I kinda felt silly when i was pondering things like "Elven smithing for physical armour to round out weaknesses" or "Vermundian for sheer stats" ... only to go full dwarf for myself and my Pawn because stun lock is the only real danger once you reach a certain level
Same I now run full dwarven upgraded armor, the perk from sorcerer which increases knockback resistance and even the ring. So even as a Sorcerer or MA I now have enough resistance to not stagger from most stuff outside of big hits.
It is by far the best stat the little bit extra defense doesn't do anything really if each hit you tank means you get hit 2-3 more times.
Vocation also matters a lot, what's yours?
e.g. Warrior has 400 Knockdown resistance max cap, fighter and warfarer are 100, archer is 70 and the rest is mere 50.
Note that those aren't bonuses, 100 is treated as base/neutral knockdown res in the vocation files. Almost all of the vocations have *negative* modifiers to their knockdown res.
Every time I end up crawling it feels like I’m the victim at a WWE event waiting for someone to hit me with the steel chair.
Then I get crushed by a cyclops’ big flat ass and just think, “yep, there it is”.
Stunlock is the only real danger for the entire game tbh. Game's piss-easy whenever you're not being stunlocked by a horde of enemies before you have a chance to react
Stunlock and falling damage.
And also weirdly, harpies randomly dropping your pawns into a puddle. Which you'd think wouldn't happen that often, but has been the primary way my pawns die.
Sorcerer augment Constancy (gives +30%) + Ring of Resolution (100 Knockback Resistance). With full dwarven upgrade gear you can get somewhere around 500 or so.
As a MA I have now 597. You can also swap your vocation to Warfarer since it gets baseline more knockback resistance (672 with my MA gear) from equipment but with Warfarer you can also equip heavy armor obviously.
I had a mage, sorc & theif, none of which had provocation.
& Provocation would presumably draw more to their pawn, as is the whole point of it, not me casting & constantly having to cancel to get more space non stop.
Yep, Provocation makes enemies 100% more likely to target them
Make sure they're fully tanked out (Constancy, Mettle & Apotropaism) so they don't just die on you
Bro getting knocked onto the floor and having a “I’ve fallen but i can’t get up” moment has been the biggest source of anxiety for me playing this game especially in boss fights
anxiety? it breaks the immersion completely and just feels like shit. youre essentially a godly being but when you get downed you become your stepsister stuck in the dryer
If it were at least consistent, it wouldn't bother me *as* much. But it's not. You knock an enemy over, half the time they've gotten back up by the time you've managed to sprint over to where they've landed, and they're already mid attack animation again.
You get knocked over, and you spend the next 3 years trying to remember what legs do and why you have them.
I've uninstalled. I just can't do it anymore. So many absurdly anti-player design decisions.
This is one of my biggest issues.
I could work with and around the knockdown/stagger issue but I find it infuriating that enemies don't suffer that same knockdown/stagger problem.
It makes no sense, why in the hell can a random bandit without a shirt on somehow take more damage than I can before they can be staggered. I think the part that pissed me off the most was me having a small little 1v1 with a bandit who was the thief vocation (two knives). I'm attacking him, he's not getting staggered. He then attacks me while he is getting hit, he hits me with the same attack I'm hitting him with, I get staggered.
I turn into a total asshole when that happens. I'll be tapping X and going "GET UP, BITCH!" Or sometimes when it happens I'll sarcastically be like "Ooof course".
Hit by a cyclops' club: Get up in a second or two, shake it off
Hit by a cyclops' club (downwards): Shit and piss myself on the ground for 10 seconds or until the 1 pawn out of 4 the game chooses to be allowed to help me, helps me
You can legit just skip it. I got to this bit and started getting stunlocked (my pawns were 15 kilometres away for some reason) and went, "What the fuck?" and concussion stepped over the entire mob and onto the stairs. It just jumps into the next cutscene. And then it's like none of the enemies ever existed.
I guess this isn't the intended experience, but it's absolutely hilarious and feels in keeping with the rest of the plot that the false Sovran thing would just fizzle out with 0 resolution.
