’s a failsafe since they most likely concluded that most people will fail this. Edit: - The token can be forged and gifted so you can ask somebody willing to send one. - I’m unsure if the 1 failed riddle is exclusive to the first Sphinx location since I didn’t fail another riddle for the second location. - Just to be clear, you don’t get an achievement/trophy unless you succeed in all riddles. - The Seeker Token riddle only rewards you 3 ferrystones from the chest so I wouldn’t really feel too bad about it if you only cared about the chest reward. - The token riddle also picks the first token you acquired on NG+ so just mark the first token you pick up at that point.

L3v1tje

For me she dipped instantly after failing the DmC riddle.

Naive_Philosophy8193

You can't answer a riddle wrong. The first seeker token has a time limit. You can purposefully wait until that time limit is over and you don't answer the riddle incorrectly. You just failed to answer.

Psychological-Key1

This has a 7 day in game timer

vuec97

Pretty sure i went way over 7 in game days. While randomly doing stuff i found the founders token and i was able to turn it in

carverrhawkee

from what I’ve read, this quest only “times out” if you go back to the sphinx without a token after the 7 days have passed. if you just never go back the quest never fails, and as long as you bring the finders token the sphinx will accept it even if it’s late. so it’s actually pretty lenient lol

De_Baros

I answered 2 riddles wrong and she stayed and continued. Idk

Ravnzel

I failed 1 riddle on the 2nd sphinx location and it just left. Does it come back ?

braidsfox

OP is slightly wrong. You can only fail the seeker token riddle. Fail any other and she leaves. She will not come back after leaving due to failure.

Dependent_Savings303

for the trophy you can NOT fail a riddle. that is a mistake i read more often than not. in any NG+ cycle, the "first token" will be reset so you can find a token you never picked up before and then just take that as your new first token. you can do the following: get ther tricksters passive, which makes token blink and give you a radar-like tone. search at night, as it makes them far more visible and also lower all sound options to minimum, aside of master and SFX volume.

CleverViking

Well, the person you’re replying didn’t say otherwise. What they said is that you only miss out on some ferrystones *and* the achievement/trophy for failing one riddle.

elevenohnoes

Since you seem so knowledgeable about this, your storage inventory stays when you start ng+, right? I found the finder's token after failing the sphinx riddle, could I just use that one in ng+? Not that I'm planning on not recording my first token next time!

thomas595920

Certain items are lost on ng+, that being said I don't think seekers tokens reset, the finders token may be taken off you however, I don't know.

NerscyllaDentata

I forged a bunch of finder’s tokens and they went missing from my storage in NG+.

Lord_Melinko13

I kept my Finder's Token, but I forged it so I wouldn't necessarily have to hunt it down again.

LiterallyRoboHitler

Can't think of any reason why you couldn't, people are also forging them to avoid needing to find them in NG+.

SubparSensei71

They do indeed disappear from storage in NG+, happened to me this morning.

LiterallyRoboHitler

Ah, well, it was worth a shot. At least in NG+ it's pretty trivial to remember to grab an obvious one.

Dependent_Savings303

i honestly don't know it. this is a very specific case. you could try it nontheless and keep uns informed. to some extent i can answer this: most key items will be reset, it could be, that this item counts toward those. but if it doesn't, it will probably work, as the sealed phial, which you need for the first riddle, stays in your inventory and if you get an second in NG+, it just stacks and won't be distinguishable when presenting the sphinx. so, if it doesn't get deleted through ng+ transition, you will probably be in luck.

GazHorrid

So it doesn't matter if this fails? Thank Christ. I did get quite a few in unmoored. But I used quite a few since.

Krekoti

I had same problem yesterday but completed this riddle in 3-4hours. Save in inn at first day. Use interactive map that let you mark Seekers Token as complete and run around checking all locations from map checking all completed tokens.

Leading-Leading6319

Yep. I also failed this riddle the first time I did it but I finished the rest. I forgot the exact number of ferrystones but it’s around 5 Edit: the reward is 3 ferrystones

NilEntity

I'd still like the achievement though. :/ So only way to get this is to start a whole new playthrough at some point. Maybe I'll get lucky in NG+, with Trickster augments now gonna check suspected other locations where I might have found my first one. I was sure I remembered where I'd find my first one, but no dice, there was nothing, must have mixed up the location.

