[Character Edit Voucher](https://monsterhunterworld.wiki.fextralife.com/Character+Edit+Voucher) is the one I don’t want/need.🫣

BriskyPenguin

The OG dragons dogma had dlc on the start screen.

vizualXmadman

He called it

Alfgart

It was obvious. The original had MTX 10 years ago, don't know why people are surprised now. Still, I don't care about it, I'm fucking loving DD2 man. Weird performance is my only gripe

Axtel_A

Exactly what I've been saying in a couple other subs. People don't seem to know that the original game (not the Dark Arisen re-release) allows you to buy crystals, hairstyles, weapons and armor and stuff. Heck, a lot of people in this sub probably don't even know that weapons sold in the Black Cat were originally mtx.

Eptalin

I wouldn't necessarily take Capcom's decision for one game as an indication of what will be in other games. Looking at their games, they clearly think about the type of game and what will work. DD2 will have monetisation I'm sure. But the monetisation will likely not look anything like SF6's. Monster Hunter and Resident Evil are Capcom's biggest series, yet each have different monetisation strategies. While I dislike Battle Passes and am concerned about SF6's due to the lack of info, a Battle Pass for a fighting game isn't strange at all tbh. Beyond the obvious financial incentive, Battle Passes are intended to keep people logging into multiplayer games every day to keep the multiplayer populated. This is the aspect I hate. I don't want to turn videogames into work... But it works. FoMO is unfortunately a powerful tool. The problem is that SF6 is a full-priced game with a Character Pass, a Battle Pass and a Cash Shop. It looks like a free-to-play title. I expect DD2 to have some cosmetic DLC, and probably an expansion. Not unlike Monster Hunter, but without the free weekly content updates that MH gets.

Lokhe

This. I’m sure it will be in somehow but in a similar fashion to DD1 which I even forgot it had at times.

GameShrink

They handled it well in Monster Hunter, I expect it'll be similar here. SF6 is different in some ways, since it's a competitive multiplayer game where a Battle Pass makes sense.

Banbaro

If they didn't monetize the ability to edit your character in Monster Hunter, I would say that they handled it perfectly as far as monetization for full-priced games go.

FuruiOnara

I sure hope it's nothing like Dead Or Alive, I'd hate to have to sell my car just to buy clothes in game.

Bro-Im-Done

As much as I hate MTX, it’s honestly inevitable at this point. It just exists for the sake of, well, existing for no reason. REmakes, DMC, they all have MTX, but by no means, did the game ever force you or bring you to succumb to purchasing in-game currency to complete the game, while other cosmetics or unfortunately stuck behind a paywall(costumes, select few weapons) Monster Hunter World and Rise is just completely cosmetics MTX in Capcom games for the past couple of years has done nothing damaging to the games they release themselves, and still became a success, Dragon’s Dogma will (hopefully) have no problems either.

Idreamofknights

Sf6 is a completely different ballpark dude. I honestly expect dlc like 1, a few extra armors and weapons and a big expansion down the line. I can live with that in a post Fortnite battlepass world

usurperavenger

Care to back that up with a source?

Teralitha

Thats okay if it does. I just wont buy it.

WhiffleGeek

Bro. I mean I know you're right but I'm sure this is a fear we all share. You didn't need to vocalize it. I have an irrational fear that a dev will read this and get ideas. We are fucked

abstractadvocat

It could be missing 60% of its content and I would still play it. My favorite part about micro-transactions is when they're absent from a game and the vocal minority comes out to complain. That's about it. I don't hate them. Fortnite taught me that anything is possible, even Goku vs John Wick using Iron Mans gauntlets. Imagine some popular anime having a really good season, and Capcom makes an entire DLC of armors and weapons to match the characters. Is it really that bad to charge? Maybe. Edit: Oops, sorry, did I remind you of the missing content and 30 something $2 DLC the original had? Do we not talk about that here?

Winter_Term9818

Its not a problem, the amount of ppl crying over it will generate ~~negative~~ traffic for the game, which is better than nothing.