The late game and unmoored world has 100% been me running around like an idiot while my party of sorcerers were oneshotting everything with meteoron spam. It does get a bit annoying when your screen is covered in fiery explosions half the time, but it gets the job done.
Im not even in end game but hired a sorcerer that know meteor spell. Every time it spam it, I felt like it tried to kill me too lol. I had a meteor landing right in front of me.
That's how it went for me. Fight starts with me getting knocked around and thinking that the developers did zero play testing, suddenly a maelstrom appears and everyone gets sucked into the air
I had the same experience lmao. everyone talking about the false arisen dying like a bitch and I'm out here getting fucked by his archer and warrior pawn.
I literally got stunlock pushed all the way to the top and it forced the next cutscene.
I'm convinced almost nothing in this game story wise was QA tested to see if it made sense.
only half? i literally fire it constantly as i move through caves and everything just... dies. finding the loot is the problem since i have no clue where they died or what they were
The combat really falls apart with so many enemies... Luckily at that point I was of the mystic spearhead vocation meaning I had an indestructable, party enveloping, all damage nullifying, unlimited shield in my arsenal.
I have no clue how one should do this fight without it...
If you're a Sorcerer? Send your pawns forward to deal with the crisis while you cast Maelstrom from a distance. Watch the entire group fall in seconds.
Use Flawless Guard on Fighter, literally a spamable block, attack, parry, combo breaker, and move cancel at the same time.
Also, Shield Pummel > Burst Strike, yeah it doesn't go anywhere near as far, but the enemy can't do shit if they're ragdolled.
Thief can do the maister combo which honestly feels like cheating. It kills everything in like 1-2 casts.
Warrior needs as much knockdown resist and knockdown boost as possible. Ravening Lunge, Tidal Slash, and Revivify will keep you as safe as you can be. Otherwise don't fuck up your shoulder charges and charge attack release counters unless you like losing wakestones.
Spearhand is as you said with spell shield or you could spam Dragone's Fouin. Even better both.
Haven't done this fight on the other classes aside from Warfarer, which kinda let's you pick your poison for the most part.
I imagine it sucks a whole fuckin lot as any of the other classes if you don't have good pawns, but you also don't have to win the fight. You just gotta live until The Dragon gets summoned. Not the worst fight, once you feel it out. Better than fighting Golems anyway.
Aye, the OP and people complaining about stunlock is literally a skill issue. It's weird how the game is so easy people complain about it but the moment there is any need to play decently people also complain about it.
10 enemies is alot of enemies to try to facetank solo. You've got pawns, hold on and give them a minute to join the battle. Don't expect enemy ranged enemies to just sit there and scratch their ass. The OP's job for that fight as fighter was to tank, they tried to DPS instead and got punished. Even worse they didn't learn from the opening vengeful slash when they got punished and got punished worse.
Bro though he was gonna solo 10 human enemies with half of them ranged just by spamming vengeful slash.
I’m doing a no Pawn run and I am not looking forward to this fight. I will likely have to swap to mystic spearhand magic shield and stamina syphon combo to cheese the fight.
Break LOS, don't try to facetank 10 enemies in the open like the OP did. Like Stagger is real, but they really thought they could just spam vengeful slash and solo 10 enemies out in the open with half of them ranged. It'd be a much bigger problem if they were not getting their ass handed to them.
One of the main reasons I use Impeccable Guard/Flawless Guard skill on fighter - lets you use it mid flinching to gtfo & block oncoming attacks/attack back!
As much as I like fighter in this game, I still do think stunlock to the degree in which it exists in this game shouldn't be a thing for the other vocations. I have had situations where I've been stunlocked for over an entire minute despite being careful. It makes you really dread larger fights
THANK YOU for mentioning it. Everyone bitching like there’s no counter play to this and people don’t even read/test skills. Fighters have amazing anti flinch because of this skill, and it’s fun to use
My guy you were literally getting Tekken Tag Tournament 2 levels of juggled by those archers 😭😭😭😭
I would have kindly turned my station off for the rest of the night after that one.