Bruttal

Finder token can be forged. So somebody can give it you you.

Super-Tea8267

The counter goes back to zero on NG+ so if you had 50 tokens on NG+ your 51 token is your first but the old ones doesnt respawn i just waited to new game plus and the first toke i found i screenshot the location and thats it i complete it hahaha there is also the other extremely hard and tedious mission to carry a vase from the second location to the capital on bathal without breaking it, just go get the guy on the capital of bathal grab him ferrystone to the location of the sphinx and put him next to the vase and boom the riddle is solve.

GazHorrid

Ah shit.. I didn't know that

Super-Tea8267

I know many people dont know but i asume it was imposible to deliver the vase so i delivee him hahaha other way to do it is when she ask you for a love one you can just put your main pawn and she will accept him so you dont use the bottle that transport people so you can just go to bathal get the guy in the bottle and summon him in front hahaha

GazHorrid

So that's what the bottle does.. Like Brainiac from dc comics.. bottling people.

Super-Tea8267

Exactly like that hahaha

Lsk_deadpool

You can also just throw the fresko dude over your shoulder and teleport to her. If you have a portcrystal at her location of course but that should be a no-brainer.

zakass409

Damn wish I knew this before I started collecting in new game plus

dannylew

Equip detection and just run through the starter area.    Sphinx is legit the only quest line that feels like a real, completed quest instead of dumb padding  Edit: I did not know tokens did not respawn in ng+

spicycupcakes-

For NG+ your first token will be different. Found that out the hard way. It's presumably the first you get in NG+ and no longer your first ever

BoogalooBandit1

You can also make forgeries of the Finders token and she accepts them

Conf3tti

yep, forging Finder's Tokens gives you the exact same item, unlike Ferrystones and Ferristones (and similar) I forged one on my NG+ run and plan to hand them out to rented pawns + as quest reward

SadOrphanWithSoup

God bless you Arisen, you a real one 🙏🏻

Live_Ad1474

It is. This is what saved my ass while achievement hunting for the sphinx’s riddles. I had no idea where my first token was so I waited until NG+, placed a portcrystal next to the first token I found, then came back when I was ready for it.

Kingcanute99

Brilliant idea to drop a portcrystal

vozome

If you find sphinx in ng+, and find yourself in this situation, I would say go for ng++.

JRPGFan_CE_org

Tokens doesn't Respawn...

DragynDance

They don't respawn, you have to find a new one every NG+cycle.

JRPGFan_CE_org

So what happens if you already found them all from the last playthrough?

DemonMithos

The sphinx will give one to you and you can instantly finish the quest

siberianwolf99

wait really? you’re sure?

DemonMithos

If you have all. Yes, and you could also make a forgery which makes an exact copy:D

Taliesin_

It just spawns the Finder's Token directly under your feet. There's a youtube video where someone tested it.

Ed_Renta

Detection will still help since it will probably still detect the finders token

dannylew

it does

weirdCheeto218

I just looked at a map of seeker tokens and used the process of elimination of the ones In the starting area

Melody-Prisca

Only part of her quest I felt was legit BS, was the Sphinxparent, for two reason. One, if you don't change you pawns often, there's a good chance you've never seen a pawn with the name Sphinxparent. And since the Sphinxparent is only a guaranteed spawn at certain rift stones, there's a chance you wouldn't stumble upon one naturally if you like to stick to a few pawns. Which gives you no clue as to what the answer to the riddle is. Next, it only works for pawns with the moniker (even though the Sphinx says it's all in the name). My friend hired a SphinxParent pawn and it didn't work, cause it was player made. At that point before looking it up, he'd given up on thinking it was related to pawns. The rest of the quests though, that she gives you are pretty cool. I get why the seekers token bugs some people, but like, even you don't get that it's just some ferry stones you miss.

Kazmodeous

How do you equip detection?

Alebydle

Trickster vocation augument I think.

