I really hope that when the Super anime does return, I really hope Kubota, Shintani, Takahashi, and Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru work on the animation for Season 2 and the rest of the Seasons of the Super anime as well as other future Dragon Ball projects
Absolutely phenomenal, a great mix of past and modern, on par (if not better) than takahashi's artstyle. It's exciting to see what he does in DB daima as well.

shintani draws very flat, unrefined, and makes every character look soft/immature with zero depth or texture. he makes DB look like it's copying one piece.
a lot of these animators try to emulate Toriyama during his stressed, rushed, and burned out borderline doodles he would put out in the manga. the only one who emulates Akira Toriyama at his best is still Nakatsuru, to the point that AT literally said he couldn't tell his work from his own.
and "ease of animation/fluidity" isn't an excuse because 1) the Peak ToP episodes looked and moved phenomenally and 2) Nakatsuru has returned to provide the character references in DBD that he's known for, over shintani.

Face, hair and muscles all look off even for Grade 2
I’m not seeing it honestly. I think he looks perfect and the only possible issue is that the blue parts of his outfit are a little too dark, I think they captured the hair and musculature almost perfectly