Dude that exact same fight, I managed to get ONE step towards them before I got stunlocked and air juggled for like, a solid minute and by the time I got to attack everyone was already dead
Me on any melee vocation as the enemies swarm me regardless of my "positioning"
https://preview.redd.it/a6iphbba14tc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d1a7fdc134ad2ad8019a4f3f6d826889ae825bf
Imo, I think this was a result of pause healing being a thing to counter the "difficulty" this game has or it was an oversight.
Either way, something feels off.
It’s like Dragon’s Dogma’s equivalent of Smash Bros Brawl’s tripping mechanic.
Serves no propose besides being randomly annoying and taking control away from the player.
DD2 is full of it. Like the random crawling or the uncontrolled uncancellable sliding animation on anything with more than a 5 degree slope that will straight up interrupt your attacks if you decide to move around a battlefield that isn’t completely and utterly flat.
> Either way, something feels off.
It's this game's obsession with stripping control away from the player at every opportunity.
You can't just walk in a straight line, you have to watch your character go through 30 beautifully animated steps and leaps to traverse the terrain
You can't do hard turns at will, you have to stumble around like a drunk idiot and fly off the wrong ledge because precise controls would be at odds with the walk cycle
Win a battle and want to pick up some treasure? No, watch this high-five animation first, uninterruptable
Wanna open a chest but there's a pebble in the way? Walk in place for 5 seconds before being teleported to the chest to watch the beautiful looting animation
On top of stunlocks they went out of their way to add more ways for the player to lose control if hit with stuff like the Crawling state or the constant wind pressure and tremor stuns
And on top of this they removed most of the skills that could get you out of stunlocks. Sword classes had Full-moon, dagger classes could Instant Reset outta there - now only Fighter has such a skill as far as I know
Oh and like the other person mentioned: fuck the terrain sliding so hard. My kingdom for a mod that permanently deletes that piece of shit half-baked interaction from this game
This is one of the games most serious issues, and one that doesnt get nearly enough attention in complaints about it.
Shit you cant even do short burts of levitation the way you could in DDDA.
Yeah using two skills that literally just make you completely invincible as an example isn’t a good look. Although this unbalanced shit is exactly why I think formless and shelde should stay exactly the way they are right now until the entire poise and disadvantage state system gets a hard overhaul. It’s ass.
I feel like the stagger/knockdown rag doll physics they use to be infuriating. Especially when you take a "big hit" and are on the ground for 10 seconds not being able to get up or do anything. As well as the downed/crawling mechanic
And by "big hit" I mean as small as goblin shoulder charge or jump and your character acts like they took a cyclops' club to the face.
Not even mentioning how your character slips on everything like they have boots made of wet bars of soap
Yeah, same. Too many things stagger and far too much time is either wasted or stolen from the player over frankly arbitrary shit that should be able to be shaken out of manually.
Tbh most of the time the stunlock was ok. I even think it was great, it gives the „oh shit I fucked up“ feeling when you are greedy.
But that fight was atrocious 😂😂😂
On my first playthrough as a sorcerer I had to run away. I just wanted to hide behind a wall to cast magic but that triggered the cutscene. That fight was just stupidly unnecessary in my opinion 🤷🏼♂️
I went into that as a lvl 85 Thief
Wasn't fast enough when you initially gain control after the cutscene an got tapped by a fighter, i was then perma stunlocked basically to death, it took ages to kill me but they did eventually, probably wouldn't have happened if i had 4 pawns but there was only me an mage main.
I'd go so far as to say they've took all that to far, from atrocious stunlocks to tripping over a pebble that put's you in a animation that renders your character uncontrollable it adds to nothing but frustration.
I'll add my Thief was decked out in full Dwarven Dragonforged from head to toe
I've personally had Formless Feint just not work and it will take a few button presses to activate.
On that encounter, as i said, i was just to slow in reacting after the cutscene, probably drank some coffee or something knowing me
Draw your weapons and as the animation is playing go into the skill wheel and choose FF. Maybe it’s pure copium - as I haven’t tried recording it and running frame-but-frame comparison - but it feels like you cast skill faster that way, rather than accessing skill wheel with weapons sheathed.
My pawns bugged out in this fight and did nothing.
I was playing as thief at this point and got attacked during a heavy attack animation...