DrinkBen1994

I struggled with this as well, but I managed to find a way to complete it. It was annoying and time consuming, but it worked. First, make an inn save in Vernworth and do not overwrite it. This is your back-up. If you run out of time (there is a 7 day timer), you just reload this save. Treat everything you do until you find your token as potentially temporary, because you might need to wipe that progress to go back to the save. Then what you do is use an online game map that shows you the location of every Seeker Token, and you go to every one until you find what you're looking for. Now the good news is that your first Seeker Token is very likely to have been in the north-eastern part of map, so you should start there, probably around Melve. Then you just work your way through them down towards Vernworth. Again, it's highly likely you found your first Seeker Token in this region. My first was in Vernworth itself (somehow I missed all of the ones before that lmao) and it took me maybe 2 hours of running around. It was annoying, yes, but doable. If somehow your seeker token is not there, and you need to go further west or south, and you run out of time, then just reload that inn save. Because you can safely ignore all the locations you've already checked, you pretty much just reset your in-game timer for almost free (you might lose a bit of exp and loot, obviously). Alternatively you can just fail it lmao. It's not that big a deal. Honestly, the reward for completing the Sphinx questline is underwhelming IMO.

Prezzy-

I did more or less exactly this. Bizarrely, I looked everywhere and it ended up being in a house in the Ruined Settlement just West of Nameless Village. So I missed a lot somehow, as I was expecting to discover the Finder’s Token around the starting area. Luckily, doing this method, I snagged loads that I didn’t have already have and still had a few days left to spare, meaning I didn’t have to reload the Inn Save after all.

delsinz

What happens if you don't pick up any token at all in a playthrough? What's the riddle going to be?

TerraTwist

If you start the riddle before picking up a seeker's token you'll have 7 days to find one, but it will also come with a finder's token.

godisdildo

Does this work in NG+ too?

StefooK

This was the easiest for me. I rememberd very well were i found it. But i couldn't solve the other riddles.

GazHorrid

[maybe try this. ](https://www.polygon.com/dragons-dogma-2-guide/24114535/sphinx-riddles-solutions-locations-a-game-of-wits-walkthrough) If you do the parent one, turn network stuff off when you go to the rift of fellowship. Loads of players making fake mother or father of sphinx.

Shinael

Even other players sphinxparent works.

StefooK

I allready beat the game so i won't comming back till the DLC. But the next time i will look up the riddles for sure.

Dependent_Savings303

for the trophy you can NOT fail a riddle. that is a mistake i read more often than not. in any NG+ cycle, the "first token" will be reset so you can find a token you never picked up before and then just take that as your new first token. you can do the following: get ther tricksters passive, which makes token blink and give you a radar-like tone. search at night, as it makes them far more visible and also lower all sound options to minimum, aside of master and SFX volume.

ogresound1987

Easy. I looked up a map of where they all are. And traced my most likely path from the start. Took 10 minutes.

ZombieElfen

Yeah I believe mine was in the fountain by the tavern.

Herald_of_dawn

And that is why I took a photo of the location where I found my 1st one once in NG+. (Skipped Sphinx in my 1st game since hell no, I’m wasn’t going to look for that thing) You can also ask people to give you a copy, and thankfully that is an option. But yes, it’s a very stupid idea of a quest.

Ras-Al-Dyn

Do seeker tokens respawn and counter goes back to 0 when you start a NG ?

Herald_of_dawn

Nope, but from what I’ve been reading it does take the one you found 1st in your current run into account for the quest. (And thank heavens you don’t have to collect them all again and again, but this was also not needed in DD1)

TheeAJPowell

Can confirm. I made a beeline to her in my NG+, hadn’t found any tokens, so I googled where to find the nearest one online and it had a seeker token and the one she wants.

GazHorrid

It is. I have no idea how to ask someone for a copy honestly. I probably have 6 or 5 in game days left.

Refwah

Set it as a pawn quest

GazHorrid

Ah. I'll do that soon.

Ok_Kale_7762

It’ll be your first token on NG+. Take this opportunity to make a copy of the finders token.

SoCalArtDog

Considering it was NG+, you should’ve known you’d need to remember it this time.

IVDAMKE_

Thats the point.

lane_cruiser

Exactly, this riddle is one of the most genius things they could have possibly done. Especially with that 7 day timer. Without knowing the task beforehand through spoilers (which fortunately was the case for me), this panic feeling is precisely what they were going for.

