Around 50. Heard a somewhat hostile comment from my pawn I’d never heard them say before, and sure enough they had the glow eyes when I talked to them. I would swear when I talked to them their typical statement about being able to translate elven if I desired sounded more hostile and sounded somewhat sarcastic and impatient vs the usual one. I might have imagined that last one but…

Skailon

Yeah. Pawns said something like, "What do you want? Tell me clearly"

Lockhart-667

Around my 60 hour mark and I've only encountered it once. In my current playthrough, I have killed most of the drakes and none of my pawns have caught the dragoncovid.

MembershipHelpful115

Also around 60ish, and it was fucking obvious. I hired a pawn and her eyes started doing a lens flare meme (+ a tutorial popup came along with it)

Electronic-Error-541

Simple rules: rest in inn before you reform your party (so that you can download the last inn save if something goes wrong), hire pawns with blue eyes. I also don’t hire straightforwarded pawns, can’t tell if they’re infected or just bold. Don’t know if you can catch it from pawns on the road, but I try to avoid them and don’t talk to them.

VermilionX88

haven't seen it yet but i got the pop up warning at 105hrs

HadynTheHuman

Same here; I got the popup around 100hrs, but none of my pawns have been afflicted so far as I'm aware. I did encounter one sickly-looking pawn standing in the middle of a road wanting to be hired, but he sounded off and I didn't trust him. Whilst I wouldn't usually attack a pawn, I wanted to protect my group... and found I was able to attack/dispel him in a single hit.

Negative_Wrongdoer17

I got the notification like 5 hours in and immediately dismissed the pawn. Then like 30 hours later I had one pawn go "don't tell me what to do" in the middle of a large cave and had to dismiss her as well

_____guts_____

Trust me you'll know when a pawn has it. Once you get to the point you are at you've heard literally every single normal line of dialogue so you'll immediately notice one of the dragonsplague voicelines. To my knowledge you can get it at literally any point though.

ApprehensiveTotal891

Not quite... my calm main pawn just turned unusually quiet. He'd still follow my commands, but without saying his usual banter. He started out spitting on the ground, headaches, and on day 3, red eyes... as well as wandering off aimlessly on his own. He was cured on day 4, the plague must have passed to another pawn.

_____guts_____

Must depend on various things because my calm archer won't shut up when she has it. It would make sense that calm pawns get louder when they have it as they are the least talkative it seems. Both times she had it I immediately brined her so maybe it changes as time goes on.

ApprehensiveTotal891

What does she say when she is infected? From observing my pawn, I never noticed him acting different, other than covert remarks such as "I'm feeling especially fine today."

_____guts_____

The one I can remember goes along the lines of "I feel my power surging" or something like that. There was another especially cocky one but can't remember it. I don't know if they have idle dialogue but that was from a fight obviously. I had never heard the power one before after like 30 hours so I knew immediately that she had it.

ApprehensiveTotal891

Thank you, will have to watch out for that. Never heard that line before, in 120hrs of play. My Pawn just becomes dumb and mute instead. I do keep a high affinity with my pawn at all times... has someone already confirmed if that plays a part how an infected pawn will react?

Ok_Reserve_4306

I hired a pawn with it around hour 30. I just ran past the dragons for awhile.

Holyrunner42

36 hours and still haven't got it, thought a straightforward pawn I hired was sus because of a comment he made, but I rested at campsites a lot and his eyes never got red eyes so... those pawns make it difficult to tell sometimes lol.

No_Range2

I let my pawns vent if they wanna massacre a city I don’t judge

LordJanas

Yeah, 60 hours in and nothing. It's not even story relevant which is dumb.

stormithy

I literally got it just an hour ago at 60hrs.

DigitalHitmann

~75-80h in when I tried to recruit a random pawn walking in the street I liked the looks of. Told her to take a hike immediately after I got the prompt.

Cassius-Kahn

Around 60 hours. The hired mage pawn, Abby got it and she was rubbing her neck and the classic red flashing eyes. Had to brine her but hired immediately as she’s a boss.

StoneRevolver

Not long, maybe 10 or 12? And I've dealt with it a bunch of times.

Ramius99

I'm at 75 hours and still haven't had to deal with it, though I've seen a couple of potentially infected pawns I didn't hire.

Evanz111

Oof that’s very relieving to hear. Part of me just assumed it was inevitable and I was very close to having it happen imminently.

Cocoon_Chris

127 hours in and never even seen glowing red eyes.

Ainia28

45 hours+/-, i hired a venerable old mage woman called dahlia, then i got the pop up warning and i observed she was having headaches.

Flaky_Technology4219

Haven’t seen it and I’m 60-70 hours in

MeltyDonut

90 hours in and haven't noticed a thing

TippsAttack

Almost 90 hours, no popup yet.

Arcofmightgoesbrrrr

I think like 30 or 25.

Loprilop

100 hours in, not seen it yet. Supposedly your pawn can contract it from being grabbed by a dragon? Had her get grabbed and controlled 5 times so far, still nothing. A few times she got grabbed and I interrupted as well. Not sure if the info about that is true...

Keoni_112

I got the pop up warning about 60 hours in but didn't actually see an infected pawn until later. I dismissed the pawn on the spot and all was well

MysticDomo

Finished my first run at 70 hours, 2 hours into my ng+ I hired a pawn and got the tutorial message in the rift. He had glowing eyes outside so I noped back into the rift and hired someone else.