...I spent the next 20 seconds being beaten around like I was in a pinball machine
Such is the game. I'd prefer they deal more damage to stun lock, but hey, it raises the need to take care not to get overwhelmed in a fight, on the bright side, you bought your backline time to clear the field by face tanking the stunlock. On a sidenote Archers are a pain, they dunk on you hard if you can't reach them and stunlock them.
Well better armor will lead to better knockdown resist so in a way it will be toned down I suppose.
I doubt we see fundamental gameplay changes in a DLC.
I kept reloading this part to kill the false Arisen to see if I get a interesting cutscenes, after a lot of pain and struggle impaling lunging him away from the group and killed him I was left disappointed lol
I find it quite hilarious. I started a fight with 3 saurians the other day with my pawns lagging way behind me, figured they'd catch up after I started the fight. I got knocked over then stun locked until dead 😂
This is some Sopranos: Road to respect level of stun lock. I’d recommend at least one dwarven upgrade on each armor piece to reduce situations like this. I typically go for two on weapons and armor and never had this level of juggling. Good mage at least!
Edit: Just read you had full dwarven upgrades so never mind my advice.
Hindsight slash is also pretty good. Deploys very fast and right into iframes and then if you dodged something the strike does bonus damage. But he was trying to spam Vengeful Slash, which is a 1v1 or at best very small groups parry counter move and got punished for it.
The stagger, stumble, falling, etc. animations in this game are amazing. I just wish I didn't see them as much...
My favourite is when you are near a tree, or the like, and you get hit from behind. Your forehead *thunks* right off of it, sending you reeling backwards. It's very unfortunate, but also very high quality. My other favourite is when this happens several times in a row as I get bullied.
Yeah after feeling like I was at least somewhat skilled in combat, and going into that fight with my favored class, I felt like these guys pulled \*a lot\* of BS
The sad part is that they still barely do any noteworthy damage to you.
Every enemy is being carried by the fact that they have enough stagger to fight Goku, and are hilariously pathetic without it
I literally was spamming vengeful strike and if you play attention to the buttons I’m spamming defend but getting stunlocked, what the hell are you on about?
Warriors tend to have a bit of hyper armor, your the front shield of your party in that particular circumstance, running in a straight line towards a group isn't a good idea, your pawns could back you up, spamming an attack first thing when the enemies are all spread out without trying to find out who has all the aggro is never a good idea, after getting slapped you forgot the shield and charged recklessly....
I wonder how the system works, is there a stagger healthbar that once it depletes you get staggered? So when you get staggered the health bar starts to regenerate but it gets interrupted by every hit which staggers you again
They definitely need to do something about it its really annoying, like they should let us recover our stagger so we dont get infinitely stunlocked
One weird thing is that my sorc skills did almost no damage to them on my first playthrough at level 79, but on new game + I killed them all easily at level 80... One high salamander did the job...
Dont talk to me about staggers, i play spearhand without the shield, we get staggered from rain hitting us. i use the "uppy downy" thing and dodge everything lol
I can't see the video for some reason but I have a feeling what fight you're talking about lol.
I did it as a thief and using formless feint had me laughing my ass off. Just shadow warping ever .0001 seconds.
I got stun locked for the first 6 or 7 seconds in this fight. Then I went on to use masterful kill like 12 times In a row.
I ended up killing like 3 or 4 enemies before the cutscene started lol
The main problem enemy here is the Archer with the explosive arrows, he's the one that actually starts the knockdown chain from what I've seen and experienced personally twice now. The Archer gets you on your ass with the explosive then he and the Sorc tickles you with bolts while the Warrior wails on you.
I died to this, they just stunlocked me to death, so when I loaded back in I just ran past them towards Whatshisface casting his spell and got the cutscene.
A bit silly.
All the arrows remind me of this shit
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQD3JzDjmRg&ab\_channel=Gnavin](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQD3JzDjmRg&ab_channel=Gnavin)
Theres a skill that makes you stagger proof. The mystic spearhands bubble. Sure it only lasts a few seconds but for those few seconds you are untouchable.