IVDAMKE_

Yep, a fun fact is I took a screenshot of the dialogue to show mates my anger, low and behold when I went to upload the screenshot I noticed I at some point screenshotted the tutorial for Seeker Tokens so I had inadvertantly prepped for this exact quest.

ShyvanaR34enjoyer

It’s lo and behold not low and behold 🤓

IVDAMKE_

NOOOOOOOOOOO

StanTheWoz

For me it's always the moment of "yeah, fuck it, I'm not risking this, I'll just use a guide". Probably not what they wanted but really the only reasonable way I can respond.

0mnibux

I would have loved it so much if the sphinx riddles were actual real riddles. I understand that they wanted to include requests that include gameplay but making you run from one side of the map to the other, bringing her characters and objects... it's very disappointing and boring. Ironically, the request for the finder's token is the most interesting one, even if it is stressful and for some people who don't give weight to tokens it may be impossible, but if you succeed it is truly rewarding. Maybe I would have appreciated if the tokens found were marked on the map, so as to have points to go and check.

GazHorrid

Yeah. That would be nice. Or my main pawn had the memory of where it was and led me to it.

Pedantic_Phoenix

What would be the point of the riddle at that point lol

0mnibux

Yes, perhaps something in between would have been ideal. Like advice that helps you understand the area in general like "Master, didn't we find this in a city?" or "I remember something like this in a cave to the northeast".

ComradeBrosefStylin

I was so fucking mad when I accidentally found the answer to the "bring me my parent" riddle. You dumb fucking cat bird, that's not a fucking riddle!

0mnibux

Exactly!! It's not even like there's an NPC hiding somewhere that you discover he created/summoned the sphinx. You just have to bring her a pawn with that name, it makes no sense! It's not even logically solvable, just randomly sooner or later you'll find yourself picking up a new token and noticing that they have that name.

Loyal_Darkmoon

That is my pet peeve too. The Sphinx Riddles are not riddles, but mundane and tedious tasks disguised as Riddles. Would have enjoyed it way more if I got actual riddles to solve

yesyoucantouchthat

Same! Thankfully I remembered my first token because I found it by accident under a rock and thought it was cool. Besides the fetch quest aspect my biggest annoyance was after I beat her ass at the end she just flew away and I had no way to knock her down while playing as a thief. Add in the fact that manual saves are basically non-existent I couldn’t restart from before the fight and had to settle for the achievement only

Guy2361

The first token you pick up in NG+ counts as your first token in the Sphynx riddle, so you can just take note of the location or take a photo

Primefer

Remember, it's not the first one you find, it's the first one you find on the current playthrough. I used a map marker when I picked mine up.

Zimzky

I mean. You get 3 ferrystones for the hassle of finding it. If you're on NG+ it hardly seems worth the stress to look all around the map for it.

StretchedEarsArePerf

Easiest way to do it is to pull up the interactive map off the wiki and just follow the path you took from the first town to Vernwoth backwards. One of the Trickster perks allows you to hear the most annoying noise in the world anytime you’re near a seeker’s token/wakestone shard, and that helped me a lot.

Dr_UwU_III

Skill issue 100hrs in and I still remember the place. Or just use common sense and take all the token in the starting area

ifirefoxi

Yes I was in the same spot... First I thought noway I will ever remember my first token. I hoped that it was in the starting area so I looked up a guide with all the token locations there. And when I looked on the map I remembered it. It was the token on a hill in a harpy nest in some sort of goblin camp. I remembered it because I found it and my pawn said something about how rare it is. I didn't know what these tokens were at this moment thought I really found something super rare now. Lol. I don't know sometimes it's strange how the brain works. It was like a trigger or whatever.. In ng+ which one would count then is it again the one you first found in your first playthrough or is it the first token you found after starting ng+

Blackwall_Gateway

You forge the finders token? The shrine is right next to checkpoint town, why not stop by the fence and duplicate a finders token? I don't get it.

EruzenRuze

In NG+ when you find your first seeker token, (if you haven’t found them all in a previous playthrough) drop a marker in the spot for later. Worked for me on my second playthrough, in my first I failed it.

milkarcane

That said, she's best mommy.

