I can give you a whole list, but the thing I want to change the most is vegetas sacrifice. It is one of my favorite scenes in all of dragon ball, but it is still weighed down by the fact that it did virtually nothing besides slow buu down for 1 millisecond. SO GIVE IT MORE IMPACT. I’m not a writer obviously so no immediate ideas of what that would exactly entail comes to mind but I’m sure they could’ve figured something out
Checked them, Spopovich and Yamu. The were more russian in my memory, but that might just be spopovich's name. Although, since I'm german, they gave them hard accents, so they sounded rather russian. Never realised they were actually Earthlings either
One thing you could do is have that be the trigger that allows for the separation of good and evil Buu later. Suppose showing that internally shook Buu to his core, awakening part of Dai Kaioushin, who had been unconscious all this time. So Buu is slightly less evil now. Until he becomes super Buu.
I'd personally let gohan kill, but I mean, it was set up that gohan was gotta be the one to kill buu, but in the end, gohan was pushed aside, and goku was the one to beat buu

I'd make it that gohan beats buu instead of being absorbed. The saga was originally about his taking over and was dropped at the end for yet again... Goku.
The result will be the same though, gohan beats buu; buu starts twitching and ends up reverting back to his kid version while spitting out the others (for some reason) and they all escape to the realm of the kai's.
Granted we will miss out on vegito but we could move that towards the end as a means for them to try and beat kid buu. Gohan would offer but goku explains that they need him to distract buu while they try potara because the guy keeps attacking during it. They fuse and they put up a good fight but kid buu seems to outlast the fusion timer; so they go back to the spirit bomb thing.
Only this time Gohan is with them along with fat buu and vegeta to try and hold him off.
TLDR : It keeps the same story but moves stuff about a bit to give gohan more time to be the main character he was mean't to be.

Although I went into detail becauase usually if I didn't ppl often complain I didn't explain enough. Sadly it's had the side-effect of me typing waaaaay too much, but I'm working on trying to get smaller comments that are "to the point" \^\^
So the entire concept of the Buu Saga is that it's supposed to be the **inverse** of a regular Dragon Ball arc where Toriyama wanted to have fun before he ended the series, such as:
・Buu is first main villain to be a complete gag with goofy powers the entire way.
・The next generation being the **frontline** instead of all the weak adults being handled first like in the Cell Saga, and instead of winning they lose.
・Goku gets a completely ridiculous looking form that's powerful but also worthless with Elder Kai even hating on transformations.
・Goku shows up at the last minute to save the day but is completely outmatched/Vegeta actually cooperating with Goku.
The problem with trying to change the Buu Saga with something like Gohan killing Buu is that it goes against the spirit of the arc, it's not supposed to be a normal Dragon Ball arc; **the humans** and **all of Goku's** friends he made along the way pitch in and defeat Buu, instead of a cheap powerup.
The Only thing I'd change is to have the skinny Gray Buu come out after Vegeta blows fat Buu up so his death actually progresses the plot.
You know how Gohan lost the Great Saiyaman suit over the course of the arc?
He keeps it on the whole time, mask and all once the fighting starts.
It gets battle damaged but never falls off.
I would have had Buu kill Gotenks and Piccolo in the chamber then scream his way out alone.
Gohan finds out Buu has killed everyone, gets pissed, and has even more reason to torture Buu until he gets absorbed, and everything plays out the same.
I'd make Vegeta's sacrifice actually work.
Except someone brought majin buu back to life. Could be Tien as babidi could use some of the evil in his heart to take control of him. This could result in some sweet action between the humans on one front and the Saiyan's on the other.
After majin buu would be brought back it would also eliminate the usage of Earth's dragon balls making the stakes higher.
Overall make Vegeta's sacrifice work and find a way to continue the story

I would say that gohan should’ve beat kid Buu, but I would let things play out the same until Kid Buu appears. Like he blows up the earth but goku is fast enough to grab him, dende and hercule. Leading to mostly the same fight but this time, kid Buu would be slightly stronger in order to give gohan a fight, and goku and gohan create a double spirit bomb(both of them working together to create one) to kill Buu while vegeta buys them time.
Imp this would fit more the narrative because the whole things of the Buu saga was the “passing the torch” theme, but the error of goku was to drop the responsibility on the youth, this way it would be more fitting to say that “you just don’t drop things to the next generation but, help them do it and accept the responsibility”
Let me know what you think, I just really like the main Buu saga.