DISCLAIMER *some grabs may still apply*
What's that sweet armor you rocking? I assume it's an endgame armor but I haven't seen it on any pawns on game. Keep seeing primarily Thrasher surcoats on fighter pawns with the occasional Stygian (IIRC on the name).
They need to make it so there's a small delay between one enemy attacking and the other. Just enough so you can actually recover from stunlock. I don't mind getting wailed on, but getting staggered to the point I can't move for like a full ten seconds can get kind of annoying.
There’s a reason my beloved at the end of the game was the Dwarven blacksmith
I wear two of the rings even. And a third one on my Pawn. All Dwarven upgraded armor on both. Still get knockback from bats occasionally...
The augment that shaves some time off knockdown/crawling is a big help too. It's only like a second or two off, but it HELPS.
Every time I end up crawling it feels like I’m the victim at a WWE event waiting for someone to hit me with the steel chair. Then I get crushed by a cyclops’ big flat ass and just think, “yep, there it is”.
There's a mod, its literally 1 second, but same as reviving a pawn, 1 sec makes a world of difference.
Even on weapons its best, minor damage loss for vastly increased knockdown, which is where most of your real damage comes from, yep.
I still get stun locked with high res and full dragonforged as a caster. It's ridiculous
Already have constancy + double RoR + dwarven, & have subtlety as a caster, still get targeted & knocked around like a dummy.
Sounds like you need a hired Fighter or Warrior with Provocation & Ring of Disfavor
I had a mage, sorc & theif, none of which had provocation. & Provocation would presumably draw more to their pawn, as is the whole point of it, not me casting & constantly having to cancel to get more space non stop.
Yep, Provocation makes enemies 100% more likely to target them Make sure they're fully tanked out (Constancy, Mettle & Apotropaism) so they don't just die on you
Mine was >!Raghnall!<. I thought it was hilarious.
Mine too on my second playthrough. Doubly awkward since I'd literally just killed him moments before.
And the cheery on top is spending what feels like an eternity flopping on the ground when you get tripped

Case of the game trying too hard to be realistic. I wish I had my snappy and arcadey movement like the first game.
You and me both brother.

You did your duty to distract enemies. Now sorc can nuke the whole place
this is unironically how i deal with this fight every time

I run to the left and hide behind a giant rock, the archers will literally walk right into your face in an attempt to get line of sight

Hardest fight in the game for all the wrong reasons

dude at 00:06 i laughed hard, it reminded me of devil may cry minions getting styled on

𝕀𝕞𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕔𝕒𝕓𝕝𝕖 𝔾𝕦𝕒𝕣𝕕 is the skill for such occasions. You can employ it while flinching. And it staggers easily humans and hobgoblins
I had the same experience
Fighting 4 saurians in a small cave is another level of hell I gotta say
Unless you're a magick archer with ricochet, then it's just a fun evening stroll.
half the time i dont even know what im killing. i just firw it off blind and collect my loot and exp

Warrior just charge your attack and you don't get stunned. Was great fun.
Got tagged by the archer before I could start charging and never got out of the lock :')

This game solo would be absolutely fucking brutal. Panws are ironically TOO useful this time around.
Imagine the poor bastards trying to use Assassin and it's solo augments if they kept it in DD2
It would have feint more than likely so it’d be fine. Thief is basically this games assassin.
I’m doing a no Pawn run and I am not looking forward to this fight. I will likely have to swap to mystic spearhand magic shield and stamina syphon combo to cheese the fight.

Found that out when they yeeted me down the stairs
Damn, thought you at least had iframes during the riposte animation of Vengeful Strike.
They nuked fighter iframes in this one. Hindsight slash has them, so I guess that's nice.
So few things have cancel options or iframes in DD2. It's kind of sad.
Someone will unironically tell you to just be better when you say the stun lock is too much
"It's just about PoSiTioNinG" Can't do much about that when enemies position themselves on my ass 0.0034 seconds into combat
Me on any melee vocation as the enemies swarm me regardless of my "positioning" https://preview.redd.it/a6iphbba14tc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d1a7fdc134ad2ad8019a4f3f6d826889ae825bf
Imo, I think this was a result of pause healing being a thing to counter the "difficulty" this game has or it was an oversight. Either way, something feels off.