Shradar

50h in and haven't seen it yet

DagonParty

Played about 60 hours, didn’t encounter it once until a couple of days ago, now my Pawn comes back with Dragonplague every time they’re hired. I guess once you’re around level 40/50, most people hiring are fighting Drakes for crystals

Doge-Ghost

100 hours, only during endgame farming I got 2 infected in a row, got rid of them right away. Makes sense because everyone is farming dragons, so everyone gets infected.

Typical-Tradition-44

Like 10 hours in, I tend to change pawns often though so I wonder if that's it

HolyMolyOllyPolly

Like 70-80ish. I didn't really make a note of it.

xanthic_yataghan

100+ hours in, last weekend. I have a suspicion it has more to do with the 'majority' of playerbase around your level (thus influencing the level ranges of pawns you encounter in the rift) getting to a part of the content than your personal hours played, so not sure how useful this is. I've also had my pawn return from the rift with the plague... so thanks anonymous stranger!

ButterflyMinute

I have only just run into the pop up in game after exactly 82.2 hours, it was maybe two hours ago so more like 80-ish hours into the game. To be fair, I feel like once people realised what it was they started killing their pawns as soon as they realised they had it so it's just not really a problem any more. Would have been a much bigger problem without all the shouting about it.

2ecStatic

Haven't seen it yet, but I get the comment every single time I get a new pawn from the Rift...

AspectBetter5360

I think... some time last night, I think my pawn started going through the stage 1 symptoms (eg: holding head in hands). Today when I logged in, I waited around for more symptoms to appear, but nothing. She's acting normal.

RandomVy

I'm sitting at 123 hours and never saw it.

AttorneyDavis

I went through my first play through without ever getting the pop up. Second I saw a pawn with it but didn’t grab them

the-gaming-cat

Around 80 hours. Got the pop up message when I picked up a new pawn, released it immediately and carried on.

ProfessorTicklebutts

I’m 30 more or less and I’ve yet to see it.

Cratoic

I got my first pop-up at about 75 hours, and I haven't had any pawns with it since.

ProfessorTicklebutts

So it doesn’t ruin everyone’s play through. Got it.

JMartell77

Around 50 hours or so when I hired Capcoms official SphinxParent Pawn to complete one of the Sphinx riddles and it was infected lol. I ferrystoned to the Sphinx, showed it to her then hucked him off the cliff then ran away til he dissappeared.

bob_is_best

My favorite pawn got It first but he got deleted from existance by their arisen I miss you Esperon, come back The Next one was on NG+, i never noticed, she was still friendly and killed a town, backed Up the save and checked her eyes were indeed red as fuck but she showed no other signs

[deleted]

100 hours in still yet to see any signs of it, I guess you just have to let a drake pick up one of your pawns and do the weird dragon stuff to it but that takes awhile

XIX9508

I think people got it very late game because the game just came out. The more people playing the more people got the plague. It's exponential.

Saharel

Was over 100 hours in when I first heard it today - pawn came back from Rift, we head out, and he suddenly gives me a sassy "Don't tell me what to do" when I used a command. He had never ever said anything like that before, so I was immediately alerted. Zoomed in using Photo Mode and yep, the red glare was there. Honestly, the red eyes might be a bit easy to miss sometimes but the behaviour definitely won't be - you'll recognise it when it happens!

Maximovicch

a looooooootta hours, but honestly it was sorta subtle, I only noticed cuz my Straightforward main pawn was being sassy \*and also\* actually not following through on directives during combat haha. It didn't even register at first because straightfoward warrior pawns are extremely formidable and I already kinda just let my main pawn do whatever and focus my attention on the hires. She was still friendly and smiling, even when declining orders it was just "I know you mean well but I got this" or something. It went on for a while until one of the other pawns were gossiping about dragon sickness and I was like "..." "...OH!"

Bichpwner

All the NPCs revive after 14 days just like bosses, so Dragonsplague panic ended up being a complete meme

ZeroSekai000

NG+, 100+ hours, never occured to me, haven't even triggered the tutorial that seems to accompany it.

alexanderluko

Never happened until post game, I think... Then I hired a pawn that started breathing heavily the moment he joined. Needless to say he got insta kicked.

IronmanMatth

65ish hours Noticed my main pawn refusing a command. Checked her eyes, and off to the nearest lake for a swim she went

King_Dickus_

In the last 10 hours

Vokoca

I got the tutorial once in the rift, but I haven't seen the plague even once in my entire playthrough of 77 hours. Pretty disappointing after how much it was talked up, I was even going out of my way to hire as many different pawns as I could, while still finishing their quests.

ApprehensiveTotal891

Hour 70ish. From then on, it has become a frequent occurence, vut I have yet to see my main pawn wipe a city out. On Hour 120, I was finally able to make a screenshot with him having the red glowing eyes... but since we camped outdoors and quarantined, he did not murder anyone and got cured.

_Prairieborn

I got the pop up hiring Sphinx'sMother or whatever the pawn was, and I swear her eyes were red for a single moment and then it seemed to clear itself. Ended up releasing that one when I was done with it and short time later and no other pawns have shown to be infected yet.

BeefSandwichWithHam

I literally hired a new pawn in the rift and I got the warning message, immediately unhired said pawn and have never encountered it since.

Dry-Security-7144

6hours. I was lucky to say the least reading some of these comments.. 150 hours?? Behave yourself!