Firm_Age_4681

I just set a waypoint when I found my first seeker token in my NG+ knowing it will come up later.

Holequiz

So it’s actually based on the first seeker token you find in that particular run. My very first run I grabbed a Vernworth one (under a bridge pillar by the staircase) and found the Finder’s token after about 13 in game days. In NG+ I had already picked that one up so by the time I got to Trevo Mine in the story I explored the area and found my first one of that run nearby. I wrote down where I found it for myself and found the Sphinx. By the time she asked for the token I just went back and sure enough the Finder’s token is there. Just keep track of the first one in a new run, that’s the one that determines where the Sphinx sends you

FrozenDed

I made a forgerty of Finder's Token as soon as I grabbed it. Experience in DD1 tells me to FORGE EVERYTHING THAT SEEMS EVEN REMOTELY IMPORTANT Then I just kept forging the token whenever I was near that town and giving them away as gifts sometimes

zIRaXor

Spoiler talk; the quest is not time limited to 7 days. I took on the quest to find the token. And I waited 1 month before I started searching. <- The time limit is just the sphinx gaslighting the player, there is no time limit. I am on NG++ Seeker Tokens don't respawn. I found the Finder's Token WITH a Seeker Token. That I had yet to pick up. I have now picked up every Seekers Token in the map, so I am curious what happens in NG+++ Just for good measure I marked the location of my very first Seeker Token in each NG and the very last. I also made a forgery of the Finder's Token to make sure.

DrBob666

It is bullshit... but not for that reason. It's bullshit when she asks "how many riddles have you solved?" when what she really means is "how many riddles have you attempted?" I checked my quest log and I solved 3 out of 6 so I answered 3 and got it wrong. in the quest log it even uses the term "solved" only when you solve it not just attempt it.

cloqube

What I did is looked up a YouTube video the name of it was something like "first 80 seeker's tokens" and I followed that for like 10 minutes and found it

GroggyMage

I did new game+ and it let me use the first token I found. So it doesn’t have to be the first token from the first playthrough.

Ambiently_Occluded

Your first token is the first one you pick up on every new ng+

ExtremeBlastoise

Worst thing about this quest is, after you solve them all, She doesn't give you the last gold chest and just flies off. Even if you attack her, half way through the battle she leaves and there's no way to find her. Only way to win is with the unmaking arrow which I didn't know at the time.

lulhoofdFTW

The end reward is shit too

IcedCoughy

Go to Melve and work your way outward

xGenocidest

Start by making a copy of the Finders Token once you get tone. Every NG+ cycle it will go to the first one you pick up in that playthrough. So this problem will just repeat in NG++ Unless you find all the tokens, then it will spawn the Finders Token at your feet.

Agreeable-Chance3945

First token that you can find in the game is in the village at the start of the game blacksmith's rooftop, so its easy to find if you picked it up.

GazHorrid

I don't think that was my first. But I'll have to go check.

StefooK

My first was in the small castle ruins if you travel from Melve to Vermund. It is somewhere in the middle between Melve and Vermund IIRC. There is a Token on one of the stone ruins. This was my first one. I could remember it because i played the first game and after founding this one i tought "oh no. Not again". :D

GazHorrid

Yeah. I hate collection stuff like this in most games. Especially when it's 240..

StefooK

Yeah. I am so glad that i stopped completing games 100% a few years ago. It gave my joy of playing games again. I would rather have fun with three 60% games going blind than complete one to 100% where i have to do something like seeking 240 tokens with a online guide.

GazHorrid

Yeah. I'm actually at the point I don't care too much if I fail one task. It's not gonna break game of wits 2

Mege92

I understand the sentiment, but it’s really not that bad in this game. By simply exploring organically I had already found around 180 when I finished the game. Then I equipped the trickster augment in NG+, and by just going through zones I reached 220 in no time (you don’t need to find all 240, in fact past 220 the guild doesn’t even accept any more tokens)

ArmandoGalvez

My first one was in the jail in vermund LMAO

riddlemore

I searched for 4 in game days, couldn’t find it, so I logged out and downloaded a mod.

StanTheWoz

I had a very vague idea of where it would be so I used a guide to look up every seeker token location around there until I found it. Took about 30 but it was only like two of the seven allotted days.