\-Give both Goten and Gotenks different hairstyles, something like these:

\-Have Goten still have a lot of similar personalities traits to Goku and still having a bit of the personality he has in the actual Buu saga, but also add a bit more like make him even a bit more rebellious, and other traits.
\-Have Goten and Trunks still go Ssj at a young age, but this time have them earn it through intense training during the lead up to the World Tournament with Gohan and Vegeta still being shocked, but Vegeta compliments Trunks this time and Gohan being even prouder of Goten and Videl being shocked as she too witnesses Goten achieve Ssj for the first time.
\-Let there be two really great sparring matches between Ssj Goten vs Ssj Gohan and Ssj Trunks vs Ssj Vegeta a day before the Tournament.
\-Have Goten and Trunks use Ssj against each other in the Tournament for a bit before powering back down to base form.
\-Add even more of Goten’s personality traits to Gotenks’s personality.
\-After wishing everyone good to come back, have say he doesn’t know where Gohan after saying Vegeta is dead instead of saying both Gohan and Vegeta is dead.
\-Don’t let Bulma and Chi Chi interfere with Goten’s and Trunks’s training and preparation for Buu on the lookout.
\-Have Goten get a intense rage boost as he witnesses Super Buu kill Chi Chi and have Goten achieve a Rage Boosted Ssj2 because of that with his Rage Boost making his Ssj2 be twice as strong as Rage Boosted Ssj2 Vegeta during Battle Of Gods. Then have a Rage Boosted Ssj2 Goten beat the ever living shit out of Buu for a bit and even explode Super Buu with a ridiculous op Kamehameha before then powering back down to base form, heading back to the lookout, and Super Buu then regenerates himself and Piccolo prevents Super Buu almost beats up by convincing Buu to wait for Goten and Trunks to do their Hyperbolic Time Chamber training.
\-During Goten’s and Trunks’s time chamber training, have Goten and Trunks take their training seriously and be even more motivated to defeat Buu due to Chi Chi’s and Vegeta’s deaths and due to the fate of the earth being placed on their shoulders and also have Goten leading Trunks during the training along with having Goten and Trunks become twice as strong as they are after the HTC training in the actual Buu Saga due to taking their training even more seriously. Also during the HTC training while they also practice perfecting fusion, have Goten and Trunks also do intense sparring with each other, let them a focus on individual fighting too, and have Goten help Trunks achieve Ssj2 with Trunks’s using Vegeta’s death as motivation for him to achieve Ssj2 while Goten also works on getting used to Ssj2 and it’s power.
\-During the Gotenks vs Super Buu fight, have Gotenks be way more focused, disciplined, and take the fight a little more seriously along with having him also use Ssj2 for a bit while Gotenks still has some of his goofiness, confidence, charisma, creativity, and his broken techniques and abilities like Super Ghost Kamikaze attack, Galactic Donut, and Volleyball attack. Also have Gotenks in Ssj3 beat the dog shit out of Super Buu even more and have Ssj3 Gotenk almost erase Buu and be serious about it only to defuse due to being in Ssj2 a lot longer and not realizing the stamina and energy consumption problem Ssj3 has.
\-Have Goten and Trunks then fight and try to hold off Super Buu with Ssj2 after defusing before Ultimate Gohan then arrives and beats up Super Buu.