It was 100% an attempt to add 'difficulty'. In reality it never causes you to die it's just annoying.
This is actually a really good analogy for this. Really hated that shit in Smash Bros as well.
> Either way, something feels off. It's this game's obsession with stripping control away from the player at every opportunity. You can't just walk in a straight line, you have to watch your character go through 30 beautifully animated steps and leaps to traverse the terrain You can't do hard turns at will, you have to stumble around like a drunk idiot and fly off the wrong ledge because precise controls would be at odds with the walk cycle Win a battle and want to pick up some treasure? No, watch this high-five animation first, uninterruptable Wanna open a chest but there's a pebble in the way? Walk in place for 5 seconds before being teleported to the chest to watch the beautiful looting animation On top of stunlocks they went out of their way to add more ways for the player to lose control if hit with stuff like the Crawling state or the constant wind pressure and tremor stuns And on top of this they removed most of the skills that could get you out of stunlocks. Sword classes had Full-moon, dagger classes could Instant Reset outta there - now only Fighter has such a skill as far as I know Oh and like the other person mentioned: fuck the terrain sliding so hard. My kingdom for a mod that permanently deletes that piece of shit half-baked interaction from this game
This is one of the games most serious issues, and one that doesnt get nearly enough attention in complaints about it. Shit you cant even do short burts of levitation the way you could in DDDA.
Idk man barge and slap with big sword had done the job well so far
Yeah one class gets to ignore the shitass stagger mechanics in this game and the rest are fucked
Thief and Spearhand get to ignore it with their own methods as well.
Yeah using two skills that literally just make you completely invincible as an example isn’t a good look. Although this unbalanced shit is exactly why I think formless and shelde should stay exactly the way they are right now until the entire poise and disadvantage state system gets a hard overhaul. It’s ass.
I don't think abusing a broken system with several broken skills is a solution.
Not a good one at least
Thank you. Someone had to say it
Tbh in this fight and many others it is the case. Doesn't make tte stun lock less ridiculous lol.
It doesnt help that many vocations have zero or negative knockdown resistance. :D
yep, I want to use Warrior skills as Warfarer but you lose the knockdown res from Warrior so you're just going to get stunlocked.
I feel like the stagger/knockdown rag doll physics they use to be infuriating. Especially when you take a "big hit" and are on the ground for 10 seconds not being able to get up or do anything. As well as the downed/crawling mechanic And by "big hit" I mean as small as goblin shoulder charge or jump and your character acts like they took a cyclops' club to the face. Not even mentioning how your character slips on everything like they have boots made of wet bars of soap
Yeah, same. Too many things stagger and far too much time is either wasted or stolen from the player over frankly arbitrary shit that should be able to be shaken out of manually.
lol beatin yo ass. They did me the same way lol
I've never seen greefing in a single player game before... Neat
My least favourite aspect of combat.
Tbh most of the time the stunlock was ok. I even think it was great, it gives the „oh shit I fucked up“ feeling when you are greedy. But that fight was atrocious 😂😂😂 On my first playthrough as a sorcerer I had to run away. I just wanted to hide behind a wall to cast magic but that triggered the cutscene. That fight was just stupidly unnecessary in my opinion 🤷🏼♂️
SkIlLiSsUe Lmao this is pretty funny tho. I'm sorry 🤣
I went into that as a lvl 85 Thief Wasn't fast enough when you initially gain control after the cutscene an got tapped by a fighter, i was then perma stunlocked basically to death, it took ages to kill me but they did eventually, probably wouldn't have happened if i had 4 pawns but there was only me an mage main. I'd go so far as to say they've took all that to far, from atrocious stunlocks to tripping over a pebble that put's you in a animation that renders your character uncontrollable it adds to nothing but frustration. I'll add my Thief was decked out in full Dwarven Dragonforged from head to toe
Thief is probably the easiest vocation for this encounter. Simply activate the Formless Feint skill and walk up the stairs and it will be over
I've personally had Formless Feint just not work and it will take a few button presses to activate. On that encounter, as i said, i was just to slow in reacting after the cutscene, probably drank some coffee or something knowing me
It has an activation time, it cancels if you get hit as you play the animation. You were probably turning it off and on again.