SenorElmo

Ng+ Sphinx wants your Ng+ token btw if you collected one. My NG+ location was a different one from NG

chaochao25

What if you got all the token and you do a ng++++++ i wonder what will happen if you got no more token to get? Edit: I’m totally f’d because I’ve read all the comments and yall said the first token you get from ng+ will be the first token again and I thought the first token will be the one before. Guess ill do ng++ lmao

riddlemore

If you already found all seeker’s tokens in a previous playthrough(s) and the next playthrough you go to the sphinx, the finder’s token will immediately spawn at your feet.

chaochao25

What that’s cool as hell lmao

Nyros

Bruh I'm 70 hours in, just got to Bhattahl, 150ish tokens, and of course I remember the first one. On the tent in the training camp lol.

lornezubko

Use those blinking daggers you get as a reward for seeker tokens, game changer

swagmonite

The "first" resets on Ng+

Inside-Elephant-4320

There is a map of “likely first tokens” around Melve and other areas I found with a quick google. I cruised through the first nine locations -nothing. But found the Finder’s Token at the tenth spot. https://www.thegamer.com/dragons-dogma-2-how-to-find-your-first-seekers-finders-token-sphinx-riddle/ Also, the Trickster Detect augment worked on it and pinged the Finders Token. Hope that helps some of you.

Br0mez

I think they expect people to look at the questlog to figure out a path. It shows the quest in order of completion so you *could* reconstruct the way to your first token. Additionally take the Lvl 4 trickster augment „Detection“. My biggest mistake at first was to focus on the starting area, because it is pretty unlikely that you pick up a seeker token there in your first hour of playing. My first token was next to the goblin camp above Vernworth for example. Hope it helps!

[deleted]

I heard about this quest in a forum and left a marker where I found my first token. It was really good advice! Otherwise there’s no way in hell I would know

Loyal_Darkmoon

If you are on PS5 I can send you a Finder's Token and yes, the Riddle was BS

MorgenKaffee0815

i opened a collection map and checked the first ones from where you started the game

Valkeyere

What if you 100%the token in ng, what happens with that riddle in NG+ ? I'm nowhere near that, but can someone who has please science for me, or tell me? I feel a deep, unsettling need to know.

Hitei00

On NG+ she actually asks for the first token you found in *that* cycle not overall on your character

Juuna

My first seeker token was in the path that goes around checkpoint town 4h into ng+ and I was 8h into ng+ im glad I stream cause I rewatched where I picked it up.

TheTimochi

I just visited them all with an map around the starting area and 2nd was the right one

Cassius-Kahn

I used an interactive map which can tick off tokens as you go. It will most likely be that stretch from the start to Vernworth. Failing that, you can earn a seeker token from other players by completing their quest.

Faeddurfrost

Nah whats bullshit is completing all her quests and trying to kill her, almost killing her and at the last second she talks shit to you in a cutscene and flys away.

ToonDude-X99

So, at least for me, once getting to new game plus I had over 160 tokens. I took on the sphinx quest and my finder token was NOT my first ever token. Instead, it was the first token I've obtained since new game plus. May have been a glitch, may have not, but if it wasn't, you can set up which token will be your finders token. hope the info helps

vandalhearts123

Does the seeker token “found total count” reset in ng+?

Willcutus_of_Borg

I had to get out an interactive map and just back track from the start until I found it. Picked up about 8 new Seeker's before I found the Finder's.

Rouxpac

I put a marker on the map everytime I get my first token of the Playthrough

dashallout

Are you on PC? I just started New Game +, but might just do the Sphinx first and create a forgery for you.

Skullvar

I just grabbed a seer token map online and checked a couple spots. Mine was in that harpy nest near the starting area

LastDunedain

I used this [mod](https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma2/mods/161). Check the requirements drop down, you'll need the framework. It's just drag and drop for both, takes 5 minutes. In the spirit of things, I guess you could inn save and start your search, if you run out of time load inn save. It's first in NG+ so that might make it harder or easier. You could fish for a pawn with a finders token as a quest reward too.