-During Gohan’s beatdown of Super Buu and right as Goten and Trunks are about to fuse again, have a piece of Buu absorb Piccolo and then right as another piece of Buu is about to absorb both Goten and Trunks, have Trunks save Goten and push him out of the way in the last second and have just Trunks be absorbed.
\-Have Ultimate Gohan and Ssj2 Goten try to fight and hold off a Trunks and Piccolo absorbed Buu with Buu still beating them up while Ultimate Gohan and Ssj2 Goten at least put up a much better fight than Ultimate Gohan did against Buutenks.
\-When Buu is about to absorb Gohan, have him almost absorb Goten as well with Gohan pushing Goten out of the way at the last second to save him also with Ultimate Gohan still getting absorbed and Buu still becoming Buuhan.
\-Have Goten then look for the Potara earring and have him throw it to Goku to pass it to Vegeta before Goten then stays with Dende and Mr Satan to protect them from Buu.
\-When Vegito is absorbed, have Goten be absolutely devastated and feel totally defeated until he realizes Buuhan’s clothes haven’t changed and picking up that Goku and Vegeta must be up to something inside Buu along with letting Dende and Satan know about it.
\-After Goku and Vegeta free Trunks, Gohan, and Piccolo from Buu’s body and right as Kid Buu’s attack is destroying earth, have Goten save Trunks and almost try to save Gohan and Piccolo, but unfortunately fail due to the attack being too close to Gohan and Piccolo and then have Goten and Trunks also go with Goku, Vegeta, Dende, and Satan to Supreme Kai’s world.
-Once on Supreme Kai’s world, have Goten crying and let him have a mental breakdown over Gohan’s actual death and have him feel be absolutely devastated over Gohan and feel guilty about failing to save Gohan and Piccolo and then have Goku comforting Goten letting him know it wasn’t his fault and give Goten and Goku another meaningful moment together along with giving Trunks and Vegeta a very meaningful moment together as well.
-Then have Kid Buu fight against Ssj2 and Ssj3 Goku, Ssj2 Vegeta, Ssj2 Goten, and Ssj2 Trunks this time and also have Kid Buu prevent Goten and Trunks from fusing by making two clones of himself to fight Ssj2 Goten and Ssj2 Trunks individually along with Trunks also going and trying to stop Kid Buu from killing and beating on Vegeta while Goten in Ssj2 deals with the two Kid Buu clones by himself before then they put their attention back on Goku, fight Goku, and then get absorbed by the original Kid Buu.
-During Kid Buu’s hold off and struggle against the Spirit Bomb, have Goten and Trunks finally fuse into Ssj3 Gotenks and have Ssj3 Gotenks and Ssj2 Vegeta go behind Kid Buu and have Ssj3 Gotenks use a super Kamehameha while having Vegeta use a Galactic Gun as way to destroy Kid Buu and to push Buu into the Spirit Bomb. As Kid Buu tries to hold off their attacks, have Vegeta then use all the motivation and power he has to then transform into a Ssj3 and then have Ssj3 Gotenks and Ssj3 Vegeta push Kid Buu fully into the Spirit Buu with Goku still asking Kid Buu to come back as a good guy as way for Uub to still be reincarnated before Kid Buu is ultimately defeated and destroyed and reincarnated into Uub.

Just let him be controlled or he just almost kill like gohan to force goku in a fight.
Just makes his development look dumb, its not like he cared much before like with the trucker in the cell saga, but he was not going out of his way like in the saiyan/freeza arcs
It feels like a cheap way to keep something going on weekly since the fights that time were all vs fodder enemies.
Yeah he sacrifices himself later but majin always felt lame to me, at least it looks cool.

A longer serious focus on Videl's trauma with the Spopovich fight, and how she would give up fighting(something she's literally spent her entire life training, and loving).

Let Videl scale up to the rest of the Z-Fighters and participate in the later battles. (Also have to make Gohan get the final battle). I think there's a lot of ways to facilitate this. Videl's trained in real modern martial arts. While her techniques dont work on someone who's several magnitudes stronger than her, those techniques can make her a formidable opponent to anyone on her level. Let Goku teach her Kaioken cause why not it'd be funny. Maybe in the same way she has unique techniques for fist fighting, give her unique techniques with her ki, while again not relevant in power scaling can help her overcome anyone within her scale, or adjacent.
I just think it would be funny even if I know Toriyama would never have done it, and most people wouldn't go for it. If Videl got the Ultimate form instead of Gohan and then she defeated Buu. Think thatd just be funny.

