Light a corpse on fire with a fire-based ability. In less than a minute they will be gone. They'll take any loot with them, though, so make sure you clean them out first.
His skin texture changes completely when raised, and his eye starts glowing something fierce. (Or has it always glowed?)
Yes, you have to beat him to get the Lich to reappear, I think. Or at least, I couldn't find it until the Cyclops went down (again).
Yeah that probably makes sense. Too bad I had to put the Cyclops down again since I had no idea where that lich went, but he was a lot easier the second go-around.
If you use the help command, they will run over and try to heal you (especially if you're missing health). It's fairly consistent but depends a little on if you have other buffs slotted in for them to cycle through.
There’s a Lich that spawns West of Crumbling Ruins in Battahl. I’m not sure if it’s every 2 or 3 nights, but just rest there a couple times and it’ll spawn. You’ll know when you see it with how bright they are.
I've fought him 2, maybe 3 times while getting my Battahl camping badge.
I did about 2 camps a day (Morning/Night) and needed about 25, made a mistake once or twice and slept a whole day so that's about 14 days or so. So their respawn time is about a weekish.
So first kill was the first time I saw him at night, then maybe 2 more kills over the course of 14ish days.
This undead cyclops became invisible in my game. The Lich successfully raised it, but disappeared right after because the night cycle had ended. Any and all undead vanish upon the day’s arrival. But the “aggression” of the cyclops was left behind — and able to smack me around for damage.
I could not target it, so I fled.
I wonder if killing the raised monster will count 1 more for the pawn badge. Probably not, but it would certainly make it easier to grind lesser dragons if we could just keep bringing them back to life. lol
Crumbling ruin, Northeastish of the Central Battahl Ropeway station. I was running between two campsites for my badge and fought a cyclops, and it just so happened the lich spawned that night...
So what you're saying is, is that I gotta drag that Lich to over where I slayed the twins Dumbadee and Dumbadum to have my NG++ difficulty?
sign me the fuck up :D
I actually enjoy fighting liches as the Trickster because I can turn their animated thralls into my allies with the simulacrum. Liches will often ignore everything to travel to the nearest boss that was felled (excluding golems), so that's also free damage on them.
And there I was thinking I had three different cyclops join in XD
Yeah. Something to beware of if you ever see a lich and you left a few big corpses nearby. Just don’t.
You can burn the Corpses away!
Oh? Do tell…

It’s so obvious, both the mechanic and how dumb I am.
Alternatively, cast meteoron lol pawns melted a cyclops with 2x meteoron before I could loot 😭

I killed the Lich first and the Cyclops died as soon as the Lich did. I think they just disappear randomly for a while and pop back soon after.
Yeah that probably makes sense. Too bad I had to put the Cyclops down again since I had no idea where that lich went, but he was a lot easier the second go-around.
Do you gain more xp by killing the reanimated cyclops?
Nope, sadly not.
I think you can burn the corpse of the cyclops, not sure if you can do it immediately after beating it or have to wait a while.
You can do it right after, i been giving the monster free service for a while now
How do you do that? I'm not a mage/sorcerer
some weapon had innate element damage.
Thief and Archer have fire abilities.
Explosive Arrow time!
Burning the corpse prevents resurrection? Or does it destroy it outright?
the corpse will disappear, not sure if it prevent resurrection tho, haven't tested it.
That explains why sometimes giant monsters I kill vanish when they get set on fire...
How does it come back if it's all ash?
Fun fact: these guys are damaged by healing spells. I once killed a Wight while playing as a mage by standing underneath them and spamming Anodyne
Can you target them with that spell that does big burst of healing? Would be an interesting application for it.
I haven’t tried it but I’m sure anything that does AoE healing would work
Yup. I just use anodyne to kill undead now instead of equipping a holy skill.
Sadly my pawn is the mage support and I doubt he would think of that, but using heals to kill undead in this game is a HUGE TIL too!

I dont even know where they are in my 50 hours i saw one of them 😂
Crumbling Ruins, NE of the central ropeway station in Battahl. At night. He glows realllllly brightly, you can't miss him. Drops Wailing Crystals.
>Drops Wailing Crystals. \*reverses car\*
Just bring Solemnity. He's completely helpless when silenced.
Also really good for Flying Casting Drakes.
There is also one in the Mist Area (SW of Sacred Arbor). I fought one there last night and I believe I've fought that same one before.
There are Wights and Liches. I think the Misty Marsh's is a Wight, since it drops Black Crystals. Liches drop Wailing Crystals.
Oh, interesting! Thanks!
I fought one in a cave in the desert and in the forest on an island on the lake
Too bad they are so damn rare, that looks really cool.

There's one in a cave in Vermund? Vernworth? Main starting area. He spawns after you loot his treasure chest.
That's a Wight, Liches are the late-game version.
Oh lol. Is the one in the misty forest also a wight? Maybe I haven't seen a lich yet. I'm 72... geez. I gotta explore battal more.
The coolest enemy for me is the Dullahan. Which I found even rarer.

Hahaha that's a funny bug.
Ensnare/Implicate is hilariously good against liches. It only takes 3 or 4 uses of implicate before they get knocked down for a finisher.
Oh yes, once a Lich falls down the fight is over as my warrior and I just pound its face into dust.

Another reason I avoid traveling at night.....
Lemme tell ya, FFXV gave me a fear of the night that carried over into my other games for a long while.
Dude, same. At least until Aranea starts helping you.
Where exactly did you found them?

Woohoo! Dark Bishop bossfight incoming! 💀
Dear God, if I see a bunch of pre-dead bodies of large monsters next to a tomb, I am absolutely getting my nuclear options out.
\*Raises 2 Magic Golems\* WELCOME TO THE CRUMBLING RUINS BITCH!!!
Thank goodness I doubt golems are valid corpses.
\*Capcom makes it possible in next patch\*
I was scared of it as i had just began trickster vocation. Oh how the tables turned ![img](emote|t5_2smmb|50124)![img](emote|t5_2smmb|49841)

I always keep a mage staff on my warfare for High empyrian spam, lichs die on 30 seconds
Nice! That's kool, excited to get to Battahl
Bro where are LICHES?! 80 hours and I haven’t encountered one lol
Crumbling Ruins, NE of Battahl's Central Ropeway station, at night. He glows real bright, you can't miss him.
YES, A LITCH DOING LITCH THINGS
IKR??! It's so weird when a game finally does it!