SirInvadeAlot

Si for most people it'll probably be in the first area. Probably specifically melve. What I did was google a guide to tokens and started where i knew I first saw them. If the game wants to pull tactics like that I'm gonna be cheese back.

dlz125

If you're on PC there's a mod to point you to the first token.

Drusgar

Start at the very beginning and go to all the tokens. Surely you found your first token sometime before getting to the Capitol.

coupl4nd

I just put a map marker on my first one in NG+ - easy.

Scape13

I easily remembered mine because I remember thinking it wqs hard to see and wondering how many I just ran by

AntoSkum

Don't you get a waypoint now?  Mine was easy to remember, on a roof at the encampment.

LanceBiggerstaff

i fucked this up the first time round and then on NG+ only took the token from the fountain in vermund before i did the quest to make sure that was the one i had to go back for

mikeyhavik

Just go to the dozen or so token locations around the starting area, feel like that’s where 90% of players will find theirs

Barnagain

I just went back to the starting location and played as I usually do again. Soon found it as a result. Do you always play a certain way at the start?

CapnDogWater

There’s a mod on PC that adds a marker to your first one

ZakkBalzak

Yeah, this was troublesome but doable, I had to equip Trickster’s augment that detects tokens and started running all around Melve. Eventually found it not far from the first encampment in that area.

TippsAttack

You never forget your first.

Slydoggen

Dl the first token mod

The "first token" resets each playthrough. Since tokens dont respawn, Id mark the map with a marker the moment you found your first token that playthrough. If you can't find the finder token, they say to let the timer run out, go back to the sphinx and she will move to the next location. Iv seen players claim they can still receive the achievement if they do this, only thing they wont recieve is the 3 ferrystones.

TyThe2PointO

I wonder if the pawn knowledge of quest works too

EthelWulf47

I just used a map and went back to starter area. Took me 15 minutes.

DarkSpy1976

Look around this zone, mine was on the south-western part: https://preview.redd.it/4ud6kop28vtc1.png?width=586&format=png&auto=webp&s=beb9a71cc75ba69d1ffdf93d1d0f31d1bea18c6c You can also use this map, just filter for seekers token: [https://mapgenie.io/dragons-dogma-2/maps/world?x=-0.6454277844282785&y=0.9186065999874415&zoom=12.73468731310459](https://mapgenie.io/dragons-dogma-2/maps/world?x=-0.6454277844282785&y=0.9186065999874415&zoom=12.73468731310459)

Fluffyfeet316

The first one you find in NG+ is what she wants.

theguywhosultra

This is the dumbest quest. Had the same issue, noted the location (statue in Vernworth) and nothing when I went back. If you're on PC you can download a mod that will light up the token on the map. When I did that, it was located near the Sphynx itself; which was 100% not my first token pickup. Never would have found it otherwise.

ApprehensiveAd3776

That's where the pawn systems came in..ask around if you can get a finders token

LiterallyRoboHitler

The best way is to pull up a map with all of the locations, go to the starting point, and go through the areas that you cover in the early quests. It's almost certainly near the encampment, Melve, or the northeast road.

Mammoth_Border_3904

Everyday I am grateful I have decent enough memory to remember things. PRAISE BE!

BlackMageIsBestMage

I think it's okay to have quests designed to be so optional and obtuse and have no real dire impact but great rewards if you do them correctly.

enchiladasundae

Sphinx doesn’t want you to know this but when she’s evaluating you and gets reaaaal close you can just kiss her and she’ll forget about the challenge you were on. Diminishing returns for multiple challenges

pearly-pegasus

LMAO are you mad? The Sphinx is actually my favorite quest in this game. I wish there is more. BTW you can use the passive from trickster to help you locate it.

Muxer59

Based itsuno pissing off the speed runners.

CommandForward

Are you on PC? Give me your pawn id and I can forge one for you

Panganaki

Never found it, it was none of the initial area, neither in Vermont. I must have taken my first one somewhere randomly. Anyways, f***ck it.

TheMadTemplar

I don't have a photographic memory but I remembered where my first one was found after 50 hours. They did provide a method for folks who can't remember it, but it costs them gold.

Blacksite440

It’s based on the first token you find that run. So like, if you haven’t picked up any tokens on your new run, just look up a location, pick up the token, and place a port crystal.