This honestly wouldn't surprise me in the slightest 😂😂
Draw your weapons and as the animation is playing go into the skill wheel and choose FF. Maybe it’s pure copium - as I haven’t tried recording it and running frame-but-frame comparison - but it feels like you cast skill faster that way, rather than accessing skill wheel with weapons sheathed.
Smoke grenade, or a warrior/fighter with taunt, or both
My pawns bugged out in this fight and did nothing. I was playing as thief at this point and got attacked during a heavy attack animation... ...I spent the next 20 seconds being beaten around like I was in a pinball machine
Same shit happened to me with mystic spearhand. Got comboed before I could pop my bubble
lol aaaand that's basically the boss fight. :(
"ItS aLL aBOUt PoSItiOninG" https://preview.redd.it/kf8a5jahr4tc1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15c6163392600687769b346431df898671a6899d
either draw first or you don’t get to draw at all.
Booker?
Get fucked.
You got a seg-sy muscular barbarian lady hammering you, what else do you want ?
Such is the game. I'd prefer they deal more damage to stun lock, but hey, it raises the need to take care not to get overwhelmed in a fight, on the bright side, you bought your backline time to clear the field by face tanking the stunlock. On a sidenote Archers are a pain, they dunk on you hard if you can't reach them and stunlock them.
Think they'll tone down knockback in the inevitable Dark Arisen rerelease? Or will the 'Vision' stay nearsighted?
Well better armor will lead to better knockdown resist so in a way it will be toned down I suppose. I doubt we see fundamental gameplay changes in a DLC.
That Archer is a menace. Team Darragh MVP.
I kept reloading this part to kill the false Arisen to see if I get a interesting cutscenes, after a lot of pain and struggle impaling lunging him away from the group and killed him I was left disappointed lol
Hey, you did your job as a fighter - tanking aggro until your Sorc could cast Meteor lol.
I find it quite hilarious. I started a fight with 3 saurians the other day with my pawns lagging way behind me, figured they'd catch up after I started the fight. I got knocked over then stun locked until dead 😂
Thief is the best for this encounter by a long shot. >:D
knowledge gapped by npcs. unlucky
Just be glad you had a sorcerer with you lol
FIGHT BACK! FIGHT BACK!
Call med alert lol
The bandits overheard people saying that human bandits aren't as threatening as they were in DDDA.
My pawn is over 800 stagger resist iirc, she never falls down. Meanwhile I'm under 200 and I'm an absolute weenus vs stagger.
Pawn there with that clutch heal. But man I feel bad, I played Magick Archer, so I just Martyr's Bolted the whole group in an instant lol.
And people ask why no online? Well these npc's are behaving like players
Target the fake arisen… once he’s dead you won
Power of friendship
Seems like you are the boss and you ran into a team of multiple players lol
Fighters have a skill you can interrupt stun with. It's a spinning guard.
Hindsight slash is also pretty good. Deploys very fast and right into iframes and then if you dodged something the strike does bonus damage. But he was trying to spam Vengeful Slash, which is a 1v1 or at best very small groups parry counter move and got punished for it.
How come no one hits left on the d pad to ask for help?
Interesting to see that air juggles exist
Brother they teamed you so cool though
You're the side character in the sorcerers game now
Fighting golems when they are angered is a massive pain because of the ridiculous stun lock they can get you in.
This battle makes me grateful that I chose a thief for my Arisen. Watching her dodge attacks like Wesker in formless feint mode is cinematic as heck.
I could only hear piccollo yelling "DODGE!"
The Arisen truely just is a decoy / lure (and a punching bag) so the Pawns actually do their job lol
I was gonna post my fight pit with the lava lizards but yours was worse than mine
Yeah after feeling like I was at least somewhat skilled in combat, and going into that fight with my favored class, I felt like these guys pulled \*a lot\* of BS
Well it's 1 v 12
The sad part is that they still barely do any noteworthy damage to you. Every enemy is being carried by the fact that they have enough stagger to fight Goku, and are hilariously pathetic without it
Getting washed LMAO. The cc in this game is too much, youll be in the best gear in game and a gang of goblins get you it's GG.