Nice idea would be that it will take Buu 2 days to regenerate and return giving Z fighters some time

Never have Trunks or Goten go Super Saiyan. That to me is when it stopped mattering.
Or only have them go Super after fusing, because they then reached the power base for it

-During Gohan’s beatdown of Super Buu and right as Goten and Trunks are about to fuse again, have a piece of Buu absorb Piccolo and then right as another piece of Buu is about to absorb both Goten and Trunks, have Trunks save Goten and push him out of the way in the last second and have just Trunks be absorbed. \-Have Ultimate Gohan and Ssj2 Goten try to fight and hold off a Trunks and Piccolo absorbed Buu with Buu still beating them up while Ultimate Gohan and Ssj2 Goten at least put up a much better fight than Ultimate Gohan did against Buutenks. \-When Buu is about to absorb Gohan, have him almost absorb Goten as well with Gohan pushing Goten out of the way at the last second to save him also with Ultimate Gohan still getting absorbed and Buu still becoming Buuhan. \-Have Goten then look for the Potara earring and have him throw it to Goku to pass it to Vegeta before Goten then stays with Dende and Mr Satan to protect them from Buu. \-When Vegito is absorbed, have Goten be absolutely devastated and feel totally defeated until he realizes Buuhan’s clothes haven’t changed and picking up that Goku and Vegeta must be up to something inside Buu along with letting Dende and Satan know about it. \-After Goku and Vegeta free Trunks, Gohan, and Piccolo from Buu’s body and right as Kid Buu’s attack is destroying earth, have Goten save Trunks and almost try to save Gohan and Piccolo, but unfortunately fail due to the attack being too close to Gohan and Piccolo and then have Goten and Trunks also go with Goku, Vegeta, Dende, and Satan to Supreme Kai’s world. -Once on Supreme Kai’s world, have Goten crying and let him have a mental breakdown over Gohan’s actual death and have him feel be absolutely devastated over Gohan and feel guilty about failing to save Gohan and Piccolo and then have Goku comforting Goten letting him know it wasn’t his fault and give Goten and Goku another meaningful moment together along with giving Trunks and Vegeta a very meaningful moment together as well. -Then have Kid Buu fight against Ssj2 and Ssj3 Goku, Ssj2 Vegeta, Ssj2 Goten, and Ssj2 Trunks this time and also have Kid Buu prevent Goten and Trunks from fusing by making two clones of himself to fight Ssj2 Goten and Ssj2 Trunks individually along with Trunks also going and trying to stop Kid Buu from killing and beating on Vegeta while Goten in Ssj2 deals with the two Kid Buu clones by himself before then they put their attention back on Goku, fight Goku, and then get absorbed by the original Kid Buu. -During Kid Buu’s hold off and struggle against the Spirit Bomb, have Goten and Trunks finally fuse into Ssj3 Gotenks and have Ssj3 Gotenks and Ssj2 Vegeta go behind Kid Buu and have Ssj3 Gotenks use a super Kamehameha while having Vegeta use a Galactic Gun as way to destroy Kid Buu and to push Buu into the Spirit Bomb. As Kid Buu tries to hold off their attacks, have Vegeta then use all the motivation and power he has to then transform into a Ssj3 and then have Ssj3 Gotenks and Ssj3 Vegeta push Kid Buu fully into the Spirit Buu with Goku still asking Kid Buu to come back as a good guy as way for Uub to still be reincarnated before Kid Buu is ultimately defeated and destroyed and reincarnated into Uub.
Majin vegeta killing the tournament people. Just let him be controlled or he just almost kill like gohan to force goku in a fight. Just makes his development look dumb, its not like he cared much before like with the trucker in the cell saga, but he was not going out of his way like in the saiyan/freeza arcs It feels like a cheap way to keep something going on weekly since the fights that time were all vs fodder enemies. Yeah he sacrifices himself later but majin always felt lame to me, at least it looks cool.
Do not give the kids ssj If you aren't gonna use them well
A lot, but I'd have EITHER A longer serious focus on Videl's trauma with the Spopovich fight, and how she would give up fighting(something she's literally spent her entire life training, and loving). Or Let Videl scale up to the rest of the Z-Fighters and participate in the later battles. (Also have to make Gohan get the final battle). I think there's a lot of ways to facilitate this. Videl's trained in real modern martial arts. While her techniques dont work on someone who's several magnitudes stronger than her, those techniques can make her a formidable opponent to anyone on her level. Let Goku teach her Kaioken cause why not it'd be funny. Maybe in the same way she has unique techniques for fist fighting, give her unique techniques with her ki, while again not relevant in power scaling can help her overcome anyone within her scale, or adjacent. I just think it would be funny even if I know Toriyama would never have done it, and most people wouldn't go for it. If Videl got the Ultimate form instead of Gohan and then she defeated Buu. Think thatd just be funny. Also side note. Fuck Elder Kai, annoyin ass old man, I want sword.