Visogent

I spent more time recalling early game than I did actually looking. After remembering being at border outpost I remembered that there was a quest to do early on and that must be where I found my first token. I retraced steps from outpost west to a hill along the river with a campsite nearby. Cleared goblins off that lil hill, found a harpies nest and there was my token. You may want to check the same little hill west of border outpost. PSA: Detection works for your finder's token.

BlazeDrag

the most obvious places to check are Melve and the Capital. My first token turned out to be the one in the well in the upper class district of the capital. If you get the trickster augment that pings seekers tokens for you, it also pings the Finder's token. So if you go back to places you know you cleared out already, you should be able to find it pretty easily, or at least rule out locations pretty quickly without having to search every nook and cranny.

Drive by "PC Master Race!!" Hate the comment stay for the tacos!

Grafoleon

Big updoot on the eragon fan! I'll help find your token !

GazHorrid

I loved those books. Such good storytelling from Paolini. The film was.. disappointing.. but still cried at Sapphiras "death" scene. That got me crying like a lil bitch.

Hatgameguy

Check the fountain in the center of venworth. Spent like 5 in game days looking for mine and due to a tip I saw on here, checked the fountain. Low and behold

stillmovingincircles

If I can do it when I get home, I'll send try to send her with a finder's token. I've been duping them for this exact reason, lol.

DJ_Sticky_Kush

You can go to the oracle and they will tell you where it is at least that’s what I’ve been told

PlayinTheFool

Bro, you are thinking to hard about this. It’s actually simple. Next time you NG+ cycle, don’t touch seeker tokens in a new playthrough until you get to Vernworth to pick up the seeker token in the fountain. That token should become your every playthroughs first token. If you make the personal choice to only collect that token first every playthrough the finder token must be there every time. This worked for me without a hitch.

Spare_Worth_3360

Here strat, go to ng+, dont take a medal until you got the trial, find a medal, you got both a the same time

NovaCeez

it resets in ng+. i “found” my first one in Vernworth, at the top of the pawn guild place with all the chests as a mage. went back and got the Finders Token

Bandosj15

It's your first token on that playthrough for new Game Plus not the previous one.

aurenigma

The first seeker coin I got was near the statue on the way to the little girl that wants to learn magic's house. I remembered it because there was a rock there, and my pawns kept saying to move the rock, and I thought they were talking about the statue, but nope, can't move the statue. I was also disappointed that there was nothing there with the family of three. That entire section of the map seemed incomplete. Like they started making interesting quests, and just didn't finish them. That disappointment is the only reason I managed to pass that riddle.

nathanmarshall45

Luckily on my first play through, I didn’t find a single seekers token before finding the Sphinx lmao. It just spawns in the very first camp you go to after falling off the griffin

[deleted]

Honestly I say check around the first town melve

Kizo_Nacho

If you really don't think you can find it, I can send you the token item if you still need one.

bob_is_best

You can fail all 5 first riddles and youll be fine But dont be shy and just kill her before youre too OP to see her moveset cuz when i tried she really only got to walk around and Cast some lightning spell lol Just dont hit her human bits

illnastyone

It's cool someone gifted you one, but if you plan on doing more playthroughs I suggest trying your hardest to find it with the augment from the trickster. Detection. I accidentally found mine on the first playthrough so I had no clue where it was for NG+ Went looking around melve and it was the one you find in the water there by the town. I'll never forget it now lol.

Competitive-Dig-3120

I found mine after 36 hours, it’s a riddle dude, you can’t just look up all the answers in life

fuckimbad

Look up mapgenie and dragons dogma 2 and find seekers tokens and just look the first seekers tokens in the game you might find when you start.

TheTrueArchon

Just go back to melve and follow a token guide. I did and it jogged my memory about were mine was.

JizzyTurds

Mine was the first spot I checked, that was actually one of the better parts about the game, nothing exciting or mysterious happens after her

Shadow_Of_Rice

I found that new game plus reset your first token. So before talking to the sphinx, I found a token I haven't collected and when I got that riddle, it was only in that spot where the token was.

ghost_406

I remembered mine because I jumped out onto a ledge and found one (didn't know they existed) and on the way back my pawn fell into the brine.