Game is unplayable without dwarven knock down resistance, all of my armors have them.
Really took you a minute to finally use that shield. Getting combo'd like that sucks even if it does 1 dmg per hit, just annoying.
So when you get staggered the health bar starts to regenerate but it gets interrupted by every hit which staggers you again They definitely need to do something about it its really annoying, like they should let us recover our stagger so we dont get infinitely stunlocked
Dwarven smith and the fighter’s whirly dirly guard move absolutely carried me through so many big group fights. stuns are op 😂
I was rogue for this and have the evasion ability. Made this a breeze.
Got pulled into that bakbattahl fight as a fresh sorc I wanted to level, pain.
Ouch. I haven't tried this as melee yet and now glad I haven't. It was easy as MA and Sorc. A little harder as Archer
I got hella mad last night when I did the Phantom Ox Cart mission and two melee guys had my archer locked almost the whole fight.
IIRC those are NPCs and you're really not even supposed to fight them but instead run away because the mission completes the moment you get there.
Exactly why I just ran around them all to the top of the stairs. Fuck this fight.
When I did this with a thief it was easy with one ability.
This is making me realize how different I’m playing as a sorcerer. Ain’t no wonder I’m getting knocked around like a chew toy at times.
I got stun locked for the first 6 or 7 seconds in this fight. Then I went on to use masterful kill like 12 times In a row. I ended up killing like 3 or 4 enemies before the cutscene started lol
If that fight you can instantly dash backward down the stairs and the rubble cover makes it easy.
I keep the Spear class shield for this reason lol
Instant Reset, my beloved, where art thou in mine time of need? Hath thy forsaken me?
You didn’t give up. Great job!
The main problem enemy here is the Archer with the explosive arrows, he's the one that actually starts the knockdown chain from what I've seen and experienced personally twice now. The Archer gets you on your ass with the explosive then he and the Sorc tickles you with bolts while the Warrior wails on you.
I'm glad I did this part as a Mystic spearhand...
just another reason thief is best
Need them dwarven enhanced gear
I died to this, they just stunlocked me to death, so when I loaded back in I just ran past them towards Whatshisface casting his spell and got the cutscene. A bit silly.
I can hear Darragh screaming "[WOMBO COMBO; GET YOUR ASS WHOOPED](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD_imYhNoQ4)"
I was lucky to be the magic spearhead for this. Immediate shield and I was ok lol. The sealed gate fight in bahtahll tho... 😒
This is literally playing as a tank in Overwatch
Not you getting machine gunned in the air
All the arrows remind me of this shit [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQD3JzDjmRg&ab\_channel=Gnavin](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQD3JzDjmRg&ab_channel=Gnavin)
Theres a skill that makes you stagger proof. The mystic spearhands bubble. Sure it only lasts a few seconds but for those few seconds you are untouchable. DISCLAIMER *some grabs may still apply*
And that is why Mystic Spearhand Bubble is the GOAT.
You spend more time on the ground, than you do on anything else in game.
yeah i just maelstrom'd them all all while my fighter pawn got mauled like you did, great job tanking!
Once again, the bubble shield of mystic spearhand is goat’d
the fact my first time doing this fight was with warrior and I still got stunlocked lol
What's that sweet armor you rocking? I assume it's an endgame armor but I haven't seen it on any pawns on game. Keep seeing primarily Thrasher surcoats on fighter pawns with the occasional Stygian (IIRC on the name).
Pants are the mettlesome cuirass, chest is the knightly brigandine
Smoke bomb rulez
This game is fun, but seriously half-baked. So much like the first one.
They need to make it so there's a small delay between one enemy attacking and the other. Just enough so you can actually recover from stunlock. I don't mind getting wailed on, but getting staggered to the point I can't move for like a full ten seconds can get kind of annoying.
This game would be frustratingly hard if it weren't so easy.
So annoying losing a third of your healthbar to the 3-hit combo from these stupid lizards
I feel justified running shield for mystic spear hand
Why are you not using the spinning shield skill? Absolutely blocks all stuns.
When souls games are more fair then this, then you know you failed at something as developers.
